The Immortal War continues as two powerful factions rise.

The Demon King extends his reach, attempting to grasp the world in his hands.

The New Remus Empire attempts to revive the ancient civilization, dreaming of a worldwide empire that will last for eternity.

Elaine and the rest of the Eventide Eclipse are caught in the middle, both sides demanding they bend the knee and pay tribute to their new overlords.

But they're not the only ones who wish to see empires fall, kings toppled, and for a new era to rise from the ashes!

It was alright. This was one of my top three series a couple of years ago, but the past few books have been, generously, average. As with the previous book, it sets the stage for an ambitious plot that ... is resolved almost immediately in a bunch of loosely related vignettes in which none of the main characters seem to really accomplish much of anything. I'm honestly just along for the ride to the end now and desperately hope that the finale will give us a proper sendoff that reminds me why I used to love this series so much.

rebuild

Post-post-apocalypse, where people rebuild after a natural disaster, with the hand waving help of some super powerful druids who transformed the wasteland into all the plants and animals destroyed in the most recent Immortal War.

In the background, a brutal regime plots world domination, and the Eventide Eclipse scatters to combat and undermine this new threat.

Are all souls in Pallos reincarnating just in Pallos? Is it possible for an immortal to seek the souls of their loved ones in their next life? Considering how often civilization ending events occur, maybe the surviving immortals could spend a few centuries finding their lost friends in their new incarnations. Although if you do find your former good friends, are your souls still friends? Could the new incarnations be a-holes?

Spoilers below!

This entry felt a bit middling. We dealt with the New Remus Empire, picked up a new character, got the new Treaty signed (no restrictions on Healers this time!), and Elaine went back to the School (which is still recovering, like most of the world).

The final interludes had Iona and Nina clearing out a Bandit Camp that had killed the Valkyrie Goblin Slayer, and an unhappy Lich named Thanwa, stuck in space, who nudges a planetoid at Pallos. They've got "thousands of years" before it gets there, so it might be a book or three before we get around to this one.

I realized the main reason I am liking the series a bit more is so much time has passed since the 20k year time jump. There's a core group of characters that have been around a while so the jarring change is gone. Things are still a little piece meal, the writing is about the same, the main interesting thing I can point out is it's interesting to see a character growth to divinity in a stat based measurement. HWFWM and PH don't quite do it the same way.

Absolutely love this one

Getting to see all of the character development was fantastic. Getting to see something I have been wishing for for a while to happen was amazing, and the relationship between the daughter and moms was glorious. I couldn’t get enough. I can’t wait for the next series, just to see more of Sara and her relationship with her moms

It's great

Another great addition to the series. If you enjoyed the previous books you'll enjoy this outing. All the great characters are back and entertaining as ever. If you haven't read previous books in the series I highly recommend you start at the beginning. You'll get so much more out of it.

I enjoyed reading volume 15 of this series, entertaining characters and slice-of-life with an intriguing world. Plot is not its strong point, nor is its pacing (probably at least partially the result of its origin as a web novel), at least not for its last few volumes. So, a decent read, just not the best within the series.

a bit short

But the narrative also moves briskly. There aren’t long passages considering philosophical ponderings. There *were* a few more side-character-chapters than I prefer, strictly speaking, but nothing too egregious.

Waiting on the next book.

engaging and advances the story well

As always, the book is well written and pulls you through. Plot-wise it was good as well with engaging scenes that developed the characters’ motivations and conflicts. I enjoyed it.

one of my favorites so far!

One of my favorites so far. The pacing, bouncing around to everyone’s different story and of course the great characters. Glad everyone is picking up the pieces from the immortal war and looking forward to the next disaster!

Yes!!

This book is great. I got a little teary eyed at a few scenes.

I don't know how Selkie Myth keeps this story going so well with such high quality. Thank you Selkie!

I felt that most of the book were made of filler stories that didn't really progress any character development. For example, most of the main cast wasn't actually important to the overall effort, yet we had so many POV chapters of what they were doing.

There were way too many mundane political scenes I honestly just didn't care about. I also couldn't remember most of the factions and characters that would show up for a few pages, and they wouldn't be introduced with details again when they reappeared (e.g. Apistas?).

I'm lukewarm about this series, but I'll probably continue to check out future releases for now as I have enjoyed the idea of an OP healer.

In this book we see the end of the immortal wars and what it is like to formulate the treaty. All the main characters seem to be accounted for. It’ll be interesting to see where the story goes from here.
