Queens of Woven Fates

Rate this book
Queens of Woven Fates is the fast-paced, spicy romantasy sequel to Queens of Spells and Stone with parallel storylines perfect for fans of the Throne of Glass series and From Blood and Ash - where enemies become lovers, hidden identities are threatened, and the only thing more dangerous than taking a throne…are the deadly secrets of meddlesome gods.

Claiming the crown was only the beginning…

Surrounded by a Royal Council she does not trust, and fearing that her magic was corrupted by a nefarious spell book, Queen Absolute Esmeray must rebuild her tarnished reputation from the ashes of her ruthless rise to power. But the Dark Queen has made many enemies, and she swiftly learns the price to keep the throne is higher than she ever anticipated.

While embracing her newfound freedom, Lenna worries her returning migraines are a foreboding sign that a dangerous prophecy is coming to fruition. And when she is confronted by a mysterious stranger, Lenna realizes just how tangled the threads of the past are - especially when the gods get involved.

Across the sea, Orla struggles to adjust in a magic-imbued land. With no way home, she is brought before the Prince and given an ultimatum. To escape a terrifying fate, Orla must utilize every bit of her cunning - even if it means accepting truths she is determined to conceal. But the arrogant Prince watches her closely, beasts of myth converge on the Kingdom, and Orla's only chance at survival may very well be the magic she fears most.

Queens of Woven Fates

As always I want to thank Katerina Stevens for allowing me the privilege of enjoying their work. I just adore the world they have crafted- and the talent for writing is amazing.

I'm so grateful and if you haven't seen the cover reveal for the next book " The Witches of Bramberry Forest," definitely take a look on Katerina Stevens or my page for Instagram. So exciting and that is coming on the 24th of October.

Queens of Woven Fates is the second book in the "Vessels of the Gods," series this is a beefy yet easy to read 520 pages.

Plot:

The plot actually not only still follows Lenna our badass 52 year old fmc, but it also follows another character that you learn about from the first book. I don't want to spoil it but this also follows not only the obsidian and opal kingdom from the first book but the Ruby Kingdom in and a character from the Topaz kingdom across the sea! With multiple political campaigns, wars and adventure this book really hit the mark for me

Characters:

Getting to learn more about Esmerey and Adara was such a treat, while also learning way more about the gods that the beings worship. I won't say more cause I don't want to spoil !!! Honestly it was just so good.

Pacing:

The pacing was fantastic, but this book has an amazing way of telling two different main plots at once. Kinda a situation where you can't read just one more chapter because the next chapter is a different plot and it's a domino effect into reading 70 more pages! ( in the best way.) This really at sometimes was jaw dropping near kindle throwing cliffhangers!

Tropes:
Loathe-to-Love,
Slow Burn
Forbidden Romance
Enemies to Lovers
that "fuck it" moment,
found family,
spicy scenes,
"stay away from my mate,"
The gods made a mistake - oopsie,
a Fae Prince that saves banned books.
A dirty-talking King ((Consort) iykyk)
1st & 3rd person multi-POV,
Parallel storylines
hidden identity,
fated mates & rejected mates
Desert dragons

Favorite quotes:

No more would she be powerless, vulnerable. No more would she be subjected to the whims of lesser beings or the ulterior motives of a certain Prince.

-------

“I love you,” K****** whispered gruffly, raising his head to lock eyes with me. “And if loving you meant our fall from grace, then it would be my highest honor to follow you into damnation.”

Conclusion & Thoughts

I loved it so much that I started DMing the author on Instagram weeping when I was halfway done and when I finished. This book has such a fresh take on fantasy and I can't wait for the third book later this month. Be on a lookout for "The Witches of Bramberry Forest," on October 24th, 2025.

This sequel just blows everything away! omgosh Lenna and Orla are amazing! the chaos, the turmoil, just wow. I didn't think it could get any better than the first book but I was so wrong! this is why I'm glad I gave reading fantasy a chance. and I'm so glad that I did. This book had me on the edge of my seat the entire time. I was burning the candle at both ends. I promise once you get started, you won't stop until you reach the end. BRAVO!! This one was absolutely amazing!

I loved loved LOVED this book and that ENDING OMFG I need the next book immediately.

There has always been a feeling in S J MAAS books that I have never gotten from another fantasy author— UNTIL NOW. The Vessels of the Gods series makes me feel the same way. It’s a connection and feeling towards the characters like we are old friends…like I know the group personally. I love the characters and I can’t wait for more info about Merrick (not trying to spoil anything)

Can’t wait for book three!

This is book two in the Vessels of the Gods series, I really enjoyed it, the world and different kingdoms are fun and intriguing. I am so happy that we got to follow the character I was most interested in at the end of Queens of Spells and Stone. We get to meet some new characters who I absolutely love while still following characters from the first book too.

I really enjoy the magical elements of this story and the interwoven fates of the characters and how they connect with each other. I am very excited to see what happens in book 3 The Witches of Bramberry Forest because the ending to this book was crazy!

This is just an overall fun read, filled with different types of beings and magical qualities. The story is gripping and it will have you wanting to know what will happen next. The banter and humour is something I always enjoy in my fantasy reads, this didn't disappoint.

Dragons, witches, fae, gargoyles shifters and more!

If you love fantasy reads with fun characters and passionate storytelling, then I recommend you try this one!

Thank you to Katerina Stevens and Rattle the stars pr for gifting me the ARC and for the opportunity to read this series. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I knew I was going to love this book the moment I finished Queens of Spells and Stone and immediately craved more. I adored the characters in the first book, but in Queens of Woven Fates I completely fell in love with them.

Katerina expands the world beautifully, finally introducing us to a few of the Goddesses—something I had been dying to know more about—and she absolutely delivers. With this book, the threads of the series title begin to weave together, and everything starts to click into place.

The realms grow deeper, the magic richer, and Terramere itself becomes so vivid it lingers in your thoughts even when you’re not reading. It’s that rare kind of story where you find yourself daydreaming about the world and its people as though they’re real.

Esmeray in Chapter 31… just wow. The Queen of Decimation left me speechless.

Sparrow’s journey—heartbreaking, healing, and empowering—stays with you long after the last page.

Our courageous Oracle blossoms brilliantly, truly stepping into her own power.

The Ruby Kingdom introduces captivating new characters, while familiar faces return in surprising ways that had me cheering and screaming.

Orla. She’s back—and I couldn’t be happier. Fiery, fierce, and unapologetically herself. Watching her journey unfold was pure magic, and honestly, it may have been my favorite part of the whole book.

The twists, turns, and revelations kept me on edge, constantly testing my theories—sometimes confirming them, often proving me completely wrong. And the best part? This series is far from over. The anticipation is thrilling and torturous all at once.

I could talk about this book for hours, but instead I’ll say this: start reading now. Queens of Woven Fates does not disappoint.

Long live the Vessel Queens!

another easy five stars for me. this series just keeps getting better and better and more intricately woven as we go on.

the second book of katerina’s vessels of the gods series is packed with action, emotion, intrigue, and so many twists and turns. i was on the edge of my mf SEAATT.

im such a sucker for found family and this group of characters just scratches that itch so perfectly. the way they are written is just so so well done. i would jump off a building for any and all of them.

orla? burn me alive.
esmeray? pierce me with those horns.
merrick? torture me.
esmeray? feed me to your dragon.
keerian? rip me apart.

…did i mention esmeray?

i cant forget to mention the politics that have gotten even more interesting as we’re slowly introduced to more of the kingdoms (which btw i’m obsessed with the fact that they’re named for stones…like yes. so much yes). i LIVE for politics and war and all that goody goody despair and battling in my fantasy books. eat that shit up for every meal. i cannot WAIT to see what comes next as we get into the rest of the kingdoms and all of these rulers who all have their own agenda. SCRUMPTIOUS.

Queen of woven fates - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

An effortless five stars. Queens of Woven Fates is easily one of the most gripping books I’ve read in ages—a breathtaking sequel that had me laughing, crying, and gasping out loud. Katerina has truly found her stride in this installment of the Vessels of the Gods series, delivering a high-stakes, emotionally charged story that’s even more addictive than the first. From the very first page, the pace never lets up. With parallel storylines that seamlessly weave together, we're pulled deeper into a richly imagined world of corrupt royalty, ancient prophecies, and gods who meddle more than they should. Every chapter ending lands like a thunderclap—twist after twist, revelation after revelation, each more thrilling than the last.
Katerina’s world-building is more refined, her characters more complex, and the emotional stakes higher than ever. Fans of Throne of Glass and From Blood and Ash will devour this spicy romantasy where enemies become lovers, identities unravel, and claiming the crown is only the beginning.

Thank you for the ARC ❤️

An effortless five stars, easily one of the most gripping books I’ve read in a long time. I laughed, I cried, I whooped and hollered. This book swept me up in an emotional whirlwind, and I loved every second of it.

Each chapter ending pulled me in deeper, and Katerina delivered twist after twist, along with thrilling revelations that never let up. In this latest installment of the Vessels of the Gods series, we’re introduced to new kingdoms, delve further into each character’s powers and personal histories, and peel back layers of secrets that both satisfy and provoke even more questions.

It’s no secret I adored the first book, Queens of Spells and Stone, but this sequel moves at a swifter pace, with even more refined world-building and stunning character growth. It truly feels like Katerina has found her stride. That ending left me reeling, desperate for answers and counting down the days until I can dive into book three.

I am FLOORED. My heart is racing after finishing this book. Without giving anything away...those CLIFFHANGERS (plural!!!) nearly finished me. I’m not okay.

This was such a perfect follow-up to Queens of Spells and Stone. Katerina Stevens continues to prove she’s a master of weaving political intrigue, divine chaos, banter, and slow-burn tension into one unputdownable story. The world-building is rich, the character arcs are emotionally charged, and the threads between the characters (especially Esmeray, Sparrow, Lenna, and Orla) are so beautifully intertwined.

I love these characters so much!!! Each of them carries scars, secrets, and strength that feel real. The moral grayness, the divine meddling, the prophecies, the impossible choices — it’s everything I want in a series. I am enthralled. Catch me singing about this from the rooftops.

Somehow, I got approved for an ARC of The Witches of Bramberry Forest 😭✨ (Book three releases October 24th!!) so brb diving in. I'm scared.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ – Absolutely Addictive!

I loved, loved, LOVED this book — & that ENDING? OMFG HELLO?? Give me the next one!

Queens of Woven Fates completely consumed me from the very first page. It’s rare to find a sequel that not only matches the first book’s magic but also surpasses it in every way. It’s a breathtaking, heart-pounding masterpiece filled with twists, betrayals, & moments that had me gasping out loud.

The characters are everything. Complex, flawed, & utterly unforgettable. The way Katerina writes relationships — the love, the loyalty, the pain — makes it impossible not to care deeply for each one of them. (&&&&& let’s just say… I need more Merrick 😏

If you’re a fan of Throne of Glass, From Blood & Ash, or again-ACOTAR, this series deserves a permanent spot on your shelf. Katerina’s storytelling just keeps getting stronger, & I cannot wait to see what she does with book three.

Ps. Begging for book 3 😭

I loved Queens of Spells and Stone, and somehow this book was even better! I don't always like a multi POV, but it's done so well in this book. probably because you couldn't really pick out one obvious FMC or MMC.

The world building really ramps up as more of Terramere is revealed. The magic system is unique, and I love having a mix of beings in a story.

I'm still emotionally invested in the tough things these characters go through. The writing really put me in their shoes. The friendships built in book 1 blossomed in book 2, and all of the characters show they'll do anything to make sure their friends and loved ones are safe. The banter continued, along with a sassy, take no 💩 Orla.

Questions are answered, but that ending left me wishing I didn't start this series until it was complete. Can't wait for the next book!!

This world owns me.

If Queens of Spells and Stone was about rediscovering power, Queens of Woven Fates is about wielding it without apology.

Katerina Stevens does what only great fantasy authors can she expands her world in a way that feels both massive and intimate. I finally got to meet the Goddesses (which god do I love the concept of goddesses), and every new reveal just hit harder than the last.

This book continues with our fierce, queen Lenna and a few new POVs that instantly stole my heart. Between political wars, divine chaos, and kingdoms on the edge of ruin, the story never lets you breathe… in the best way possible.

The pacing? Addictive. The emotion? Unrelenting. The ending? I had to close my Kindle aka the app and just stare at the ceiling.

This world owns me. I am not free.

The second book of a series isn’t always the best book….however, THIS one is better than the first!
The whole story is non-stop, gripping, and utterly captivating. I wasn’t sure what to expect after the first book, I thought it was good, but not great. Katerina absolutely found her footing here and completely blew me away with the development of the world, characters and story as a whole.

There is so much going on I couldn’t stop turning pages. The multiple plot lines and POV’s are so intricately woven together creating such a unique experience. The magic, the romance, and the characters really shine creating a world that is completely immersive.

There is still a POV shift from third to first person for one character, but somehow I find it just works.
I am so wrapped up in this series now I cannot wait to start book three.

If I could give this book 10 stars, I would. I thought the first book, Queens of Spells and Stones, was *chefs kiss*… Queens of Woven Fates takes the lead by far.

I loved being able to see through all of the characters eyes. Their thoughts, powers, emotions, relationships. Knowing each character on a deeper level. It really connected me with all of them.

There was no ‘slow’ moment in the book. I was on the edge of my seat, reading for hours wanting to know what would come next in the upcoming pages. Between the kingdoms, the acats, new characters, new love, battles, etc. I was left satisfied and craving for more!

Katerina did a fantastic job with both of her books and it’s such a joy to see her grow and flourish with each one.

I cannot wait for book #3!!!!

I'm not used to seeing Book 2 do even better than Book 1 but this one sure did. Queens of Woven Fates builds out the world even more and immerses you deep within. Ruling and politics, magical and all matter of beings reveal themselves in this book as well as the vessels of the gods. I'm so deeply invested in the characters and their collectives journeys that I love the different POVs. It helps me to feel like I'm not missing out with any of the characters. I tried to hold out until closer to book 3 before I read them but I just couldn't hold out any longer.... Now I'm on pins and needles just waiting.

I'm actually wholeheartedly ruined (in the best way) after reading this book. What are you doing to us Katerina!

I'm actually in shock at that ending and need the next book, like... now!

Katerina really outdid herself with Queens of Woven Fates, I absorbed every page. The plot was phenomenal, there was twists and turns but the plot itself was so detailed and woven intricately throughout. Just breathtaking!

Can't recommend this enough, please, please read... you will not be disappointed.

“Welcome to ruling - it’s a bitch.”

This was such an amazing sequel to Queens of Spells and Stone!!! The world definitely expands beyond the Irridessen kingdom and introduces larger scale politics, magic, dragons(!!!), and vessels of the gods. This book absolutely made me cry and got me so good. I am completely invested in Orla’s journey and need more from her POV. I have sooo many theories/guesses about what is going to happen next and I can’t wait for book 3! Highly recommend!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ As if the first of this series, Queens of Spells and Stones wasn’t good enough, Steven’s follows up with this stellar gem! You’ll come to love the characters from book one even more (even despite the brooding), and will fall more in love with the new ones. Be prepared for emotional whiplash, twists and turns, and shocking revelations. If you like friends as family, strong female characters, magic, dragons and Gods, betrayal, and fighting for what you believe in…this one is for you. You will be HOOKED!

I didn’t think I could love this book more than I loved book one, but I absolutely did. I adored this book. This book gave me the same feelings that SJM books gave me. I haven’t read a fantasy that made me feel this way in so long. I’m obsessed. I need the next book right now. The beautiful world Katerina wrote about in the first world is expanded in this book in the most perfect way. The story kept me guessing the whole time. Please, if you haven’t yet, pick up these books now!!

Great series

I am so captivated by the world that has been depicted in the series. I never want the books to end. As each of the main characters face different challenges, you can feel their strife. I am not sure how many books in total there will be, but I can't wait to continue this journey.

Holy moly! I really enjoyed the first book, but this was quite a ride.

The world building continued, and many questions were answered. One of my favorite parts of this book was the multiple POVs. It added another layer to an already complex story.

This is turning out to be one of my favorite series of the year. I can't wait to see what happens next!
