When Topaz releases her long-awaited CD, knocking her off the charts, former Hollywood "it girl" Sabre Cruz, determined to get back on top, launches a smear campaign to destroy her rival, while Nina Beaubien attempts to revamp the Suicide Record Label with the help of her cousin. Original.
I was highly disappointed by this book. Sheila Copeland is one of my favorite authors, and this book series was one of my favorites. I honestly thought the series was fine where it ended in the last book.
I was going to write a long exhaustive reason of why I did not like the book, but I don't even feel like bothering. Instead I'll share the breaking point. The author kills one of my favorite characters for no apparent reason. I literally stopped right there - i can't even bear to finish it - and now wish I had not started.
Ok, I love the story, but the writing was mediocre at best. There were obvious typos also. The name dropping was ridiculous. The characters were undeveloped. You couldn't relate to any of them. Ms. Copeland could have done a better job with Sabre. I never felt sorry for her. I was waiting for this book for so long and this is what was delivered? The book seemed rushed.
Although I liked this book I've had enough of the series. Killing a character didn't sit well with me. Topaz gets on my last nerve. I wouldn't want to read anymore about this group
