I’ve read quite a few Alex Kane books and this one has been my favourite so far. It was a great read.

Elle Fyfe’s husband Ricky was a gangster and a drug dealer, along with his brother Chris. Elle wanted a divorce as Ricky was violent and abusive and she’d had a one night stand with his brother Chris. Elle had a new baby called Tiegan and she wanted to get her away from Ricky too as he wasn’t the baby’s dad and she didn’t want to bring her up in a violent household.

Chris agreed to help Elle get away and start a new life and he said he would bring Tiegan to her but Elle never saw Chris or Tiegan again.

Twenty seven years later the book covers Tiegan’s life with Ricky and also Elle’s life in hiding. Elle regrets not seeing her daughter growing up but is too scared to return to Glasgow.
