The ladies are at it again. They’ve switched gears and designed uniforms to become Madison’s Security Squad. The uniforms? Hideous. The job? An arcade that pays in tokens. Figuring that it’s a low-key job, Mars hopes that the ladies will stay out of trouble.
Wrong.
So very wrong.
When the arcade wall is vandalized repeatedly, Mrs. Janowski calls the squad for immediate action. With Aaron’s help, they decode the message on the wall, leading them to a seedy bar where danger lurks. The bar’s parking lot is full, but where are the customers?
Mars has her own problems to work through. Evan and Brett . . . and the envelope. Mars discovers a secret that Evan’s been keeping, threatening their new relationship. And Brett . . . God, she doesn’t know what to do about him. But she’ll have to figure it out, and soon.
Security Squad is the 3rd book in the Mars Cannon series. The book leaves off where book two had ended with Mars dealing with her heart by working nonstop at a biker bar she refuses to give up on. This book had be laughing between the little old ladies aka Security Squad and the endless trouble they find themselves in from fighting over uniform colors to working security at the local arcade earning tokens instead of money. Mrs. Janowski Mars’s nsoey neighbor will have you laughing so many time thought out the book. I love how she takes her job protecting the local arcade from the crime wave hitting the city. You will feel for T and everything he deals with when it comes to the Security Squad and the endless stress they put him thought. My personal favorite laughs belong to the Mac and Bob the big A bikers and their endless signs to promote the dive biker bar. The slogans had me laughing out loud “Bikers Rule and Have Big Tools or This Place Smell Like Farts But We’ve Got Darts.” I couldn’t stop laughing and even though Mac and Bob were secondary characters they stole the show and I loved reading every chapter with them in it. The Author did a wonderful job of flushing out minor characters while staying true to Mars, Evan, Brett, and the little old ladies. Mars does make her choice in this book and I was glad to have some closure but have a feeling that isn’t the end of either one of the men when it comes to Mars. I love the Nicolette Pierce has a mystery that hasn’t quite ended yet and it will keep the reader excited for the next book in the Mars Cannon Series even if we have to wait an entire year. This is a great easy read that you can read in one sitting or over a period of time. This book takes a lighter tone then the last one but it still its eww moments.
In this continuation of the Mars Cannon novels, the Predator Patrol has now become the Security Squad. They are hiring themselves out to help keep the people of Madison safe. Back at the bar, Mars is worried because Bob is working a job at another bar, but he won't say or can't say what goes on there. T is beaten badly when he tries to find out what Bob is doing. Brett is back and Mars is with Evan. Brett is not happy, but is willing to let Mars go if Evan makes her happy. Mrs. J and the ladies are a force unto themselves. Although this book could be read as a standalone novel, the books are much more fun when read in order. Sit back, relax, and prepare to be entertained.
You can't help But laugh The antics of The senior brigade. You can visualize their actions and the mischief that they get into especially the main senior. Nice to read a mystery action story with humor. Great job😍😍😍😍😍
Another very good read in this series. It has everything you could ask for in a mystery……action, mystery, humor and romance……all rolled together into one very good story. I am going to jump right into the next in the series. I am hooked!
Third in the series...after reading Pierce's Nadia Wolf series in which I wanted Nadia for my best friend, it took a little bit for me to change gears and learn to like Mars. She's different, but still gutsy. This series is set in Wisconsin, and takes full advantage of all the quirks the state has to offer, from our love of fried foods to biker heaven and biker bars, to our outer space obsession. Mrs. Janowski and the girls are such a hoot I can't help but love them as they attempt to make a name for themselves as a protection squad and use all their weapons—from keen observation to frying pans and Internet research. The relationships in the book are all quirky, from the Mars-Evan-Brett triangle to T and Emmy, to the ladies of the Squad.
For those who enjoy humorous, quirky characters solving a mystery with clues and actions out in left field, along with some steamy romance. Standalone-able, although you'll want to read the other books in the series too.
I love this author and love this series. Mars is such an awesome and interesting character. Her geriatric security squad totally cracks me up. I won't spoil it by describing it, but three aneurysm scene had me absolutely laughing out loud and had my kids looking at me like I'd lost my mind. Once again, Mars has her two men, Brett and Evan, to contend with. In my opinion, she totally makes the right choice. I can't wait to see what all Mars and crew get into in the future. While this is definitely not a cliffhanger, it certainly leaves a couple of interesting threads hanging out there to keep us wondering and wanting more Mars.
I have way too many favorites! And this series is definitely one of them. You can't help but fall in love with Mars and her predator patrol buddies! They have me laughing in every scene. I seriously couldn't put this book down until finished. I'm ready for the Biker Brigaid now!
This was thus far my least favorite in this series. I think this is a very talented author but some of the scenes that were intended to be humerous just weren't.
