4 MINE STARS

This story is of Santino Franco, ex-NFL superstar whose career, and almost his life, has ended thanks to his fugitive father’s handiwork. Santino is looking for answers and the only one who he thinks can help him is the last person he wants to ask; his father’s ex-fiancée, Bindi Paxton. He is not a happy man.

Bindi is the only daughter of a Senator whose life has turned its back on her. This woman loathes her beauty and lacks self-worth. She’s used her looks as her only currency and now wishes to no longer trade. Bindi is not happy... “She slammed into joy the way somebody might walk into a door.” ...and has done some pretty low things to get by in life despite her wealth and stature.

 photo image.jpg1_zps15wemgwn.jpg

The novel begins with Santino’s POV and through his thoughts, I despised Bindi before having even met her. However, once in her POV, I quickly came to like her. I could understand Santino’s perception of her yet, I understood why Bindi had done the things she had done and how she struggled with feeling worthy and seeking redemption.

What starts off as a strategic game to outmaneuver one another turns into a second chance for two people who have lost all hope.

“We’re playing your game, that means you’re mine tonight.”

The chemistry between Santino and Bindi, no matter the game - attack or surrender – or motive – greed, destruction or attraction - was searing.

“Tonight I learned your taste, how soft the skin on your thighs is, what it feels like to open you with my finger. I’m not going to blank slate that by getting in another woman’s bed.” Oy. silk wasn’t made to withstand this kind of blunt talk, so her panties were either becoming soaked straight through or were simply dissolving."

I loved how Ms. Perry created MCs that were complex and flawed and that their journey of self-discovery and transformation was realistic and endearing. This was a fast and entertaining read. Well written and I enjoyed the cat and mouse dialogue between Santino and Bindi. It was witty, blunt, at times loaded with double entendres and also oozed sexual tension. While this is the fourth book in a series, it can be read as a standalone. I'd recommend this book.

I love Lisa Marie's books. And this one did not disappoint! She has a way of writing that makes you fall in love with all of her characters.

This story is about Santino and Bindi. Santino is coming off a major injury that ruined his NFL career and a huge betrayal from his father. Bindi was engaged to Santino's father, but after his crime he went on the run and the engagement was called off.

Santino tracks down Bindi in hopes of finding his father's hiding place. And here starts the love story. Both of them are timid at first after being betrayed by their loved ones.

Watching his face transform as he chuckled almost turned her legs into wet noodles. Mr. Big Bad Strong and Silent could smile like that?

While reading the previous books in this series, I really disliked the parent's - the Blues - they way they treat their daughters was horrid. However after reading this book, Bindi's parents make them look like angles! lol

"I'm okay with myself. And you - are you ok with me?" "I have to be, since I'm in love with you."

This love story is sweet, romantic and keeps you engaged till the very end. I would recommend this book and the whole series to everyone!!

☆ I received an ARC via the author in exchange for an honest review. Thank you! ☆

Mine Tonight tells the story of a politician’s daughter and a broken ex-football player-- both of whom are just looking for answers.

I liked the dynamic of this plot, as both characters must confront their past and present in order to forge their own futures.

There is an element of healing, there is one of growing, and there is one of unconditional love.

I really enjoyed this fourth installment as we not only get transferred to an exotic and transcendent setting, but we also get to venture on a journey of second chances at life and self-worth and discovery. It was very fulfilling and satisfying to see these characters reform and find absolution.

Definitely a book to one-click and sign that I need to read the first three books in this series!! Haha

Mine Tonight is a story of second chances, of facing the past to get on with the future, and a story of two people so battered and torn from life's experiences who finally learn to trust.
Bindi, the heroine, is a very complex character with a background I wasn't expecting for a politician's daughter. Santino is a damaged NFL player with some serious physical issues after a particularly nasty tackle that left him badly injured. Their history together is quite long and complicated. The past can't be changed. But coming together now as they have will be different, and if they can both get past their own pain and lack of trust maybe they have a shot.
Lisa Marie Perry has a very modern writing style and the two main characters, despite their flaws, are loveable nonetheless.

Lisa Marie Perry weaves a tale of redemption and love that you don't want to miss!

*I was gifted a copy from the author for an honest review*

I read "Mine Tonight" during writing breaks and at first, I wasn't sure what to make of our former-golddigger-senators-daughter-who-was-turning-over-a-new-leaf, but as more of Bindi's complicated and traumatic past came to light, I just wanted to reach through the book and hug her. And Santino, who is Bindi's former fiancé's son, follows Bindi to ask for her help in finding his missing father, who is on the lamb after terrible revelations have been brought to light. Although they don't like each other, an attraction has always burned bright between them and once they are alone, it explodes. But both of these characters have trust issues, and although they agree to work together, Bindi is determined to keep her distance. However, once they let the other in, they find something in each other they've never had before; somewhere safe to belong.

For me, this was a perfect redemption love story that touched every part of my heart, and proved that no matter how damaged you think you may be, you are still deserving of love.

Mine Tonight by Lisa Marie Perry is a contemporary romantic suspense about Bindi Paxton, a woman who’s been dumped by her fiancé and lost her shot at TV stardom, and Santino Franco, the heir to a football dynasty whose career-altering injury and family betrayal haunts him deeply. What begins as a one-night fling on the Seychelles turns into a dangerous, emotional journey as Santino drags Bindi into his search for his fugitive father, and both of them are forced to confront painful pasts.

From the moment Bindi makes the decision to escape to a tropical island, I felt her heartbreak and her yearning to reinvent herself. Her vulnerability is what makes her so real. She’s not just a beauty with a spoiled life, but someone painfully aware of her mistakes and the people she lost. Santino, on the other hand, carries anger, regret, and a complicated relationship with his father, Alessandro. Their sizzling chemistry is offset by deep emotional scars: he’s struggling with more than just his career-ending injury, she’s wrestling with trust and self-worth. Watching them tiptoe around each other, balancing desire with suspicion, was both tender and fraught.

Perry’s writing pulses with energy and poignancy. The pacing is brisk, the suspense around Santino’s father gives the romance purpose beyond the erotic tension yet she takes enough time to let both characters’ backstories breathe. The setting of Seychelles feels lush and isolating in just the right way: a place for Bindi to run, but also where truths are dragged into the light. Some of the secondary plot threads (especially around Alessandro’s betrayals) are complex, and there were moments I wished for more depth or clarity, but overall, I found the interplay between love and redemption compelling.

Reading Mine Tonight left me with a mix of warmth and ache. I admired how these two flawed people learned to lean into each other even when their histories threatened to push them apart. It’s a romance that doesn’t pretend the past didn’t happen, instead, it embraces the pain, and shows that healing can begin in unexpected places.

Rating: 4/5 — I loved the emotional stakes, the character growth, and the mix of suspense and passion; I’m giving it four stars because while some plot points felt a little familiar, the heart of the story more than made up for it.

"Mine Tonight" by Lisa Marie Perry

"What I enjoyed from this read...

This turned out to be a very interesting story of Bindi Paxton and Santino Franco who learn get a good lesson in trusting each other. I will say to truly understand what all has gone on in this story I would suggest you read all the previous series of 'The Blue Dynasty 1-3.' With saying that we find Bindi a reporter has been dumped by her finance (Santino's father) and tries to escape it all by going to the Seychelles Islands only Santino Franco is in the need of answers to finding his father so this is where this story gets interesting. What will happen when these two meet up is somewhat predictable however, there will be some twist and turns that will be presented making "Mine Today" a captivating story with both of these main characters who have been battered having to face their past in order to get on with their future. I found for the most parts of this novel all of the characters especially some from the other series well developed, well portrayed and believable giving the reader a well written story.

What I especially liked about this read....

I liked how this author presented Bindi who had a very complicated life was able to finally come out of that hold her father had on her. I often wondered what made her tick then finding out about what had happened to her at a early age did make the read a little more understandable as to why she was steered to older men. However, having meet having met Santino would this be a life changing experience for Bindi?

In the end what will happen as Bindi and Santino let each other into their life? Will there be any redemption for these two in this story? This is where I say to find out the answer to these questions and more you must pick up "Mine Today" to see how this author presents such a wonderful good read to the readers. It will be a very intriguing read in the end!

I so love it when an author recommends the blog to another author for me to review their books. Especially a Harlequin author. Its an honor to review Ms. Perry's book today. I will admit that I've heard of her but never read her. Let me tell you, I will not make that mistake again.

A couple of things to keep in mind about the book. Its connected to a series but it can read as a standalone. That said, I felt like there were some things that were left open ended that could be continued. I actually like that when an author is writing a series. Yes, this book ends with Santino and Bindi's story but the arc of the book is still there. And yes, Santino has a brother named Nate and his book is the first in the series. I need to read his book because I need to read how the story arc started in the first place. Again...this is a stand alone but if you are like me, I'm nosy and want to know how the story arc started. :)

As you can tell this book is from Harlequin's Kimini line. It features African American's and their romance. But what truly makes this book stand out for me is that Bindi and Santino are mixed. And in Bindi's case, there is a cross of religions too. Oh yes, Ms. Perry wrote a perfect scene with Bindi near the end of the book that was poignant and real. Bindi figured out that its okay to be different and not let anyone tell you different.

Bindi's story is heartbreaking at best. At first you think the worst of her but once her back story is laid out, you can truly understand the hellious upbringing that she had with her parents. Her parents need to be slapped HARD. It shaped Bindi into the person that she became but NOT the person that she becomes at the end of the book. Bravo! Bindi has some laugh out loud moments in the book and she really can put Santino in his place.

Santino...wow, just wow. Having a career ending injury and then finding out that someone close to you had a hand in it? Dang! No wonder he was mad throughout most of the book. Plus, to have to deal with the effects of ED...Ms. Perry did her research on this. No one is the same but she handled it with grace and dignity. Okay and some naughtiness. :) I loved this man. Hard edged, loyal and head over heels in love with woman that he shouldn't be.

If I had to say anything "bad" about the book is that its over. I truly loved Binid and Santino despite everything that was stacked against them. They are a great couple that truly belong together regardless of the hurdles that they have to overcome.

I realize that my review might be somewhat vague and I'm sorry. There is so much going on individually and then as a couple that its hard to put into words how much I loved them. Its sexy, thoughtful, sad and then uplifting in the end. You are on a rollercoaster ride but its totally worth it in the end.

In Mine Tonight by Lisa Marie Perry, we learn what men and women will do for money and power.

Bindi Paxton had a shot at stardom until her fiancé dumped her. Now all she wants is to get out of Las Vegas, and give herself some time to decide on her next action. The beautiful Seychelles are perfect for some relaxation and reflection. That is until, her ex-fiancé’s son shows up. Santino Franco needs to find the man who left him with a career ending injury. As the former heir to the Las Vegas Slayers, Santino wants some answers and since his father has disappeared, he thinks Bindi might have them. Their attraction is not something either wants to act on but then again, how can they resist?

Lisa Marie Perry packs a lot of punch into the pages of Mine Tonight - abusive relationships, gold digging, things lost, and betrayal - all for the sake of money and/or power. It will amazing when the lengths one will go. Lisa Marie Perry also adds in maturing and taking responsibility, and, let’s not forget, passion, acceptance and love. Mine Tonight has two main characters who have a lot on their plate. It does take some time to learn about their motivations and when you do you will be shocked. Intriguing plot, realistic characters and romance make Mine Tonight by Lisa Marie Perry an emotional, captivating tale.

I was provided a copy of the book by the Author for an honest review.

Wow I just finished reading this book, and I love it, love the characters and love how the book turned out to be, I'm gone keep this short since I don't want to give anything away.

The story begging with Santino, he being looking for his father, after his father ran, Santino wants to find his father but the only way he could do that is to find Bini first.

After Bini was dump by her ex fiance, all she wanted to do was to have some peace and quiet, she end up going to a private island, that seems like the perfect paradise, now she is trying to move on, but on the day of Valentine's day she has a party, but what she was not expecting for was that night her life was going to change again, will Bini and Santino give a chance to what they feel for each other, will Santino find his father.

I really love and enjoy reading this book, I love the way how Bini and Santino are with each other, Author Lisa Marie Perry THANKS for introducing me to this awesome book and Amazing Characters love them.

This is the first book that I have read by this author and I was very impressed. Even though I haven’t read the first 3 in the series I was still able to really connect with this book. I like the author’s style of writing; it’s easy to follow and this was a really great read.

The characters Bindi and Santino were so great to read about. They were no where near even being friends when they first met, but seeing them come together was amazing. I loved following their story. There was such chemistry and passion between them…how could they deny it. By the way I absolutely loved the ending of this book.

I won’t give away any spoilers so you’ll just have to take my word for it. This was an excellent book with great characters and I can’t wait to read the first 3 now. I give this book 5***** all the way around and highly recommend it. Looks like I found myself another great author to read.

In Mine Tonight (The Blue Dynasty #4) by Lisa Marie Perry, Bindi Paxton has lost everything, her chance at having her own TV show and her fiancé all at once. All her “friends” turned their backs on her after they learned what happened and now all she wants to do is get out of town, taking the vacation she was going to take with her fiancé to Seychelles Islands, take a break and start over again. But things don’t go exactly as she planned.

Santino Franco has always been attracted to his father’s fiancé, but she is nothing more than a gold digger. And after what his father did, he believes that she is the link to catch his father and bring him to justice. So when he learns that Bindi left Las Vegas and went to the Seychelles Islands, he believes that she may be meeting his father or know something to lead Santino to him. Read More...

Another great book from the Blue Dynasty series. Mine Tonight by Lisa Marie Perry gives a further look into unscrupulous dealings of Alessandro Franco and his relationship with his ex-girlfriend Bindi Paxton and his son, Santino, who is searching answers as to why he paid to have him injured.

We also get to see a real relationship develop between Bindi and Santino once all the dark secrets are revealed. I was so happy to see that Bindi and Santino got their own story despite their hatred for each other, I could see sparks in the previous stories. If you haven't had a chance to read the Blue Dynasty series, I recommend that you add it to your collection. Lisa, I appreciate you sending me a ARC digital copy to read and review.

This is the fourth book in the Blue Dynasty series. This one does not have anything to do with the Blue family though, as did the previous three. This one is about Bindi Paxton and Santonio Franco. If you have read the previous three books you will recognize the names. Bindi was engaged to Alasandro Franco who owned the Las Vegas Slayers, an NFL team, prior to the Blue family purchasing them. Santonio was Al's son. Thus Bindi and Santonio hooking up is a little creepy.

The best parts of these books is there is actually a pretty good story, unlike other "romance" novels I have read. Not enough NFL without the Blue family though. They are involved in the story but only peripherally.

Quick read that wraps up the series...I think.

Redemption, Renewal, Rekindled, & Rejuvenation.

I found Bindi to be a B&*#ch (with all capital letters) in the previous books. When I leaned she was to be Santino's love interest I almost did not want to mark the book as to-read.

This may have been the best of the series for me thus far. I found the dynamics to be filling and the struggle for the two of them to be real.

I look forward to more from Perry in this series.

Plus, it's super-sexy, fast-paced, and Lisa's voice is so easy and fun to read. I highly recommend it!!

CONCEPT
The concept of this story was a man trying to find his father falls for his father’s ex-fiancé.

STORY
After being dumped by her fiancé and losing her shot at TV stardom, Bindi Paxton just wants to get out of town. But there's no escaping the past—not even on the beautiful Seychelles Islands. CHARACTERS

He feels his father’s ex-fiancé, Bindi Paxton knows where his father is hiding and follows her to Seychelles Islands to get to the truth. She never felt she could be worthy of someone like Santino. Santino is a man who is recovering from his injury as well as the treachery of his father. DIALOGUE
The dialogue was appropriate for the storyline.

STRUCTURE
Structure and flow of the storyline allowed the readers to change their view of Bindi and realize she was much a victim as Santino with dealing with his father.
OVERALL
Mine Tonight continued the Blue Dynasty saga, but focused on the attraction between Santino Franco and Bindi Paxton. Santino felt that Bindi was hiding the whereabouts of Franco’s father and felt that she was in on the crime he committed. He didn’t realize that Bindi was finished with his father and just wanted to get her life back on track and live for herself. Bindi was also trying to fight the attraction to Santino and once he found her on the island, the two gave into the attraction and experience one explosive night. Santino was insistent Bindi was hiding information but could not overlook his attraction to her and his need to be with her. The two tried to explore a relationship but with all that had transpired, could they learn to trust each other. Overall, Mine Tonight was good read.

"It’s atypical of a traditional romance — girl meets boy’s father then meets boy — making this tale unforgettable. Everyone can relate to the idea of getting and giving a second chance, and the sincerity exhibited by the characters is endearing" (RT Book Reviews, 4 stars).

I loved this novel... there was a story within a story with finding Alessandro Franco and the love story of Bindi Paxton and Santino Franco. Bindi has early sexual abuse issues at the hands of her political father. I commend the author in telling Bindi's story and making sexual abuse a major issue in relationships. I commend Santino on how he loves his woman.
