Revenge

Rate this book
A Tortured Hero with a Heart of Gold

Growing up on the streets of Rio de Janeiro, Javier Almeida has only his older sister to protect him. When she’s sold to a human-trafficker, he vows to hunt down those responsible.

Years later, Titan Group’s Delta team finds him, tattooed and brawling, a vigilante protector with information they want. They take him in and train him, working him harder than a man should be driven, until he’s a soldier harboring an obsession. Ready for revenge, Javier ghosts his way across the globe, tracking the men who took his sister and working elite private security jobs.

Meets Sweet and Sassy

Jilted at the altar, Sophia Cole turns the reception into a one-woman party. She’s intent on devouring all the cake and champagne, so she can bask in the calories she’s been avoiding. In the midst of the revelry, he walks in, the one man she can never ignore.

Javier is her older brother’s black ops teammate—an automatic Do Not Go There. But if there’s one thing better than fondant and a buzz to ease the wounds of a cheating fiancé, it might be a one-night stand with a South American military man.

Game Changer

Javier didn’t expect to see Sophia again. He never thought he would even want to see her again. He shouldn’t have touched her, but his mind won’t stay away from her.

Now, Sophia Cole is thousands of miles away from the safety of her parents’ lavish estate and working alongside him in hell. She’s a staffer at an Embassy, and he’s there to keep them alive. There are bombs and bullets and blood-hungry enemies.

And then she’s taken. Gone. Just like his sister. But so much worse.

ARC REVIEW
Originally posted at Scandalicious Book Review

I was having a screaming good time reading this book until about 70% in and then the wheels came off. Javier Almeida is plucked from the streets of Rio de Janeiro by the head of Titan Group’s Delta team for his street smarts, physical talents, and his knowledge of the Primeiro Comando (PC). The PC kidnapped his sister and he is looking to get her back and take down the cartel. Sophie Cole is from high society. She is a champion for women’s and children’s rights and works overseas to help their situation. She is the sister of Colin Cole, member of the Titan Group’s Delta Team. She is also the woman who left her fiancé at the church for sleeping with the Maid of Honor. In a moment of weakness, during the now reception-turned-fundraiser, Sophie and Javier let go of their inhibitions and explored their mutual attraction for one another and then parted ways.

Later, Sophie is sent to Honduras by her mother, a PR maven, and her father, retired military, on a project to work with gathering intelligence against the PC. My eyes start to get a little twitchy here because she has no background or training in being a spy, but she takes a high-risk job to babysit the wife of a prominent cartel member? Still, I like the story, so I give the author the benefit of the doubt. Delta Team is also in Honduras and of course, Sophie and Javier reunite. Despite being surrounded by the team, the couple does not keep their affair secret. As their relationship grows, it changes Javier’s previously single-minded purpose in life to bring down the PC. He feels conflicted as to where to put his priorities. Rather than give up his life long vendetta, he leaves her behind. This continues their cycle of break ups and reunions until they get their happily ever after.

I am a fan of the Titan series by Cristin Harber. Although I find some of the stories a little inconsistent, Savage Secrets is one of my favorite romantic suspense books. I have high hopes for Delta: Revenge. I liked it for about 3/4 of the book. It’s around that time that Sophia is abducted for the THIRD time and needs rescuing. She engages in several TSTL (too stupid to live) moments that have my eyes rolling. The final straw is an encounter with her mother near the end of the story that took this from unbelievable to just plain silly. Sophie is NOT a trained operative and has never claimed any education or training. Why is she wading into the conflict? There are too many incredulous moments that turned a tight romantic suspense to need-to-suspend-reality book. Shame. Still, I’m giving it three stars because for most of the book, I really enjoyed the read. What do you think? Am I being too hard on the Sophie?

Revenge is the second book in the Delta series by Cristin Harber. It can be read as a standalone.
After leaving her cheating groom at the altar Sophia Cole grabs a few slices of wedding cake and a bottle of champagne and tries to find some privacy on her parent’s huge estate. Instead, she runs into Javier, her brother’s Delta teammate. Both have secretly been crushing on each other and end up spending the night together.
Months later they meet again in dangerous Honduras and sparks fly as they have to steer through some dangerous events.
I absolutely loved this story! Javier and Sophia were perfect for each other despite their different upbringing and backgrounds. Almost all of his life Javier has been on a quest for revenge, trying to bring down a drug cartel that was responsible for his sister’s kidnapping. Sophia is the first woman who manages to distract Javier from his goal and makes him rethink his priorities. She is sweet, smart and loyal and together they are smoking hot!
This is the first book I read by this author and I wish I would have started reading books by Cristin Harber sooner. Definitely a new favorite author of mine.
Delta Revenge is highly recommend for anybody who loves suspense-filled, fast-paced and sizzling romance.

4 very solid stars!
This was my first read by this author and it will not be my last:) The writing was fantastic, the storyline was good BUT for me and yes, I knew what I was getting into but for me, I am not an "action-packed suspense" type girl. I don't mind it but when it overshadows the "romance" and couple time then I get "bored" As one of my fellow GR friends said and I second it, it took way too long for them to get together. Some of the "action suspense" was a little bit much for me but again, it's just my feelings.

All in all a great book with a great bunch of side characters too. I only wished that I had so much more time with Sophia and Javier because I truly adored them both:)

Ms. Harber has done it again. I absolutely love the Titan/Delta boys. They are my favorite team. Javier and Sophia was amazing and so hot together. The missing 1/2 star is for the dizzy-ing amount of times she got in danger or kidnapped or in danger or.... It was just a little to much. Can't wait for the next guy to fall.

4.5 Stars!

This book. I love it! Not very eloquent, I know but just enough to express exactly how I feel about it. The connection between Javier and Sophie was beyond words and made me melt. Besides, don't you just love a guy who's not afraid to put himself out there and declare his feelings?

Javier Almeida has been driven by the need to avenge his sister who was sold to a human trafficking cartel, and his recruitment into Team Delta came with the promise that he would get his chance to do just that. But after his one night stand with Sophia Cole, on the night of her botched wedding no less, he can't stop thinking about her and for the first time in his life, he finds himself distracted from his plan for revenge.

If anyone epitomizes grace in a tough situation it's Sophia Cole, but then her mother trained her well. After walking away from her cheating groom at the altar, Sophia just wants to celebrate her narrow escape with cake and champagne, but being on display can be tough on a gal, so she sneaks away for some privacy and finds herself celebrating in a different way with her older brother's teammate she's had a crush on, the tatted and sexy Javier.

And it's certainly a night to remember, one that blows all her previous sexual encounters out of the water but when their paths cross while working in South America, it's not all sunshine and roses. Javier knows the reality of life in this part of the world and wants to keep Sophia safe, but Sophia believes in her mission and won't leave in spite of the risk. But when she's in danger, Javier will have to make a tough choice between revenge and love. How hard will this choice be?

Javier and Sophia are an unlikely pairing with their backgrounds, but they are perfect for each other. With a pain and loss-filled past like Javier's, it was big deal for him to open his heart up to Sophia and I love that he dealt with his feelings for her the same way he did everything else: fearlessly. I love Sophia's independent streak and her loyalty, even though I didn't care much for her stubbornness in the face of danger.

With every new book, Ms. Harber's writing only gets better. Javier and Sophia stole my heart and ran off with it. Parker who? Delta: Revenge is a great balance of intense passion and danger and I can't wait for the next book in the series, maybe Colin's?

4.5 RATING- I'm a huge fan of this author but put this book aside after the sample didn't grab me initially. Big mistake! It did take a little bit for me to get into this one after picking it up a second time but once I got really started, it just kept getting better and better. I've read everything but the NA titles from this author but think this book would work find as a stand alone.

I loved the hero. (After reading this book, one my regrets in life is never having a Latin lover. Seriously.) He wasn't perfect but he was delicious. I actually liked the heroine too and thought they worked well as a couple. I was glad the "forbidden romance" aspect of the story wasn't played up (heroine is friend/coworkers little sister). The potential was there but was never really a factor. The last ten percent of the book was the weakest for me. Specifically one revelation didn't seem necessary or believable but I loved the epilogue, so things wrapped up on a great note.

Heroine was fun and pretty kickass. But not stupidly so.

Javier was stuck in his vendetta and not letting go.

They started as a ONS on her wedding night. Then a two night stand months later. Then...

It just took too long for them to get together! Don't get me wrong, they were hot together! But they were like ships passing in the night. And she was the constant damsel in distress. Some of the scenes, while well written, just went on too long.

The action was pretty good but fell apart a bit at the end. The last action scene was ridiculous! Her mother?! Please!!!

But the epilogue was AWEOME! So good it increased the score from 3.5 to 4 stars. It made me cry and this was not a teary book.

No OW drama at all. OM was no drama.

Oh my! It is finally Javier's time! And holy cow he is one hot Brazilian, who is also a hot mess. He's been on a single minded path for revenge against the men who took his beloved sister. He has fought, bled, hunted and sacrificed and continues his goal with the backing of his Delta brothers to bring down the cartel responsible.

Sophia Cole is his teammate's sister. After having a disastrous near wedding day, she is in need of some understanding and Javier happens to also be having a disappointing night. They find humor, comfort, and one night of amazing passion and connection. But their lives are so different. He has his duty and goals. She has her own dangerous, but altruistic missions. But as they find themselves crossing paths again, they cannot resist the pull. Their times together may be short, but they are steamy and become more and more important to them.

But they are both afraid of feelings, loss, and the fact they live so differently and have conflicting views on the future. It becomes a matter of priorities, faith, and trust. But there is also guilt, fear, distraction, and danger adding tension.

Javier is a man who has been fueled by rage and needed adrenaline as an outlet. But Sophia has a way of calming his demons while also bringing out protectiveness and need. He is confused and conflicted about duty, distractions, and a foreign feeling of hope. He has a vulnerability hiding under his tough outer layer. And Sophia manages to get in there.

Sophia is a diplomat's daughter, but she is also a bad a** in her own right. She goes right into dangerous countries and in the middle of precarious situations. She's been burned by love. She has trouble believing in Javier and his unstable lifestyle. She needs to be settled, but also to be able to be independent and do what she feels she has to do.

Together they are wildly passionate and sweet. I just loved them together. But they definitely had challenges and there was no easy path for them to deal with the issues important to them and reconcile their diverging lives.

The Delta team is all accounted for--Brock, Sophia's brother Colin, Ryder, Luke, Grayson, and a few Titan cameos as well. Her friend Hana was featured and I have a feeling we may see her again. This was another exciting, suspenseful, and action-packed installment with steam, emotion, and humor. It definitely had my heart racing for various reasons. I really fell for the broken hero Javier, admired strong-willed Sophia, and loved the twists in the story.

Javier Almeida grew up on the mean streets of Rio de Janeiro and fought to stay alive—literally. When his older sister was taken and sold to a human-trafficker, Javier’s life goal was to hunt down and find the men responsible. Found on the streets, and recruited by Titan Group’s Delta team of covert operatives, Javier’s obsession drives him in everything he does, because he will find them and they will pay.

When life hands her lemons, Sophia Cole makes lemonade. Instead of being married and enjoying her wedding reception, Sophia is enjoying the champagne and cake calories that she’d been avoiding. In the midst of Sophia’s celebration, she comes across Javier and her party of one becomes a party of two—with a bit of horizontal mamboing. What better to heal a broken heart?!

Months later, Sophia is working as a staffer in hell—otherwise known as the US Embassy in Brazil. Javier and the rest of the Delta team arrive to help keep the staff alive during a political uprising—through the bombings and the blood, Javier never expected to see the woman he’s been dreaming about. Or that Sophia would be taken by the same group that stole his sister…

Sigh. Who doesn’t love a badass, ridiculously hot man with an accent? I adore Ms. Harber’s Titan and Delta men! Each one is an almost perfect Alpha man who would stop at nothing to protect his woman, and his friends and family. Javier is no exception. I love that Sophia and Javier have been eyeing each other for a while due to Sophia’s brother’s role on the Deltas. The visual of Javier and Sophia’s “pity party” is hilarious and I love how they reconnected at the embassy.

This series just gets better and better. I live the intermix with the Titan characters, but also that the Deltas are their own group, too. Cannot wait for the next one! ~ Missy, 4.5 stars

I'm a huge fan of the Titan series and Delta has quickly shaped up to match. Cristin Harber has a formula that works: sexy guy, feisty lady, action, suspense and plentiful explosions, both in the bedroom and the field and Delta: Revenge brings us another great couple in Javier and Sophia.

"Everyone needs a little Brazil"

Their connection is deep and, despite their individual circumstances, they have a magnetic pull. As is the case with all the Titan men, Javier is alpha, but just the right amount and with a real vulnerable side. And Sophia is a stubborn strong-willed woman who isn't without her her own insecurities. But they aren't overplayed, and together bring just the right amount of angst and emotion to what is very much a passion-fuelled journey.

description

I adored Sophia for her independent, head-strong, protective nature and Javier simply because underneath the protective tattooed badass exterior is a man who is absolute softie; he really does have a huge heart and quickly steals yours.

"Thank you. For giving me you."

Whilst there were elements to the story that I think would have benefitted from being fleshed out a little as they were solved just that little bit too easily, on the whole Delta: Revenge an easy, enjoyable, action-filled read that keeps you on your toes throughout. I can't wait to see what lies in-store in the future and if you're a fan of these series', you won't be disappointed.

I loved this story! Javier's past is riddled with pain and loss and his future driven by revenge. Sophia is his teammate's sister and off limits. Until the night of her broken wedding that is, when she is decidedly not. They connect over cake and champagne and have a memorable night. Fast forward a few months to a conflict ridden Honduras and paths cross again. Sparks come alive and and they create beautiful fire. There's something just so raw and real about Javier. His Sophie is just the balm to heal his soul. Sophie wants to save the world and she's so sweet and genuine. You can't help but love their connection. Despite their fast beginnings, they build something solid. The pacing and imagery of the story was done very well. The characters both primary and secondary leave you wanting more. I am totally hooked on this world the writer created. You can tell a lot was put into the story lines. I wholeheartedly recommend this read. Safety: No OW/OM/sharing. No abuse/rape, though the h is kidnapped. Condoms the first time or two then not.

Javier “Brazil” Almeida’s entire focus is on revenge for his sister. Watching his sister sold to the Primeiro Comando cartel as a child rocked young Javier’s entire world and has left him all twisted up inside. He couldn’t do anything to stop it at the time, but as an adult he seeks revenge in her name. All of Titan knows that is his goal and P.C. is his.

Sophia Cole is off limits according to her brother, Colin. As the daughter of a diplomat, she grew up with the expectation of perfection, which she has always felt she doesn't measure up to. When she walks out of her own wedding, Javier is captivated by her strength even as she struggles with the decision. Not one to have a one night stand, when she finds Javier in an empty room, they lean on each other and have a night of firsts for both of them.

After one night of heat, passion, and Portuguese nicknames, Javier is called away on a Delta mission. Six months later, they run into each other in Honduras when the tensions are high.

Javier is my new favorite Titan/Delta man, though I’m pretty sure I say that with each new hero. His weakness for Sophia and the conflict he feels as he must choose between his sister’s memory and the reality of Sophia made me love him even more than I did when it was just his Portuguese tongue reeling me in. This Brazilian transplant has so many demons chasing him, he doesn't feel like he can settle in one place or even with one woman until he sets things right for his sister.

Sophia goes through a great metamorphosis throughout the book. From standing at the altar, to walking (head held high) back down the aisle alone, and on to Honduras, she shows an inner strength that might sit down in moments of highest strength, but kicks back in soon after. She knows how to stand on her own, which is the best kind of heroine for a Titan/Delta man. She may have made some decisions that seemed to put her in further danger, but she always knew why she was doing what she did and was willing to face the consequences of her actions.

I love the tension, both sexual and suspense, throughout this story. With Sophia being the sister of one of his teammates, Javier does not take starting something up with her lightly, but he also can’t find the strength to fight the pull he feels towards her, especially when she needs a shoulder to lean on. Sophia, despite not being a trained operative, can keep her head under stress. While she takes risks, she has a focus on her mission and her cover. For the first time ever, Javier is distracted on ops. His team notices, though it takes time for him to admit his reasons.

The surprises that came in the end of the story made this an entertaining read beyond the danger and threats swirling around. I loved the choices Javier had to face, and the way he came to each decision.
I love the little cameos by my Titan favorites, but also the camaraderie present between the Delta team. These men have a slightly more targeted mission than Titan, and their reasons for being a part of Delta are all personal.

She did it again. Not that I should be surprised but Cristin Harber blew me away, again. I LOVE THIS BOOK! The entire Delta Team series is shaping up to be as epic and amazing as the Titan series.
Delta: Revenge is Javier and Sophia's story. They both have some dark demons to battle and Cristin writes out their journey beautifully. It's not a smooth road to HEA, though. There are surprises, twist and turns throughout the book, keeping us guessing and the pages flying. Right along side the gunfire and mortar blast. I finished reading this two days ago, and I am still shell shocked. And only barely able to talk about it now. Serious book hangover.
Delta: Revenge can be read stand alone, but Harber fans will recognize some of their favorite characters in Revenge. Plus, some new amazing people to love. (And if you hadn't already meet these guys, you'll be one-clicking at the speed of light to get more of the awesomness that is Titan and Delta.)
My warnings for Revenge, basically the same as any other Cristin Harber novel. Contains graphic sex with an all-alpha badass, tons of violence, and naughty language. Also, some of the violence could be a combat related PTSD trigger. Pretty much all the ingredients for an amazeballs book, if ya ask me.

I'm a big fan of Cristin Harber's Titan series, and now the Delta spinoff. I know going in to a new title that I'll get plenty of action, suspense and steamy goodness between the main characters...and here in Delta: Revenge, those expectations were easily met.

Now, me personally? I could never fathom doing what Sophia does-traveling to areas that can be very dangerous trying to help women and children while at the same time helping gather intelligence (or at least facilitating others to do so). I understand the sentiment behind it, but could never picture myself in that kind of situation...so that made it a little difficult for me to relate to Sophia's character. As for Javier, he is a classic Titan/Delta alpha male protector and he's ultra-focused on his personal revenge on those who took his sister from him. But once he and Sophia cross paths, things start to change.

The relationship that develops between the two is a bit unconventional since both have their own agendas to focus on, and neither of them want to give that up. But the more they come together, the more things develop which throws a bit of a kink into their plans.

There's plenty of the action and suspense I mentioned previously, which keeps the reader on their toes. The further in to the story, the stronger the pull between Sophia and Javier becomes-even though there is a lot of time they aren't actually together as they pursue their personal motives. The fact that they are okay with each other being apart like this when they supposedly have such strong feelings developing for each other felt a bit odd to me, but honestly I've never personally had any cause that moved me like they did so it's hard to compare.

Delta: Revenge is another solid, well written romantic suspense and for me was a 4-star read. Fans of the Titan and Delta series, this one is a no-brainer to add to your libraries, and if you're into this genre in any way, you won't be disappointed. Recommended for those 18+ due to adult language and sexual content.

Cristin Harber is my reigning queen of military romantic suspense. I love her Titan and Only series. She gives you just enough suspense to make it good for you. She always gives you humor, alpha male hotness and dirty sex.

This is the second novel in the Delta series. It's about Javier, a Delta member and Sophia Cole, a woman on a mission. Sophia's brother is a Delta teammate of Javier's. He's always been attracted to Sophia but his main focus in life is revenge. He lost his sister to human trafficking years ago and has vowed to not rest until all parties involved have been destroyed.

Sophia called off her wedding the day of when she found out her intended was cheating on her with her BFF. At her reception, she's indulging in a mild pity party. She bumps into Javier and they end up acting on their mutual attraction. One night only, no expectations. Fast forward a while later and they come face to face in a dangerous location with the constant threat of war, missions getting exposed and their lust for each other. What could go wrong? Read it and find out.

Harber has done it again!
Team Titan unite in this fast paced, HAF installment of the Delta Team. The ghosts come out in Javier Almeida and he is all good things wrapped up in one. Sophia Cole is a strong, vital woman who takes care of business and loves as hard as she works for the causes she believes in.
This story has so many twists and turns and keeps you guessing around every turn. If you are part of Team Titan like me, you see little snippets and references that only a Titan would recognize! It's almost like having an inside code that is fantastic! There are references to Titan and some other previous characters, but it can definitely be read as a stand alone novel.
Harber has such a way of making her characters mysterious and so Alpha, while also making them irresistible to love. Javier's past and Sophia's future collide into the perfect storm that crosses paths to form one of Harbers hottest hookups to date… Javier and Sophia has some of the most intense love scenes and his insistence in calling her “good girl” almost does me in…
One of my favorite scenes includes this gem of a statement,
“ I want to wear you out.” Gently he kissed her lips. “If you think of this day, you think of me.”
“Please.”
“Good Girl.”

This book was sweat, steamy, sexy, and at times suspenseful. I devoured every single page of this book, I wish there was more. Javier is a badass fighting machine, but he’s so so sweet with Sophia. Right from the stat he had me with all of his special endearments that he called Sophia. Sophiais badass in her own way too she doesn’t back down and even when faced with betrayal she didn’t give in. She was fierce and stood up tall, and not too mention that with the betrayal she found Javier.

If you like sexy suspenseful reads you need to get this book. But it is book two of a standalone series. But you can read it on it’s own. I highly recommend any book from Miss Harber as I have yet to be let down. I always find myself swooning over her men, or sitting on the edge of my seat from the suspense or angst. And when I say swoon I mean there where times that I read things that Javier said twice because…it was so darn perfect!

Javier is a man that has been set on revenge for his sister. He joined the Delta Team knowing that eventually he would have that. He never thought he would have feelings for a woman beyond the one night stand. Never sleeping in the same bed with one. That is until Sophia came a long. The sister of one of his Teammates.

I really loved both Javier and Sophia. They really got each other and were there at the right moment. Harber's writing continues to get better and better. This just drew me in. I loved the danger, the action, the sweet moments between these two.

I can't help but want more of Javier and Sophia. This is truly a great romance. I can't wait to see what else Harber has in store....Lissa

It took me a while to finish it. I guess I have quite an expectation riding on this. But then again, I found that delta slightly sweeter than Titan stories and that's probably why I find this lower than my expectation.

I started great. With Javier's back story and wounded but strong headed Sophia which reminds me of Sofia Vergara somehow (maybe because she has a great figure and loves cakes?) I was excited to see where the story goes but the. I felt like it went nowhere. I was wishing for more story than their passion since it's what grab me i the first place but then everything was just going nowhere to me and they both lost me.

It's still a great writing.. But the story, the couple and the passion is just not for me. Maybe my timing is wrong but I might need to re read this in the future and see ok got it all wrong.

For now,, it's 3 stars for me.

What a fantastic cover! I liked it Javier ! oh man hot delta man and with an accent uhm yes! Javier was so determined to get his revenge until he sees his teammates sister with in a wedding dress and scissors. Sophia left her cheating fiance behind and meets Javier on a deeper level. Her job is great I wasn't expecting her to be helping out in a different country. They were cute together, the tattoo was great and how it relates to him home (Brazil) I was expecting her mom to be a bitch with her stuck up attitude but she ended up being badass! The epilogue was great, Javier was such a great guy am glad he is part of delta.

Skip this.

No plot. No world building. By the end of the book, you have no clear understanding of what the hell Sophia does for a living. You have no idea what Javier does for Titan. You have no understanding of how Titan qualifies for insider information from the CIA and FBI.

The romance is lukewarm. They have decent sex, break up, and I was annoyed when they got back together. They have no spark or connection outside of when they’re connected at the crotch. Not a good thing for a romance book. And if translations, both computer and human, are to be believed, the Portuguese Javier spouts off when he is feeling particularly passionate are nonsensical.

The curveball about Sophia’s Mother came out of the fence behind left field and offered no deeper insight to the story at large. The weeks/months long time jumps the author favored ate up opportunities to address one of Sophia’s main (and valid) concerns: how can someone who wants roots be in a relationship with someone who purposely has none?

There is also a tendency to skip major parts of action by switching POVs, like when Sophia was kidnapped by terrorists or stuck in the middle of a lynch mob, which undercuts the tension— leading me to wonder why those scenes were even included. (To show how helpless Sophia is and how manly Javier is by rescuing her?)

This story is more like a very loosely interconnected series of events that largely have nothing to do with one another. Maybe this book isn’t the one to start on if you haven’t read her previous series, as I understand that this is a spin-off series— but frankly, that’s no excuse to entirely forgo world and character building.

This is a goodreads win, thank you, it arrived today, and I was so surprised. The book came wrapped as a gift, paper, ribbon and signed by the author, how sweet. Made my day. Looks like lots of adventure, sure I am going to enjoy reading it.

Finished, fast read. Story: Bride Sophia is standing at the alter, and hears a gasp and comment from one of her bridesmaids, she looks at the groom, just as she is about to say "I do" and realizes her groom and bridesmaid have been doing the hanky panky! Instead of "I do" she does the "Hell no way" and tells everyone to join her at the reception, as party hardy is on. At the wedding is her brother with his Delta Team, most ex military men, who go into countries and sort out problems. They are with a private company, with ample monies attached to their company. These men are lean mean fighting machines. Sophia finds herself in her room with a bottle of champagne and unable to get out of her wedding dress, as she has been sewn into it. One of her brothers team mates, (who she has always thought of as the hot Brazilian) is also drowning his sorrows, due to his past background, and the loss of his sister, he is on the team as he has been promised Revenge. Sophia asks him to cut her out of her wedding gown!

They become mad hot lovers but part company. Sophia is sent to Honduras to the embassy, where she is working with a wife of a local Honduran diplomat, the wife feeds Sophia secrets, and they are later found out. Sophia's life is in danger, as well as her friends, and the Delta Team are not there to help, they have recently been there, but have returned Stateside before the embassy is attacked. While in Honduras Javier runs into Sophia at the embassy, he is not happy she is there. However, Sophia and her lover Javier, have picked back up on their love affair. Navy Seals come to Sophia's rescue. Later there is kidnapping, and lovers spats, surprise withing the families, and a nice ending.

As a huge fan of Cristin Harber's Titan series and now Delta series, I was excited get my hands on Delta: Revenge. From start to finish it is filled with suspense, combustible chemistry and a fantastic story line. I love how she intricately weaves multiple characters from all of her books relating to The Titan Group and continues to tell one amazing story.

In this book, she specifically focuses on Javier Almeida a member of Titan's Delta Team. His entire life has had one focus, to get revenge for his sister by tracking down the cartel who took his sister and sold her into human trafficking. Growing up in Rio de Janeiro he knew how to fight, but Titan made him a force to be reconded with.

Sopha Cole found the worst of news while at the alter. Thankfully, she found out before any vows were made. Now, all she wants is Cake and champagne. The last thing she expects to find in a dark guest room is her brother's black opts teammate, Javier. Of course he is the last person she should consider turning to, she knows the Delta Boys and their reputations. But there is something about Javier that she just can’t ignore.

PS - Jeffrey Kafer does an excellent job of narrating this incredible story. His performance only enhances Cristin's brilliance as an author.

I love the romance between Javier and Sophia. This was a good story but it had some gaps. For example, it appears that Cristin does not command the written word to describe military strategy because she never tells us how the military got into the embassy to save Sophia....just all of a sudden they are there and she is saved. There was another rescue mission that is written as if the get away car waited in the front of the hostiles home like it was a taxi waiting for its fare. No stealth, intrigue, nothing.

Anyway, Cristin does know how to write romance and this one between Javier and Sophia was steamy. I loved the slow progress of need and desire for each other and how that grew to loving each other. I hope we hear more about Javier getting his revenge. Oh and I would like to know the outcome of Sophia's x-fiance. What happened to him....did he and her best friend hook-up and get married?

If you over look the lack of action and focus on the romance you will enjoy this book. I am looking forward to the next book in this series.

Delta: Revenge is a fabulous romantic suspense by Cristin Harber. Ms. Harber has once again impressed me with her storytelling abilities. She has delivered a well-written book with a stellar cast of characters. Javier wanted nothing but revenge on the men that sold his sister to the cartel. He was recruited by the Titan Group when they promised him revenge. Sophia learns that her almost-husband has been sleeping with her best friend in the middle of her wedding. After a one night stand with Javier after the almost wedding reception, they go their separate ways. Javier and Sophia's story is loaded with drama, humor, smokin' hot sex, action and suspense. This story grabbed me on the first page and kept me glued to my Kindle until the end. I can't wait to read more from Cristin Harber. Delta: Revenge is book 2 of the Delta Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

After a nightmare childhood in Brazil, Javier Almeida had definite plans for a couple of people when he’d be in a position to carry them out. Somewhere along the line, he became military enough to land on the Delta team and meets the ideal woman, an off-limits woman he wants for his own, Sophia Cole is his teammate’s sister and she’s engaged. The wedding doesn’t go as planned but the pair connect.

Both Javier and Sophia want more of the night they shared. Javier’s called out for work and Sophia works a new undercover assignment in the Honduras cultivating a source. Six months later, Honduras is brewing new rebel activity, Javier is on the team sent in and caught unaware when he quickly realizes what Sophia’s job must be. Just as quickly the team realizes the depth of their attraction.

Javier and Sophia's story is intriguing from the very beginning. We learn about Brazil "Javier's" crippling anger that has dictated his life, starting with the catalyst of his childhood in Rio de Janeiro.

Sophia is getting cold feet during her wedding...and then all hell breaks loose and it just had to happen in front of her brother's Delta Team.

These two have an amazing physical chemestry, but ... Their journey is paved with uncertainty, danger and feelings that immerge in the recesses of their minds and soul. They also hurt each other.

I could not give it five stars because he truly did not get his revenge. Revenge is the title of the book and it fell by the wayside.
