Breaking up is hard to do, and it seems that the Parkers are learning that lesson the hard way. Mandy has broken her official tie to the Raddick Initiative, Bailey’s declared war on her friends and family, and even their father is amidst an emotional crisis. And when a ghost from their past suddenly comes calling, both of the sisters must face the emotions, questions, and truths they’ve kept buried for so long.
Mandy knows that forgiveness and redemption are the keys to moving forward and living a happy life, but she struggles with letting go of the pain she’s carried for four long years. Jones, Georgia, and Fletcher offer a distraction. Gabe is desperate to help. But Mandy insists on deflecting, knowing all along that she can’t avoid the real issue forever; she has to decide once and for can she finally find the courage to let go of her past, or is she doomed to live the rest of her life with an unforgiving heart?
Tracie is an award-winning stage actress, an international bestselling author, and the proud mother of two beautiful boys.
Her debut novel, Breaking Rules, was selected as one of iBooks Best of 2014 in Young Adult.
In the rare occasion that she's not playing matchmaker to fictional characters, you can likely find Tracie zooming down the hills of America's greatest roller coasters!
I loved this book and series more than I really should have. It has taken a real toll on the heart strings and I don't regret a thing. This book as made me cry, laugh, wonder, and cry some more. I have fallen in love with the characters, story line, and Everything in between. "Love is like a roller coaster and not everyone gets the chance to ride" I'm glad I got to ride this roller coaster with all its hills and twists and turns and drops and would not hesitate to ride it again.......and again
This was the final installment in Mandy and Gabe's story. I really enjoyed this series. It's very sweet (not in a sickly way). Gabe is finally starting to open up to Mandy. I really liked the slow burn. They didn't jump into each other's pants immediately, they didn't kiss right away, but they never gave up on each other. Their connection wasn't all about physical desire, even though you could tell they wanted each other very much. That is true love right there! Breaking Ties was a lovely conclusion to the series. I give this story 4 stars.
I absolutely love this book. I would say it's better than the first 2 actually, I was honestly not really surprised when her mom showed up and ruined her life. I chose this book because it had read the first 2 books and I NEEDED to read the third book! This is a very realistic book. I would recommend this book to people who like stories with suspense and family problems, very realistic and detailed. My favorite part of the book is when Mandy goes and talks to Gabe's mom and she tries to convince her to come to the dance. She realizes that she has to give her mom a chance to explain herself and she also realizes that she can't hold on to the past forever. Mandy changed in so many ways throughout the story. She was not very forgiving in the beginning and was very angry, then she started to realize that she was only getting her side of the story and she stopped blaming Gabe for her butt and her mom for everything that she did. If I could change anything in the book it would be that their is a epilogue! I would really like to know what happens with Mandy and Gabe! Tracie Puckett is a a fantastic writer! She is very detailed and very formal. I love her choice of words and her analogies are amazing, I love the way she makes her books really realistic and really heartfelt. The lesson I learned in this book is that we can't focus on the past or we will miss the present. Mandy missed out on a lot because she was so focused on the pain her mom caused her she didn't ever want to be hurt again, but she didn't realize that that alone would hurt her even more. We all have to be forgiving and listen to what others have to say before assuming things.

I'm so sad that this series is over. I loved everything about it from beginning to end. Growing up is never easy, and breaking ties can be even harder, but it's a part of life. This book takes you through that journey that at some point we all have to face and it does it so beautifully. It shows the importance of forgiveness, honesty, and loyalty (among many other things). It shows the importance of having faith and patience and the importance of living are life to the best of our abilities while we have the chance because we don't know what tomorrow will bring. No regrets, no holding on to grudges. No need to fear change or fear growing up, moving on or letting go. I really grew attached to the characters in this book, especially Mandy and Gabe. They have the kind of love story that I want. It's so sweet and innocent and just makes me bubble with joy. I am very satisfied with how it ended but there definitely could be another novel to this series. A must read :)
I did not nearly enjoy this book as much as the others. The plot seemed pretty forced and long. Too much happened in a six week period. It should have been left at 2 books but that's just my opinion. The series just went downhill with each book. I still love the relationship Mandy has with Flecher and Jones, and then of course Gabe. I was upset that Bailey and Jones broke up. It shouldn't have happened and she shouldn't have moved to California. There just shouldn't have been another book. I rarely ever give a book 2 stars because I feel guilty doing it, but it had to be done.
A bit too PG for my liking but I love how both Mandy and Gabe are always trying to treat others well- even when they don't want to (well particularly Mandy) .
Not really my review but with this being the third book in this series, I thought we were going to go a lot farther with all of the relationships in particular Gabe and Mandy's so I can only say that this book is the epitome of a slow burner and not even a good way...
Just like with every book that Puckett releases, I pre-ordered Breaking Ties. Then I got busy with writing and completely forgot about it, so it was a lovely surprise when I got the notification that it was available in iBooks. I started reading it immediately, which means that I stayed up way past my bedtime and devoured it in just a couple of nights.
I really liked this series but there were a couple of things that bugged me.
1. I felt like I didn't know what any of the characters looked like, the author was vague on description.
2. All three books only cover a six week period (excluding epilogue), I like how the story continued from book to book without breaks but I wish the timeline was a little more stretched out so that we could have seen Mandy and Gabe's relationship develop.
It took me forever to make it through this book. I don't know why it took me so long. Something about the plot line and the characters just was dragging. Once I finished this book, I couldn't help but feel that the entire trilogy could have been condensed into one book. Nothing was surprising or took me off guard. I have enjoyed this author's work in the past, but this was just a miss for me. I hope that her newer works hold more promise.
I was not disappointed. I loved the ending to this book however I was not expecting to be introduced to this other character . Their arrival stirred everything up. Mandy just had to have faith and give it a second chance . Gabe has developed into the man I wanted him to be . I was proud of Mandy for evolving the way she evolved. It was truly a beautiful ending .
The author has beautifully described the importance of forgiveness and redemption. The feeling that you may not forget but yet forgive is a relief in itself. The way this sentiment is weaved into the story is beautiful.
It's been awhile since I've read anything I enjoyed as much as this. I was beginning to think there wasn't any good books out there. This story was a page Turner and the writing was so good. I highly recommend the "Breaking" books!
FINALLY GETTING IT TOGETHER. But omg her sister and her mum just need to argh go away, especially her mum needs to go. Overall a really good book and a nice way to finish the book.
I loved the final book. Finished the last chapter of the book with tears in my eyes (and my cheeks), and any book that can pull that kind of emotion, is a well written book.
Great ending to a great series. This book had me feeling so many emotions at the end. I was sad to see it end but glad to see how it ended and I just wish there was more books to this series.
