Two years ago, curvy she-wolf Aspen ran from her shifter pack and her future as alpha female, where she was expected to choose handsome, blue-eyed Rafe, son of the current alpha, as mate and the next alpha of the pack. Now she’s back and living with three sexy former friends and pack mates, including Rafe, who promises to protect her from wolfish advances long enough for her to choose one of three potential future alphas without pressure.
Of course Rafe wants Aspen to choose him, and it has nothing to do with wanting to be alpha and everything to do with his feelings for the curvaceous she-wolf. But Aspen doesn't believe that, and it'll take time to convince her.
Time Rafe may not have, between a rogue wolf stalking Aspen and Aspen emitting pheromones that are making the other males in the house increasingly desperate to claim her for their own.
Important note from the author! Alpha Games is a paranormal romance serial about a female wolf shifter and the three sexy alphas she’s destined to choose between. The story is told in novella length episodes with cliff-hangers, I know that this format isn’t for everyone, but I love serials and find they keep things exciting for me as a writer. I hope you enjoy if you decide to still read it.
Terry is the author of over forty bestselling shifter romances. She spends her spare time dreaming of dragons, playing with her pets, and watching sunsets from her home in the mountains alongside her husband (who she suspects would make a great bear shifter). She loves the wild outdoors, her fans, all readers, and getting lost in a great book.

This is the first of a completed four part mini series on Amazon, each around 50 pages.
A rather stubborn, free-spirited female wolf has her choice of male wolves to mate with, but mating with an alpha female is for life and she wants to make sure her mate loves her verses just wants to be the alpha male. She plays a dangerous, sexy game as three wolves compete for the rights to her. It's not a John Grisham plot... just a light, fun, sexy read with a lot of sexual angst and a little wolf fighting action.
The grammatical side of the writing could use a good editor, but the writer had a great pace and flow to her writing style. It's a 'meat and potatoes' kind of style that doesn't lull or give three paragraph descriptions of clothes and food.
One thing slightly perturbed me, however, and that is the female MC's obsession with being "fat." She's described as curvy and soft with love handles and thinks of herself as unattractive. She's constantly asking the male wolves about her weight and attractiveness, to which they make clear that they like. When she eventually picks a mate and he sees her fully naked and reassures her of her beauty a dozen times, she stops describing her body as fat in the dialogue and switches to "my beautiful body." -It's fiction, yeah, I know!- I think the author intended it to be an 'all sizes are beautiful' kind of thing. Still, it's easily interpreted as needing a man to tell you you're beautiful before believing it yourself, a concept that late teen and early twenty-something readers don't really need any more of in entertainment messages.
I read this book in about 2 hours and just as it was starting to get good it stopped. It has a good story line and interesting characters but you just barely get to know them or their story and the book is over. I recommend it but be ready to get the next one right away to curb your curiosity.
This book is written along the same vein as Play Me: New Adult Billionaire Romance (A1pha) by Blue Ashcroft.
Aspen is running from an abusive mate to a mansion with three alpha males just as Kira did.
Rafe and Alex have similar personalities as does Hawthorne and Ethan; Olie and Lindon.
The same arrival on a rainy night; the argument about whether she stays; handing her clothes; drying her hair; making up the bed.
Kira going to Ethan’s room on a stormy night - Aspen doing the same with Hawes. Rafe carrying Aspen over his shoulder out of Hawe’s room just as Alex did with Kira. Rafe pins Aspen to the door and kisses her just as Alex did to Kira.
Even down to the detail of a sweater he wears the next day. “He’s wearing a navy pull over sweater with a half zipper in the front and a soft standing collar that frames his powerful neck perfectly”
Asking her not to leave the house without a male chaperone/ companion.
The text to Megan inviting her over, sitting out on the grass.
This was like reading the same book with the characters having a different name. I kid you not. I don’t know what is going on here but something isn’t right.
I bought this and the two sequels when it was recommended because the plot was so similar to something I previously read that I thought it was the same series. It turns out another author had the exact same idea of a female werewolf torn between three guys. That other story's woman also had the same exact irritation that she was just an object, that she should mate for love as opposed to expediency. The other story's woman also was most attracted to the primary alpha but denies her feelings merely because she is stubborn. That other story's woman also had another wolf after her and had to be protected. Well apparently, this here, Alpha Games," is an entirely new series coincidentally having a similar plot. This was a fun light read, with the characters seeming to me to be acting a little silly sometimes. My biggest complaint was that when it starts, you feel as if this is book two because so much has gone on previously that is only referred to as having happened in the past. I wish it had a prequel.
Alpha Games is a very short paranormal romance by Terry Bolryder. Ms. Bolryder has provided readers with a well-written book furnished with fantastic characters. This book, due to it's length and the cliffhanger ending only rates a 2 star from this cliffhanger hater.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Aspen, a curvy she-wolf, returns to her pack after two years away, determined to choose her own path instead of succumbing to the pressure of becoming alpha female by picking Rafe, the blue-eyed son of the current alpha. Living with three attractive former friends and pack mates, including Rafe, she faces a tricky balancing act: fend off unwanted wolfish advances, figure out her true feelings, and avoid a rogue wolf on her trail. Rafe’s desire to win Aspen’s heart is clear, but Aspen’s trust won’t come easy. Told in novella-length episodes with cliffhangers, this serial is full of steamy tension, pack dynamics, and suspense.
This wasn't a book, it was a teaser. I'll be avoiding this author, I don't like these silly games. If it's a free sample call it that, don't tell me it's an entire book.
*** 5 Stars for the series!!! *** I was in a horrible, months long reading slump and NOTHING was catching my interest. Then I decided to go back to my favorite genre and bam!!! I became an instant fan of Terry Bolryder and devoured Alpha Games, Alpha Rogue, and Alpha Contender in less than a week. Reading slump be gone!!! This series has everything I love: curvy leading lady, super sexy alpha males, steam, and a fun story line. I'm moving onto Ms. Bolryder's bears, dragons, and tigers next!!!
Could be better and this was like a phrase of a book rather than a whole book. The writing is very pedestrian at the beginning, though there were flashes of decency as it got further along. I imagine the whole "series" could be one book. But I won't be buying any more of them. It was a chore to read this -- felt like I was reading a slightly sub-par exercise in high school creative writing.
Ashen is very annoying and I only continued reading because the male characters are exceptional. The men are complex and incredibly accepting of the dingbat Aspen who cannot seem to make up her mind about anything. She loves Race but she does not believe he loves her so she avoids him. She being an alpha wants to be chosen for love but cannot say this out loud. You want to strangle her!
I really liked the way this has started. One she-wolf who feared being chosen as alpha female because there was no one else....feeling like sloppy seconds I guess. Now, back with her friends hoping for normalcy again. Yeah...right. But, I need more background and that's why serials kinda irk me. It's like Christmas...I hate surprises damn it! Ok... Enough ranting. On to book 2.
great awesome story but for someone like me who needs everything dumbed down, this wasn't for me. I was very lost who fang was. and for those of you who are like me that man was her ex. I will be reading the rest of the series cause they are good and hope fully I will understand this interesting story.
I thought it was a pretty good book, but it was almost exactly like the last book I read. It was actually called Alpha also but not about wolves. It had the exact same plot and everything. I thought maybe it was the same author who thought they could just change the characters to shifters. But all in all a good book but I don't want to read another book just like it again.
I love this! I was sucked into the storyline from the first word. There is everything in this read. I am definitely a fan! Warning: you will definitely spending .99 cents for the next one to see what's going to happen.
Yes, there is action, intrigue, suspense and 3 very, hot and smoking males. Yum! Thanks to Terry for this wonderful beginning.
Rafe is AWESOME She is ANNOYING And I like Lindon and Hawthrough but I think she should end up with Race .. I guess we'll see .. if I read the rest of the series because to be honest I'm not that intrigued ...
Short story about a conflicted woman who only wants to mate for love and not to loose herself. Good plot development and storyline. I found the first person writing distracting at times in that it didn't have a seemless reading flow.
Part of Kindle Unlimited. Great start to wolf shifter series. 3 Alpha males and 1 Alpha female. What happens when she returns after 2 years? When another shifter challenges for her...will she mate to stop him?
I didn't mind the serial part and the abrupt ending. What I don't like was the whole three suitors. I'm not a big fan of love triangles, even though it is kind of obvious which one she will choose. I don't think I'll continue with this one.
Aspens back to sort out her future but she worried to see rafe after way she left before. Rafe, Luther and Hawthorne all compete for her after rafe decides she needs a mate. Only rafe is in her thoughts.
we meet the brothers and the reluctant Aspen. we see that she is coming into her heat and she needs to find a mate. who will she choose from the brothers? will she finally cave into her feelings for Rafe?
Oh my God the cliff hanger! But really if you love the whole story lines with hot werewolves.... ooh to make it even better, 1 leading lady and 3 hot guys.... I don't want to give away anymore than that because I think you should just buy the book, crack it open and become addicted like I am :D
Feels like I missed a section of the story, a past history that needs to explored. IS this the first book, I had started with Lindon's storyline and backtracked to Rafe. Easy to enjoy and my vivid imagination thanks the author, two thumbs up!
