Narrator Review: Angie Hickman Distinguishable between characters: 5 Stars Impersonating opposite sex: 5 Stars Accents: N/A Any critiques: None Overall enjoyment of Performance: 5 Stars - I really enjoyed this narrator. I think she made this book much more fun than just reading it. Recommend audible version: I highly recommend! Borrowed on Audible Romance Package
Story Review: This was very entertaining! The narrator really brought these characters to life and I had so much fun listening to them on their Mexican adventure. Our main characters were having a drinking contest and woke up naked and handcuffed to each other in Mexico. The story is about them running into all kinds of obstacles getting back to the states. It's a cute enemies to lovers trope that was a bit silly but a good silly. The book is short so it's great for when you want something quick to read. It will definitely lift your spirits if you are just coming off a book hangover.
Layla grew up in her family’s bar. It’s all that she has. When some fink claims that he now owns the bar she’s determined to do anything to keep it. A drinking competition ends Layla and Hank, the fink, handcuffed in Mexico and what follows is a hilarious series of events as they try to get back home. Layla was a bit tougher than previous heroine’s in this series, but she still had that snarky, forthright attitude that I’ve come to love.
I would think that by the time I got to the fourth book that I would be sick of the style, writing and humour of one author but that is just not the case. Although I found this one a little more on the crazy side instead of the crazy funny side I can honestly say that I still can't get enough. I'm kind of upset that there is only one more novella after this one because I am enjoying them that much.
At roughly 100 pages I can't really say a whole lot about the story except that it is really out there with the plot and humour. I have come to the realisation that Sax has the ability to make me smile and laugh out loud with pretty much anything she writes. These novellas have been the perfect solution for me when I need something to entertain myself without any lengthy time commitment. Hank and Layla's story will leave you shaking your head but with giant smile.
Just Sacked by Elise Sax is the 4th book in her Wish Upon a Stud series. It was equally as good as the previous books in this series. Each novella is a stand alone book but I have enjoyed meeting each new character at the end of each book so I knew who I would soon be reading about.
Layla has lost everything that she has ever known since she was 5 years old. Hank Taylor has bought her family bar through a bank repossession; and she won't accept charity from him. Hank proposes a contest and who ever wins gets the bar. So they proceed to see who can drink the most whiskey. The next thing they know is when they wake up in Mexico naked and handcuffed together. And that is where fun begins. I laughed throughout the book and I sighed at the end. Elise has done it again and I am looking forward to the 5th and final book, Wicked Ride with Fiona and Ronin.
Just Sacked is the 4th book in the Wish Upon a Stud series thought they are all stand alone there even better together! In this book you get to meet Layla a strong independent woman who wants her bar back from the sexy Hank the fink together they go on a wild adventure by the time they get back to the bar things have changed it's no longer just about winning a bar but winning each others heart! This book is a Fun Exciting and Sexy read!
Elise has done it again! Each book in this series gets better and better. I love Layla & Hank and their banter! I laughed the whole way through. I can't wait for Wicked Ride!
When Layla plans to drink businessman Hank Taylor under the table in an effort to get her bar back, she doesn't expect to wake up the next morning handcuffed and naked in Mexico! Getting back to the US isn't easy, especially with some serious heat building between them.
This is another adorably hilarious novella from Elise Sax! She puts her characters into these comical situations and I just sit back and enjoy the listen. It's guaranteed to put a smile on my face. At 2.5 hours, it's easy to read in one sitting, and a satisfying reread later.
This author's characters are always a hoot. I loved both Layla and Hank. Just when Layla thought she had Hank all figured out, he showed her a different side of himself and threw her off balance again.
Angie Hickman is awesome as usual, she has the perfect voice to perform these lighthearted romances. Her voice fits Layla so well, and immersed me in the story. I received a copy of the audiobook, and I'm voluntarily leaving a review. Can't wait for the next one!
What could go wrong with a drinking challenge, apparently a lot! This series is a lot of fun and this book is no different. The story can be read as a standalone, there's no assumed knowledge.
Elise does a fantastic job of putting her characters into strange and very funny situations. The characters are beautifully constructed so that it seems natural for them to act in unexpected ways.
Some rather wicked twists make for a story that keeps you desperate to know what happens next.
Angie did a fabulous job with the narration, great character voices and a delivery that heightens the comedic nature of the book.
I received a free copy of this book from the publisher and/or author and/or narrator in exchange for an honest review.
This is my review of the audiobook: This cute story is part of a series that is new to me. This is book 4, but it worked fine as a standalone. Layla and Hank were funny, though there were several times I thought Hank was an idiot to still be interested in Layla. She was so mean to him! Overall, I enjoyed their snarky banter and wild attraction to each other. Their madcap adventure held my interest from beginning to end. I thought the narration was great, and I never felt lost or wondered who was speaking. I am interested in checking out the other books in the series, especially book 5, which was previewed at the end of this one. I was voluntarily provided this review copy audiobook at no charge by the author, publisher, and/or narrator.
I listened to the audiobook. This was a good story that had several laugh out loud moments. This is mostly a comedic, romantic romp. There is some suspense to add some tension but overall... it was just plain fun! It really gets going once they end up in Mexico... and the author does a good job wrapping everything up by the end. But it still left me ready for the next book! The narrator did a great job and she has good timing and knows how to phrase for funny effect.
This is the first book is this series that I've read/listened to and I'm probably going back to pick up the earlier ones.

Just Sacked (Five Wishes #4) was a great read by Elise Sax. Layla has worked at her family’s bar since she was five years old. To her, it is more than just a bar, it’s home. Her family is now gone and she finds her debts piling up. Her bar becomes reposed and taken over by local businessman Hank Taylor. Hank offers Layla her bar back, if she can win a drinking contest. She’s never lost a drinking contest in her life. They wake up together, naked and handcuffed together in Mexico. I enjoyed reading this book and cant wait to read more by the author.
Another very funny, cute, sexy, interesting book in the Wishes Series!! I am enjoying this series very much! The characters are quirky and the banter is hilarious! The situations are unusual that the characters find themselves in and keep the story speeding along. There is certainly no boring or draggy parts in these books! Really liked this book and highly recommend it!!!!😊
Oh my god, I laughed til I cried. It started when her face landed in his crotch and kept going to her epic, levitating orgasms when she told him he had just about, almost, pretty close got her there. I couldn't keep reading because I was laughing too hard. Their adventure in Mexico was scary hilarious. Poor Hank. She really was too hard on the poor guy! If you are sexually open minded and in need of a great laugh till you cry, then this book is for you!

Interesting plot, plenty of excitement, some violence, but, in spite of the violence will a great story. And, Yes, it IS a Rom/Com/Love story. As with the first three in the series, it is a bit of a 'cliff hanger' because you are left wondering what happens next.
Audiobook Review Short, but OMG so very funny, I truly look forward to every audiobook release in this series. Angie Hickman`s comedic timing is outstanding, she is in my top 5 rom-com narrators. Looking forward to the next book`s audio release.
When a drinking contest with a bar at stake finds the participants handcuffed, naked in Mexico, Sax's good humour and not so clean fun provide a rollicking and romantic adventure that will have you laughing out loud. I loved this story.
I loved getting to listen to Layla and Hank's adventure into Mexico. With all the mishaps and the trouble these two get into its awesome. I couldn't help but laugh at poor Hank and his unfortunate luck at everything bad happening to him. It was great and extremely entertaining.
I have to tell you that all you need to know about this book is there is a very repressed woman named Layla, who is losing her bar right after her father has died. She's losing it to a man named Hank, who agrees to a bet when she decides she can drink him under the table to win her bar back since she's played the game many times and always won. They wake up the next morning handcuffed to each other and naked in Mexico. Take it from there and, believe me, you cannot possibly imagine how hilarious this book is!!!!!
I'm still confused about this book, but it was fun and madcap and sexy. Layla has just lost her bar to foreclosure, and a guy from her past, Hank, is the new owner - and Layla is pissed!! They end up having a bet that whoever wins a drink-off gets to keep the bar. The next thing they know, they both end up naked in Mexico and make their way through a number of adventures to get back to California. The book was funny and crazy and I'm still not sure what was happening, but I did enjoy it!
These book are too too entertaining and quite humorous. I highly recommend them. I know you will enjoy them....just one note to th author...when heading NORTH while the sun rises in the east I believe that would put it to your RIGHT. Going SOUTH puts it on the left. Love your books, Elise.
Totally unexpected adventure! Mexico, naked, stranded, and cannot forget the sex. Layla is very rough around the edges which apparently gets Hank's engine revved up. Despite their predicament he is ever the gentleman. Great addition to the series, thanks for the copy 's Ms. Sax.
