What do you get when you cross a gold-digging stripper, a down-on-her-luck hooker, an estranged husband, his knocked-up wife, a Wayne Newton lookalike taxi driver and one beleaguered Baltimore cop?
A typical night in the life of Riley Collins—Vegas style.
Riley’s always been the wildest of the Collins clan, but even she bites off more than she can chew during an impromptu trip to Sin City. Once again, it’s Aaron Young to the rescue. No surprise; Aaron’s been watching Riley’s ass forever—and he’s wanted to spank it for even longer. Tracking her down, Aaron finally gets his wish—after he drags a drunken Riley to a chapel and makes it legit, of course.
To say she’s shocked is putting it mildly. But Riley warms to Aaron’s seduction quicker than you can say “all-you-can-eat buffet!” Who knew her mild-mannered best friend was so hot in the sack? Of course, thanks to Riley’s penchant for picking up strays, the newlyweds will have to sneak in some honeymoon boom-boom whenever they can. But they’ll manage…

I loved this book!!! This instalment was about Riley Collins ( the sister of The Collins clan) and Aaron who is a cop who has known and followed Riley since they were kids! The thing is, Riley is wild and she is constantly getting herself into trouble! Aaron is on the straight and narrow side of life and is always there to bail her out or be her conscience for her! In this story Riley ends up in Vegas, and Aaron is not far behind! The shenanigans these two get into are hilarious!!! There was never a dull moment! From "Bubbles " the prostitute, to a drunk Wayne Newton look alike there is excitement at each corner!
As far as the romance goes, there is that too! Also some very hot sex... A book well worth the read! It has endeared me to this series even more! I'm slowly coming to the end of this Irish family series but I sure have enjoyed getting to know the Collins clan!
5 HUGE STARS!! Fantastic, LMAO book and the epilogue was the icing on the boobs…I mean cake! Best friends to lover’s book I’ve ever read. Riley is a cross between Stephanie Plum and Keely McKay and Aaron is her Joe Morelli/JackDonahue.
I loved Riley and her snarky, sassy, party-girl ways. Aaron is a women’s dream, attentive, sexy, protective, and boy can he burn up the sheets. For years he’s been there to pick Riley up when she falls, but now he reached his limit. He’ll continue to catch her and clean up after her, but as her husband, and he’s not taking no for an answer. Aaron tags along “As Riley served as counselor to every misfit on the island”, and boy does she ever have knack for attracting them. Some interesting Vegas-style secondary characters with amusing stories of their own had me laughing from beginning to end. The dialogue was fantastic, edgy and witty, but the epilogue with the Collins clan, well that just did me in.
I more sibling, one more book...I’m reluctant to let this amazing, entertaining family go.
If you’ve read the series, then you had to guess Riley’s book would be a hoot. Not only is it VERY funny, it’s also full of plot with some crazy supporting characters. I kept thinking, “how does she get herself into these situations?” but then, I realized, it’s Riley, she can’t help herself. I DID NOT want this book to end. I was having too much fun reading it.
Of course Riley would end up in Vegas with Aaron following behind her. But for once Aaron is not willing to take a backseat and let Riley walk away this time. He's prepared to throw it all in to get what he really wants and when the opportunity presents itself he's got no shame in marrying the girl even if she may not remember it in the morning. She may think it's all a lark, but Aaron is determined to make her his once and for all.
I liked seeing this side of Aaron, he was determined and not the push over we're used to seeing in previous books. Riley's always been the life of the party and the one deciding what's going to happen next. This time Aaron's fighting for what he wants. This seemed like the perfect story for Riley. Of course she couldn't get married in a normal fashion. She'll always have a story to tell.
By far the best and funnest of the series.. This could be a stand alone book.. Riley Collins and Aaron Young have been friends since they were 3 yrs old. Aaron has always been there to get the wild child of the Collins family out of trouble.. Riley's latest stunt has her taking off to Vegas with a guy friend on the outs with his wife.. The family turns to Aaron to go retrieve her when they find out. After he finally tracks her down and see's she is drunk and finally admits something he's been waiting to hear for a long time he takes her to a chapel and marries her.. Now when she wakes up in Aaron's arms she doesn't remember anything from the night before. And then the comedy commences.. We have the pissed off baseball bat swinging wife of the guy Riley went to Vegas with and who they promise to find even though they know he took off with a hooker the night before. And in looking for the husband they come across a down-on-her-luck hooker, and a Wayne Newton lookalike taxi driver who's in love with the hooker that ran off with the estranged husband they are looking for..
This book is the equivalent of literary cotton candy: sweet, simple, not satisfying, with a lot of holes. This was my first time reading a book by Ms. Carr, and perhaps I'm simply not her target audience (I have a penchant for books like Beautiful Disaster, Clash, the Sweet Gum Tree, etc), and I was looking forward to a book where the Hero had been pining for the Heroine for a long time, but... I simply couldn't get behind the characters here. The Hero supposedly has always loved heroine... but he contemplates a threesome with another character; at the very least, he doesn't turn it down in terms of future possibilities... I don't know. I just can't get behind this book. I wanted more complexity, more possessiveness, more character development.... just more.
I know I have the 7th and final book to read in the series, but I'm going to ahead and say there's no way Ms. Carr can top this one. It was hilarious and sexy from start to finish, and the perfect book for Riley in true Las Vegas fashion. Aaron and Riley are my favorite couple in this series because they have that perfect balance for a great relationship. She finds trouble and he's always there to bail her out of it. My favorite line in the book is when Aaron says "Going to a sex store horny is dumber than going to the grocery store hungry."
I think I've mentioned that I'm enjoying the hell out of the series, right? What I'm really liking about this series is that Ms Carr has really mixed up the stories and you never know what you are going to get. But when you get it, it's just the right mix for that character. So we got a crazy, screwball comedy with Riley's outing. Of course we knew that she was going to hook up with Aaron. But a quickie marriage in Vegas? Wasn't expecting that. And wasn't expecting it to be right at the beginning of the book. Mmmm, I want me some Aaron. And I wanna party with Riley. Too fun!
Good, but not as enjoyable as the last two, even if they were in my favorite place ever, Vegas. Don't like Riley all that much and for a guy who claims to want to take charge he never really was. Shame on him for not getting her more into line.
Wild Child.."Riley" Saturday's Child and Aaron's Story
Well I truly enjoyed and appreciated this story. Riley, the Chef now for the family restaurant and pub. Riley's mom died of cancer when she was 10 years old. Aaron Young 🌱 the police officer and Riley's Best friend since they were 3 years old. Riley's mom and Aaron's mom met while they were in the park playing at Three years old. Riley is now 25 and restless and so because she's tired of Baltimore's night life decides to go with her friend Trevor to Las Vegas so they both could blow off 📴 some steam. Aaron goes to see about his Best friend after Keira called and told him what Riley had done. When he gets to the casino of the place where they are staying, he easily finds her because she's the center of attention because she makes friends easily. See what happens when Aaron and Riley find there selves in. Vegas, you know it's going to a great ride because what do they say " What Happens in Vegas Stays in Vegas" or does it. This story made laugh 😂 and made me cry 😢, it also upset me too. This is definitely a Good Read. I am almost finished with Sunday's and Pop's children, it will be time to start reading about their children. I have read one of the grandchildren's story that's how I started reading about the Collins. I love 💙💙💙 these stories. I think Mari Carr has done a great job on telling this family's stories. This is a Good Read, highly recommended.
I only finished up this series because I already had the wilder one (the follow up with the kids) so I wanted to finish this series out. These are all ok. Each indiv story is really short so I kind of hated paying for each one for that reason. The first 4 were in a set and that was almost equal to one book. I love a good series and do love this family and how all the character kind of pop up in the books. However, besides that they were just ok. They are semi spicy romances but kind of falling flat on all sides. They plots are on really shortened timelines. Everyone seems to fall in love in a week and there isnt a lot of conflict. The spicy gives it a little something not enough to think these books were great.
4 stars I purchased Saturday Night Special:Wild Irish Series book 6 by Mari Carr and this review was given freely. A friends to more steamy romance. Chef Rylie and her best friend of 20 years,Police officer Aaron's story. Aaron flies emergently to Las Vegas to save Rylie from a potentially dangerous drunken encounter with a married man and ends up fulfilling his dreams with a spur of the moment wedding to Rylie unfortunately he has to convince Rylie that marriage to him is what she wants. A chaotic and at times humorous action packed novel containing cheating,a steamy romance, jealousy, multiple weddings, some spanking and bondage as well as the seemlier side of Las Vegas.
I couldn't even get through the second chapter. He took advantage of her while she was super drunk so he could marry her! That's just creepy! Then, when she wakes up and finds out she's married, she's not happy. But he's super smug, ignores her protests and attempts to leave, and forces physical contact with her!
"When he failed to budge, her shoves turned to slaps. “Get off me!” He shook his head and lowered until he was supporting his upper body with his elbows, rather than his hands."
It is not okay for a guy to advantage of a women when she's drunk and ignore her physical boundaries!
This was a fun book, but quite a bit different than the other books in the series. Aaron Young gets a call that Riley Collins has run off to Las Vegas and he chases her out there. Aaron has been Riley's best friend and protector for years. Riley is the wildest of the Collin's clan and says she'll never settle down. But during a drunken confession to Aaron about how she wants what her siblings have, he takes advantage of the location and marries Riley before they can get away. But before they can really celebrate, they have to find their friend, Travis. The adventure includes prostitutes, strippers, Wayne Newton impersonators and food fights.
Sweet novella book 6 in the Wild Irish series. Can be read and enjoyed as stand-alone. Each book is about a different sibling in the Collins family and their HEA. Riley the youngest girl in the family is the wild child. She is the chef at the family pub and restaurant and always in need of rescue. Aaron is her opposite, a police officer who has been her best friend and rescuer for many years. He is tasked with finding and bringing her home from Las Vegas. He takes advantage of their location and makes Riley his once and for all then the fun really begins!! Super sweet and steamy!!
What can I say this book was hysterical and hot! When Aaron and Riley weren't 'under the covers ' heating up the pages, they were in the middle of the merriment of playing, "Where's Trevor?" I loved how the story flowed together and the wild cast of characters fit perfectly in the story. This is one of those reads were you laugh until you cry. And....What happens in Vegas. ...Never stays in Vegas!
Work hard and party harder well until you end up married to your best friend your in love with and on one hell of a missing persons mission in the middle of Vegas.
I laughed and I cried the whole way through this book. It was the perfect way to celebrate the craziness that is most people's Saturday nights, wrapped up in one perfect book.
I was happy to finally see Riley and Aaron together. Friends to lovers is always special because they know everything about each other and still love each other anyway. In true Riley craziness, their wedding and subsequent honeymoon week had me laughing and sighing with envy for the love they share. Great book I will want to read again.
I had the best time reading Saturday Night Special. I giggled, I chuckled and I guffawed. It reminded me of some of the old slapstick movies I loved as a kid. This is, in essence, Aaron and Riley's love story but the scrapes they get into with the zany cast of characters just put the whole darn book over the top!
I haven't laughed so much in my life while reading a book. Riley and Aaron were great together and Las Vegas adventure was hilarious. Mari outdid herself with this book. All I can say if you don't read this book you are missing something really special. It was great.
I knew that Riley's story would be crazy!! So glad her and Aaron got together. They were friends since they were three years old. He finally took control and married her!! Love this story. I cannot wait for Sean's story!!! Love this series!!
Best book ever ! The author really got this one down . You Will laugh at the beginning and all the to the end.I would give it a Ten Star if I could .You will laugh till you cry .💕😂💞💕💕.
This book was so sweet and funny with a good plot line, it’s just what I needed. I absolutely love Riley and Aaron together and I’m so glad I picked up this book to read it
