HIGH HOPES AND SOUR NOTES: After Momogaoka Music University’s festival, Classic Life magazine runs a big story on Shinichi’s amazing conducting performance. But since graduation, he’s feeling frustrated–and not because he still has a fear of flying (despite the work of a determined hypnotherapist!) Shinichi wonders what the future holds. Then a chance meeting leads the music prodigy into a whole new direction . . . in Japan. Meanwhile, when Nodame visits Shinichi’s family, no one escapes unscathed. Maybe that’s why the friendship between Nodame and Shinichi is threatened–and could mean the end of Nodame’s Cantabile!
Tomoko NINOMIYA (Japanese name: 二宮 知子) is a Japanese manga artist. In 1989, she made her debut with London Doubt Boys. She is best known for her series Nodame Cantabile, which received the 2004 Kodansha Manga Award for shōjo manga. Nodame Cantabile has been adapted for television as both live-action drama series and 3 anime seasons.
Chiaki will go with Nodame in the parents' house of mother of Chiaki. An uncle and the nephew who have been separated from music. But They regain a heart of the musicomania by a performance of the Nodame and Chiaki. The action of the Nodame moves a person’s mind.
The best thing about reading this manga online is that, whenever Chiaki or Nodame or the Orchestra is playing a piece I don't know about, I can google it and listen to it online. Like in this case, I was not familiar with Edward Elgar Sonata Violin and Piano Op. 82, until the scene where Chiaki plays the violin, and Nodame the piano. Every time they play together is delightful, and makes me wish to read musical books; books that are related to classical music, or about characters who play the piano/violin/cello...
The negative aspect of this volume is Chiaki. I cannot stand him; he is so cold and heartless. There are times when he is softer, but in this volume, there were none. Nodame, please, get away from him... except when you have to play a piece with him, which seriously, are the best scenes in the whole manga.
It was really mean for everyone to tell Nodame that she shoudn't be a teacher because of her childish personality! I mean, it's her dream and everyone, especially Chiaki who was like, ''you must be kidding! A teacher? You? No way". That's so mean :c
on the other hand... Mine Ryutaru you're my favorite, kyaaa ❤
I'm seriously loving this series! The characters and plot gets better with every volume, and the humor is always great! I can't wait to get my hands on the next volume!
Mereka berdua bertolak belakang, but once they play music together, it's like harmony has been created! Sonata for Violin and Piano in E Minor Op82 gubahan Edward Elgar nyatanya bisa mengembalikan kehangatan keluarga kecil tersebut sepeninggal sang kakek. One of my favorite mangas ever!

This review is for the series as a (almost) whole, reviewing after reading books 1-10.
It took me quite some time to really get into this series. Books 2-4 were okay. They kept me entertained and curious enough to keep going, but I don't think it was really until book 5 that I really got invested in the series and Nodame and Shinichi.
I'm not a fan of classical music so some of the lingo and storylines went over my head, but I got the gist of most stuff. Shinichi finds himself stuck with Nodame no matter how mean he is to her. He tries to make her aware that he wants nothing to do with her, but when something goes wrong he is always there. When she leaves their apartment complex mysteriously for a long period of time he must know what happened and if she's okay. And Nodame loves him despite everything. Even though she's a little nutty and extremely childlike she does her best to take care of him, ultimately giving him the greatest gift she could give him and he doesn't even know it.
Unfortunately, the library only has the first 10 books so I'm on the hunt for books 11-16 which is proving to be harder than I thought. I did also find that Crackle has the anime series available to watch!
Nodame - Noda Megumi is a girl who like playing piano since she is a little girl, but weirdy she can't read a music score ?? She play it with Cantabile Style - when she hear another people playing piano, she can remembered it and played it. She is a little like stupid girl who cannot cook and really lazy to clean her apartement where she live.
One day when she meet with Chiaki-sama - the son of a famous pianist who have a dream becoming a famous conductor. But too bad his fear of flying make his dream must wait. she teaches Chiaki something that he has forgotten for a long time that is to enjoy the music we play / hear no matter when and where.
A good volume, and covers parts of the story that I haven't seen in any of the adaptations.
In this volume, Chiaki struggles with what he's going to do with his future, and decides to create an elite orchestra in Japan, while Nodame's dream of being a kindergarten teacher is faced with criticism..
A good volume, but the most exciting volume of this story.
