I tried.

I tried. I really really tried. The plot started off good which made me want to keep reading but I couldn't get past the typos and grammatical errors. It was rough. And I get the fact that it's a book, a fiction book at that, but there was some stuff that was so far fetched that a dog couldn't bring it back. I think I will try one of the author's other books.

I’ll start by saying I usually don’t like books with a lot of POVs because most of the time they feel unnecessary and just take up space. That wasn’t the case here though. Every POV actually mattered. It helped move the story forward and gave real insight into what everyone was dealing with, villains included.

At first, I was definitely annoyed with Lala. But I had to check myself and remember that James was all she knew for eight years. He was the toxic type who cheats, apologizes, then repeats the cycle. As much as he was trash, I’m sure there were moments where he was good to her, which made it harder for her to let go. Still, once she finally broke up with James and started dealing with Stacks, she had no business needing “closure” from James. Ain’t no closure coming from a man who cheated on you over and over and only felt comfortable doing it because you kept allowing him to. I was glad Stacks didn’t play with her about it.

Stacks was solid. He knew his worth and wasn’t about to be second place or an emotional safety net while she untangled herself from her past.

Bear… whew. Karma is loading for him, and I’m here for it. I really hope Paco makes it because he is the key to Stacks knowing about the snake close to him.

Lisa was a good friend overall, but she got on my nerves with that superiority complex. Acting like stripping made her above people working regular jobs. And just as fast as she thought she had it all figured out, she let a snake of a man finesse his way straight into her heart.

Ashley, AKA Ms. donkey of the day. The desperation was wild. Going as far as faking or trapping a pregnancy just to keep a man who was never really hers is insane behavior. Especially knowing James was abusive and still not choosing her. Just embarrassing.

This was a strong start to the series. I’m definitely moving on to part two.

Wow

From start to finish i was hooked. i can’t stand James and i hate the fact that Lala stick around for so long, but love will make yu do some crazy things. Stacks came in like a breath of fresh air for Lala and i like him for her. i hate that Lisa fell for Bear knowing he had ill intentions but this book ended with a banger and i’m ready for the next installment.

Good read, watch them snakes!

A lot happened in this novel. The biggest thing was the betrayals! James cheating on Lala, Bear a low down snake, Tasha crazy and all unbeknownst to Stacks. Hopefully Paco wakes up soon and all the skeletons tumble out the closet! Is Lisa dead???? Great start but the author really needs a good editor, there are many errors!!!

not good

This book was not good and I won’t be reading book 2. Stacks and Lisa NEVER dated. They met one day because of an accident and then she was running to his house to cry on his couch about her current relationship. Then the next time they saw each other after that she was moving in with him after she moved out from being with james. There was no connection AT ALL. Then all of a sudden she was pregnant. Not only that she met up with James because honestly she’s one of the dumbest female characters I’ve read about, and let’s him give her head. 🙄🙄 awe yea stacks supposed to be soooo smart but ignores the shade thrown at him by Bear, after already going through a traumatic even prior to moving to Miami. So instead of him being on top of EVERYTHING, he decides to brush it off. Why? And when/how did he assemble a crew so fast? When did he have time to get it done? I mean this story was so NOT thought out and dumb. Things were just happening with no explanation of how. Stacks and Lisa being soooo in love was so unbelievable. They didn’t even truly know each other. We not even gone get started on the errors. And I don’t even complain about errors especially if the story is good, but this was RIDICULOUS. This is not a new author and even if it was you shouldn’t want your name attached to this. I’ve seen that some ppl actually paid for this 🤦🏿‍♀️🤦🏿‍♀️..I will not finish the series not even try to read part 2. Super glad it’s KU.

Lala was dealing with her cheating boyfriend James for 8 years. She stood by him even when he had nothing and all she wanted was to be his wife, but he couldn't seem to get his act together. Stacks was James's competition. Not only did he take James's money, but he took his girl. Stacks was everything Lala needed. He was respectful, caring, gentle and above all, faithful. I liked the fact that Stacks wasn't all thugged out. He dressed in suits and was professional which is a far cry from most urban fiction I've read. Lala's character was likable. She had goals. She was in nursing school and wanted to have a career. She wasn't materialistic. She just wanted to be loved. The story was predictable, but entertaining. It needs some editing, but it was a fun, fast read with a great cliffhanger.

This is the first book I've read by this Author and it was good read from beginning to end. Since it was a series, I made sure I had all four books before I started and I'm so glad i did cause once I was finished I needed to next back like ASAP. Totally enjoyed the story. the only drawback however, was the grammar errors and that nobody caught the errors. Nonetheless, I won't allow poor grammar to lessen the fact that it's a good story and I enjoyed it. Loved the characters of Stacks and Lala, I love a strong male character as Stacks, definitely can't wait for PT.2. Highly recommend and you won't be disappointed and the sex scenes were HOT!!

Totally Hot!!

This was story not for the casual reader. This is a story fit for the one who knows drama when she hears it,a boss when she sees one,and when its time to handle business can get down with the best of them. This story starts out pulling at all your heart strings. This is a story of second chances, knowing that the grass is not always greener on the other side.We have such good solid main characters in this story that you quickly start.rooting.for them.A well executed story, they lives up.to the title.

This is was so good

A must read if you want a grimmy book this is it.James and lala relationship is so dysfunctional I don't know how she lasted 8 years.Stacks came on the scene and took over as king.So many snakes tryna come in and be in charge that's it's not funny,so many people be and the casualties in a war of jealousy. Not gonna ruined for anyone but a must read part 2 let's get it.
