Some folks just prefer to stay at home. You know them whole families who politely decline invitation after invitation because they don't spend money on fancy clothes, don't care for small talk and they certainly don't dance. Good folks, for sure they're just not party people.
Donald Davis (born 1944) is an American storyteller, author and minister. Davis had a twenty year career as a minister before he became a professional storyteller. He has recorded over 25 storytelling albums and written several books based on those stories. His long career as a teller and his promotion of the cultural importance of storytelling through seminars and master classes has led to Davis being dubbed the "dean of storytelling".
I love a good story. Whether I read it or listen to it. Donald Davis is a master storyteller. I became an instant fan a few years ago when I attended the prestigious and entertaining Timpanogos Storytelling Festival. Donald is invited back year after year as he is an audience favorite. And with good reason. I never tire of hearing the funny and touching stories from his childhood and his early career as a minister in North Carolina. Listening to these stories available on overdrive is a great way to become acquainted with Donald. If you have not attended a storytelling festival, I highly recommend it. Listening to a great story told in person is the best way to experience it. Be sure you don't miss Donald's event. I dare you not to laugh.
