Elowen, a dark elf with a heart of gold (and the dating history of a disaster-prone banshee), is so over egotistical star elves who “just need better lighting.” Desperate to find her fated flame, or at least a date who won’t summon an ex from the underworld, she turns to the newest craze sweeping the FableFinder, the premier magical dating app for bold adventurers and romantic rogues alike.
With the loyal backup of her roommates—Pixie, a winged chaos gremlin who believes glitter solves all problems, and Bree, a pragmatic halfling who is the trio’s voice of reason, — Elowen embarks on a whirlwind of enchanted encounters. From overly chivalrous knights and brooding necromancers to axe swinging orcs and adrenaline junkie Dragonborn, each date is a misadventure brimming with heart, hilarity, and just a dash of danger.
Can Elowen survive the trials of love, doomed tavern meet-cutes, and magical mishaps one at a time? Or will she discover that maybe the greatest quest of all... is learning to swipe right on herself?
A heartwarming fantasy rom-com for fans of cozy magic, chaotic friendships, and happily-ever-afters—eventually.
K.C. Plume spends her time wrangling glitter gremlins, correcting typos, and falling in love with fictional characters who brood quietly and make excellent pastries. Like any responsible adult, K.C. believes in deadlines, emotional growth, and the restorative power of sarcastic sidekicks.
When not writing about magical dating disasters or fantasy rogues, she can be found:
-Dramatically reorganizing her bookshelves
-Taking leisurely evening strolls
-And whispering “it’s for research” while creating yet another chaotic fae character instead of going to therapy.
K.C. lives in a cozy little apartment with her fluffy familiars, and would like to remind you that love stories don’t need dragons to be magical, but they don’t hurt.
Easily one of my top 3 favourite books of the year.
Dungeons and Dating Apps tells the story of Elowen Shadowheart, a dark elf who is just trying to find her perfect match on Fable Finder with the help of her best friends Pixie and Bree. What ensues is an adventure of finding oneself by discovering what you don’t want in your life.
For anyone who has ever fallen in love or found themselves stumbling across all the wrong people, this book will sing to your soul.
K.C. Plume writes with an emotion and poignancy that hits you right in the heart, making you realize the beauty of being truly present with someone. The characters are beautifully written, and although fantasy creatures, they’re the most real characters I’ve read in a long while.
I could go on and on about my love for this book, so I will end with saying that I cannot wait to hear about Pixie’s love journey in Book 2.
