3/5 I lived for the found family. Was it the best writing and plot… no. But I loved the characters and the friend group so much so it was good enough for me 🙌
Too many things and ideas, and i feel like a lot of them weren’t handled properly as much as they just was brought up shortly. And it was very big topics, such as: ED, abuse, SA, (physical and emotional) neglect, drugs, violence - like being pushed down the stairs and going to the hospital, that was never mentioned again after that chapter…and so much fkn more 🥸
I like the idea of the book, i did NOT like the smut (personal opinion tho)… The dude compared her a bit too much to an ex(Florence) - tho she was a real one; very relatable and realistic. Florence was almost a bit too real tbh.
Also I wanted more Sarah/girlfriends content Jamie is forever a favorite and icon. I would marry Marcus in a heartbeat, like someone hook me up! And of course Orions soft side <3

It was a simple good slow burn. Liked the characters but we didn’t really get to know any of them on the deep. The ending was perfect but short. The idea was great but I feel like it could have been executed in a better way, to feel and know more.
I feel like it was mostly about Florence and Elijah, the friends were great but we didn’t get to know them enough to feel for them. Like with Orion, couldn’t understand why he suddenly changed or the same with Liam. I wanted more from Jamie. I don’t know I simply wanted more.
I mean a great book if in a reading slump, easy read. Kind of recommend but also not really.
dnf. saw the wattpad a/n at the end of chapter 1 (not sure if this was only in my epub version because that would be strange to include in an official publication??) and couldn’t continue. the writing did not pique my interest enough for me to continue and just skip through the wattpad author’s notes.
i DNFd this at page 50. I now realise all the edits i saw, were made by the author herself.. that explains it all. Such a wattpad book. No chemistry between characters, NO world building AT ALL. Friend group was sooooo boring, the trauma dump was NOT built. This is the second book this month to give me a headache and make me wanna cry. I skimmed till 200 and it was still disappointing farout. Imma go read ACOTAR or something again cause wth man
This book had a good idea behind it, good quotes, and decent slowburn to smut romance. But alsoooo it's very obvious that it was a mediocre, incomplete, rushed wattpad book. The author didn't tie up parts of the plot that well, though they were introduced in a decent matter. It was almost a 3 star until I got to the last chapter, which effectively was "hey we are all teenagers without any money and since our lives suck so bad lets live together in a mansion, bring girls home, get tiktok famous, and live happily ever after" Uhhhhh whatttttt. Some chapters were rly good and some not at all but honestly I wouldn't have even read this book if it werent for a tiktok I saw (ON THE AUTHORS PAGE) or finished this book if it weren't for the short length of the story. The beginning of the book was good but then it was like "LETS FIT TWO INCOMPLETE TRAUMA PLOT LINES INTO THIS BOOK WITHOUT ANY REASON" It didn't tie in well at all.
Cute quotes I highlighted from the romance that make this story a 2 star instead of a 1 star:
- "Suddenly I love my name. I don't think I've ever heard him say it and I'm suddenly convinced that should be illegal. I'll have to hear it from his lips some time."
-"Please un-take whatever hint you took."
-"She seems so genuine and precious at times it makes me want to wrap her up in bubble wrap to make sure nothing can ever hurt her."
-"Something like pride settles in my chest as I hear the slight edge in her voice. I want her to stand up for herself."
-"How long until you realize you have me wrapped around your finger, Florence?"
so yes i did read this book and there should be a punishment for that. i manically BOUGHT this book after i crashed my sisters car a mere 2weeks after getting my license and only 2 days after getting my cast off my wrist allowing me to finally start driving so i payed $7 for this book bc i need something to distract me asap but this did not do the job
it felt like i was reading 14 years have s*x the way 25 years olds would it felt very illegal and i wanted it to end
this girl was the most useless person ever i’m sorry but i don’t even think she could tie her own shoes
his name was elijah 😬
i have nothing more to say about this book i was determined to finish it so i did that’s all.
Tbh there was something messing like the ending was a bit rushed and I wanted to know more about the side characters for example about orion's abuse , Marcus addiction . We didn't even get to know anything about the girls (Miley, Marcus's sister, Sarah ) and we literally knew nothing about eli's background, his real dad ext....but overall the book was average a cute high school romance recommend 200%

Lost everything good about it after I had to pay for it. I also think 8 euros is quite expensive for an e-book. Both main characters are nothing I want in a fictional character. Flo is annoying af and I don't think Elijah is a good boyfriend or friend, for that matter. The book was boring, cringe and had too much unnecessary drama. I can accept that if I read it for free on Wattpad, but not if I pay for it. I don't wanna hate too much, but sometimes Wattpad books should stay on Wattpad.
THIS BOOK WAS SOSOSOSOSOSOSOSO GOOD HOLY SHIT. There was a little miscommunication which made me mad but like it makes sense why the miscommunication happened ig. The MMC is so nice and I love him sm and the fmc goes thru a lot but like i lowkey forgot what happens but Ik her dads abusive and when he finds out he like punched her dad or something IDK but the MMC was just amazing ajfjwjcjwjfejje but I olnly read the WATTPAD version which didn’t contain bonus scenes that the paperback does WHICH IS WHY IMMA BUY IF BUT IDC THIS BOOK DESERVES 5 STARS

I loved this book! I have been wanting to read this for a really long time and I definitely did not disappoint.
This beautifully and heartbreaking romance is one of my favourite reads this year. Elijah and Florence friendship and romance development was beautiful. I was so shocked when Florence started to experience home abuse, but support from Elijah and his family and friends was all she needed!

if i could give this book a zero i would. the only reason i read it was because i was seeing a lot of tiktok’s about it that made it seem like it was a good book but guess who made those tiktok’s? the fucking author. the miscommunication in this book was so fucking bad and i hated the ending, the author just stuck all the characters (even some characters we don’t know shit about) in one house and basically said they lived happily ever after. this book sucks don’t read
Lol i didnt know there was a published version of this so i read it on wattpad LMFAOO but anyway. The writing was too rushed, the characters lacked any depth (imo) and overall, the story was way too fast paced? I love fast paced books usually, but everything felt so sudden and out of the blue idk lol
I definitely regret picking up this book and finishing it, but I hate not finishing books even more, even though right now I’m not sure if I hate myself for finishing it or not more, because this book was a waste of time.
I'm going to be real honest here, this is the worst book I've ever read. There is way to much going on and it just doesn't make sense. Beneath I'm venting lol.
*SPOILER ALERT*
1. FMC has strict parents, but the parents are never at home and leave her be. She can do whatever she wants, whenever she wants. No one is controlling her, she can use her phone whenever, could hang out 'til late with guys, without supervision. I can go on forever; this girl does NOT have strict parents.
2. FMC has an eating disorder. Alright, that's a tough subject. BUT it's not painted correctly. Like, no what do you mean she can eat everything and then suddenly she can't anymore? An ED is created over time, not because one day she decided: mmh let's just not eat or throw shit up. Then the author changes the whole thing and her mother was the person who gave her an ED? But her mother is never at home? Like, c'mon, can't you see for yourself, as a writer, that that doesn't make any sense?
3. This FMC is obviously a pick me; she's always hanging out with guys and has yet to call herself 'one of the boys'. She gets jealous when a girl approaches one of her guys, but she has a crush on just one guy in the friendgroup... This shit hurts my head, man.
4. Last but not least, yay the parents are finally back! Now shit hit the fan, because suddenly this girl is deadly afraid of going home. All this time, she can do whatever she wants and now.... she gets SA'd by her dad out of nowhere, with no context whatsoever, and her mom hits her? Then she goes living with her bf. Where is the build up???? It's exactly how I wrote it down here, but with more dumbass details no one asked for.
As you can see, I think this book was shit, periodt.
The writing style was just not for me, I couldn't see where the plot (if there was any) was headed and sensed a messily executed "twist" to make up for it.
i mean yeah it gave wattpad but that’s to be expected. the plot honestly kept me interested enough but the guy was making me so angry rahhhh let her live but again i read the whole thing real fast so 🤷♀️
2.75 🌟 this was fine. However, some of the ideas felt somehow incomplete as if they were brought up and wrapped up quickly florence is a sweetheart. so were benji, jamie, marcus and orion, hell i even started tolerating liam. elijah annoyed me at times but that was expected other than that he's adorable.
Felt a little childish but it was cute a lot of fluff and it felt like it wasn't real like it didn't feel real like the ending like there living a fantasy like no way everything went smooth I guess that's what's books about and Florence I love her but sometimes she acted cucu it scared me but jts just her panic attack and Eli I love him so much. Wish I saw more of Sarah and I feel like he never got closure of Ricky I wish I saw how and whne they broke up. I tolerated Liam towards the end and idk how she just brings up Marcus drug abuse and then never speak of it it was so much happening in one story and him bring pushed down the stairs I wish he sued Joe bruh but sometimes I cringed put but it's okay ig
Idk it got some issues like a poor world structure, very fast paced, weak plot lines and some weird stuff that threw me off including the A/Ns it was kind of a hard read yet entertaining nonetheless
You can tell it’s a published wattpad book but it was interesting ig. I accidentally missed my class bc I stayed up reading this and I freaked out cuz I had an exam but the prof changed the date thank god 😭
