You can’t have love without trust, so Lefty never looked twice at a woman. Betrayed at a young age, the only people he trusts are his brothers in the Dueling Devils motorcycle club. The boys took him in and showed him the meaning of family and loyalty. Then he broke his own rule and slept with the same woman more than once. She became a habit, and he got ensnared by the island beauty who ruled her strip club with an iron fist. The problem is, Gia’s not interested in anything serious.
The minute Gia Hughes began to trust Lefty, she knew she was in too deep. The smart thing would’ve been to walk away, but the chemistry between them was too powerful. Then he started asking for more, and she was forced to run from the only thing she ever really wanted—a place to belong. The skeletons buried in her closet need to stay buried to keep her safe, but all too soon that decision is taken out of her hands.
Shyla Colt is the sassy USA Today Bestselling author of the popular series Kings of Chaos and Dueling Devils M.C. This genre-hoppers stories feature three of her favorite things: strong females, pop culture, and alternate routes to happy ever after. Listening to her Romani soul, she pens from the heart, allowing the dynamic characters, eccentric interests, and travels as a former flight attendant to take her down untraveled roads. Born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, this mid-west girl is proud of her roots. She used her hometown and the surrounding areas as a backdrop for a number of books. So, if you're a Buckeye, keep an eye out for familiar places.
As a full-time writer, stay at home mother, and wife, there's never a dull moment in her household. She weaves her tales in spare moments and the evenings with a cup of coffee or tea at her side and the characters in her head for company.
More like 2.5 stars. I didn't like Gia that much from the last book but she was alright in this one. The way they got out of the situation was a little unrealistic since they hyped the bad "guy" up and it wasn't all that.
I received a digital copy in exchange for an honest review.
Wrecked is book three of the MC series, we get to see Lefty in his own novel this time find his way in the twisted path of both the past and his present. I really liked that Shyla creates characters that are both impressive and flawed at the same time because readers need to see that in this type of story where they are put to the test and readers are witness to the lifestyles they live. They need to feel a sense of redemption being found, as well as some grounding and heart where there is so much violence and heart ache. Shyla once again achieves a great deal in Wrecked for both her characters and her readers.
I enjoyed reading Lefty's story and glad to see Gia coming into her own and putting her past to bed. They both were scarred and emotionally raw. But they found a safe harbor in each other and began a journey of healing.
A wonderful but gritty story. Your emotions are engaged and time invested in this next story of the Dueling Devils. Demon is still the man and his love for Ardy is boundless.
Book 3 in the MC Series. This is Lefty and Gia's story.
Lefty has to pursue Gia hard to break down her walls and find out what she is really hiding and why she won't commit when he wants to be in an exclusive relationship with her.
I found this story to be a gentle one of a man who really wants to be with a woman and has to overlook her rejections of him in order to have her.
really enjoyed lefty and gia story u get into a much darker gritter story with alot of dark secerts and alot of twists a brilliant addition to this series I really like gia ....
The title ‘wrecked’ is befitting of the story in all aspects. The two main characters took me on a rollercoaster ride with their warped emotions. But there’s nothing like an alpha to rein in the drama and handle business. It was a great read and even greater experience. I loved it!
I liked the story. I love Gia's and Lefty's characters. My only dislike is the same thing as the previous book. There were some editing issues, but other than that, this was a solid read.
This is #3 novella in the Dueling Devils MC series. It is not a standalone. Definitely need to read in order. I absolutely loved!!! So entertaining and a fun read. I was glad to see one of my favorites from the preceding books get his own love story. Don't let the idea of a simple love story fool you. There is some sweet but a whole of raw gritty action and suspense. A different approach on connecting two broken people. Amazing job with characters...inclusion of returning and new roles. Some really HOTT scenes. Fast paced and easy to read. I really didn't want to put it down. Basically read in a setting. It am hoping there will be a #4. I recommend this one!!!!!!AndreaGAH
This book has the cheesiest ending ever. The writing wasn't authentic. Which bad ass biker you know says "I felt like puking at what it did to her mind". Crass speech is a a part of biker lifestyle, it isn't turned on and off. Then, they spoke proper English when they were in flash back in Jamaica. Gia might be a good actress, but no born Jamaican can speak English that good and never falter or slip even if it's in their head.
I wasn't much a fan of Gia from how she showed her colors in the previous book in this series, but this one turned me a bit on her side. Helped me to tolerate her and appreciate her struggle, so kudos to the author for that.
Another good read in book 3 of the Dueling Devils series. This story focuses on Gia and Lefty two damaged people overcoming their pasts. I like the way Ms. Colt spends time building relationships between the h/h while allowing the tension to build concerning the outside threat.
My only problem with this story was the editing, the formatting was off and the editing needed to be refined.
read this one out of order but knew i had to go back and read about lefty's devotion and attraction to gia. although his love for gia feels like an insta-love it really isn't and has been a slow build and comes out in an all out alpha way when his woman is threatened. it's all kinda sweet. but as i've mentioned - shyla colt has me hooked in this mc world. i think you'll enjoy it too.
I will say the same thing that I said for the last two books: Another short and sweet story. Don't usually use sweet with MC books, but it isn't a bad thing with this book. Had enough of a plot and good characters development that you wanted to keep reading throughout the series.
Great read. I really enjoy this series and the author writes a good story. I'm glad that Gia and Lefty got together and shared their pasts with each other. Can't wait to read what comes next with the Dueling Devils.
