*This short novella IS included in the back of Elicit (book 4) but many people have been requesting it be set apart, if you own Elicit, you don't need to purchase this novella*
Trace is about to ask her mob boss husband to do the unthinkable...allow his enemy Phoenix De Lange to train her in combat, the very same enemy who nearly killed her the year before. But Phoenix isn't the man he once was, and now he's out to prove to everyone, himself included that he can be trusted.
This short novella is included in the back of “Elicit “ which is book four in the Eagle Elite series!! This is a short glimpse into Trace and Nixon’s married life! What I loved about it was how it included all of Nixon’s buddies and how they crack jokes at each other! I love the bond they share and considering they are all members of the mafia, they still are able to care deeply for one another!
Even better is the passion that Nixon and Trace share! I will never get tired of that!!!
Disclaimer: This is a part of series and should not be read as a standalone. Enamor is after Elicit(Mo & Tex story) in the Eagle Elite series.
Enamor is a doable read within one sitting as it is 7 chapters (30 pages). This very short novella is my favorite short story out of the Eagle Elite series. Well, next to A Very Mafia Christmas. Anyways, I loved how it showed the dynamic between Nixon/Tracey/Phoenix after everything that happened, as well as gave a glimpse into Nixon and Tracey married.
Overall~
I thought it was interesting that Tracey showed a great amount of maturity. In Elite & Elect, Trace was rather immature at times and naive. In this novella, Trace forgave Phoenix for what he did, even though he feels he is not worthy of that. Basically, the novella gave more insight into her growth and how the mafia harden her as a person.
This short novella also foreshadows to Phoenix's new way of life (which Ember is the next one in this series and his story). He has a lot of regret for how he had to treat women. One of the hardest time was what he did to Tracey in the past. Phoenix is not looking for redemption, rather he wants to suffer for his action. He died a long time ago for the things he had to do. Maybe the others & someone else will found him redeemable like Trace and he'll find the light in all his dark thoughts.
Lastly, I recommend checking this series out and picking this one up after Elicit.
This was good, a nice little extra 30-40 pages or so of Trace and Nixon. I think the kicker and ultimately the important part here is Phoenix. How he's not only becoming a new person, but how he's been given Trace's forgiveness and how he's mending relationships with the other members of the Elect. I think that'll be important to keep in mind moving on with the series.
Just when I made a comment in my last review about when these characters are going to start their own families, we get a bonus novella about Trace and Nixon and their possible start on family life!!! oh and a bit of marshall arts training - can't wait to see when the babies actually start happening!
Bonus Novella in the back of Elicit ebook, *it's not on the audio of Elicit.
Trace, wanting to learn some hand to hand combat, wants none other than Phoenix to teach her. Unfortunately, this does not sit well with her hot, sexy, mafia boss husband, Nixon. Learning to try to let go and move on, Nixon finally relents, but not without a watchful eye. Someone has to make sure that Phoenix doesn't cross a line again.
This was a cute short story of the love that Nixon has for Trace and that he would go to great depths for her.
Awe to have a love like that....definitely a cute read!
I definitely recommend reading this before diving into Ember. I'm so jacked to read Pheonix's book because I think that it's going to be EPIC. This continues to give a taste of what he has to overcome with regaining everyone's trust, overcoming his past actions and allowing himself to feel free of his past. I. Can't. WAIT!
I thought this one went a long way to cement the new bond all the guys are re-forming. I especially liked how Trace was able to forgive and allow someone a big chance at redemption within their crowd.
I liked the moment he and Trace had where he hugged her and they restarted. Phoenix is helping Trace because he thinks he owes it to her but he's still hating himself every day and struggling to move past everything and who notices exactly how he's been carrying himself? My boy Tex.
Tex is very smart but he doesn't speak very often to show it and when he does it's like this boy has brains! But I already knew he had brains bc he's Tex and he hides face well. My beautiful Cappo
Also, gotta love Chase and Tex in the monitor room lmfao. God.
Don't really care much about Trace and Nixon making babies. Though seeing Nixon as a father might make me hate him less bc I bet he'd love and treat the kid a million times better than Trace and his boys.
Loved seeing Trace and Nixon again. Along with getting to see Phoenix being given a second chance. In some circumstances when you feel it in your soul you know that a second chance is deserved. I hope he redeems himself. Bring on Ember...
I love this little Novella, because I think it was neccessary for Trace and Phoenix to forgive each other and start new.
Just wished that Nixon and Chase would be as open to it as Trace was. Especially because thanks to Phoenix they are all still alive.
I mean Phoenix took the blame for everything, as always tried to be their own personal human shield. Yet, where were the guys when he needed help? They just let him push them away without really digging what the fuck was going on.
Was Phoenix wrong when he did what he did, yes of course he was. But the blame for his action aren't just squarely on his shoulders. The in-action of all the othter guys was what led him to do what he did. And don't get me started on all their fathers...

I loved this little novella enabling us to look a little closer at Phoenix, Nixon and Trace and the dynamics between them following 'that' day. Trace requests combat training from the one person she is most afraid of, but possibly the best person for the job. It's great seeing the gang start to trust each other. As much as I disliked Phoenix and the things he did previously, I have to say I'm warming up to him and I'm looking forward to reading his story. A quick, easy read that I enjoyed immensely.
This was a fun little novella, and a bit more light hearted than some of the books so far in this series. I really liked how Trace tackled things in this with a particular character, and definitely look forward to reading more!
This is a novella found at the end of the Fourth book. Focused on Nixon and Trace, it is moreso the story of how Phoenix is accepted and how they all work their issues out. I loved the feeling in this one that we were back to the original Elite book personalities. There wasn't a war or a mafia hit to worry about, just dealing with each other. A nice relaxing change.
12/2014: I like this one a lot because it sets up nicely for Phoenix's story. It gives a little bit of background before we get into the next book and it sets it up very well. I think we all have had a hard time with Phoenix and we want to believe in him, we just needed to see into him a little more. Plus the healing between him, Trace and Nixon was very necessary.
This was a really quick read. It was a closer look into Nixon and Trace. It showed a little different side of Trace. It was also the beginning of a rebuilding of trust, not only between Trace and Phoenix, but between the Elect members.
A short little novella set before Ember. Trace wants to train to fight and she wants to get past what happened to her. So she asks Phoenix to train her in Krav Maga. Needless to say, Nixon and Chase aren't happy about it. Tex is ambivalent, because he's Tex.
I absolutely loved this book. I first found this series on the Radish app and fell in love with it so I bought the entire series on Amazon and realized that app started me out on book 3 so I started over from the beginning. Will definitely read this series more than once.
This book is a novella that is included in the back of Elicit. And I absolutely love this addition to the story. It is painful, heartbreaking, but also feels like that the things that happened with Trace and Phoenix are moving in the right direction (I did not think I would ever say this but yes they are) and I love that for this story. The next book should be about Phoenix, so I think this is the beginning of his story and I can’t wait to read it!

I loved this novella! Nixon and Trace are my favorites so I was super excited to read this story about them. It was short, but it was still hilarious and cute at the same time. I love how much Nixon has grown since Elite. He obviously still has some "rage issues", as he says, but he has become much more understanding and patient since Trace came along and I love that about him. Plus it's been a long time since we've gotten anything from Trace's POV so I loved being back in her head.
This was a short and sweet novella about Trace and Nixon with the usual side characters. It focuses mainly on Trace wanting to learn to defend herself and facing her fears and past ghost. This allows for some tense times but also some light heartedness. In the end this helped alleviate some of the tension within the group and made us fall in love with the characters more.
This was a great short story. I loved the fact that Trace was brave enough that she wanted Phoenix to train her and also try to get over her fear of him. And the fact that Phoenix was brave enough to face Nixon's wrath showed that he wanted that as well.
I'm very interested in reading Phoenix's story now because he has changed so much since book 1.
I had to read this short novella again! I love this series so much! Nixon and Trace are so cute and fun! This story just makes me laugh! All of these characters are my favorites! Love Rachel's writing! She is awesome!
This is only about 30 pages and included in the back of Elicit. It helps resolve some issues that Nixon and Trace have with another character from Elicit. It was nice to have that string tied up and get some more from their perspective.
"Enamor" is more like redemption in that Trace requests of Nixon, who could deny her nothing, to allow Phoenix to train her in self defense. Phoenix, who was Nixon's former best friend. Phoenix, who came back from the dead. Phoenix, who almost succeeded in raping Trace...
Love this book and how Nixon was so concerned about Trace going back to school. How he trusted and listened to her about learning how to defend herself. She picked the perfect person to train her too. To help with forgiveness and healing.
