New England is bursting at the seams with great art. Museum collections across the region are studded with surprises, hosting an extraordinary range of work. That’s the focus of “Frame by Frame,” the popular column from Pulitzer Prize-winning Boston Globe art critic Sebastian Smee. Now “Frame by Frame” is available as a unique e-book, offering an up-close look at dozens of individual works that show what makes this part of the world so stimulating for art lovers.
The second book by S. See that I have read, I highly recommend. A brief description of several lesser known, but extremely enjoyable, works of art by famous, obscure, and anonymous artist, each brief take (3 or 4 pages) offers insight and entertainment to the art lover.
Mostly a collection of things he's already said in his Boston Globe column, but any art critic that can boldly call Dale Chihuly's Retrospective a case of naked emperor gets my vote. A good book to take on tour of Boston metropolitan area.
