Health problems hit, but now with book #100 out, I am looking forward to my retirement.
I am not only an avid writer, but an avid reader. I am constantly with a book, whether writing my own or reading someone else's, I am always looking for a new journey and believe that with books and a vivid imagination, anything is possible. I love and thank the readers who bring the stories to life. Thanks for what you add to the books. Your imaginations, added to my own, complete the stories.
This journey has been amazing.
Thanks, family, friends, and amazing readers

PHASES BY PS WINN
POOR GEORGE JOHNSON HAS A REAL PROBLEM. HE WAS ATTACKED AND NOW HE HOWLS AT THE MOON AND EATS RAW MEAT. PHASES WAS DIFFERENT THAN ANY OTHER WEREWOLF STORY. WE DON’T SEE A MONSTER IN GEORGE WE SEE A MAN INCAPACITATED FOR A WEEK EVERY MONTH(MAN, ANY WOMAN COULD RELATE). WE SEE A HUMAN WHO DESPITE WHAT HAPPENED, DOESN’T WANT TO HARM OTHERS IN HIS ALTERED STATE SO HE LOCKS HIMSELF UP DURING THE FULL MOON PHASE—(CAN I DO THAT?) MS. WINN HAS TAKEN A SENSITIVE SUBJECT AND CREATED A CHARACTER WITH HUMOR AND HUMANITY. I FELL IN LOVE WITH HIS WOLF WHILE READING THIS. I GIVE PHASES 5 WOLF HOWLS

A really good supernatural story of Werewolves. I am normally not fond of supernatural stories. This one grabbed my attention right away and held it throughout the read which took about three hours. I could not stop reading. I took about a fifteen minute break at one point, thinking I would return later in the day and finish the book. I could not wait to get back to it, see where the tale was going.
George and Jake are the best of friends. George is a handyman, a jack of all, and Jake is a teacher. When George's wife is killed in a tragic auto accident Jake consoles George, helps him mourn. One night George comes to Jake asking for help. He tells Jake he has been bitten by a Werewolf and that in a few days he will turn. And then the story jumps forward at a breakneck pace. I will not tell you more because you need to read the "rest of the story."
I love a tale that grabs me by the seat of my pants and will not let me go. This is one of those. It does not happen often. Wow, when it does, when the book simply cannot be put down, it deserves and merits five stars easily. One other thing. In this book the author makes the narrator a writer as well. In describing how he writes to his good friend George, Jake says, "My characters seem to have a life of their own and take the story to a place they feel it is supposed to go." Anyone can write a short tale, a story. Maybe the writing is good, maybe not. When the author gives in, allows the characters to rule he or she, let's them dictate the story in her or his mind, the story becomes character driven and usually is excellent. That certainly is true with this wonderful tale which I thoroughly enjoyed. Not for young children only as a result of minimal graphic violence.

Phases is a charming, small town tale of family and friendship dealing with the monstrous dark side of one of their own. It is a fast, simple read that you won’t want to put down. The focus is almost entirely on three main characters, but it does introduce two more characters near the end that you will want to hear more about. In fact, the structure and ending of this book implies that this is the first in a series, which you will appreciate because you won't want the story to end.

This is another short and sweet masterpiece from P.S. Winn. She so easily gets the reader involved with ordinary people in the middle of nowhere and then BAM! There's a werewolf in their midst. Her stories are so believable because the characters seem real and talk and act like people we know. With the new characters coming into the story I'm hoping they're signaling a follow-up book or the begining of a series.

This book is a supernatural adventure but more than that it is a story of friendship and knowing when a friend will have your back. Something that is wonderful, but hard to find. Jake and George are friends but when George has to ask Jake for help and share his horrific secret the friendship is tested. Great story that also has stories in the story from Jake and his creative writing students. This is a must read for those who love supernatural adventures that combine true to life characters.
