A BRAND NEW gorgeous, winter romance from Leonie Mack, perfect for all fans of Emily Henry, Lindsey Kelk and Sarah Morgan ❄️💕 ❄️ Forced proximity (snowed in) ❄️ Opposites attract ❄️ Grumpy sunshine (she is grumpy) ❄️ He falls first ❄️ Snowy meet cute
Adventure guide Kira Watling is not a natural with guest lists and flower arranging...
But the destination wedding agency she works for always goes above and beyond. And it’s her job to escort an important guest from Salzburg to the venue, a gorgeous chalet nestled in the mountains. It should be simple, but an overnight delay due to heavy snowfall leaves her stuck in close quarters with her very handsome, very eccentric charge, Italian opera singer Mattia.
Clumsy, yet sensitive, Mattia is unlike anyone Kira has ever met. Spending an evening exploring the Christmas markets and then making their way through the snow-covered mountains to the wedding the following day, Mattia gets under Kira’s skin in a way no one else has. They can’t ignore the very unexpected attraction, but Kira has a job to do. And whilst Mattia is open to love, bitter life experience has taught Kira to guard her heart.
Continually thrown together by wedding disasters, Kira finds her resistance to commitment sorely challenged by growing feelings for the charming Mattia – and the determination of the bridal party to make these snowbound nuptials a success. But can there be a future for a tough outdoor guide and an opera singer when the snow is finally cleared?
Escape to the snowy mountains with Leonie Mack for a gorgeous, snowbound feel-good romance!

'An addictive, emotional rollercoaster of a romance, drenched in sunshine and laughter.' Emma Jackson
‘I love Leonie's books - so romantic!' Sandy Barker
After leaving Australia ‘for a year’, Leonie never went home and now travels across Europe jotting down love stories wherever she goes. She has a degree in languages and is an expert at taking public transport and travelling under her own steam on foot or by bike. ‘Home’ is now in central Germany, in the vineyards along the Main river, where she spends her time writing happy endings in English and speaking German with bad grammar.
A winter wedding adventure describes the plot of this book really well. Kira is a no nonsense adventure guide. She usually leads tourists through mountains, goes climbing or does skiing trips. But since there has been changes in her workplace she now is responsible to get the best friend of the bride to the destination of the wedding. A snowing wonderland in the mountains. The plot is adventures and entertaining, I will definitely be reading more of this series. Mattia is the guest of honor and the adventure begins within the first second he and Kira meet. The characters have amazing chemistry, the interaction left me giddy and smiling. They had me rooting for them from the very beginning. I absolutely adore how good they enhance each other.
This is part of a series, but it can be read as a standalone, the author weaved in enough information so everyone knows the history but not so much that it bores readers that already know. I would definitely recommend reading this book if you are looking for a romance, especially in the Winter months.
Thank you NetGalley and the author Leonie Mack and the publisher Boldwood Books for this eARC
❤️ A Winter Wedding Adventure by Leonie Mack ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
If you enjoy these tropes: ✨ Grumpy and Sunshine (she is the grumpy one, he falls first!!!) ✨ Forced Proximity and Opposites Attract ✨ Snowy setting ✨ Romantic Comedy ✨ Love the style of Emily Henry, Lindsey Kelk and Sarah Morgan Then this one is definitely for you! 💕
I’ve got the sweetest winter romcom for you! The second book in the Wedding Adventures Series, A Winter Wedding Adventure, is finally OUT!!!
After the first book of the series, An Italian Wedding Adventure, this one brings us another heartwarming story, a winter story. If you haven’t read the first book yet, while the sun is still scorching our skin and the rains haven’t started, I definitely recommend giving Sophie and Andreas a chance too. FYI, each book in the series can be read as a standalone, so it doesn’t really matter which one you begin with.
Regarding the book, Kira & Mattia’s story is so sweet and so peaceful that the attraction and chemistry between them can be felt right from the beginning of the book. I remember smiling on almost every page while reading. The story never feels repetitive or boring, on the contrary, you feel a craving for more. I also liked the author’s writing style, it is both funny and it is both funny and well-crafted. This also makes the reading experience enjoyable.
I absolutely love these cartoon covers for romance novels and romcom books written in my favorite seasons (Winter & Fall) excite me even more. I would recommend this book if you are looking for a romance, especially in the -ber months. Normally, I start reading these kinds of books in November, but Boldwood Romance's books are so timeless and full of hope that it can be enjoyed in any season. ❄️🎄
In other words, do yourself a favor and give this book a chance this winter with a cup of hot chocolate, wrapped in a thick blanket. Trust me, you won’t regret it. You can also find it on Kindle Unlimited!!!
This is an ARC review. I appreciate receiving this copy from NetGalley and the publisher in return for an honest review.
okayyyyyyy um..........where to start. the third person thing threw me off and had me confused the whole time. i love knowing how the characters feel and conncecting w them but like yall i felt so disconnected. DNF at 41%
thankyou so much netgalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest review
A slow burn, black cat x golden retriever, forced proximity winter romance between an Italian opera singer and the make shift adventure/wedding planner who is tasked with getting him to his friend's wedding. I enjoyed this one a lot, especially the European winter setting, all the obstacles they have to overcome to get to the wedding and how the FMC is averse to love after getting left at the alter. There was also good disability rep (anxiety + sensory processing disorder) and it was good on audio too. A good pick for Disability December Month!
I really like this one it’s a romantic book!! Perfect for Emily Henry fans and Sarah Morgan fans!!

Escape to the snowy mountains with Leonie Mack for a gorgeous, snowbound feel-good romance!
I just found out that this is book 2 in a series, so I'm not sure if book 1 was connected or not. So I will check out book 1 now.
I'm loving bookcations this year and I definitely got to add this one. Too the list of places I'd like to visit some day.
I liked both Kira and Mattia both separately but they lacked something together. I don't if it was chemistry, awkward banter, or past "baggage" (probably not the right word but you get the point)
Waiting for book 3 now.
Hope you pre-order your copy today for a September 2nd release day. Take a bookcation with me.
Thanks to NetGalley, the publisher and the author for the ARC in exchange for an honest.
I loved book one and I adored this one. The characters are so heartfelt and sensible. I love Mattia, an opera singer, delicate and strong (even if he doesn’t see it). And Kira!! What she shows vs what she feels… what it did to my heart. I loved how it was obvious they were soulmates, that connection they have. And I laughed and I gasped as I read. The situation and timeline was short (a few days?) but so intense and full of emotions. I loved being in their heads and seeing them fall for each other.
This came at the right time, I had finished book #1 a few weeks ago, and the story was still fresh in my mind. And now, it was Kira (Andreas' good friend at work) who is finding love!
What a different premise - an opera singer and an adventure guide! I do hear operas and the music somehow hits something inside and you start tearing up, so I get how Kira was finally moved to love.
I do not give spoilers, but I very much enjoyed the book, especially all the twists and turns that came with wedding planning at a snowy region - weather plays a big part! And I am definitely looking forward to book#3 when the next wedding planner / great adventure guide finds love while wedding planning!
What a lovely book, the MMC was gentle, kind, clumsy, clueless in certain environments and yet was open about his feelings and character traits that some people wouldn’t understand, FMC was strong and had a physically demanding job, she had built walls to protect her heart and wasn’t ready to let them down, until this sweet and talented opera singer came along.
I wanna thank NetGalley and Leonie Mack for the opportunity to arc read this book.
When I started the book, I thought it would be a very cliche romance novel, but that turned out not to be the case! I love the strong, independent FMC and vulnerable, heartfelt MMC. They overcame issues together and made the unlikeliest match, but sometimes those are the best matches!
Definitely gonna read the first book (and the books that aren’t out yet) in the series as well!!
Wow another great book in this series, I couldn’t put it down, It has adventure, romance and some testing situations! I loved the fact that the strong characters have quirks like most people do and it celebrates it. I’m really looking forward to the next book, as every character in the team has a great back story
I really wanted to love this book, but I just couldn’t connect with the characters. Both leads came off as a bit annoying, and some of the overreactions, like freaking out over a hotel fridge and not just unplugging it, were hard to overlook. While the wintery setting had charm, the character dynamics didn’t quite work for me.
Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.
Book review of A Winter Wedding Adventure by Leonie Mack. Thank you to Boldwood Books and NetGalley for my gifted ARC.
This book is everything I want in a cozy winter romance—atmospheric, character-driven, and quietly emotional. Leonie Mack has a gift for writing stories that feel like warm hugs, and A Winter Wedding Adventure might be her coziest yet. It begins with a simple premise: Kira, a mountain adventure guide, is tasked with escorting a wedding guest to a snowy destination. That guest turns out to be Mattia, a famous Italian opera singer who is as clumsy and eccentric as he is kind and thoughtful. A snowstorm delays their journey and strands them in the kind of romantic setting that brings people closer—whether they’re ready for it or not.
Kira isn’t the type to let her heart get involved. She’s practical, a little tough, and very good at staying in control. But Mattia is a gentle force of nature—open-hearted, sensitive, and unbothered by appearances. He’s a refreshing kind of romantic lead: not trying to charm his way into anything, just genuinely trying to connect. One of the most touching moments comes when he tells her, “You are afraid to feel, Kira, but you feel everything.” That line cuts right to the core of who she is and what’s holding her back. It also marks the beginning of her emotional shift, one that feels earned and never rushed.
What really works here is the intimacy between the characters. Mack doesn’t rely on grand gestures or dramatic declarations. Instead, the relationship grows through small, quiet moments—sharing stories during a snowed-in night, navigating wedding chaos together, and learning each other’s rhythms. There’s humor, yes, and plenty of awkward charm, but it’s the emotional grounding that gives this story its staying power.
The setting is pure magic—snow-covered mountains, cozy chalets, and festive holiday details that create the perfect winter backdrop. Yet the book never leans too hard on the seasonal aesthetic. It’s there to complement the story, not define it. The romance could stand on its own in any season because the emotional arc is that strong.
What I especially appreciate is how Mack never sacrifices depth for the sake of cuteness. Kira and Mattia both have pasts that shape their perspectives, and those pasts aren’t brushed aside just because the story needs a happy ending. The characters grow together, learn from each other, and find a connection that feels hopeful without being sugar-coated.
A Winter Wedding Adventure is the kind of book that sneaks up on you. You start reading for the cozy vibes, but you stay for the heartfelt storytelling and the characters who feel real in the best possible way. It’s a feel-good romance, yes, but one with sincerity, substance, and just the right amount of sparkle.
I’m loving this new series by Leonie Mack about the wedding planners & adventure holiday organisers at Great Heart & I Do. There’s some great characters & gorgeous stories taking place in beautiful locations.
What I love about Leonie Mack’s writing is her descriptive powers, she has a wonderful ability to create a strong sense of place. I could easily picture the characters (Mattia’s gorgeous long curls!) & the location in the Austrian Tyrol in the middle of winter from her vivid descriptions. These evoked memories of a skiing holiday in that region many years ago; I could easily picture the mountain setting & the views from the gondolas. I felt nervous with Mattia, recalling how far away the ground seemed from the gondola. And Mattia’s singing, the power of which touched Kira’s soul - & mine.
The story is primarily about Kira & Mattia; it takes place in the context of the wedding of Alessandra (Italian, an old school friend of Mattia) & Joe (an English businessman) which being organised by Great Heart & I Do. Mattia is embarking on a career as an opera singer, & Alessandra has asked him to sing at her wedding. Kira is an outdoor sports instructor, but is doubling up as assistant wedding planner which is not her natural forte; her lack of people skills leads to some lol moments, although her professional skills & training prove invaluable when a crisis develops. Both Kira & Mattia have difficult past relationship experiences resulting in a lack of confidence & a reluctance to form new friendships. It is heartwarming to watch how step by step they draw each other out from behind the walls each has built around their heart. As Kira said, “a time comes when we have to accept that our feelings exist or we just can’t cope. We can be hurt. Trusting is scary”. I loved witnessing the way they each changed as they hesitantly allowed each other in, & I loved the strong connection that quickly grew between them despite the barriers - it was hot hot hot!!
I loved this book, it’s a great story with strong main characters & an interesting cast of supporting characters. It would make a great holiday read.
With thanks to Netgalley & Boldwood Books for the opportunity to read an early copy of this book.
I want to say thank you from the bottom of heart to the author, the publisher and Netgalley for allowing me the privilege of being able to read this book. I truly appreciate it!
This was honestly the best reverse grumpy/ sunshine and instalove book I've ever read! It was also so much fun! There's not a single moment in this book where you're going to want to put it down, and every moment is non-stop action! Despite being a part of a series, this is a fantastic interconnected standalone and you won't miss a thing!
Well I mentioned instalove, it occured in the most natural way, it wasn't over the top, it wasn't hard to believe. As you read through this book you can see it and you feel wholeheartedly that they're meant to be! I'm really really glad that theres also no misunderstanding/ lack of communication trope in this book, they're used a lot and I was really afraid it might happen and I was so happy it didnt!
Mattia is honestly the best and only character who fully embodies cinnamon roll book boyfriend! Through and through even with his fantastic growth throughout this story, he still remains true to his absolute sweet and non-cheesy heart! I need one he can be my opera boy! Kira is so strong and independent, and seeing her grow into her emotions and let go of her past was so beautiful! Honestly I loved all of the side characters as well! They really made the story feel so well rounded! The settings for every location in this book were also described so immersively that I felt like I was there the whole time, the ice caves sounded so magical! The Wood chopping/ snowball scene was honestly one of my favourites too and I loved how it was so intentially ironically funny!
I had zeros faults with this book. Everything in it was exactly what I've been missing in a romance lately. Just real feeling characters, pure fun, and such an amazing plot and story. If you're looking for a fantastic winter romance read, or a romance read in general, this is it!
Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart again for allowing me the privilege of being able to read this book! I really loved it!
It’s opposites attract at its best in A Winter Wedding Adventure!
Gruff adventure guide Kira never saw herself having anything to do with weddings, but when her company merged with a destination wedding planning service, she had no choice but to adapt if she wanted to keep her job. This week, her task is to drive opera singer Mattia to his best friend’s wedding in snowy Austria, and stay for the week to help with festivities.
Sensitive, soulful Mattia is excited to see his best friend, Alessandra, even if he doesn’t know (or like) her fiancé very much, and he’s tired of Alessandra hovering over him and seeing him as a delicate flower. He’s also not excited to see his ex, Carla, and the drama that might entail.
I loved these two together, especially with the FMC being the grumpy, seemingly tough one and the MMC being the one who’s open to sharing feelings and issues with Kira. She’s not as tough on the inside as she projects, and her kindness and understanding of Mattia come through in unexpected ways. And his character is so genuine and open-hearted—he wants to connect with her and discover what makes her tick. Leonie Mack writes characters with depth and feeling, and you really feel like you know them and can see into their souls.
The setting and side characters really added to the story as well. I felt like I was trapped in the snowstorm with the characters, experiencing the chaos and craziness of wedding prep while stranded without power and with lots of emotion. Overall, this was such a heartfelt, beautiful story and a perfect sequel to An Italian Wedding Adventure (also highly recommend).
Thank you to Boldwood Books and NetGalley for my advance copy. All thoughts and opinions are mine.
My sincere thanks to Boldwood Books and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read A Winter Wedding Adventure by Leonie Mack. I give my unbiased opinion of it in the following review.
In this book, we revisit the new adventure and destination wedding company introduced in An Italian Wedding Adventure. This time we find Kira helping with a wedding in the Alps. She is to pick up an opera singer in Salzburg and get him to the wedding without incident. Well, easier said than done. It appears that Mattia is a little accident prone and the bride who has been his friend since childhood is extra protective of his sensitive heart. Add a lot of snow, an avalanche warning, and her aversion to weddings in general and Kira has her work cut out for her. Oh, and how was she to know she had a weakness for opera music and dark-haired opera boys?
I really liked this book. Kira was a prickly character with a soft center, and I loved that the first time she heard Mattia sing her center got even softer. They are very different from one another, but that made their romance more interesting. Both characters grow over the course of the book. They learn that they are more than what their friends perceive them to be. Mattia is a strong capable, grown man and he gains so much confidence in himself while those around him take notice as well. Kira allows herself to be vulnerable rather than hiding on a rock-climbing outing. Both Kira and Mattia's friend groups show their worth by stepping up and supporting them at the right time. A Winter Wedding Adventure releases on September 2nd. I hope many will pick it up. FYI you do not need to read book one to understand what is happening in this book.
This novel is exactly what it sounds like: an adventure set during wedding festivities in the winter.
Neither Kira or Mattia are characters you might expect to be leads in a story like this, he is an Italian opera singer with extreme misophonia (irritation to certain sounds), she, a jaded adventure guide forced to work on weddings despite her long frosted over heart. Part of her job on this wedding is getting Mattia, one of the groomsmen, to the venue, which sounds straight-forward, but this is a rom-com, after all.
Through lots of mishaps and straight up disasters plaguing the pages, Mattia and Kira get to know each other's true selves, underneath the baggage they carry from their pasts. It's actually a surprisingly tender story, and I really enjoyed watching these two opposites attract so strongly.
Mattia is unlike maybe any character I've ever read. Almost neurotic, but only in certain ways, he's extremely emotionally intelligent, which is useful skill around Kira, who is so guarded she's started to think the walls she has up are just part of her personality at this point. They are so well matched and fun to read about, but of course, the shenanigans in the story are a little bit over the top.
For a true-blue rom-com, this novel does a great job. It's quick, interesting, quirky, and, above all, quite romantic.
Note:: I received an early copy of this book from the publisher through netgalley in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.
If you’ve been following this series, you’ll be happy to know Kira’s back — still the blue-haired adventure guide and reluctant wedding planner we’ve come to love. This time, she’s tasked with getting opera singer Mattia safely to his best friend’s wedding venue. Sounds straightforward… except with Kira, nothing ever is.
This instalment delivered exactly what I needed: plenty of laugh-out-loud moments and characters with just the right mix of quirky charm and down-to-earth wisdom. I also loved seeing misophonia explored in a romcom — and the reminder that “helping” isn’t always helping really hit home.
The crunch of snow underfoot, the smell of cinnamon in the air, the glow of fairy lights against frosty windows… Salzburg at Christmas is pure magic, and the book captures it perfectly. The snowbound chalet scenes made me want to curl up under a blanket with a mug of something hot. Reading it during a South African winter gave me serious FOMO — we get the cold but none of the festive sparkle!
If you love a romcom that blends laughter, heart, and a little wanderlust, pop A Winter Wedding Adventure straight onto your TBR — no matter what the weather’s like where you are. I can’t wait to see whose story we’ll follow next.
Thank you to Leonie Mack, Boldwood Books and NetGalley for the advance review copy!
A Winter Wedding Adventure by Leonie Mack is the second book in the Wedding Adventures series, and it has such a cozy setup: an adventure guide (Kira) + an opera singer (Mattia) + forced proximity in a snowy setting = instant winter vibes. Honestly, the atmosphere was one of my favorite parts. Even though I read it in summer, it made me want to curl up in a cabin with hot chocolate.
The romance tropes here are some of my absolute favorites—grumpy x sunshine, opposites attract, and best of all: he falls first. Mattia wears his heart right on his sleeve, while Kira is much more emotionally distant because of her past. Watching her slowly open up to him was sweet and satisfying, and I loved the balance their personalities created.
That said, I didn’t quite connect with the characters as much as I wanted to. They had their moments, but sometimes I found them a bit frustrating or hard to relate to. I also had to get used to the third-person writing style, which occasionally made it tricky to know whose POV I was in.
Overall, this is a cute and charming winter romance that delivers on the cozy vibes and tropey goodness, but it didn’t fully grab me the way I hoped. Still, if you love grumpy x sunshine, snowy romance settings, and don’t mind a bit of slow burn, this could be right up your alley!
Okay, this book was EXACTLY what I needed for the holiday mood 🎄✨ A wedding on New Year’s Eve? Drama guaranteed. Add some snow, family chaos, and sparks flying… and boom, I couldn’t put it down.
Kira is this badass mountain guide—hiking, climbing, skiing (I don’t ski but hey, I climb and hike, so I totally felt her vibe 💪). The funny part? She hates weddings (long story, bad past experience), yet here she is… working as a wedding planner. Life has jokes. 😂
Enter Matias—the bride’s childhood friend. Of course she doesn’t want to get involved. Of course she can’t resist him. And honestly… SAME. He’s adorable, charming, and totally worth breaking your “no wedding, no romance” rules for. 🥴💘
The slow burn? Chef’s kiss. Leonie really knew how to keep me hooked—drama, romance, comedy, all sprinkled with festive chaos. I was smiling, swooning, and low-key screaming at the characters to just admit their feelings already.
Definitely picking up the rest of the series now because I NEED more of these couples. Perfect book to read with a hot chocolate and Christmas lights twinkling in the background.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 (because I loved it, but also I had to yell at them too much 😆)
Happy release day, Leonie! This one goes straight to my festive recs 🎉
We are just entering spooky season and I found myself skipping ahead and reading and enjoying this story of a winter wedding adventure. Filled with the beauty and difficulties of winter weather it is the story of two very different characters, Kira an adventure guide, and Mattia an opera singer, that are thrown together for a wedding. Kira is prepared for just about any adventure but wedding preparations and how she feels when she’s around Mattia has her confused and questioning herself. Mattia also finds himself questioning things he always thought to be true about himself and his life. Can these two very different people find a way to be together? I liked the way Kira and Mattia brought out the best in each other and accepted each other as they are. This acceptance allows each of them to start to accept themselves and start to figure out what they truly want. The winter mountain setting provided a beautiful backdrop for the story. Plus I always find a wedding to be full of interesting hiccups and situations that hold my attention and capture my emotions. This is part of a series but can be read and enjoyed as a standalone. I am looking forward to reading more wedding adventures in this series.
Thanks to Love Book Tours and the publisher for the gifted copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I am loving this series so much and this is only the second book.
And wow we get to know Kira who popped up in book 1 a whole lot better in this one and I loved everything I learned about her.
Mattia is a rather sensitive opera singer, who seems a bit naïve as to elements of real life. He has super hearing, and seems to be rather accident prone too.
Which is why Kira has to as her first job in assisting at this wedding, accompany Mattia from Salzburg to Tyrol to get him to the wedding party in one piece, before you take into account the various far more adventurous things she is there to actually do.
I loved the dynamic between Kira and Mattia, and really enjoyed it when they were both in the same scenes.
And the setting of this book was spectacular, Leonie Mack is really onto a winner with these adventure weddings. There is action, drama, emotion and just about everything you can hope for in a book, plus a lovely romance too.
It's just brilliant, and I loved Kira come into her own, and develop as the story progresses, especially with confidence in how to handle weddings, given her own past.
What a fabulous book, I loved every second of it. And can't wait for the next book in this series.
Thank you to Boldwood Books and Netgalley for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.
Who doesn't love a bookcation? When you get to take a trip to the snowy mountains while living in the Texas heat of the summer, I say yes. I always love a winter/Christmas story. While I am not a skier myself, I always love to read about others adventures, while I stay inside with a cup of hot chocolate. The setting was magical—Christmas markets, throw in a must need snowbound delay, and a wedding that has so many laugh out loud disasters. more than its fair share of disasters. The main characters are Kira and Mattia and they both have their own baggage :) Kira is cautious, grounded in nature and Mattia with his eccentric charm. I enjoyed the banter. Add forced proximity, playful moments, and the amazing setting of the snowy mountains. The wedding agency backdrop continues to shine—once again pulling off impossible situations with flair. I did not realize this was the second book in a series, so I need to go back to read book one and I am looking forward to book three. Thank you to NetGalley for an advanced copy, make sure to add this to your TBR when you are ready for a winter escape.
When Kira’s destination wedding agency always goes above and beyond, she quickly finds herself out of her element when she has to escort an opera singer to the wedding venue. Should be an easy task, right? But as the weather takes an unexpected turn, and each wedding disaster brings them together, they discover blooming feelings that become increasingly difficult to ignore. Not to mention, there are mistletoes everywhere!
Mattia and Kira are complete opposites, but the tension and attraction were immediate! Kira knows she shouldn’t have feelings for Mattia because he’s part of the wedding and partially because she’s jilted from her history with love. However, Mattia has this way of peeling Kira’s walls down and rethinking her reservations. His level-headed thinking and always really looking at Kira had my heart warming.
I enjoyed watching Mattia and Kira gradually attract each other and slowly break each other down. It was a true opposites attract, and I was here for it! The pacing in the beginning took its time, but it set the stage for the rest of the story.
I appreciate the opportunity to have received an advance copy and my review is honest and voluntary.
A very light-hearted romance that will captivate you with its story and characters. Kira and Mattia's personalities complemented each other so well that I found myself rooting for them to kiss from their first interaction. They vibed perfectly together, and I could sense the profound impact they'd have on each other by the end. A charming forbidden-ish romance where the "wedding planner" and a "bridesman" fall for each other? It wasn't in my plans, but I'm SO glad I gave it a go. The third-person narrative allowed their perspectives to blend seamlessly, which enhanced my enjoyment of the book as a refreshing change from what I'm used to. Very well executed. I had never read a book by this author before, but the title immediately piqued my interest. Going in blindly, I never expected to enjoy it as much as I did. I loved it! I became so invested that I now wish for a follow-up novel focusing on Ginny's journey to find love.
Thank you, NetGalley and the publisher, for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
This is the second book in the 'A Winter Wedding Series' to be honest I didn't realise it was a series when I requested the book I was just dazzled by the snowy cover. I still enjoyed the book as a standalone but I think I would have got more out of it had I read the previous book, 'An Italian Wedding Adventure'. as I believe the MC in this book Kira is best friends with the bride from the first, so there were a few references I didn't get.
Firstly the book is set at a destination wedding in Salzburg, Austria. Which honestly, just sounds like an amazing dreamy location. Kira works for a destination wedding agency, and as such it is her job to escort a VIP guest to the chalet resort. Due to heavy snow she is stranded with the stranger, who happens to be an eccentrica Italian opera singer, Mattia. The pair couldn't be more opposite, but you know what they say....
This was a really enjoyable read. The pair were quire obviously meant for each other and it was lovely too see their love blossom on the page.
Thak you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for a copy of this delightful book in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own,
I didn't realise that this is the second book in the series, I haven't read the first one (yet) but that didn't spoil my enjoyment of the book. I thought the description of the setting in Austria and it's mountains was excellent, it made me want to throw a blanket over myself. Kira comes across as suffering for years following a disastrous experience affected her emotionally, leaving her scared of any serious emotional relationships. I m not a fan of opera, but would love to hear Mattia sing. He has problems of his own, especially a hypersensitivity to noise which caused a previous relationship to fail. Seeing how these two gradually begin to fall for each other is the backbone of the book, set against the trials and tribulations of trying to organise a winter wedding in a remote mountain chalet. There are a couple of non-explicit spicy scenes. Definitely worth a read, but be prepared and keep a warming drink handy. I received an advance copy of this book from the publisher through Netgalley, however this did not influence my review of the book.
A Winter Wedding Adventure delivers exactly what the title promises: a cozy, romantic escape to the snow-covered Dolomites. Leonie Mack paints a beautiful wintry setting that’s easy to get lost in, and the emotional depth of Mattia was a standout — quiet, layered, and genuinely compelling.
Kira’s character arc was also well done. Her journey from emotional detachment to understanding that vulnerability isn’t weakness felt earned and satisfying. I appreciated how her past heartbreak informed her choices, even if some elements (like the “big secret” around being left at the altar) felt underwhelming and too easy to guess.
While the romance itself was sweet, it followed a very familiar trajectory. There weren’t many surprises, and some moments felt a little too safe or expected. That said, if you’re in the mood for a comforting read with a touch of holiday magic, this one might be exactly what you need.
