When Finn discovers that the son he never knew he had was adopted into an abusive environment, he is compelled to find out for himself what has become of him.
What he finds is worse than he ever could have imagined--his son is an active member of the most murderous gang in the city.
Finn tries to convince his son to give him a chance, but the lure of the gang, and his loyalty to them, the closest thing to a family he's known, puts everyone in danger.
I believe thus far that this book did not nearly measure up as the preceding versions. The writing was all over the place. A little hard to to!!ow at times.
Well, I finally finished the last book in this series and I was not disappointed. I really enjoyed the whole series and that is strange for me. I tend to lean toward a more gruesome/bloody mess/serial killer genre but this was good in that it was just enough of everything. Not too much blood, sex, language, etc. Just a good story and it all tied up pretty well. Welllll.....almost. I feel like there should be a new series now with Sam but maybe there will be.
All in all, good book. Kept me interested, kept me entertained and was not 100% certain the whole way through.
Another quick read. This one seemed to be the most predictable to me for a part of the storyline. I love Finn, so I'm happy this book had more of him. I very much am enjoying this author, none of the books have disappointed and keep me intrigued, even if I guess a bit of the plot or not. I read this book as part of the bulk series, so I had the 5 books as 1. A couple of typos, and character mix up - just enough to notice and do a double take or reread, but nothing major and not many of them.
This is one novella series that I can confidently say gets better and better with each book.
I felt as though I had already built up a relationship with the very likeable characters so I was just willing them along with every up and down they encountered.
Despite this being a shorter story, I have not once felt as though it's been compacted too much or information has been missed out.
These four books are very entertaining. The characters are very believable and have their own issues. How they are able to deal with and solve them make the stories interesting and hard to put down.
These were four of the best books I have read in a long time. You finish one and you are ready to start the next one right away. I am sorry that the series is over.
Fast read. The stories and the characters seem to be improving with every book in the series. Though as in the others some things just seemed to be skimmed over.
I felt this one wrapped up fairly quickly and didn't leave any cliffhangers, but I own the rest of the box set and am enjoying these easy summer reads, so on to Killing Fields
