This is a rerelease, formerly titled She Wants All the Smoke. Smoke is a man with his whole future ahead of him. Even though his rise wasn't ideal and could be frowned upon by many, he is proud of his accomplishments. It's just something about that old life that keeps pulling him back. When he meets Veah, he hastens to tie up loose ends. With a brother content on doing things his way, Smoke realizes that the ties he wants to sever are not so easily broken, Questions surround Veah's life, but when she meets Branson "Smoke" Lawson, he seems to have all the answers. He makes it all seem simple, but finding the courage to trust in the midst of chaos may be too daunting for her and her situation. Trying to go into every new experience with his eyes open, this time, the red flags may be too plentiful for her to ignore. What she doesn't know about Smoke is that he loves a challenge.

I ate this book up! I love a good hood romance with the appropriate amount of drama. It wasn’t too over the top, but just right. I enjoyed the multiple POV. Smoke & Veah were the perfect match. I can’t wait to read the rest of this series!
Veah is tired of being hurt by who she thought would be her forever. A chance fender bender leads to a one-nightstand that turns into something more. When a man shows up applying pressure, you make room. But what if he has hella skeletons in his closet and they’re all falling out?
Smoke is trying to get out the game and get his brother Brick out too. Yet, everything that could go wrong is going wrong, pulling him deeper into the game. Then he meets Veah and it’s like he sees his chance in his grasp. When things blow up, he has to make moves to keep her protected and his brother too.
Now Veah was very cookie cutter, green and too trusting for her own good. She always look for the good in people while Smoke don't put nothing past anybody. I love how Smoke let's Veah be herself but also helping her to get out of her shell. Overall great read.
This book was messyyyyy. If you’ve read Priest or Prince by Bre Shadae, this book was pretty different. There was a lot of drama and twists but it didn’t take away from the romance. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.
Behind all the drama and mess there’s a couple who just want to be in love and in peace. There’s a lot of ain’t shit friends and ex’s! But I really enjoyed this book…Go read it, I had a messy time!!!!
OMG! That was a ride and a half! From start to finish the action was actioning, all for your person. This makes me side eye people’s intentions 🤣. Bre does not miss!
I enjoyed reading Chashing Ghosts: She Wants All The Smoke. Smoke and Veah journey to love was amazing and kept me on my toes throughout the whole book. I enjoyed the storyline and the characters. Bre Shadae did an amazing job with this book. It is definitely one of my favorites.
This was an awesome read! Your friends really can be your enemy. Beau only wanted love and her man and best friend showed her nothing but betrayal. Then here comes Smoke and flips her world upside down in all kinds of ways. Read y’all to find out all the drama
The first half of this book had me giving a heavy side eye to Derek and Maya, especially Maya because with a friend like that who needs enemies. Although Veah was hurt by Derek she should not have let that get in her head when it came to Smoke and she seemed to have a little self esteem issues. I liked that Smoke wasn't letting up and really applied pressure to finally get her.
Once I got to the second half of the book there were a lot of moving parts and while I was able to keep up, I would have liked to see some more details on certain situations that were brought up like the bar scene with Antonio and Veah's parents. The ending also felt a little rushed to me and Veah had me about to smack some sense into her with her too big heart almost getting her into another bad spot. I enjoyed the book but I think I may have enjoyed it a little more if some more details were provided to some of the scenes.
Brae2025 Read Another new author to me, and I really enjoyed this one. Maya definitely should’ve gotten a little more karma, but overall it wasn’t a bad read at all. The story kept my attention, and I liked the pacing. I’ll definitely be checking out more from this author.
