One Fake boyfriend. One toxic wedding. One Glamma-level scheme to turn pretend into forever.
I didn't mean to lie to my boss before ever meeting him. But when a hot stranger pulled over to "help" while I was stranded on the side of the road, I panicked and said I had pepper spray (nope), a taser (also nope), and that my boyfriend would be arriving any second.
My "boyfriend" being... my boss. Who, surprise, turned out to be the hot stranger.
Now I'm fake-dating Drew Kingsley—my very off-limits boss—to survive my sister's wedding. You know, the one where she's marrying my ex, and my entire family is acting like I should just get over it.
I was already half in love with Ellie before she told me I was her imaginary boyfriend.
She's brilliant, hilarious, and so beautiful it hurts to look directly at her—but I hired her to be my PA, not my soulmate. I definitely didn't plan on fake-dating her in front of her wildly toxic family, move her into my house, or constantly imagine what it would be like to kiss her for real.
But here we are.
And the more time I spend with her, the more I know I don't want this to end. Not the charade. Not the late-night talks. Not the way she looks at me like I'm someone worth loving.
This small-town romcom features fake dating, found family, a plus-size heroine with a heart of gold, a cinnamon-roll CEO in denial, and one chaos-loving Glamma determined to make their true love happen—even if she has to get them to fake it first.
Thank you to the lovers Notes PR for provindig me with ARC in exchange for an honest review

📖 Trama / Historia
Es súper respetuoso, cero tóxico, y tiene esa clásica actitud de “I shouldn't want her… but I do so badly”.
I just picked this book up out of curiosity. I went in blind, hadn’t seen any reviews anywhere, but the title sounded cute, so I decided to give it a try. And I wasn’t disappointed.
I was hooked from the first chapter. This book has small town vibes, a meddling grandma, workplace romance, fake dating, a protective MMC, he falls first energy, a plus size FMC, and so much more.
I love how Drew is such a guy’s guy. The way he stood up to protect Ellie had me swooning. My guy was so finished for her.
I also love how the author wrote about Ellie’s family dynamic, how her parents always picked her younger sister over her and still expected her to be happy for them after what happened. It was so real and relatable.
Drew’s family rallying around Ellie and showing her the love she never got from her own was beautifully done. And the residents of Ruby Rivers adopting and protecting her made my heart so full.
Drew’s relationship with his family was also written with so much warmth and depth.
This book had me giggling nonstop. I literally couldn’t put it down and finished it at midnight. Every character was beautifully written.
This is an easy 5 star read for me and I highly recommend it. I’m thankful to myself for discovering this author. The author’s note at the beginning set the tone perfectly and did not disappoint.
The first meet up between Drew and Ellie was so cute they only knew eachother through phone calls since Ellie is Drew assistant shes finally meeting him and well let's say it was eventful lol. And from that moment they both fell even more but they are only work partners. Until Ellies family pushes her into helping plan her sisters wedding to Ellies ex who cheated on her. Thats when Drew steps in to help and make sure they dont take advantage of his buttercup hehehe.
Fake dating and his whole family knows and supports it. Which i loved and was different. His entire family was so sweet to Ellie and treated her with such kindness. Ellies family was a peace of work. I felt so bad for her. But glad she was standing up for herself and her peace!! The spice was good to hehe we love a man who isnt afraid to go down town.
Low angst, no ow/tiny om, no cheating, slight secondary character, drama, sexy times, no virgins

This book was a total impulse read that turned into a five-star favorite.
From the very first chapter, I was mesmerized by the cozy small-town vibes, the fake dating chaos, and Drew’s quiet but intense devotion to Ellie. He falls first, he falls hard, and the way he protects and supports her is pure swoon. Ellie’s strained family dynamic felt painfully real, making it impossible not to root for her happiness.
What truly made this shine was the found family. Drew’s family and the town of Ruby River embracing Ellie, lifting her up, and helping her see her worth had me emotional in the best way. It’s laugh-out-loud funny, surprisingly heartfelt, and full of warmth that lingers long after the last page.
I would happily read a dozen more books set in Ruby River. 😍
this book was bloody brilliant!! i absolutely loved it! first of all what an amazing guy Drew was! he was completely gone for Ellie all through the book 😍 the way he was so protective of her was just🔥🔥. I adored Ellie! what a strong character she was! her family where awful and I was so happy when she finally stood up for herself! Drew and his family where just amazing! they truly made her Ellie feel apart of them and I loved that🫶🏻 Glamma was such a character🤣 I loved her so much! while she was funny throughout the book, the way she was always there for Ellie and Drew was just beautiful! Ellie and Drew where so sweet too. The chemistry was there from day one and I just loved how smitten they where with eachother😍 Honestly Ellie's family and the way they treated her was just horrible. I am so so glad Ellie did the right thing and cut them off for good!💓 Oh and we hate kyle too😤 Stephanie Harrel did so good with this book and I will definitely be reading more from her!

Trope - boss × assistant, billionaire romance, anxiety rep FMC, friends to lovers, he falls first, fake dating, forced proximity, found family, plus size FMC, romcom, small town, workplace romance, sunshine × sunshine, Golden Girl vibes, one sassy Glamma, verbal abuse, HEA Bonus chapter - 1
Thank you, Love Notes PR and Stephanie, for the ARC. I thoroughly enjoyed reading Drew and Ellie's story. It was sweet, emotional, aggravating, and so damn empowering - a complete package that made me feel a whirlwind of emotions. I cried multiple times during scenes that hit too close to home.
The first chapter was hilarious. I laughed so much during those scenes.
What I liked most was how Ellie and Drew had strong chemistry even before the first half was finished. It made their story so much more appealing. Their relationship was beautifully crafted — sweet, understanding, loving, and respectful. They weren't perfect, nor was their relationship, but they were willing to grow together — and they did for most of the book. This made their story feel more real.
Glamma was the star of the book. I loved her. She was my knight in shining armour. I want to be like her when I grow up. The Golden Girl vibes were so fun to read.
The family dynamics in this book were very well-written, with one character evoking strong emotions and another soothing the heart, filling it with love. The Kingsley clan was a dream family.
I loved how Ellie became stronger towards the end. The way each character, including Drew, helped her become more confident with each passing moment was satisfying to read.
I loved how the story unfolded — where they not only lived their future but also fulfilled their dreams together.
The dominoes falling were arguably the best part, but what I loved most was Ellie. Want to know why? Read the book on the 22nd October 2025.
I adore books that include animals or mentions of shelters — those are my favourite moments outside the main couple.
The bonus epilogue was beautiful and sweet. I'm eager to read Marc and Wyatt's stories, especially after getting a glimpse of their partners.
I loved this so much. Definitely recommended. Overall, 4/5.
Book Title: No Rings Attached (The Kingsleys of Ruby River Book 1) Author: Stephanie Harrell Publisher: EJC Moonstar Press Publication Dates: October 22, 2025 (Kindle)/October 30, 2025 (Paperback) Currently Available on KU? ✅ Audiobook? 🙅🏼♀️
🍿 𝘍𝘪𝘳𝘴𝘵 𝘐𝘮𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴: No Rings Attached by Stephanie Harrell had such a strong start that I fell in love with it immediately, and it fully delivers on all things faking dating which is my favorite romance trope. 🥰
🤩 𝚃͏𝚑͏𝚎͏ 𝙱͏𝚎͏𝚜͏𝚝͏ 𝙱͏𝚒͏𝚝͏𝚜͏: I loved the relationship between Drew and Ellie and the way it blossomed as the book went on. It may start out fake, but it feels anything but, and I wanted to smack Drew alongside the head at the end. Thankfully he has a smart family who did that for me. 🤣 Ellie’s family is the literal WORST while Drew’s is so kind and supportive that it will bring tears to your eyes. Poor Ellie spent way too long being walked over by her icky ex and fam, but I was so proud of her when she stood up to them all. Glamma and her gang as well as many of the townspeople were such a treat to read, and I love that Harrell created a Golden Girls vibe! Reading this felt like a warm hug, and you will never want to leave Ruby River (which feels very much like Stars Hallow! 👀).
💭 𝘊𝘭𝘰𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘛𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩𝘵𝘴: This small-town romance will hit you in your feels and I can’t believe how mad the author was able to make me at Ellie’s family. I felt some real strong emotions the entire time I was reading this, but it also has so many light and funny spots as well. I thoroughly enjoyed the author’s writing, and I can’t wait to see what book 2 of this series will bring!
DUDEEE this was looong. They were really cute ngl, but I don’t think what Drew said was THAT bad to create that much of a conflict. Also, if this was fake dating, then my name is Peter Parker and I’m spiderman
This book is so, so good. Ellie is a special character, the forever people pleaser that finally stands up for herself. Then, there’s Drew, her sweet, considerate boss who’s so totally into her. Ugh, I just love them! Stephanie did a brilliant job creating these characters and the world inside Ruby River! The entire Kingsley clan made it feel like being wrapped in a warm hug while I was reading this story; meanwhile, Ellie’s family made me want to slap someone. The love story between Drew and Ellie is so well written and very relatable. I also love that while he helped her realize she needed to find someone that would make her the priority, when he started to slack, she had grown enough to stand up for herself and walk away. Stephanie did an excellent job with this book and I’m so grateful to her and the Love Note PR team for letting me be a part of the ARC team for this one. Get this on release day, tomorrow, October 22!
I have said several times that I enjoy reading books where I can feel everything, regardless of varying levels of angst, joy, or anger. However, I have never gotten so angry at characters as much as I did in Stephanie Harell’s No Rings Attached. And that’s not a bad thing. Through her words, Stephanie made me feel as if Ellie’s mother and sister were directing their selfishness towards me. I adored Drew. I especially loved how much he stood by Ellie, supported, and encouraged her—believed in her. And Glamma—no, I did not misspell that. Glamma and her friends were fantastic—think the Golden Girls but even better! Glamma had the best clapbacks.
The spice was on point. Drew can physically pick Ellie up and loves her body. I love how their romance progressed.
No Rings Attached is very much a found family for Ellie as she saw one through Drew’s side. And I loved that for her.
Thank you to Love Notes PR and Stephanie Harrell for the gifted copy. I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This book was just so good and I absolutely adored every second of reading it!! I loved Ellie and how she learned from the people in Ruby River to open up and accept the love of those around her! The way she stayed concerned for Drew and his comfort, while growing and healing and blossoming through the process was just so beautiful! Getting to see her excel in her job while working on herself and opening herself up to love was just the best!! And Drew was such a sweet man, the way he just immediately stayed by Ellie's side and supported her while she dealt with her family was perfection! I loved getting to watch him rediscover himself and accept what he wanted in his own life, while staying strong and protective of Ellie! These two were the absolute sweetest together and I just could not get enough of them! Add in the sweet town residents and Glamma and her squad, and this book was so fun and an absolute blast!! Overall this is one of my recent favorites and I am so lucky to have gotten to read it!! 5 stars; 3.5 chili peppers
Tropes: - Small Town - Fake Dating - Boss x Assistant - Toxic Family - Meddling Old Ladies - Forced Proximity
I really loved Ellie and Drew’s story from the very beginning. Their connection felt so real and I’m so glad that they were able to admit their feelings for each other instead of constantly assuming the other half wasn’t interested.
Ellie’s family was a complete dumpster fire but god I loved it when Drew stuck up for her and not to mention Glamma’s badass comebacks, that was hilarious! I absolutely loved the epilogue and it just tied everything together so perfectly.
This book was so cozy to read and I absolutely ate up the small town vibes. Also, I will always stan a plus size FMC!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Special thank you to Love Notes PR and Stephanie for this ARC copy!
This was my first book by Stephanie and I absolutely loved it. Drew was amazing. He showed Ellie that she was everything to him and just being herself was enough. Ellie found her voice and became so much stronger than she thought possible. She stood up for herself and didn't back down. Glamma was the best, I loved her craziness.
ARC review: first, thank you to LoveNotes PR and Stephanie Harrell for giving me this book to review. I was hooked just from the blurb but oh my goodness. 5 stars all across the board. say it with me everyone: WE LOVE A MAN WHO DEFENDS HIS WOMAN I wont post spoilers BUT just know he defends her from the worst people in her life. Drew and Ellie were the perfect example of what love should look like
Thank you Love notes PR en Stephanie Harrell for this ARC! A workplace romance with fake dating? Hit me up! 💼 This book had literally all the tropes I love — small town, found family, and all the cozy vibes. It honestly doesn’t get any better than that. The writing was so smooth and engaging. Stephanie’s style just pulls you right in with the perfect balance of humor and emotion. I adored Ellie — she’s incredibly relatable, and her growth throughout the story was beautiful to witness. 🌸 If you’re in the mood for a heartwarming, funny, and feel-good romance, this one’s a must-read! 💕
I got this book as an ARC through Instagram following and I expected to love it. I love plus sized heroines and family drama and the promise of a Glamma. I expected Avery Flynn meets Stephanie Plum’s Grandma with all the Alina Jacobs family drama that keeps me from ever having to watch reality TV.
But… I didn’t love it. I loved the “clear and open communication” and that their attraction and chemistry was immediate, but it wasn’t quite hitting. Then the whole romance novelist aspect wasn’t quite… idk. Something about a romance novelist main character in a romance novel isn’t my thing. It gives me ick.
I say this with the disclaimer that even though this isn’t for me, it might be your thing. The main female character has epic growth, the male lead has… less epic growth but reaches his own kind of inner peace. It’s cute if you don’t mind improbabilities and crappy side characters (who never grow or evolve). And there is a cat and puppies.
I wanted to like this one more than I actually did. Did I enjoy it...yes. But did I enjoy it...kind of not at times. I did love Drew and Ellie's chemistry. And I LOVED Ellie's personal growth. But there was so much that just fell flat for me. Would I reread. Probably.

I LOVED this book. I think it's one of the best books with "small town," "fake dating," and "boss x assistant" tropes I've ever read!
The plot is absolutely engaging. The first meeting between the protagonists? Hilarious! I screamed, even though they already knew each other, even if it was over the phone. It was beautiful. Drew, the protagonist, is a walking green flag. I loved how his attraction to Ellie stemmed from their work conversations, and he loved her body, eliminating his insecurities! Ellie is a protagonist who experiences progressive growth throughout the book, starting with self-acceptance and throwing herself into her passions, pushing away the negativity that surrounded her.
The story wasn't slow at all; there wasn't a moment where it felt stalled (thanks to Glamma, ily), and it was super fun. I recommend it!
I also want to add that the town reminded me a lot of Stars Hollow!
I enjoyed "No Rings Attached" by Stephanie Harrell. Though the story is pretty insta-love-y off the bat, I feel like the pre-established virtual relationship between the main characters/virtual assistant and boss, Ellie and Drew, makes it feel more believable. They have a very strong connection with one another and have a dynamic full of believable chemistry. The way they each blossom by being together is really sweet to watch unfold. Drew is absolutely gone for Ellie, even before she showed up in person in his town, Ruby River, and I loved watching his cinnamon roll demeanor come out throughout the course of the book. He is fiercely protective of her! Ellie is smitten with Drew right back, but is hesitant to get involved for real because she is worried that he is too married to his job. I also enjoyed watching Ellie gain her independence and confidence from her atrocious family situation. I must say, I have never loathed characters quite like I have in this book. I absolutely HATED Ellie's family, particularly her mother and sister. And don't even get me started on her ex-boyfriend, who is now engaged to her sister. I know that's the point of this story, but I wanted Ellie to punch each and every one of them, like, several dozen chapters before she actually gained the nerve to tell them off. I feel like she should have grown a backbone sooner... I was ready to square up for her! My god, top-tier hall-of-fame awful characters in this book. I loved the small-town vibe, the fake dating shenanigans, and the silly secondary characters. Glamma rules!! What a fun, zany, meddlesome character who injects life and fun into this story! I wish we all had a Glamma! I cannot wait to go back to Ruby River for the next Kingsley sibling's story!
Thank you to Stephanie Harrell and Love Notes PR for the complimentary ARC of this book. All opinions are my own. I was not compensated for this review.
Our MMC is driving when he almost hits a car stalled in the road. When he gets out to help his is distracted by the beautiful woman hiding in the bushes claiming she has a weapon, and that her boyfriend is on his way. One problem - when she says her boyfriend's name, it's him, and he is sure they aren't dating. Except now he knows who she is. Our FMC is visiting this small town to learn more about her job. She is the virtual assistant to our MMC, and didn't immediately recognize him in person, whoops, not the first impression she was hoping for. What's even worse is when they are in the office, he over hears her tell her family she has a boyfriend - and you guessed it - it's him. Only to find out her sister, who is awful to her, is now coming to the same small town to host her wedding there because her followers chose it. Bigger problem , he sisters fiance is her ex, who cheated on her with her sister. But instead of freaking out, he jumps into the roll. Now he has his meddling Glamma set up a plan to show the town, they are in fact dating, have been for a while, and that her awful family can't take her down.
This book checks all my boxes for a perfect Romcom. There is an absolutely hilarious meet cute. there's fake dating one of my favorite tropes just topped with the forced proximity. I absolutely want to be adopted by the Kingsley family and I want to be Glamma when I grow up. But it's not all just sunshine and good times be ready to get your heart broken by Stormy, and you will be so angry on behalf of your fmc. poor Ellie deserves all the happiness she can get. Drew makes everything better, he is the perfect boyfriend, he is sweet, sexy, protective, supportive, attentive and generous. If this hasn't convinced you jet, there is also the setting of the story which is the most adorable little town with romantic founding lore and meddlesome townfolk. be prepared to be enchanted.
Thank you so much Stephanie Harrell for the honor of reading an early copy of this story.
Wow! Such a great book! I loved every second of reading this! Ellie and Drew are fire! This book has everything - heat, drama, comedy and of course romance. Ellie works for Drew and they have only ever corresponded with each other long distance - until she decides to leave her home and go to his town of Ruby River. On her way into town, her car breaks down. And that’s when the hysterical antics begin. Ellie has a mother and sister who are just pure evil. They constantly dismiss, belittle, and humiliate Ellie on a daily basis. So when Celia, Ellie’s sister, decides to move her wedding to the town of Ruby River all heck breaks loose. Enter the badassery that can only be a Glamma and you have hilarity that ensues like you’ve never known!! I laughed so hard through this book anytime Glamma was involved. You will laugh, you will cry. You will get angry and you will love every minute reading in this book. At least I did. I highly recommend reading this book!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
✨ ARC Review - No Rings Attached by Stephanie Harrell ✨
⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4/5) 🌶️🌶️ (2/5)
Many thanks to the author for the opportunity to read and review this ARC!
This was a smooth, comfy, quick read. Everything happens so fast but it flows so perfectly!
Ellie is a virtual assistant that is going to meet her co-workers in person. But before that, she runs into her boss and their accidental meet makes things interesting. 😂
It takes place in a small town where everyone knows everyone...and your business. However, it's not necessarily a bad thing - especially if you need help dealing with your toxic family.
What I Loved: - Ellie is easy to root for. - Sassy Glamma and her squad. - Writing romance novels. - Karma.
Ellie and Drew have amazing chemistry and there are a few blockades before the steam. I recommend this for anyone that's in love with love. ♥️
Oh my gosh!!!!!!! This book had EVERYTHING you want and need in a romcom. I fell in love with the FMC, Ellie, and the MMC, Drew, almost immediately. Then of course how could you not fall in love with GLAMMA!
We were put through the wringer with Ellie’s family and I even cried at some parts relating to how we can see our childhoods through different lenses. My heart broke for her and how her family treated her, but then was put back together again when Drew was there to catch her.
Thank you Stephanie Harrell and Lovenotes PR for this Arc in exchange for my honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This book was very sweet. Drew is a wonderful, supportive mmc, and Ellie really needed his support with her awful family and lack of people in her corner. I am a plus size girl myself and have first hand experience with the disregard and outright bias and vitriol we experience because of our bodies, and this book captured that so well. It also represented a full, plus size woman, rather than the “curvy” hourglass figure women that usually get categorized as plus size in other books. It was so refreshing! If you’re looking for plus size rep, a sweet cinnamon roll mmc, found family, small town vibes, this book is for you 💞 I loved the community the author built in Ruby River and I’ll be waiting for the next book 😊
The FMC is travelling to her new job when she breaks down. Her new boss stops to help her, but as neither have met before, they dont recognise each other. The FMC pretends she has a boyfriend and gives her bosses name as her boyfriend, not realising that he is the one she is talking to.
I enjoyed reading this book and would recommend reading it.
You can’t go wrong when you pick up one of Stephanie’s books! This one though takes the cake, even after been scrapped off the floor 🤭. The way the MMC’s family automatically stepped in and took on the role as her family made my heart so happy! The way he falls for her 🫠 I can’t wait to read what Glama has up her sleeves next! Well done!
Where do I begin?? Imagine Hallmark after dark!!! This book from the start was a hook line and sinker. This was a hard one to put down. When you read this cancel any plans you may or may not have! You will not want to put this down.
What Glamma and her golden girls wants, Glamma and her golden girls get!
Im glad that Ellie gets her HEA. Not just with Drew but with closing the door (that’s been open way too long) with her family.
omg o quanto eu gostei deste livro.
