The Hunter's Game is Book #29 in the Blake Wilder FBI Mystery Thrillers series by Elle Gray. This is a binge-worthy cocktail of high-stakes suspense, emotional depth, and relentless twists. Across the sprawling series, we follow Blake Wilder (a fiercely intelligent FBI agent with a shadowy past as well as a personal vendetta) as she hunts killers, unravels conspiracies, and confronts the ghosts that refuse to stay buried. What made this series stand out for me was the great balance of grit, intrigue, and emotion. The cases are sharp, fast-paced, and satisfyingly unpredictable, but it was Blake’s personal journey - her resilience, vulnerability, and razor-sharp instincts - that hooked me and had me completely invested in her and the outcome of each story. If you love strong, complex heroines, morally tangled mysteries, and a series that keeps upping the stakes without losing its emotional core, then this is sure to be your next obsession. A gripping, fast-burning thriller series that’s as much about justice as it is about survival - and it was impossible to read just one. Happy Reading…
The Hunter’s Game is a thriller you don’t want to miss!!!
Elle Gray does not disappoint as she sends Blake Wilder and her team on the chase for a killer of 2 FBI agents. They also find that a NYPD police officer is now missing. The team digs in to find out the connection of the agents murdered and the missing officer. Of course, they run into many obstacles, but they don’t give up so easily. This is another must read for Blake Wilder’s fans.
An intense, complex, and intriguing story. When their boss requests their assistance in New York, Blake and her team head out to see if they can help locate a missing undercover agent. The leads are few and far between, but then the unthinkable happens. It's certainly going to be a challenging case for the team. I would definitely recommend this book, series, and outstanding author.
The Hunter's Game(Blake Wilder FBI Mystery Thriller Book 29)
OMG!!!!!!!! This book was amazing and truly terrifying. Blake is back in New York, hunting a person who is killing FBI agents and not quick deaths, they are being tortured. Then they are thrown away like trash. Blake and her team solve the case and manage to save an NYPD officer, but just barely. I can't wait to see what trouble finds Blake and her team next.
But I knew I would. This writer has never put out a boring book. The characters she created are so interesting and constantly evolving. The situations are full of drama and intrigue that I never saw coming. I cannot wait for each new release and they don't come quick enough.
This is one of my favorite series. I love Blake Wilder, and Elle Gray has so many wonderful series. Her books are amazing, hard to put down and has some amazing characters as well. If you love mysteries, action and suspense, you should definitely try her books if you haven’t already ! Can’t wait to read the next one in this series.
Blake is one not to back down, dosen't care who's toes are stepped on. I really want to trust Sonny, not sure if he can be trusted, to protect Kit. I think that someone from 13 is messing with Blake's Aunt.

Elle Gray has done it again! Blake Wilder, Astra and the whole team are so fun to solve the case with. You get to know each and every one and genuinely care what happens to them. Smart, funny and caring, they are the bunch you love to read about.
Elle Gray is one of my most prized Authors to read. She never disappoints and keeps you on the edge of your seat and second guessing yourself everytime. This book did not disappoint. I never wanted to put it down. Thank you Elle Gray and keep these books coming!!
Love her writing, love her books! Looking forward to book 30. I will be bummed when the series is finished. I would, and have, recommend her to anyone who would listen!
Exact book. The plot is gripping with several unexpected twists. I have followed these characters from the beginning, and they feel like family or friends.
Elle Gray never disappoints. As usual, she has written another page turner...full of intrigue and drama, chased by humor. Thumbs up to a really good book.
This book left me with mixed feelings. I’ve followed this series for a long time, and while I’ve always enjoyed Blake as a character — strong, skilled, and deeply human — I can’t shake the sense that the storyline should have wrapped up several books ago.
By this point in the series, some of the plot logic just doesn’t flow the way it used to. Blake is highly trained, knows martial arts, and has years of field experience, yet the unsubs consistently get the jump on her. Even when she pauses to think, “Maybe I should wait for backup,” she still charges in. After nearly thirty books, that pattern feels less like character flaw and more like forced tension.
Another thing that’s starting to wear thin is how EVERY antagonist, serial killer, or shadowy figure somehow has her number, her address, her location — no matter where she goes. And within the FBI, it seems like everyone is out to get her all the time. It’s dramatic, sure, but it’s also exhausting.
I’ll admit it: I might just be jaded. I waited a long time after book 28 before picking this one up, hoping the series would regain its earlier spark. I’m still hopeful that book 30 will be the finale — and that it gives Blake the closure she deserves. My dream ending would be Blake and her sister, “Kid,” finally finding their way back to each other and opening a PI firm with Astra and the rest of the team. That would feel like a natural, satisfying evolution.
Will it happen? I’m not holding my breath, but I’m still here for the ride.
