So I DNF @ 21% then had to at least skim the rest to see the HEA.
The guy (H) knocked her up and when he found out he was all like 🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️. Literally, I can’t deal with some MC who is okay to walk away from their kids. He even mentions to his brother and in his own POV, he probably has more kids out there he knows nothing about because HE NEVER USED A CONDOM
Even 6 weeks after he delivered the baby (and knew it was his) he wanted nothing to do with them. No contact, no support…nothing 😡 h, for some dumb reason, comes to see him again and they shag- with no protection. *omfg* Then she’s followed, calls him, then they shag again.
Mafia Doctor's Secret Baby by Laylah Snow delivers a compelling blend of intrigue, passion, and emotional depth, earning it a solid 4 out of 5 stars.
The narrative kicks off with a tantalizing encounter at a masquerade party, where Katie and Luca share a night of unbridled passion without revealing their identities. This mysterious beginning sets the stage for a series of unexpected twists, culminating in a dramatic reunion when Luca, a doctor, discovers he's the father of Katie's child during her hospital delivery.
Snow masterfully weaves elements of suspense and romance, particularly highlighting the complexities of Luca's dual life as a medical professional and a member of the mafia. The age gap between the protagonists adds an extra layer of tension, though it's subtly portrayed, allowing readers to focus more on their evolving relationship and the challenges they face.
Katie emerges as a resilient and relatable heroine, navigating the turbulent waters of unexpected motherhood and the revelations about Luca's true identity. Luca, on the other hand, is depicted with a balance of authority and vulnerability, making his character both formidable and endearing.
While the story excels in building suspense and developing its characters, some readers might find certain plot points predictable. However, the emotional depth and the chemistry between Katie and Luca more than compensate for these minor shortcomings.
In conclusion, Mafia Doctor's Secret Baby is a captivating read that offers a fresh take on the age gap and mafia romance tropes. It's a story of secrets, redemption, and the transformative power of love. Fans of the genre will find this book a worthy addition to their collection.
This book stinks! The female main character is such a push-over. She doesn’t think she should have sex with the stranger but does anyway because of his bossy voice.
Then she discovers the the mystery man from the masquerade who got her pregnant is her doctor and she lets him intimidate her literally minutes after having the baby.
When she goes to stand up for her daughter and demand to know if he plans to be apart of her daughters life or not, since it’s been six weeks and she hasn’t heard from him, she kisses him and they have sex. Like really! He hasn’t been around the last six weeks that is answer enough about his intentions and then she so easily gives herself over to a man who has shown little regard for her.
It’s gross how she’s getting walked all over and grosser that she allows this.
I will not be finishing the book or reading this author in the future.
I wanted a mafia romance but as soon as I started it I changed my mind lol. One thing about mafia romances it’s all predictable, and sometimes that’s ok but in this case I was not interested no action whatsoever. Boring 😴
This was an interesting read. Based on the cover, I was expecting it to be a lot steamier than it actually was. Katie walks into a masked party where anyone can be whoever they want to be, but the passion that led to the “secret baby” was surprisingly mild.
I’ll admit, the main character kind of got on my nerves. The baby’s father basically tells her he’s dangerous and she should stay away—but she keeps going back for more. That part was frustrating.
This was my first time reading something by this author. The writing itself was solid, and the storyline was easy to follow. I’ll probably try another one of their books to see if it hits differently.
the grammar was so bad. for an example in luca’s pov he watches katie put on the baby monitor. “katie puts the baby monitor on to watch katie sleep.” 🧍🏼♀️
make it make sense. there were more but that’s the one that stood out the most 😭
another thing is that there was no character development and there was no relationship. you blink and they’re engaged. it made my eye twitch. AND in luca’s pov he said he never got into tattoos…the book cover says otherwise lol
Whew. Mafia Doctor’s Secret Baby by Laylah Snow hit me like a shot of dark chocolate espresso—smooth, decadent, and just dangerous enough to keep me hooked from the first page to the last.
Look, I went into this thinking I was getting some hot fluff with a mafia twist—but what I got? Raw emotion, sizzling tension, and a silver fox who could make a girl forget her name, her morals, and maybe even her birth control.
That masquerade scene? Yeah, I was fanning myself like a southern belle at high noon. And when Luca showed up later as the doctor about to deliver their baby? I nearly dropped my Kindle. The age gap? Delicious. The surprise baby? Sign me up. The mafia drama? Addictive. And the protectiveness? Let’s just say my "touch-her-and-die" kink was very, very satisfied.
What really landed for me though wasn’t just the spice (though there’s plenty)—it was the quiet moments. The vulnerable looks. The way Luca went from dominant mystery man to someone who would burn the world down just to keep his family safe. That kind of ride-or-die love? That’s my catnip. And let’s be honest: if a man can deliver your baby and then deliver you in the bedroom? He’s a keeper.
Bottom line—if you love your mafia men protective, your heroines brave but real, and your romance with a side of danger and heat, Mafia Doctor’s Secret Baby is your next must-read. And trust me, you won’t look at a masquerade mask the same way again.
I really like the premise of this story and I really wanted to just dive in ASAP after I read the synopsis. I was just honestly disappointed in the lack of character development. I felt like everything was just surface level and we didn't really see anyone grow. Also, for a book that's 290 pages, it sure didn't feel like much happened. I think the scenes that they paid more attention to should've been considered after others.
Maybe an unpopular opinion, it just didn't really focus anything on the MMC background or get into anything too deep and the FMC just seemed like an afterthought most of the time.
Despite all of this, the blurb for the next book sounds interesting so I still might give the whole thing another chance, but who knows.
Katie had no idea that a one night stand at a masked ball would change her life forever. Nine months later, giving birth to her daughter, never expecting to see the hot stranger again, she is shocked beyond belief when he turns out to be the doctor delivering her child.
Whilst Luca can't stop thinking about the beautiful masked woman from nine months ago he is stunned to recognise the tattoo on the woman whose child he is delivering.
Katie and Luca struggle to come to terms with the situation. This is made so much worse by the fact he is a mafia heir in hiding from some serious upheaval in his home town. Can Luca keep his new family safe and at the same time convince Katie she can trust him?
A wonderful, fast paced romance with action, danger, a little blood shed, angst and plenty of passion. Thoroughly enjoyable.

There isn’t a huge amount of mafia related activities in this book, instead it focuses more on the relationship between the two main characters. It’s not a bad story overall but it does have a certain element of fluff.
POSSIBLE SPOILERS I couldn’t believe just how naive the FMC was, no woman in their right mind is ever going to have unprotected sex only weeks after giving birth. Definitely not more than once!
Then add on the unrealistic state of her maternal needs during captivity, a breastfeeding mother needs to either feed or pump/express the milk regularly. If it’s not done it’s going to be a very painful experience with the possibility of her milk drying up. Hard painful breasts and excessive leakage is not a pleasant experience.
If you’re looking for light entertainment then this fits the bill but I thought it was lacking in realism and believable plot.
Katie is attending a party with the Politician she is busy interning with, not knowing this masquerade party has more going on than meets the eye. She soon finds out when she talks to Luca at the bar. A wild night with him has left her with more than a memory!
Jump forward nine months when she gets a surprise to see who the attending doctors, and Luca gets one hell of a surprise when he finds out he's a father.
Luca never wanted children and the situation he now finds himself couldn't have come at a worse time. To keep Katie and the baby safe he should stay away from her but he finds that is very hard to do.
Can Katie let Luca into her life knowing who he is, can she become part of his world, or does she walk away and keep her and their baby safe?.

Luca and Katie crossed paths at this wild masked party where no one knew who was who. Katie had no clue what kind of event she'd wandered into until Luca filled her in. By total chance, they bumped into each other again later in this crazy scenario. Even though Katie didn't know much about Luca's past, she wanted him involved with their kid. Before she knew it, she was way deeper in than she'd planned. When things started getting messy, she realized she had some serious choices to make.
The story was pretty cool - it basically showed that when you're really determined, making changes isn't as tough as it seems.
I really should have guessed by the title that I was going to be disappointed but I held out hope for a redeeming story. The dialogue is sometimes cringe and off putting, I really dislike the friend some of the things she says I'd be like who's is this life. The timeline is a bit hazy and missing at times. I was really left asking more questions than getting answers. Where does she get money to live with no job. No mention of birth control but no second pregnancy is just a pet hate for me and she ends up back at her flat with no dialogue to this.
I did like the skip at the start from party straight to birth .
They meet a at masquerade party that leads to an intimate encounter and neither thought they would see the other again. Nine months later Katie is at the hospital delivering her unplanned child only to have the father of her baby deliver her. This leads to some interesting twists and turns garnered by secrets that will change Katie's life forever. Will she be able to handle everything coming her way for a chance to find happiness with Luca.

Katie goes to a masquerade party and meets an older man (Luca). They don't exchange any personal information during their encounter. The doctor at the hospital who delivers the baby manages to recognize her from her tattoo. He realizes that he is the father of the baby. Secrets, surprises and twists arise as Luca has been sent away while his father is handling a "family" crisis. A captivating steamy age gap mafia romance.

I couldn’t put this book down! The chemistry between Emilia and Luca is off the charts, and the age gap adds just the right amount of tension. I loved the mix of danger, passion, and the unexpected twist of the secret baby. Laylah Snow does a great job blending romance with mafia drama—it had me hooked from start to finish. If you enjoy steamy mafia romances with strong characters and emotional depth, this one’s definitely worth reading!.

One night with a mysterious man and pregnant without knowing what to do. She Finds him again except at the hospital while giving birth to their child. This explodes him finding out and not letting her go especially when she finds out that he is the head of the mafia. Things dont go as planned but for better or worse, Luca will do anything for her and the baby. A great story and you will love it as much as I did.

When Luca and Katie's night of passion is revealed during their unexpected reunion, the energy of the story shifts. Not only were the steamy moments palpable, but the added layer of danger and suspense kept me on the edge of the seat. Twists and turns were heart-pounding and emotional. I could not get enough.

This is a great love story with lots of chemistry. The MCs can't keep their hands off each other and keep finding themselves drawn to one another. There are lots of twists and turns while they find a way to be together without all the danger in his life. I recommend this book to all dark mafia romance readers.

this was the decent mafia romance. It didn’t have a ton of depth you don’t get any background really the families or the characters, but it moved along. I will say the last thing saved it cause the spice was gonna be way too vanilla for me until the last thing so I was like OK at least we got some oral relations going on butdecent pushing into a four probably more of a 3.5
Can you imagine meeting your baby daddy again when he's delivering your baby? After one night and nine months, Katie finds herself in the delivery room facing Luca. With plenty of mafia family drama this is a great read.

Katie and Luca are one of the best romance couples to read about. The surprises and secrets are page turning and entertaining. Get ready because this book is incredible to read and once you begin it is extremely difficult to stop.
Add one hot silver fox, a masquerade party, and a surprise baby and get a crazy story when these two meet when the baby comes. Drama, danger, surprises kept the story fun to read. Plus a twist or two adds to it all. Enjoyed the story.
One night left her with more than she bargained for
A masked gala was not what she expected. Good looking guy and a couple of drinks and a bet she lost led to a pregnancy and a beautiful daughter. Unfortunately they never introduced themselves.
What are the odds of you sleeping with a stranger and having him deliver your baby and recognizing you because of a peacock tattoo. I love storylines like that as it sets the scene and you end up not putting the book down. Highly recommend read!
Just. No. What was this mess?? Who were these vile people?! No chemistry. No excitement. Too much ridiculous sex, which is NOT the stuff a relationship is made. She’s an indecisive whiner. He’s a horrible person willing give up his daughter? These people all suck. Sorry I picked this up.
