This is a brand new take on the werewolf mythology. In Addams’s universe, there are wolves and there are Hunters, and in between there are the Huntresses, women born to walk the line between those two worlds. Morgan is one of those women, but, unlike some, she wasn’t raised with the knowledge of what she is. So when the wolves and hunters both try to grab her, she doesn’t know whom to trust. Her journey to figure this out, and to learn to trust, makes for a great story. The heat between Morgan and Caleb, and the draw she feels for her wolf Lazarus, are both intense and palpable, and the reader isn’t sure which guy to root for. In Addams’s previous novellas, the wolves were the good guys, so it could go either way! This is a well-written and engrossing story, with lots of hot, hot heat.

This is the first full length story in the Order of the Wolf series. We get more insight into werewolves and magic in this world and some of my questions are answered. But, I still have questions and I’m hoping the next book will answer them. Whereas the first two stories were told from the POV of werewolves, this story is told from that of their hunters, or Hunters, the magical humans whose duty it is to kill all werewolves. It was interesting seeing things from the other side of the equation. The Hunters passionately hate werewolves and the werewolves we see in the book are thoroughly detestable, unlike the wolves we met in the earlier stories that were arrogant and annoying but not evil.

Cal is a Hunter born and raised in the Order and a true believer. His loyalty is to the Order of the Wolf first and last. Then he finds his mate, his fated mate, Morgan. Morgan also comes from the Hunter bloodline but was raised as a human, ignorant of her background. She of course is the one, foretold in prophecy, who can stop the evil werewolf king. But there are complications. Morgan’s acclimation to the world of the supernatural and to the Order especially was bumpy. She was attracted to Cal but is hesitant since she hardly knows him. She isn’t willing to roll over and become his mate unless he commits to her but for reasons he refuses to share (yes, it’s the misunderstanding trope!) all he’ll commit to is hot sex.

I liked that Morgan didn’t just meekly submit, even if she had trouble resisting him in bed. She knew what she wanted in a relationship and she wasn’t going to settle for less, no matter what fate or prophecy has to say. She’s also a quick learner and sometimes thinks fast on her feet.

I’m not a fan of the big misunderstanding trope but I can somewhat understand why Cal was reluctant to tell Morgan the truth especially given how little time they had to get know each other before it all hit the fan.

Cal could be an annoying male and his jealousy had me rolling my eyes. It was supposed to be Alpha but was just annoying. Morgan was thoughtless and careless about her friends and her job and had a distressing lack of curiosity about her new home at the Order’s mansion; she didn’t even know what state she was living in! Oh, and that mansion was one of my unanswered questions – how do they afford it? Does the Order have investments? And how many branches of the Order are there? The branches we glimpsed in the earlier stories seem unrelated to this one. Do they all function independently? I’ll keep reading if only to see whether Addams answers any of these questions.

I almost forgot! There are some hot and sexy scenes with Cal and Morgan. I did mention that Morgan had trouble resisting him, didn’t I? Addams does the sexy quite well and you might want a pitcher of cold water nearby as you read.

I received a digital copy in exchange for an honest review from Netgalley.

There was a lot of conflict for me in this story because there was quite a bit of insecurity and contradicting emotions fluctuating within Morgan that it was hard to stick with her through the beginning but I stuck with her. There were so many unique characters and personalities in Wolves Bane that I almost needed to keep a list of who was what, did what, and what their powers were. There were a lot of elements that were recognized in the paranormal romance genre but there was also quite a bit that is special to this author.
A boon for all the female swooners, the men are dominating testosterone pumped... animals that will take over your world.
The love triangle complication is one that carries and weighs heavily on Morgan's shoulders that you can't help but want to understand everything she's going through. She's a character that grows on you and that you really grow to feel for her and the things she goes through as she tries to find her way through the complicated journey into her position and into the heart of the one she loves.
Be forewarned the sex is hot.

Thrust into an ancient feud between werewolf and Hunter, Morgan Stills has been marked for death and must pick up a sword or die in this thrilling paranormal romance.

Caleb was born for one purpose to find and protect his destined mate, the Huntress and the reader can’t help but get caught up in the story as fate throws Morgan and Caleb into a destiny that seems to be one that they can’t really win. The chemistry between Caleb and Morgan heats up the pages from the very beginning but the relationship is thrown off course by events that Morgan doesn’t understand the consequences for and Caleb understands way better than anyone else causing lots of emotional turmoil and pain that captures the heart. The characters are strong, compelling and draw the readers in and refuse to let go while the fast paced, smooth flowing plot thrills readers with lots of suspense, excitement, turmoil and romance.

Expectation builds lots of tension and excitement throughout the story as Morgan slowly comes to realize the full scope of just what she’s in for while secrets being withheld, surprising twists and a fanatical mindset adds spice to the story and keeps everyone on their toes. The well written scenes and details capture the imagination and the intriguing events ensure that the reader has to know every last detail of what’s happening.

I have to say that this romance kept me guessing in every aspect, the suspense, the action and the romance, there was really no way to tell for sure how Morgan’s destiny was going to play out as there seemed to be quite a few hidden undercurrents in the situation, needless to say I was completely surprised by a quite a few of the actions that took place and held hostage throughout the story and I can’t wait to find out what happens next, especially after that humdinger of a conclusion that is sure to set the Order of the Wolf on its ears.

Book 3 of the series tells the story from the Hunters POV and focuses on the evil side of the Werewolf culture we haven’t seen till now.

Throwing together an unsuspecting Huntress and her destined Hunter, only to compound her confusion and acceptance of this surreal world, by injecting an evil potential wolf mate as well.

Wolves` Bane is fast-paced, passionate and packed full of emotional turmoil, that will make your heart break for the innocence lost and the betrayal yet to come.

Morgan hasn't been lucky in love, never finding the love of her life. So why not ask a psychic about her future? She then finds out she is destine to have two mates that want her more than anything but at the same time the psychic tells her she is marked for death. The only way to save her life is to choose the right mate.
Cal has been raised in the Order of the Wolf, his mother was killed by his father because she betrayed the Order. Cal is a Hunter of the wolf, but because of choices made by his people hundreds of years ago they are now being punished. The Hunter can wound the wolf but not kill it. They need their Huntress for that. When you find your true mate the Hunters bond with the Huntress passing on all his skills and powers over to her which in turn makes her stronger than the Hunter himself. Due to his past, he has been afraid to give himself over fully to his Huntress.
Days of the old Order of the Wolf were close to the witch hunts of Salem. They used the woman and if they didn't understand something they killed them. But not all Huntress will have this fate, only the ones that are seen as brides to the wolf. If she gives in to the wolf's mating pull and then betrays the Order, the Huntress is to be killed by her own Hunter.

was both intrigued & hesistant about this one as it's about hunter matched w/ the huntress rather the wolf unlike the other stories, also full length vs novella. it was interesting to see more into the hunter's portion of this world and see that they aren't all creeps like the novellas show them (though Cal does have his major jerk moments). I'm not a fan of 1st person story telling and this book has the story written 1st person for the heroine's point of view & 3rd person for the hero's (the excerpt I had read was of their 1st meet from his POV so didn't expect any 1st person POV). the POV changed pretty much chapter by chapter. the switching btwn still often felt a little starting for me while reading (particularly during the 1st half) knocking me out of the "reading groove" and difficult for me to connect with the h/h and reduced my enjoyment of the book. therefore, while I enjoyed the story overall, I didn't enjoy the experience of reading it as much.

DNF. I was disappointed. Only because when I read series novels I like to have previous characters mixed into the novel so I can read more about them in addition to the current main characters. For this novel that didn't seem to be the case. Therefore, because of that and the plot moving fairly slow I only got through the first few chapters before having to put it down for good.

It does have potential so those who like paranormal novels might like it but it wasn't for me.

Awesome! Awesome! Awesome! A great story line with great characters, I couldn't stop reading until I had finished it. I hope there is another Cal and Morgan book in the series. A great series I'd recommend to any reader.
