Sheltered by the Grumpy Lumberjack

Rate this book
One wrong turn in the woods changed everything.

I came to Silver Ridge looking for inspiration for my unconventional floral designs, not romance. Then the sky opened up, and I found myself completely lost in an unfamiliar forest.

That's when I met him. Thorne Harrington. Six-foot-something of pure mountain man, complete with flannel, beard, and an actual axe.

Now I'm in his cabin, wrapped in his clothes, drinking hot chocolate made by a lumberjack who barely speaks but whose eyes say everything. One night together, and suddenly I'm questioning whether I want to return to my city life at all.

-

Sheltered by the Grumpy Lumberjack is a steamy instalove novella featuring a gruff mountain man and the city girl who melts his walls. With an age gap and forced proximity this first book in the Lumberjacks of Silver Ridge series delivers the perfect quick, spicy read for romance lovers who crave protective alpha heroes and the women who claim their hearts!

Sheltered by the Grumpy Lumberjack is Book 1 of the new Silver Ridge Lumberjacks series. It’s a short and steamy, instalove, OTT, age-gap, opposites-attract, forced-proximity, city girl gets her lumberjack romance. Dahlia is a sweet and feisty florist from the city. She has come to Silver Ridge for some inspiration. Thorne is a hunky, slightly grumpy, somewhat reclusive lumberjack. When Dahlia ends up caught in a storm in the mountains unexpectedly, Thorne finds her and offers shelter at his cabin. The two are insanely attracted to each other. After the first day, things get hot, and S-T-E-A-M-Y! But will she stay? Their chemistry was pure fire, and the ending was so happy. I can't wait to read Wade's story!

She has driven up to the mountain to look for unique wood pieces to incorporate into her floral designs. While hiking in the woods, she gets lost as a storm rolls in, and intercepted by a real live lumberjack with an axe over his shoulder. He takes her back to his cabin to wait out the storm. He is surprised by her. He is surprised by his primal reaction to her and the possessive feelings this woman evokes in him. She feels the same pull towards him. This is an instalove story, an insta know story, he knows from the moment he sees her that she is the one. They have strong chemistry and spicy moments, as well as some sweet ones. This is a short story so there is not much on back story or layered character development but you get enough to enjoy a quick read.

I love me some instalove! Thorne fell instantly for Dahlia, who was caught in a sudden rainstorm. He’s a man of few words and doesn’t know how to tell her to stay. But she’d like him too.

I love that he wants her to stay in the worst way. However, he respects that she has a life elsewhere. He takes her around town and turns out he’s very possessive and wants people to know she’s his. They meld so perfectly together. Young love. There’s nothing like it. Loved this book. I would definitely recommend this quickie.

This was a fun and steamy series opener that brought florist, Dahlia, and lumberjack, Thorne, together. She gets lost during a sudden storm and Thorne finds her on his way home. These two have some time together in his cabin but neither can really get over how connected they feel to the other. Sadly, her work is in Vancouver... I love how this story unfolded, with hot chemistry and instant connection. These two found a way to be together that made sense for them. I also love that we got to meet a few townsfolks to give this world some depth and have me anticipating future books. Good fun!

He protected her just when she needed it. Both Thorne and Dahlia fell for each other instantly, in the most beautiful, natural way.
The storyline was WONDERFUL, the steaminess was amazing, and the characters were like-able.
My favorite quote from this book is: “Sometimes you have to get lost to find exactly where you belong.”
I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it to others who like Instalove quick reads because it was a pleasurable read.

Dahlia came to Silver Ridge looking for unique wood pieces to enhance her floral designs. So engulfed in her work, she doesn’t notice a storm brewing until it’s too late. Thorne rescues her and takes her to his cabin. One night together and it’s instalove. But her life and business are back in Vancouver. Will Thorne be able to convince her to stay and build a HEA? This was a nice entertaining story. I highly recommend.

There's nothing quite like going for a hike, only to get caught in a storm and be rescued by a rugged mountain man. That's what happened to Dahlia. She is visiting Silver Ridge in search of inspiration for her flower arrangements. Thorne thinks he’s imagining things when he first spots Dahlia in the downpour. I love the instant attraction and the sweet chemistry between them—an excellent book with the best happy ending.

For the first book kicking off this new series, it’s fantastic. Thorne is gruff and grumpy but Dahlia changes that instantly. Lumberjacks, love and steamy scenes are all included in this first book. This quick read introduces you to some of the people of Silver Ridge. It really sets the tone of the series and I am all for it. Can’t wait to see what happens next.

Dahlia has come to the mountains to get some inspiration for her floral designs. Unfortunately, she is very directionally challenged and gets lost when a storm rolls in. Thankfully, Thorne finds her wandering around and gets her to his cabin to warm up and rest for the evening. Sparks fly and soon he is trying to figure out how to get her to stay.

Dahlia is visiting Silver Ridge looking for pieces to enhance her floral designs. Living in Vancouver, she doesn’t get the mountain fresh air nor the beautiful small-town look.
A great mountain man read, wonderful story, characters, and location. Absolutely worth the read as are the other books in the series. Grab them quickly!.

Thorne and Dahlia
Instalove, close proximity steamy, mountain man/ city girl, with happily-ever-after.
Dahlia gets caught in a rain storm on the mountain. Is returning home from some tree cuttings when he comes across Dahlia. The moment their eyes meet, Thorne knows she's it for him. Now he has to show her that staying with him is meant to be.

A storm and flash of lightning will bring two unlikely people together. Enjoyed how in tune these people are, while they have similar interests, yet both reluctant to admit their feelings. Liked the simplicity of this story.

Lost and Found

I love this story, the fascinating people, the instant “mine”, the finding your other half. She needs to stay all the rest are just details to work out. Such a wonderful story with a heartfelt happy ending.

It's not bad, just way too quick. I understand it's a novelette, but this was just not my thing. For a short read it's good though.
