I'm the crown prince and tabloid regular who couldn't find a bride by thirty-five so now my fate is being decided for me. As the palace fills with eligible princesses, Addison Cross shows up to compete for the esteemed royal artist position. I never thought I'd see her again.

There are too many reasons why she needs to leave. Her being my friend's little sister is close to the top. Plus, I'll be engaged any day now with a wedding and child not far behind. The timing is terrible and we're both off-limits. It's trouble in the making, but that doesn't stop us.

We break every rule to be together. We sneak out at midnight, steal moments in corridors, and choose each other in secret as everyone around me plans a marriage I don't want. Now I'm hiding a forbidden affair from those who control my future while falling for the one woman I can never have.

The Royal Situation is a forbidden, secret-romance, royal rom-com with a happily ever after! It can be read as a stand-alone, but for the full Billionaire Situation Series experience, please start with The Wife Situation. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4/5 stars)

This was such a fun read and honestly, Lyra Parish just does not miss when it comes to entertaining romance.

The premise is classic royal chaos. Prince Louis is being forced to choose a wife after a lifetime of playboy behavior, only to meet Addison Cross right before he’s handed a list of acceptable brides. Timing really said “not today.”

Addison was content with her life as an artist and not really looking for love, but entering the royal artist competition puts her directly in Louis’s orbit… and of course things escalate quickly.

Some thoughts:

- I was able to suspend disbelief enough to go along with the insta-love, but I still don’t love that trope. I really wish we had gotten more time for their relationship to build because it would have made the connection feel stronger.

- Louis’s mom? Absolutely awful. There is no world where I would have forgiven her.

- I loved getting a glimpse of Patterson as the protective older brother. That was such a fun crossover moment.

- Davis barely had any page time, but I adored him. That man just wanted to see Hamilton and honestly, same.

- I ended up enjoying this even more than The Hockey Situation (Louis > Patterson 👀), but at this point, I expect to have a good time with anything Lyra Parish writes.

Overall, this was a fun, easy, drama-filled romance that delivered exactly what I wanted.

I can't believe the Billionaire Situation is over, but it has been an amazing journey! I have grown so invested in all these characters. Every single book has been a hit, and The Royal Situation isn't any different. I've always been a sucker for royal romances.

Louis is known as the playboy prince. He made an agreement with his parents to find a bride before he was thirty-five, or they would choose for him. Louis met Addison at an art gallery in NYC; the connection was immediate, but he never expected to see her again.

Addison is a painter who is competing to become the next royal artist. She discovered a chessboard while wandering, moved a piece, and came back only to discover someone had continued the game and left a note.

Addison may not be royal, but she knows how to handle herself like one. She's undeniably bold, intelligent, and isn't willing to back down from what she wants. She fits perfectly with Louis, who is very confident and knows what he wants.

I loved discovering exactly who Louis was without the crown, pulling back all the layers and seeing a side of him many never do. He falls first and is willing to risk everything, even willing to put his love for Addison over his duty as crowned prince. They both played the game of chess to see if they could win against the impossible odds and end up together.

Not only are they forbidden because he's expected to marry a princess, but also due to the fact that Addison is the little sister to Louis's best friend. I loved seeing them make a connection. The banter, tension, and stolen moments had me kicking my feet. I adored their secret romance!

I'll never stop recommending this series; it's now complete, but each book can be read as a standalone. Lyra Parish may be done with this series, but I know she has so many wonderful stories to still tell!

“Now I understand what my grandmother tried to tell me.” I tilt her chin up.
“Which was?”
I hold her gaze. “‘ Real love isn’t always about what you gain. Sometimes, it’s about what you’re willing to lose.’“

The Billionaire Situation series has truly been a blast to experience and the fact that it just ended with a literal ROYAL SITUATION, has me in my feels!

Lyra Parish is an auto read author for me and it’s for a good reason. SHE CAN WRITE LITERALLY ANY TROPE AND MAKE IT AMAZING. Getting to experience this emotional princely romance just solidified that for me.

This story is jam packed with YEARNING, and a love story within a love story. (IYKYK) Playboy Prince Charming, Louis, has to find a bride, quick, but he literally couldn’t get the woman he met in New York out of his head. Addison Cross is everything he wants, but also everything he can’t have.

Now she’s in his castle competing for a position as the royal painter and tempting him at every turn.

“We have to face the fire.”
“And what if we get burned?”
“Suppose we’ll be ash together.”

Y’all, this slow burn romance is so freaking amazing. The absolute yearning that both of these characters feel is next level. Seeing Addison & Louis throw caution to the wind and fight for their HEA made for such a special story.

“I plan on enjoying you until the sun rises, babe. I hope you understand what I have in store for you.”

Addison is such a talented and FIERCE FMC. At the end of the day, she did what she wants and bowed to NO ONE.

“What are you thinking about?” he asks. “How I’d burn it all down again if it meant ending up with you right here.”

If you are ready for a royal romance that will make you believe in soul mates, GO DOWNLOAD, The Royal Situation!

This was such a fun read!

From the beginning I was sucked into this book. Louis & Addison were everything I wanted. The forbidden aspect, with secret relationships, and all the complications his life brought these two, just had me rooting for them!! I laughed in this book and felt emotional for these two also!!

This book is a royal, romcom good time that did get a little messy and kept me so entertained! I absolutely loved Addison and her stand her ground personality. The way Louis absolutely falls for her just had me swooning!!

The complicated family dynamic with the royal family, kept this one feeling tense and added so much to the story!!

Truly such a perfect ending to this series and one that I highly recommend!!!

It's the little details

What happens when you meet the right person but at the wrong time, like you know when your parents are going to organize a marriage because you had your chance well this happened to our prince Louis he meets Addison at an art gallery and he cannot get there interaction out of his mind. Except now she is in his palace competing to paint the royal families portraits.

The slow burn lyra wrote omg yes the willingness to fight it all so they can be together. Another brilliant read by Lyra that i could not put down.

Cute story, lovable characters, but Louis’s mom (the queen) should’ve had more consequences for her actions. She was absolutely evil in her villain era and all she has to do is apologize and all is forgiven??? Nope, don’t like that.

The Royal Situation is a must-read! Part of the Billionaire Situation series, this story takes place in a royal setting, where Louis, the heir, must meet the demands of the Crown while also trying to follow his heart after meeting Addison. If you're looking for twists, action and a bit of stress, this is the perfect book for you! Chapter after chapter, a new plot twist unfolds and I was so stressed for the main characters!

I absolutely loved Addison, who, from beginning to end, maintains her confidence, has a sharp wit, and knows exactly what she wants. I appreciated how determined, resilient and self-assured she is. Her boldness always felt well-placed and she truly knows how to read the room. Louis, on the other hand, was just as enjoyable to follow throughout the story. He comes across as confident without being overly cocky. He knows what he wants while still showing a softer side. He listens to others’ perspectives and considers the impact of his actions (even when they require a lot of courage and boldness)!

I hadn’t read any books in this series before, but I will definitely be picking up the others. They all sound so interesting!

The Royal Situation by Lyra Parish is so much more than a glamorous billionaire romance. Beneath the wealth, power, and royal intrigue is a story about vulnerability, trust, and what it truly costs to love someone in the public eye.

What really stood out to me was the emotional depth. Louis isn’t just powerful—he’s layered, carrying expectations and responsibilities that shape every decision he makes. And Addison doesn’t fade into his world; she challenges it. Their chemistry is undeniable, but it’s the quiet secret meet ups and intimate moments—the conversations, the doubts, the sacrifices—that make their relationship feel real.

The stakes feel authentic, not just dramatic for the sake of it. Every choice matters. Every secret has weight. By the end, I wasn’t just invested in the romance—I was invested in who they were becoming together.

If you love romances that blend luxury and longing with genuine emotional growth, this one lingers long after the last page. I highly recommend this read. Louis and Addison were the perfect couple to end this series with.

Oh my, I have loved this series and so sad it has come to an end but this is the perfect book for the end.

Louis is a character we have seen before and definitely thoughtvif him as a playboy but boy has he changed and made me fall in love with him. He is told by his parents that he needs to find a wife and doesn’t matter if for love it's for the crown. There are several princesses competing to be his Queen.

Addison is an artist and she is there to enter a painting competition. I just love her. She is so perfect.

When the two of them meet, it is love at first sight basically and their interactions just show they are perfect for each other. Just love the chess scene. But Addison is not who would be picked for him so there are several secret meetings between the two of them.

I really loved how they fought for each other. They have such chemistry and conversations together that you find yourself rooting for them. Man, there were some characters that I just wanted to throttle. Such a perfect book and definitely recommend. Thank you Lyra Parish for this book.

4.5 ⭐️ ARC read! Thank you to Lyra 🥰

This is my second ARC for the Billionaire Situation series and I have to say I’m obsessed!

This book follows Addison a famous painter, sister of the cross brothers (hockey players from the last book) and honestly one of my fav FMC. She is feisty, strong and don’t give no fs!

Louis is a prince who needs to find a wife within a timeframe since he didn’t meet his goal of marrying by 35. He is to be the next heir of the throne so the king and queen take it in their hands to find him a wife.

Addison is asked to complete in the Royal portrait position by Delphine (Princess and Louis’s sister). Clearly Addy and Louis hit it off but are forbidden to be together.

Honestly I loved the twist, the humour, the wit and the love story that plays out 🥰🩷👑

The perfect royal fairytale comes true!

Thank you to Lyra and team for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

While long, I thought this book held so many unexpected twists and turns. The mutual chemistry between Louis and Addison that was so much deeper than just physical attraction- I loved their intellectual conversations and the way they challenged each other.

Truly I did not think anything could top Patterson and Kendall’s story (in the hockey situation) but I was so wrong. The constant chess references (I have never played chess a day in my life but now I want to?!), the painter competition, the princesses fighting to woo the prince, the secret notes, the parallels of history repeating had me devouring this book in less than 24 hours.

F Boy Slayer

“Wow.” He grins. “I don’t think I’ve ever met a Fboy slayer before.”

I could not put down “The Royal Situation”. The crown prince has turned 36 and has not found love on his own yet; ironically he finds someone he thinks could be the one the night before he is set to return to his country to choose his future in a bizarre “Love Island” / “Bachelor” situation the Queen has decided to host in the palace. There is sneaking around, art, chess, women who do not bend, and a prince who falls hard for the first time in his life. “The Royal Situation” is a must read if you like a romance that keeps you on your toes.

Thank you Lyra for this ARC I ate this book up like a snack and thought it about when I wasn’t reading it! By far my favorite book by Lyra so far! The details and connecting points, the scandals, the LOVE! I couldn’t put it down and I am so sad it’s over, but what a perfect ending to a series! If you like instant love, royals, chess, scandals, older brothers friend and some good spice this is your book, don’t walk RUN and grab yours now! 💜👑 also I am going to need this to be turned into a movie so Lyra can we pretty please with a cherry on top get that ball rolling 🤪🥹

Can we please talk about how amazing this book is?! Louis is the definition of Prince Charming, or if you’re Addison “Drama King”.

I was absolutely blown away by this. While I’m sad to see this series end, she definitely saved the best for last. Prince Louis and Addison go thru so much in this book, trying to hide their love. It definitely gives Bridgerton season 4 vibes but if the lead was a royal.

Louis' life is not his own - his parents gave him an agreement that if he isn't married by his 35th birthday, then they will find him a princess befitting of becoming Queen when he ascends the throne. He thought he had time when he originally agreed, but now his 35th has snuck up on him with no princess in sight. Too bad he'll never again see the beautiful woman he met at an art gallery awhile ago, because he can't stop thinking about her. Until she appears at the palace for the royal artist job position. She's in his life now, but he can't have her, can he?

Addison's had so many men propose to her, but never said yes. Now the one man who intrigues her, she cannot possibly have. He's the crown prince, and she's an artist competing for the position of royal artist. He's also set to marry the princess his parents choose for him. But the heart wants what the heart wants as they say, and this forbidden relationship has become one they're both willing to fight for. How much are they each willing to give up for their love, though? Everything?

Addison and Louis are by far my favorite couple in this delicious series. Theirs is a slow burn with so much tension and chemistry, and two loveable and complex characters. Louis in particular, got to me the way his life wasn't his own until he seized the reigns and took control, consequences be damned. I wanted to hug the man, well both him and Addison, when they were torn apart. But he wasted no time in getting help (Davis!!) and going and being with his love. I'm going to miss this series, but Lyra definitely saved the best couple for last.

This is my honest review of The Royal Situation

This book had me right from the start and I could not put it down! Every girl dreams of marrying the love of her life one day, but for it to possibly be a prince? WOW!

I love how Louis always had her best interests at heart, even trying to get her to go back home. He didn’t want to fall in love and then have to keep looking at her knowing he could never have her. Their back and forth banter was incredibly fun and cute. I love the spitfire that Addison is and never holding back on her opinions.

The mutual chemistry was indeed off the charts and they sure were dancing with fire every time they tried to be intimate. This book has all the slow burn and anticipation that one could dream of!

I also loved the love and support from their friends and "some" family members (politics and all that).

This book is for the hopeless romantic that dares to dream that love will be enough to surpass all and any obligations/obstacles, even one of duty to the crown.

Thank you Lyra Parish for this ARC

I don’t even know how to properly say goodbye to this series, but if it had to end, Lyra Parish truly delivered with The Royal Situation.

This book completely pulled me in. I laughed, I fell a little in love, I was stressed, I definitely teared up, and by the end I just sat there trying to process everything I’d just experienced.

At its core, this story is about a man whose future has already been decided for him, and the one woman who makes him question all of it.

Prince Louis is running out of time. His future wife is being chosen, the palace is filled with “suitable” princesses, and every expectation placed on him is pushing him toward a life he never truly chose. Then Addison Cross walks back into his life. She's unexpected, completely off-limits, and impossible to ignore.

What follows is a forbidden, deeply emotional love story built in stolen moments, secret meetings, and quiet defiance.

But what truly stood out to me was the fight.

Their journey to be together is messy, complicated, and filled with impossible choices. There are expectations, betrayals, pressure from every direction, and constant consequences for every step they take. It’s not easy, and it’s not simple, but it feels real. And that’s what made it so powerful.

Because the kind of love that survives all of that? It’s built on something deeper.

Louis and Addison don’t just fall for each other—they choose each other, again and again, even when everything is working against them.

One of my favorite elements was the chess motif woven throughout the story. Their hidden notes left beneath the chessboard became a quiet, intimate form of communication in a world where they couldn’t be open. But beyond that, the symbolism of Addison as Louis’s Queen stood out in such a meaningful way. She isn’t someone who stands behind him—she stands beside him. She challenges him, strengthens him, and becomes essential to the life he’s trying to build. Without her, everything begins to unravel.

Their connection goes far beyond physical attraction. It’s rooted in conversation, understanding, and an intellectual chemistry that made their relationship feel layered and believable. And once Louis realizes Addison is the one for him, he never wavers. His love is steady, intentional, and unwavering in a way that makes you believe in every choice he makes.

Addison matches him every step of the way. She’s strong, resilient, and refuses to back down—not from him, not from the situation, and not from what she believes she deserves.

Together, they aren’t just perfect—they’re earned.

This story is filled with tension, longing, emotional highs and lows, and a constant push and pull between duty and love. The stakes are high, the emotions are even higher, and the payoff is absolutely worth it.

I genuinely think this might be my favorite in the series, which says a lot because I’ve loved every book. Saying goodbye to this world and these characters is bittersweet, but this was the perfect way to end it.

Thank you Lyra Parish for sending me this ARC!

The Royal Situation is the final book in a series of interconnected standalones and Lyra decided to end this series with a bang, I loved all books in series but this one was a whole new level and I absolutely loved Louis and Addison’s story!

Addison is an American artist invited to compete for the royal artist position in a small country in Europe. When she meets the crown prince, Louis, there is an instant connection between them, but with Louis expected to marry soon and the palace filling with several princesses competing for his hand in marriage, they need to decide what they are starting to feel for each other and whether they are willing to fight for it.

It’s no secret I love Lyra’s books and, as always, I had a lot of fun with this one, but there were also so many feelings, I laughed, I swooned, I even had tears in my eyes at some moments and I didn’t want this incredible story to end. It’s a challenge to create a fascinating and unique royal romance and Lyra absolutely excelled at that, we got the forbidden relationship with so much yearning and tension it was palpable and two incredible characters willing to do anything and fighting for their love, Louis and Addison were so perfect together and I loved every second I spent reading their story. Addison was really strong with everything that was thrown at her and never gave up and Louis was so different from the playboy prince I expected and quickly stole my heart. I enjoyed their banter, the chess games, the great communication they had and the chemistry between them that I could feel since their first meeting, they didn’t have it easy but the way they were fighting for their love was beautiful and they quickly became one of my favorite couples. I’m so sad this series is coming to an end, I loved all these books so much and I’m really excited for what’s coming next, I hope we will get to see everyone again.

The Royal Situation is an incredible book and a perfect ending to this wonderful series. I 100% recommend it and the whole series to everyone and I already can’t wait for Lyra’s next book!

Lyra has outdone herself with these two. How do you even put into words a book that took you on such a royal romance roller coaster of emotions? First off.. I am so sad that the Billionaire Situation is over. This was such a great series, each book amazing in their own right and the series just got better with each story.

Louis is literally Prince Charming and he has mere weeks at this point to select a bride before his parents and the council choose one for him after putting it off for years. The only problem is he has felt nothing for all the women he has dated, until he meets Addison one serendipitous night at a gallery event in NYC. He never expected to see her again, until she showed up as one of the artists competing to be the next royal family painter.

I will die on this hill that Addison is the baddest baddie of the series. That girl may have been the F Boy slayer, proposed to 12 times before but when she finally finds who is meant to be hers, everyone else better watch out. She is fierce and will stand up for what she believes in and has no problem burning the world down for her king.

" Now I understand what my grandmother was trying to tell me.... Real love isn't always about you gain. Sometimes, it's about what you're willing to lose."
I loved their chess games and how they both saw a side of each other no one else got to see. There were so many little details woven into the story, it kept me up late at night and turning the pages faster to see what was going to happen next.

His mother was absolutely horrific and I do not know if I was in their shoes if I could forgive her for her actions. While I understood her duty to the throne and her country, the things she orchestrated and did to her son would be unforgiveable in my eyes.

This was an incredible story about forbidden romance that was full of twists and and turns, stolen moments, so much yearning between the two of them and and incredible depth of love between two people they are willing to risk it all for each other. I am dying for Delphine to get her own story, that girl is gonna be trouble with a capital T for sure!!!

I was lucky to be gifted an advanced copy by Lyra Parish.

This book bruised my heart for a bit, for more than one reason. The first reason is because it is the final book in the Billionaire Situation series, and series endings always make me a little sad. Saying goodbye to characters is hard, at least until rereads, and I will be rereading this series. The second reason is because royal love stories are not a straightforward affair, and we not only get to witness Prince Louis and Addison’s story, but multiple generations of duty, honour and love. It’s a beautiful, emotional journey that is somehow both heart wrenching and heartwarming. When I started the Billionaire Situation series, I did not see it leading to Montclaire, but I’m so glad it did! It was an amazing way to end the series. So, while it did bruise my heart a little, it healed it too.

Louis is the Crown Prince of Montclaire, friends with Patterson Cross, art lover, known as a playboy, and will be forced into an arranged marriage by his parents if he doesn’t choose a bride. His solution? He creates a 10 category rating system for the women his parents set him up with.

Addison is the little sister of Patterson Cross, an American billionaire, an incredible artist, known as a playboy destroyer, unapologetically direct & herself and at the insistence of Princess Delphine competing to become the new official Royal Portrait Artist. If she wins, she will be the first female Royal artist in Montclaire’s history.

Their chemistry is explosive and so intense it draws them together without them even realizing it. Something keeps putting them in each other’s path, even though they know they should stay away. Their easy banter, the way they challenge each other intellectually and just a little bit of snark and stubbornness are the relationship dynamic of my dreams.

Royal Drama, Forbidden Tension, and the Perfect Send-Off.

Lyra bids us farewell to the Billionaire Situation series with the story of Addison Cross and Prince Louis—and oh my goodness, what a wonderful send-off.
This book captivated me from the very first page. Addison is a strong, self-assured woman who knows her worth—not only as an artist, but as a person—and she isn’t afraid to speak her mind (always with just the right touch of elegance). People underestimate her constantly… and that’s exactly when she proves she’s not someone to be trifled with. I loved her for that.
And then we have Louise…
The pressure, the expectations, the constant weight of duty—you can feel it in every single scene he’s in. Watching him struggle between what’s expected of him and what he wants? Yeah, that had me completely hooked.
Together? Absolute chaos—the best kind.
The tension between Addison and Louise is everything. The banter is sharp, the chemistry is undeniable, and every interaction feels charged with something that’s just waiting to explode.
The royal setting adds this delicious layer of pressure and forbidden energy—every glance, every word, every moment between them feels like it could tip everything over the edge. Because in their world, love isn’t just complicated… it’s risky.
But beneath all the tension and drama, there’s something deeper here—identity, expectations, and the courage it takes to choose your own path when the world has already chosen one for you.
Watching Addison and Louise navigate all of that, while slowly giving in to something they know they shouldn’t want? Pure perfection.
If you love:
✨ Strong, confident heroines who don’t back down
✨ Royal romance with high stakes
✨ Intense chemistry and emotional tension
✨ Characters who make you gasp, stress, and fall in love all at once
…this book is absolutely for you.
I devoured it, I gasped out loud more than once, and I’m honestly not ready to say goodbye to this series.
What a way to end it.

I am so sad this amazing series has come to an end. I've enjoyed getting to know all of the billionaires in this series, and each one continues to be better than the last. I thought nobody was going to top Patterson Cross in the last book, The Hockey Situation, but along came Prince Louis and captured Patty's sister's heart and mine.

Prince Louis of Montclaire is trapped. He committed himself to finding a suitable wife and queen by the age of 35 or else his parents would choose for him. He's now 36, he's had an extra year's grace, and he's still no closer to finding someone. Until a chance meeting in New York with artist Addison Cross, he's suddenly hooked. When she turns up in Montclaire to contend for the position of royal artist, he finds himself wanting to spend time with her instead of all the insipid princesses his parents trot out for him. And Addison wants him right back; she's intrigued by the hidden depths of the Playboy prince, and there's something about him that only her artistic eyes can see, the real Louis.

I completely adored Louis; he was so much fun. Although he was a prince, he didn't care about all the titles and snobbery; he just wanted to marry for love, to marry Addison. He was prepared to give everything up for her; he didn't just mention it once, he repeated it several times and even followed through when necessary. Addison was sharp, sassy and very clever as well as beautiful. She was a perfect match for Louis, right down to beating him at chess. She knew what she wanted and was determined to get it, in any way she could.

Louis' mother was a complete bitch, she in no way deserved the forgiveness that both Louis and Addison gave her. I'd have locked her in a tower. I'm guessing it was her husband's love that saved her from even more severe consequences.

I loved how this series has never had a third-act breakup, even when the odds are against the MCs, and things look bleak and desperate, they believe in each other, their love and their strength. It makes a refreshing change.

Just soo good!!

I love how strong willed the women in this series are!!
They certainly need to be.

On the heels of Patterson and Kendall's HEA in The Hockey Situation, we get Patterson's sister's story - Addison - and the intensity of the connection between her and Louis was so enjoyable.

Louis is the prince of Montclaire, and visiting New York with his sister Delphine. He finds himself viewing artwork at a gallery she dragged him to, and finds Addison admiring the same piece he is - and Bam! - he's smitten! Little does he know he already has solid, deep connections to people in her life, and the way she will whip up his entire life in the future.

This has everything we love to read from this creative author, and I found it hard to pull myself from this storyline. The intelligent connection between them is just as engaging as the sizzling chemistry they share, and I appreciate how quickly they fall for eachother. Unfortunately there are major forces working against Louis' choice in a relationship, as he is arranged to be with another "more suitable" woman by his kingdom's rules and traditions.

Along the way to their HEA they have secret rendezvous, stolen moments and interactions they feel are not obvious to anyone. Oh, but they are absolutely obvious - and long story short - there's quite a fight to be had, to end up together!! Betrayals, tested friendships and loyalties, manipulations, and desperation all swirl around the palace and this couple and there is a roller coaster ride of emotions and pulse pounding dramas.

I absolutely recommend reading in order so the connections all make sense and you avoid spoilers. A binge of the entire series is the ultimate way to enjoy! While I am sad that this is the last in this collection, I am really excited to see where this talented author takes us next!

I am thrilled to have received my ARC from the author as part of her ARC team (thank you), and happily leave my thoughts. :)

What to Expect:
👑Royal Romance
💜Love Over Duty
👑Secret Romance
💜Age Gap
👑He Falls First
💜Reformed Playboy
👑Older Brothers Friend
💜No Third Act Breakup
👑Last Book in Standalone Series

I’m honestly still ALL IN MY FEELS over how this series ended because The Royal Situation completely swept me up in ALLL THE DELICIOUSLY POSSIBLE WAYS!!!! This one follows Prince Louis, who’s on a deadline to choose a suitable bride for his future, because apparently… 35 is pushing it in Royal years!!! When the palace fills with princesses competing for his hand, everything changes when Addison Cross walks right back into his life. Now, shes in his castle competing for the royal painter position, and despite knowing she’s completely off-limits, fate, their connection, and ALL THE THINGS, continue to bring them face to face.

What really made this story absolutely hit for me was how messy and real their journey felt—this 100% was NOT an easy love story, it’s full of the most impossible choices, outside pressure never relenting, and the life changing sacrifices that could make or break everything about them. Their relationship goes deeper than just chemistry, and IMO, they’re the definition of fated mates, soul mates, true love… whatever trope you want to put on it, that is what I felt coming from them throughout the entire book. Watching them fight for their happily ever after, despite the weight of the crown and everything trying to tear them apart, made this such an emotional and unforgettable finale to the Billionaire Situation Series.

Lyra Parish DOES NO WRONG. This series is HANDS DOWN one of my favorites and I will forever read and reread. Thank you for always writing the best books and for always keeping me in on these early reads. I cannot wait for the next series to drop. I’ll be creepily watching and waiting…

The Royal Situation by Lyra Parish
Billionaire Situation, Book 7
382 Pages

If you love forbidden romance wrapped in royal drama, The Royal Situation absolutely delivers. This story pulls you into a world of duty, expectation, and the quiet rebellion of following your heart—even when it could cost everything.

At the center is a prince bound by obligation, facing the pressure to marry for the crown rather than love. Opposite him is a fiercely talented woman competing for the coveted role of royal artist—determined to prove herself in a world that doesn’t easily make space for her, a commoner. Their paths collide again in a way that feels inevitable. Their feelings throw a wrench into a very sticky situation.

The chemistry between them is undeniable, filled with tension, longing, and stolen moments that feel all the more powerful because they’re forbidden. The secret romance element is done so well—you can feel the weight of every glance and every risk they take.

What really elevates the story is the presence of the king and queen. They add layers of conflict and pressure that make the stakes feel real and, at times, almost suffocating. Their influence forces both characters to confront what they’re willing to sacrifice: love, ambition, or their sense of self. The angst is present throughout this entire story.

Lyra has given us 7 books in this absolutely phenomenal series. It’s bittersweet knowing this is the final book. There’s something so satisfying about seeing how everything has come together, but I also have that little ache of having to say goodbye. Lyra Parish really closed this chapter in a way that feels complete yet still leaves me excited for what’s next. I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out, because whatever story she gives us, Well, it's already on my radar.

If you’re searching for the perfect cocktail of swoon-worthy romance, genuine laughter, and a hero who will absolutely ruin your standards for real-life men, look no further. Lyra Parish has outdone herself again with this modern-day masterpiece!

Why this book is a must-read:
Louis & Addison’s Electric Chemistry: From the very first look, the spark between them is undeniable. Louis is the ultimate hero—a billionaire Prince who is charming, protective, and hopelessly devoted. But Addison is the real star here; she’s a breath of fresh air who is fiercely independent, an established artist, and totally unimpressed by his bank account. Seeing her stand her ground against a Queen was everything!

The "Undone" Hero: There is nothing more satisfying than watching a powerful man like Louis get completely dismantled by love at first sight. His struggle between royal obligation and his soul-deep connection to Addison creates the kind of tension that keeps you turning pages past midnight.

A Fairytale with Teeth: This isn’t your grandmother's royal trope. It’s a modern, relatable spin where a Prince can hang out with a hockey player brother, and the heroine is a finishing-school grad who still knows how to fight for what she wants.

The Perfect Storm: With a controlling Queen Mother and a "suitable" bride-to-be standing in the way, the stakes feel real and the payoff is incredibly rewarding.

Final Verdict: This is a "can't put it down, give you all the feels" journey. You will love them, root for them, yell at them, and ultimately fall in love with their story. It’s pure escapism at its finest!

👑MEDDLING SIBLING MATCHMAKER

OMG…Lyra, I think you stole my heart with this one. Addison and Louis are a legit match made in heaven and we love a good meddling sibling who helps ensure that her brother winds up with the girl of his dreams.

What starts out as a meeting in an art gallery to a competition to become the royal family’s new portrait painter….just ultimately turns into the spiciest, edginest, sweetest connection between a billionaire’s daughter and her brother’s friend, the crowned prince of Montclaire.

Addison and Louis make sparks fly in this forbidden romance where Louis pines for love and acceptance, even though his mother, the queen, wants to play hard ball.

Addison and Louis fall fast and hard and decide that the tough times are worth the battle to be with each other forever. I’m in love with these two and the little bonus scene at the end is everything I wanted from them.

Now onto see who the spare (AKA matchmaker Delphine) finds herself in trouble with in the Roommate Situation…I have a guess, but I won’t share that. We’ll just have to wait and see.

This is a royal situation you don’t want to miss out on, almost as if Prince Harry and Megan were getting married again, but in book form. Go read it, I promise you’ll also fall in love with them.

““I want to live in the moment with you, even if it’s temporary.” He tilts his head. “Addison.” “I know how this ends.” I shrug. “I’m choosing the adventure anyway. I need to see how it plays out.” “You’re sacrificing a lot.” I smile, even though it hurts. “You are too.””

The Royal Situation | Lyra Parish | Billionaire Situation #7

Review: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5, 🌶️🌶️🌶️/5

“”You are the one for Louis. His true match. I knew the moment I saw you together at the gallery. He’s never looked at anyone else that way.” “I don’t know how you can be so sure. We barely spoke.” “How can you not be sure? You look at him the same. You both have stars in your eyes anytime the other is close. It’s a powerful connection.””

Read this if you love: royal romance | love over duty | secret romance | opposites attract | age gap | he falls first | reformed playboy | meddling sibling matchmaker

““We’re playing chess, sweetheart. Not checkers. When the clock strikes midnight, it will be check.” “In the end, do we win?” A slow smile spreads on his adorable face as he pulls me against him. We dance in the cottage to no music. “We do. Because I’m not giving you up. Nothing in the whole damn world compares to this. To us. I’ll fight until my death.””

I cannot believe this series is over and oh the end is so good! I LOVED it! And yes, I think it’s my favorite of the whole series. I love a royal romance. It’s the forbidden nature and all the hurdles that will inevitably be in their way. What I really loved about Addison and Louis’s story was how much they understood each other without even having to try. And Chapter 17 was chef’s kiss! One of my favorite romance scenes ever. That ending though 😬 - in the words of Maria from Heated Rivalry “girl”. 😳🫣

Thank you @lyraparish for the eARC. I voluntarily read an early copy of this book.

Prince Louis has reached the age where he no longer has a choice in his love life. The King and Queen of Montclaire will now make that choice for him by selecting suitable princesses for him to consider before making the final decision.

Things take a drastic turn when Addison Cross shows up at the palace. She’s competing to become the royal artist among nine other contestants.

Louis is instantly taken back to the moment he first met Addison at an art exhibit. He hasn’t been able to get her out of his mind, and now she’s in his country—and his home. The feelings that sparked that first night are impossible to ignore.

As the eligible princesses begin to arrive, rules are broken, secret moments are stolen, and protocols are tossed out the window. Can Louis and Addison continue their secret affair, or will the Crown eventually step in?

This book is amazing! I’m a huge sucker for royal romances, and Lyra Parish absolutely nailed this one. I was rooting for Addison and Louis from the start, and once the chess games began… I was a goner.

There are some brief Cinderella-like moments, which made this even more exciting for me! It’s one of my all-time favorite Disney princess movies, so I completely ate this up.

There were so many moments where I sat on the edge of my seat, holding tightly to my Kindle, eager to see what would happen next. This was such a great ending to the series! I’m so excited for the next billionaire romance and for Louis’ sister Delphine’s story.

Thank you, Lyra Parish, for the ARC of The Royal Situation! It’s amazing 💜
