While my parents search for my future wife, a pretty painter arrives at the palace and ruins everything in the best possible way…

I'm the crown prince and tabloid regular who couldn't find a bride by thirty-five so now my fate is being decided for me. As the palace fills with eligible princesses, Addison Cross shows up to compete for the esteemed royal artist position. I never thought I'd see her again.

There are too many reasons why she needs to leave. Her being my friend's little sister is close to the top. Plus, I'll be engaged any day now with a wedding and child not far behind. The timing is terrible and we're both off-limits. It's trouble in the making, but that doesn't stop us.

We break every rule to be together. We sneak out at midnight, steal moments in corridors, and choose each other in secret as everyone around me plans a marriage I don't want. Now I'm hiding a forbidden affair from those who control my future while falling for the one woman I can never have.

The Royal Situation is a forbidden, secret-romance, royal rom-com with a happily ever after! It can be read as a stand-alone, but for the full Billionaire Situation Series experience, please start with The Wife Situation. Included: spicy scenes and a charming disaster prince who'd burn down a kingdom just to keep her.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4/5 stars)

This was such a fun read and honestly, Lyra Parish just does not miss when it comes to entertaining romance.

The premise is classic royal chaos. Prince Louis is being forced to choose a wife after a lifetime of playboy behavior, only to meet Addison Cross right before he’s handed a list of acceptable brides. Timing really said “not today.”

Addison was content with her life as an artist and not really looking for love, but entering the royal artist competition puts her directly in Louis’s orbit… and of course things escalate quickly.

Some thoughts:

- I was able to suspend disbelief enough to go along with the insta-love, but I still don’t love that trope. I really wish we had gotten more time for their relationship to build because it would have made the connection feel stronger.

- Louis’s mom? Absolutely awful. There is no world where I would have forgiven her.

- I loved getting a glimpse of Patterson as the protective older brother. That was such a fun crossover moment.

- Davis barely had any page time, but I adored him. That man just wanted to see Hamilton and honestly, same.

- I ended up enjoying this even more than The Hockey Situation (Louis > Patterson 👀), but at this point, I expect to have a good time with anything Lyra Parish writes.

Overall, this was a fun, easy, drama-filled romance that delivered exactly what I wanted.

I can't believe the Billionaire Situation is over, but it has been an amazing journey! I have grown so invested in all these characters. Every single book has been a hit, and The Royal Situation isn't any different. I've always been a sucker for royal romances.

Louis is known as the playboy prince. He made an agreement with his parents to find a bride before he was thirty-five, or they would choose for him. Louis met Addison at an art gallery in NYC; the connection was immediate, but he never expected to see her again.

Addison is a painter who is competing to become the next royal artist. She discovered a chessboard while wandering, moved a piece, and came back only to discover someone had continued the game and left a note.

Addison may not be royal, but she knows how to handle herself like one. She's undeniably bold, intelligent, and isn't willing to back down from what she wants. She fits perfectly with Louis, who is very confident and knows what he wants.

I loved discovering exactly who Louis was without the crown, pulling back all the layers and seeing a side of him many never do. He falls first and is willing to risk everything, even willing to put his love for Addison over his duty as crowned prince. They both played the game of chess to see if they could win against the impossible odds and end up together.

Not only are they forbidden because he's expected to marry a princess, but also due to the fact that Addison is the little sister to Louis's best friend. I loved seeing them make a connection. The banter, tension, and stolen moments had me kicking my feet. I adored their secret romance!

I'll never stop recommending this series; it's now complete, but each book can be read as a standalone. Lyra Parish may be done with this series, but I know she has so many wonderful stories to still tell!

“Now I understand what my grandmother tried to tell me.” I tilt her chin up.
“Which was?”
I hold her gaze. “‘ Real love isn’t always about what you gain. Sometimes, it’s about what you’re willing to lose.’“

The Billionaire Situation series has truly been a blast to experience and the fact that it just ended with a literal ROYAL SITUATION, has me in my feels!

Lyra Parish is an auto read author for me and it’s for a good reason. SHE CAN WRITE LITERALLY ANY TROPE AND MAKE IT AMAZING. Getting to experience this emotional princely romance just solidified that for me.

This story is jam packed with YEARNING, and a love story within a love story. (IYKYK) Playboy Prince Charming, Louis, has to find a bride, quick, but he literally couldn’t get the woman he met in New York out of his head. Addison Cross is everything he wants, but also everything he can’t have.

Now she’s in his castle competing for a position as the royal painter and tempting him at every turn.

“We have to face the fire.”
“And what if we get burned?”
“Suppose we’ll be ash together.”

Y’all, this slow burn romance is so freaking amazing. The absolute yearning that both of these characters feel is next level. Seeing Addison & Louis throw caution to the wind and fight for their HEA made for such a special story.

“I plan on enjoying you until the sun rises, babe. I hope you understand what I have in store for you.”

Addison is such a talented and FIERCE FMC. At the end of the day, she did what she wants and bowed to NO ONE.

“What are you thinking about?” he asks. “How I’d burn it all down again if it meant ending up with you right here.”

If you are ready for a royal romance that will make you believe in soul mates, GO DOWNLOAD, The Royal Situation!

This was such a fun read!

From the beginning I was sucked into this book. Louis & Addison were everything I wanted. The forbidden aspect, with secret relationships, and all the complications his life brought these two, just had me rooting for them!! I laughed in this book and felt emotional for these two also!!

This book is a royal, romcom good time that did get a little messy and kept me so entertained! I absolutely loved Addison and her stand her ground personality. The way Louis absolutely falls for her just had me swooning!!

The complicated family dynamic with the royal family, kept this one feeling tense and added so much to the story!!

Truly such a perfect ending to this series and one that I highly recommend!!!

It's the little details

What happens when you meet the right person but at the wrong time, like you know when your parents are going to organize a marriage because you had your chance well this happened to our prince Louis he meets Addison at an art gallery and he cannot get there interaction out of his mind. Except now she is in his palace competing to paint the royal families portraits.

The slow burn lyra wrote omg yes the willingness to fight it all so they can be together. Another brilliant read by Lyra that i could not put down.

The Royal Situation by Lyra Parish is so much more than a glamorous billionaire romance. Beneath the wealth, power, and royal intrigue is a story about vulnerability, trust, and what it truly costs to love someone in the public eye.

What really stood out to me was the emotional depth. Louis isn’t just powerful—he’s layered, carrying expectations and responsibilities that shape every decision he makes. And Addison doesn’t fade into his world; she challenges it. Their chemistry is undeniable, but it’s the quiet secret meet ups and intimate moments—the conversations, the doubts, the sacrifices—that make their relationship feel real.

The stakes feel authentic, not just dramatic for the sake of it. Every choice matters. Every secret has weight. By the end, I wasn’t just invested in the romance—I was invested in who they were becoming together.

If you love romances that blend luxury and longing with genuine emotional growth, this one lingers long after the last page. I highly recommend this read. Louis and Addison were the perfect couple to end this series with.

Cute story, lovable characters, but Louis’s mom (the queen) should’ve had more consequences for her actions. She was absolutely evil in her villain era and all she has to do is apologize and all is forgiven??? Nope, don’t like that.

I am so sad this amazing series has come to an end. I've enjoyed getting to know all of the billionaires in this series, and each one continues to be better than the last. I thought nobody was going to top Patterson Cross in the last book, The Hockey Situation, but along came Prince Louis and captured Patty's sister's heart and mine.

Prince Louis of Montclaire is trapped. He committed himself to finding a suitable wife and queen by the age of 35 or else his parents would choose for him. He's now 36, he's had an extra year's grace, and he's still no closer to finding someone. Until a chance meeting in New York with artist Addison Cross, he's suddenly hooked. When she turns up in Montclaire to contend for the position of royal artist, he finds himself wanting to spend time with her instead of all the insipid princesses his parents trot out for him. And Addison wants him right back; she's intrigued by the hidden depths of the Playboy prince, and there's something about him that only her artistic eyes can see, the real Louis.

I completely adored Louis; he was so much fun. Although he was a prince, he didn't care about all the titles and snobbery; he just wanted to marry for love, to marry Addison. He was prepared to give everything up for her; he didn't just mention it once, he repeated it several times and even followed through when necessary. Addison was sharp, sassy and very clever as well as beautiful. She was a perfect match for Louis, right down to beating him at chess. She knew what she wanted and was determined to get it, in any way she could.

Louis' mother was a complete bitch, she in no way deserved the forgiveness that both Louis and Addison gave her. I'd have locked her in a tower. I'm guessing it was her husband's love that saved her from even more severe consequences.

I loved how this series has never had a third-act breakup, even when the odds are against the MCs, and things look bleak and desperate, they believe in each other, their love and their strength. It makes a refreshing change.

✨️ Thank you so much to @Lyra Parish for the ARC

💜 “She’s my queen. The most powerful piece on the board”

🔥 “I want to worship every inch of you.”

Louis, the crown prince of Monteclaire, is next in the line of succession and made a deal with his parents that he would be married by thirty-five. However, at thirty-six years old, Louis remains painfully single. Thus, he is forced to choose a bride from a selection of eligible princesses. This scenario becomes even more complicated with the arrival of a certain painter he can’t get his mind off of. Addison Cross arrives in Monteclaire to compete for the highly esteemed position of royal artist but she can’t seem to deny the electric chemistry between her and the prince. The pair can not stay apart and decide to live in the moment and engage in a forbidden and secret affair. As they start to break down each other’s very fortified walls, they can not imagine parting ways. Will Louis choose royal duty over love?

Addison and Louis are one heck of a couple! I knew their chemistry was off the charts during their very first encounter at the end of “The Hockey Situation” but they kept that momentum in this story. As I come to expect from Lyra, the banter and spice were TOP NOTCH - that breakfast scene is forever etched in my memory! Louis is an absolute saint for everything he endured and Addison was a total badass for never backing down and sticking to royal decorum. I really enjoyed the change of scenery and the added high stakes, forbidden tension and twists. Even though I was extremely stressed while reading, it was absolutely worth it! The secret chess matches and note passing were a sweet touch. This was a perfect ending to a great series!

I’ve really enjoyed reading all the books in this series but with The Royal Situation, Ms. Parish has hit it out of the park, saving the best for last!
Louis and Addison’s first meeting happens at an art gallery in New York City, neither knows who the other is; him, the Crown Price of Montclaire, her, one of his friends younger sister, the connection established between them is immediate and undeniable.
They next find themselves in the same place in Louis’s home country. Addison is there competing for the Royal Painters’ position, Louis is home and after not having found a wife up to now, his parents and the royal council have taken it upon themselves and set about screening princesses to arrange his future match for him, with an engagement announcement imminent.
While the search for his future bride goes on & wedding plans are made, this reluctant groom is progressively falling for the artist he cannot have.
Their forbidden relationship develops in secret through stolen moments, chess games, passed notes, and painting sessions as Louis provides the inspiration for Addison’s submission to the competition.
Everything about their budding romance screams that it will not end well and the drama that ensues at the announcement ball is a highlight of the book.
The writing is fabulous and the pacing of the story is spot on.
I loved getting to know these characters through the lens of the other, a very different face to the one they present to the world.
Of course they get their happy ending, but it was really hard fought and not at all certain, and ultimately played out in the public eye, the complete opposite to how it developed behind closed doors and down little used passageways in the palace.
The other plot line I really loved in this was the love story between Louis’ grandmother Isabelle and the then royal artist Henri, so many parallels to Louis and Addison’s romance, thankfully with a different ending.
We’ve been promised that this isn’t the last we’ll see of the characters we’ve grown to love throughout this series and I hope that’s true, but I am looking forward to what comes next from this very talented author.

This book is an absolute delight to read, but then I think that about everything Lyra Parrish writes!

Lyra’s writing always captivates me and holds me
hostage until I read the last page. This book has the typical humor, witty banter and sizzle I love, but it always has a level of tension that is pulled so taught it’s nearly breathtaking at times.

Louis and Addison meet at the art gallery where Addison and her BFF Kendall have paintings on exhibit. These two have an instant connection without knowing the other’s identity. Addison’s older brother warns his friend, Prince Louis aka Prince Charming away from his younger sister. Meanwhile, Louis’s sister has just invited Addison to come to Mountclaire to compete for the royal portrait artist position which will put these two in close proximity for the summer.

Louis is in a quandary because his time is up for choosing his own wife, and his mother the queen is determined to get him engaged to the princess she prefers. Watching Louis fall hard and fast for Addison while she tries to resist is so much fun. These two secretly (not so secretly) spend time together while Louis is subjected to a real life Princess Bachelor.

Addison and Louis have a romantic few weeks yet both realize the obstacles in their path to having a HEA. Both have to step up and show they are willing to risk everything for love.

I really wasn’t a fan of Prince Louis in previous books; however, he completely captured my heart in this book! I enjoyed seeing Patterson’s cameo appearances as Addison’s protective older brother.

I received a free ARC from the author; and I am voluntarily leaving an unbiased review.

The Royal Situation is a must-read! Part of the Billionaire Situation series, this story takes place in a royal setting, where Louis, the heir, must meet the demands of the Crown while also trying to follow his heart after meeting Addison. If you're looking for twists, action and a bit of stress, this is the perfect book for you! Chapter after chapter, a new plot twist unfolds and I was so stressed for the main characters!

I absolutely loved Addison, who, from beginning to end, maintains her confidence, has a sharp wit, and knows exactly what she wants. I appreciated how determined, resilient and self-assured she is. Her boldness always felt well-placed and she truly knows how to read the room. Louis, on the other hand, was just as enjoyable to follow throughout the story. He comes across as confident without being overly cocky. He knows what he wants while still showing a softer side. He listens to others’ perspectives and considers the impact of his actions (even when they require a lot of courage and boldness)!

I hadn’t read any books in this series before, but I will definitely be picking up the others. They all sound so interesting!

Oh my, I have loved this series and so sad it has come to an end but this is the perfect book for the end.

Louis is a character we have seen before and definitely thoughtvif him as a playboy but boy has he changed and made me fall in love with him. He is told by his parents that he needs to find a wife and doesn’t matter if for love it's for the crown. There are several princesses competing to be his Queen.

Addison is an artist and she is there to enter a painting competition. I just love her. She is so perfect.

When the two of them meet, it is love at first sight basically and their interactions just show they are perfect for each other. Just love the chess scene. But Addison is not who would be picked for him so there are several secret meetings between the two of them.

I really loved how they fought for each other. They have such chemistry and conversations together that you find yourself rooting for them. Man, there were some characters that I just wanted to throttle. Such a perfect book and definitely recommend. Thank you Lyra Parish for this book.

4.5 ⭐️ ARC read! Thank you to Lyra 🥰

This is my second ARC for the Billionaire Situation series and I have to say I’m obsessed!

This book follows Addison a famous painter, sister of the cross brothers (hockey players from the last book) and honestly one of my fav FMC. She is feisty, strong and don’t give no fs!

Louis is a prince who needs to find a wife within a timeframe since he didn’t meet his goal of marrying by 35. He is to be the next heir of the throne so the king and queen take it in their hands to find him a wife.

Addison is asked to complete in the Royal portrait position by Delphine (Princess and Louis’s sister). Clearly Addy and Louis hit it off but are forbidden to be together.

Honestly I loved the twist, the humour, the wit and the love story that plays out 🥰🩷👑

The perfect royal fairytale comes true!

The Royal Situation was the last book in the Billionaire Series and Lyra Parish went out with a bang on this one!
Addison is painter and she has brought to compete to become the royal painter for the family. Her and Louis met at her art gallery showing and his sister made the plans for her to compete.
Louis had been told by his parents that since he is the next in line he needs to marry by 30. The problem is he hasn't found anyone that interests him. His grandmother prior to her death taught him about love and not just marrying for the crown. He believed that his one person was out there. Little did he know that he met that person at the gallery showing.
The relationship between Addison and Louis was perfect! They had definite chemistry and I found myself turning pages at a rapid rate not wanting their story to end, but also wanting more.
Im not going to give to away the ending, that is for you to find out. But I will say, you will fall in love with them like I did!

Thank you to Lyra and team for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

While long, I thought this book held so many unexpected twists and turns. The mutual chemistry between Louis and Addison that was so much deeper than just physical attraction- I loved their intellectual conversations and the way they challenged each other.

Truly I did not think anything could top Patterson and Kendall’s story (in the hockey situation) but I was so wrong. The constant chess references (I have never played chess a day in my life but now I want to?!), the painter competition, the princesses fighting to woo the prince, the secret notes, the parallels of history repeating had me devouring this book in less than 24 hours.

F Boy Slayer

“Wow.” He grins. “I don’t think I’ve ever met a Fboy slayer before.”

I could not put down “The Royal Situation”. The crown prince has turned 36 and has not found love on his own yet; ironically he finds someone he thinks could be the one the night before he is set to return to his country to choose his future in a bizarre “Love Island” / “Bachelor” situation the Queen has decided to host in the palace. There is sneaking around, art, chess, women who do not bend, and a prince who falls hard for the first time in his life. “The Royal Situation” is a must read if you like a romance that keeps you on your toes.

Thank you Lyra for this ARC I ate this book up like a snack and thought it about when I wasn’t reading it! By far my favorite book by Lyra so far! The details and connecting points, the scandals, the LOVE! I couldn’t put it down and I am so sad it’s over, but what a perfect ending to a series! If you like instant love, royals, chess, scandals, older brothers friend and some good spice this is your book, don’t walk RUN and grab yours now! 💜👑 also I am going to need this to be turned into a movie so Lyra can we pretty please with a cherry on top get that ball rolling 🤪🥹

Can we please talk about how amazing this book is?! Louis is the definition of Prince Charming, or if you’re Addison “Drama King”.

I was absolutely blown away by this. While I’m sad to see this series end, she definitely saved the best for last. Prince Louis and Addison go thru so much in this book, trying to hide their love. It definitely gives Bridgerton season 4 vibes but if the lead was a royal.

Lyra ended this series off with a royal bang. I have loved this series but this book was my favorite. Addison and Louis were absolutely fabulous together. Lyra Parish delivers another unforgettable romance with The Royal Situation—easily her best yet. As the final book in the Situation series (and one of my all-time favorites), it’s both satisfying and bittersweet to say goodbye. This standalone rom-com has everything: royal romance, best friend’s sister, age gap, secret relationship, reformed playboy, opposites attract and he falls first.

Prince Louis has until 35 to marry for love—but when that fails, his family steps in. Just as he’s ready to accept his fate, he meets Addison Cross, a talented artist who’s everything he’s ever wanted and completely off-limits. She’s his best friend’s younger sister and competing for the royal artist position at the palace. Avoiding her is going to be nearly impossible.

Louis is peak swoon: charming, devoted and willing to risk everything for love. Once he falls, he falls hard and I was all in right along with him. Addison is just as compelling: strong, talented, and unapologetically herself. She’s no damsel—she knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to fight for it.

Their chemistry is instant and electric, with sharp banter and undeniable tension. The emotional pull, the stakes and the way they show up for each other kept me hooked late into the night. And yes—when it gets spicy, it really delivers. Gotta say the scenes in Louis’s personal hideaway had me melting.

This book has it all: heart, heat and a love worth rooting for. A beautiful, binge-worthy romance I’ll be rereading again and again. Absolute top-tier romance gold.

It's the end of the Billionaire Situation series and I think this may be my favourite of them all.

A hidden relationship between a Prince and the girl trying to win the position of royal painter brings the past to the present without even realising.

This is such a sweet story with a drama, quite a bit of spice and a fun meddling sister.

I'm sad the series is over, but excited for what's to come next.

Louis and Addison had chemistry before they even officially met.

They were both so good for each other. And they both found encouragement and acceptance with each other.

The whole sneaking around and forbidden aspect added some tension to the story, but it was still a cute and heartwarming read.

Louis (36) & Addison (28). A prince and a painter, his friend’s sister.

It’s the final book of the series and it doesn’t disappoint. There is lust, chemistry and instalove which I’d exchange for some more realistic timeline of falling in love if I could.

Both MCs are great though; she was suuuuper feisty and he was more than determined. Perhaps the strongest characters of the universe.

-Dual 1st person POV
-Spice: 🌶️🌶️.5

Overall: 4/5 ⭐️

I received an Adv. Readers version of this book and I have given this honest and voluntary review.

Louis' life is not his own - his parents gave him an agreement that if he isn't married by his 35th birthday, then they will find him a princess befitting of becoming Queen when he ascends the throne. He thought he had time when he originally agreed, but now his 35th has snuck up on him with no princess in sight. Too bad he'll never again see the beautiful woman he met at an art gallery awhile ago, because he can't stop thinking about her. Until she appears at the palace for the royal artist job position. She's in his life now, but he can't have her, can he?

Addison's had so many men propose to her, but never said yes. Now the one man who intrigues her, she cannot possibly have. He's the crown prince, and she's an artist competing for the position of royal artist. He's also set to marry the princess his parents choose for him. But the heart wants what the heart wants as they say, and this forbidden relationship has become one they're both willing to fight for. How much are they each willing to give up for their love, though? Everything?

Addison and Louis are by far my favorite couple in this delicious series. Theirs is a slow burn with so much tension and chemistry, and two loveable and complex characters. Louis in particular, got to me the way his life wasn't his own until he seized the reigns and took control, consequences be damned. I wanted to hug the man, well both him and Addison, when they were torn apart. But he wasted no time in getting help (Davis!!) and going and being with his love. I'm going to miss this series, but Lyra definitely saved the best couple for last.

This is my honest review of The Royal Situation

This book had me right from the start and I could not put it down! Every girl dreams of marrying the love of her life one day, but for it to possibly be a prince? WOW!

I love how Louis always had her best interests at heart, even trying to get her to go back home. He didn’t want to fall in love and then have to keep looking at her knowing he could never have her. Their back and forth banter was incredibly fun and cute. I love the spitfire that Addison is and never holding back on her opinions.

The mutual chemistry was indeed off the charts and they sure were dancing with fire every time they tried to be intimate. This book has all the slow burn and anticipation that one could dream of!

I also loved the love and support from their friends and "some" family members (politics and all that).

This book is for the hopeless romantic that dares to dream that love will be enough to surpass all and any obligations/obstacles, even one of duty to the crown.

Thank you Lyra Parish for this ARC
