My Feelings :

- I loved Marco's Nonno, Alfonso and Nonna, Claudia. They're so devious. I loved it. They're gonna have their own book. How cool is that! Can't wait to read it. So exited! They're so adorable and you could still feel the love this old couple had for each other. It was so hilarious when Alfonso tried so hard not so show any interest in Claudia's devious schemes when in reality it was the opposite. Lmfao! His monologues were pretty amusing.

- My heart was breaking for Francesca for the betrayal she felt after learning about her dead husband's secrets. She didn't deserve the pain.

- It was hilarious to see Marco jealous when he was mocking the duke about his jealousy in The Wallflower's Revenge and it was so evil of him for the way he decided to teach his grandparents and Francesca a lesson. Marco, Marco, what am I gonna do with you?!

- I liked Francesca's mother until she revealed about her silence to an important secret. I couldn't believe she did that to Francesca. It would've made sense if she was a horrible person or mother but she seemed nice enough. Ugh! Poor Francesca! And Francesca forgave her just like that.

- I was laughing my a** off when the duchess became cohort with Claudia in her scheme to marry Marco off. Things became more interesting.😉

- I know I was reading an unedited version but the grammatical errors were getting on my nerves. I found the edited version after I was at chapter-29. Sigh! Strange excluding the errors, I liked the unedited version instead of the edited one. Because some of the things didn't make sense in edited version there even though the grammatical mistakes were minimal. For example,

In unedited version :
"What?" The duke inquired again when I remained silent. "Are you going to stare at me all day? Oh, wait-do you have crush on me, Marco?"
"Funny, Your Excellency." I replied acidly, glowering in his direction. "If you ever get tired of playing the CEO of your business you should try to be a comedic actor."

In edited version :
"What?" the Duke questioned further when I remained silent. "Are you going to stare at me all day?"
"Funny, Your Excellency." I replied sourly, glowering at him. "If you ever get tired of playing CEO here, you could try your luck at becoming a comedian."

So yeah, It makes more sense in the unedited version even though the paraphrasing is better in the edited one of course. However, the duke didn't even say anything funny in the edited one. But in some cases, the edited version was better. I feel like mixing both versions together to make a third better version myself. That's how much frustrated I am. But I'm way too lazy to go all Monica Geller over it. Besides I don't have any rights to do it.

- Damn! Only Marco could propose like that! Devious man! I dunno whether to laugh or punch him in the face on behalf of Francesca. I would be lying if I say that I didn't like Marco's sarcasm. It's really entertaining.

Overall, I really liked the plot and world-building. Some might find it over the top and unrealistic. However, it's quite refreshing to read those kinda books every once in a while. The characters were delightful as well. Can't wait to read the next book.

As of April 2021 - Rating reduced to two stars. In hindsight I find a lot of problems with this book, especially the blatant misogyny. Was browsing through my read books when I found this and realised how problematic Orsini is.

Original review from 2017 -

This is the first best book in the series. I LOVE THE ICE QUEEN.

A common review on the series:

I happened to read this series in a very haywire manner. But all the books were enjoyable. The women characters are strong on this series.

The Orsini Bride is the second book by SweetBlunch of the Jealous Husbands Club. I found it on Wattpad (so the version I read was full of typos that made me want to stab the screen to pieces in annoyance as I edited the whole flipping thing in my head. I think the published version is edited so that's a plus!) It's about Marco who's been given an ultimatum by his grandfather to find a bride by his birthday. He's an old man after all, and wants great-grandkids. Francesca is an old friend who's been mourning for her dead husband for seven years. She doesn't have a good friendship with Marco at all, and only really knows him through the main characters of the first book. Marco hires Francesca to find him a bride. And well, there it goes!

I actually really liked Marco and Francesca. Their characters were great! On a shallow, but decent level. I loved their interactions too, on like a romance level. They were funny and cute at the same time. They really do suit each other!

But the cons to this....there are so many cons. And it's probably why I would only ever read this when I'm in the mood for a light-no-deep-plot-complex-heart-shattering-stories, since there's no read character development. Just romance development. I really really wanted to know more about Marco's character, and Francesca's, but since I was reading this as a guilty pleasure read, then I let it all slip! Simply because I wanted the light stuff. And what's lighter than a story like this? But really, there are so many things questionable about the plot but well, considering why I read this one, I let it all slide.

I will say though, that I did like the multiple perspectives! That was fun! Specially the perspectives from Nonna and Nonno.

I re-read this book so many times and still can't get over it. The sense of humor of the grandparents especially Nona is just Mind blowing. Amazing work done by the author.

After being disappointed with the first book, I was so afraid to read this. Like I said, I have the complete series and I don't want to think that I wasted money if I didn't like the books. But I liked this one and I felt so relieved to know that I could still look forward to the other books in the series.

In my opinion, this book is much better than the first book. The writing is more pleasant and Francesca as a female lead is also more likeable. Although Marco is also a bit childish in certain ways, he's tolerable. Compared to Lucca and Tatiana from the first book, Marco and Francesca are far better. At the very least, when reading, you could tell that both characters are adults, unlike the former pair who really seemed like immature teenagers in their story.

I understood Francesca's struggle and why she was afraid of the thought of love and marriage again. But I wish her emotions were explored more and properly explained because throughout the book, it was like everyone forgot everything about it and then the issue would just be brought up from time to time to maintain the plot when she had a good relationship with Marco. In this way, unnecessary complications were added to extend their push and pull.

I had fun laughing at the two in the first half of the story. They were entertaining, but the last 80 pages were a pain to read. Is it true that you lose your brain when you fall in love? Francesca seemed to lose half of her IQ in this part and I didn't like it. She was afraid of love and remarrying again, and was afraid that Marco didn't take marriage seriously so she went and found a suitable bride for him. It would not be wrong at the start because this is why he hired her for, but in this point of the story, she already had a relationship with Marco and they were in tangle with each other. It's despicable to bring in an innocent person to their push and pull. In this way, she not only hurt herself and Marco, but also implicates someone else. I'm only comforted with the fact that at the very least, the guy had the decency to tell Laila the truth and ask for her help instead.

Additionally, the proposal was horrible. Marco knew that Francesca was pregnant but still decided to give her emotional and mental stress because he wanted to 'surprise' her. At this point, I didn't know what to say at all. I gave up because it was almost the end and I just wanted to finish it fast.

All in all, I liked it better than the first book. The first half was a fun read, the last half was torturous. The ending is even more rushed. It's okay, but could be better. There are unnecessary twists and some supposed key points that weren't explained and handled well. But all in all, I still like it and I'm willing to turn a blind eye with some of the things in this story that irked me. This book still gave me hope for the other books in the series.

Marco had me falling in love with him in 'The Wallflower's Revenge' and this just made it so much more better. He is by far the best character in the entire series. His witticism, his remarks, his devil-may-care attitude (All the male leads are supposed to have that attitude, but I feel only Marco encapsulates it perfectly). And the way it's so obvious how in love with Francesca he is from the start and is just using the whole 'find me a fiancee' as a cover. I love how strong-willed Francesca is and how she doesn't agree with his 'seductions' until he begins treating her right. More than that, his grandparents are the couple I aspire to be in the future.

I love how his solution to the date problem is to just kidnap Francesca or barge in on the date. I understand that Francesca was hurt by her last husband, but her idea of just shoving Liala into the scene was so cowardly, even though it gave us a great look into the friendship between the Duchess and the Orsini Matriarch. The biggest point of contention I had was the whole Francesca's ex-husband situation, especially the fact that her mother hid it from her, if it was her in-laws fine I could understand, but her own mother?

This was the first book I read on the series and I instantly fell in love with the idea of being inlove! And it really added some admiration points in my heart for italians

The silliness, pointless bantering, and playfulness of Marco and Francesca just filled me with utter bliss everytime. I totally felt as though I found the book to hold onto as a stupid teen searching for love!! I was super thrilled when my mom bought me the paperback copy on her trip from Legazpi but I never thought that I'd end up loving it the most among all the books I had at home

I just couldn't get enough and found the whole series still available on Wattpad and read through each one of them. It didn't have that much depth to their love story which I really love for romance and YA books because if it's a romance then there shouldn't be any drama that's deeper than the romancepart right??

I know this is not perfect, but i give the rating based on my enjoyment while reading this book, and boy did i enjoy the story?! I read this first a few years ago, immediately fell for marco orsini, and continue to love him still (i reread it a handful of times). I love francessca and marco’s dynamics. I love that he fell for her first. I love that she thought that she hated him, and him being an a*hole just for entertaining her idea. I love their banter. I love the jealousy scheme. I LOVE NONNA. HAHAHA. See? You could definitely love something despite it’s imperfections.

A popular book published as part #2 of a series in Wattpad. Although, it can be taken as a stand alone book, it will be more appreciated if the previous books were read as well. I do know that the cover is now very inaacurate as the author has changed it recently.

This is one of those billionaire romance, with an alpha male billionaire in desperate need of a wife. The scenes are very cute. I haven't read this for a long time so I would not leave too much, but I will always remember the impact of the story to me, so...5 stars all the way.

This book is magical. You should read it. The first installment of the series was 'The Wallflower's Bride' which was also magical in contemporary sense.
