True love is hiding where you least expect to find it...
Jewelry designer Tori Henderson’s first year in business was far more expensive than she could have imagined. Faced with closing the doors of Tori’s Treasures, she sinks her last dollar into one final promotion—a widely publicized treasure hunt for a chest of fine, handmade jewelry that could drum up enough business to get her back in the black... or kill her shop once and for all. The last thing she needs is her mother's announcement that she's preparing to marry Edward Trainor, the father of Tori’s long ago summer crush, Gabe - a man who regularly makes his way into Tori's dreams some ten years later. Corporate tycoon Jed Trainor has no intention of attending his estranged father’s wedding, and he certainly doesn’t need to see his half-brother Gabe after the other man put the moves on Jed's one-time fiancée. But with business problems looming, Jed needs time to think, and the small town of Moon Lake seems like the perfect place to hide away while he figures out how to save his empire. The last thing he needs is the distraction of a beautiful woman who thinks she’s in love with his idiot half-brother. Tori is determined to win Gabe’s heart, but Jed has other plans. When they learn Gabe is bringing a date to the wedding, Jed offers to bring Tori himself, knowing any woman on his arm is sure to be on Gabe’s radar. But his ploy for her attention just may blow up in his face. Can Jed prove to Tori he’s the Trainor brother she really belongs with?

This was a cute read, especially for being a freebie on Amazon! And get this...another step romance...UGH. But I've found if I just don't think of the two characters as step siblings..the story doesn't get to me as much.
The only thing I really had a problem with this book is how gullible the heroine was with Gabe and then how short tempered she was with Jed.
I picked this book up for free and because it came up while I was looking at Roxanne Snopek's books, which I love, so I thought why not give it a try. It unfortunately included one of my biggest pet peeves. I don't like insta-love or in this case from an unreasonable dislike to all of a sudden in love with each other.
It started off promising enough and I was curious to see how Tori and Jed were going to fall for each other. Tori took an immediate dislike to Jed due to a misunderstanding which was fine. So I waited to see how they would over come that and waited and waited. Then all of a sudden they're kissing and Tori is in love with Jed. I swear it felt like I must have missed something. I would have guessed they spent maybe a total of 2 hours together if you put together all their encounters so I'm not quite sure why or when they fell for each other. Tori is pretty much a shrew to Jed the entire time and while Jed initially seems like a nice guy he ended up totally turning me off by the end of the book. He had this insane jealousy and insecurity issue that never goes away. Even the resolution isn't because he overcomes his insecurities, it's because the other half of the problem goes away. So we don't see any real growth in his character.
Treasure on Moon Lake is a fun story of two men, two women, fractured family relationships, an impending wedding, a failing business, a business being lost - what else could be thrown into the mix as Tori meets Jed. This story certainly is a whirlwind from start to finish. Tori struggles throughout much of the story because she insists on holding on to a youthful crush on Gabe, while fighting her developing feelings for his boorish older brother, Jed. Add in Jed's ex-fiance and Gabe's secret crush Evelyn and it makes for some fun mix-ups and make-ups on Moon Lake.
I wasn't sure what to make of Gabe at the beginning, but by the end, I liked him. I liked how he is portrayed as the womanizer at the beginning of the story, when in reality, he was suffering from unrequited feelings of his own. His vulnerability was quite endearing as he explains his feelings to Jed and asks for his blessing. He is a different man at that point that I expected and he redeems himself to me at the end of the book.
Jed is a tough nut to crack. He puts up a tough exterior because he feels betrayed over and over and his gruff exterior and demanding nature is really a mask to protect him from what he sees as constant situations that leave him feeling hurt and betrayed. He acts boorish and possessive of Tori but I saw through his behavior to the hurt boy underneath who just wants to be honestly loved. I enjoyed watching his transformation near the end of the book - a testament to the power of love.
I receive a copy of this book free from the author to read & review. Tori is the owner of Tori's Treasures, Tori is a very talented jewelry designer. A happily ever after ending story is accomplished in this book but only after quite a bit of work is done by Jed and Tori. There are business troubles, family troubles, a treasure hunt and more in this little love story.
Thank you Library Thing Giveaways for this book to review.
All the characters are one-dimensional (especially the main characters, Jed and Tori).
I spent more time skimming through this book then actually reading it.
It might be your thing for men to be extremely possessive and lusting after a woman he just met, but it's not mine.
You might like this book if you enjoy characters who jump to conclusions and when the plot is driven on a lot of dumb misunderstandings between said characters who are definitely not falling in love. Then there's the ever popular 'I'm not jealous' thing; which gets pretty annoying when it the only thing the main characters are thinking about.
I'm sorry but I prefer stories with substance and characters that have personality.
I liked the chemistry between the characters a lot.. and really want to know where the other stories go. I liked how the characters feelings were expressed and how relatable their circumstances were. Where did it lose the last star? Awful communication... Just assuming what's best for the other person instead if asking.. and making this mistake over and over again kind of made me lose the enthusiasm for the story towards the end, but other than that I really enjoyed Tori and Jed's story.
I have read other books by this author, and this one, though good, was not my favorite. Tori has had a crush on Gabe for years, though she has done nothing about it, and, when her mother marries Gabe’s father, she figures she has an opportunity to see him again at the wedding and see if the feelings are still there and whether Gabe returns them. When she learns Gabe is bringing a date to the wedding, Tori agrees to go with his brother, Jed. Once she agrees to go to the wedding with Jed, there is a definite attraction between Tori and Jed, but both fight it. Can these characters resolve their issues? Will Tori move her “crush” and feelings to Jed, or will they remain focused on Gabe? In the story, we see Tori’s working through and resolution of this issue.
I found the book interesting, but, as I read more and more of the book, I decided Gabe was a jerk and could not understand how Tori could think he was so great or could continue to have ideas about him. I also thought Tori was not too smart to keep on with her infatuation, since she had long grown past the age where she could not see his faults. However, things are as they are, I guess, and she did not or could not turn her feelings off. The story was well written and the characters well developed. However, as I said earlier, I just did not think this book was as good as the others by the author that I have read. There is always a good possibility of miscommunication among and between people, and that was definitely obvious in this book.
Anyone wishing to read a slightly different romance will find this one interesting. The dynamic between Tori and Gabe, Tori and Jed and Gabe and Jed will interest a reader who enjoys this in a story. Tori comes across as juvenile clinging to her juvenile crush, and Gabe is definitely not one of my favorite characters. He seems self-centered and also rather immature. Still, the read is a good one and I recommend you give it a try. I read this as the request of the author.
I love this story. I am reminded of how as women we like to take on more than we should and that sometimes the things that we think we want is not want we will get or need. As young children we pick up on subconscious cues that determine our self-worth and do not realize how it affects us into adulthood. Tori is a young woman whose business was failing and she was doing everything she can to keep it afloat. When her mother was asked her to help with the wedding Tori could not say no. She found out that her mother was marrying the father of the boy she had a crush on when she was younger. This marriage brings Jed Trainer into her life. Their interaction with each other was entertaining. It was great watching them interact with each other. Jed is the half-brother of her childhood crush. Jed and Gabe have their own issues to deal with and Tori complicate it even more. It is amazing to see how God had a hand in their lives. The Trainor family had a lot of past hurts that they needed to overcome to grab hold of the future that God had planned for them. Tori had to learn to stop letting the past color the present thereby affecting your future. I received this book for free from The Book Club Network in exchange for my honest review. I also posted this review on Amazon, Barnes and Nobles, Goodreads, Deepershopper, etc.)”

Amy Gamet's writing and characters are exceptional. I find the characters to be so compelling, interesting, down to earth, and real. The story sucks me in from first page to last page. I simply devour the book in a matter of hours. I look forward to reading more books by this author.

Tori Henderson is a talented jewelry designer, but keeping her business afloat has been a challenge. She decides to hold a treasure hunt, with some of her design pieces as the prize, in hopes of drumming up some business. If worrying about her shop isn’t enough, her Mom announces she is getting married to Edward Trainor. Tori is familiar to the Trainor family. In fact she has had a huge crush on Gabe Trainor, Edward’s son, since she was a teen. For one summer, she and Gabe were inseparable, but like most summer romances, Gabe quickly moved on. Unfortunately Tori has spent the last 10 years dreaming about him. Now she has a chance to see if there is anything still between them. Gabe’s older brother Jed has his own business woes. He takes the two weeks in Moon Lake to hide out and plot a way to win back his corporation. What he doesn’t need is the distraction of beautiful Tori who only has eyes for Gabe. Despite the fact that both Tori and Jed are fighting their mutual attraction, fate has her own ideas. Amy Gamet’s latest romance is a fun read with great characters and a few interesting plot twists.
Oh my. I read these books out of order, and read Fortune on Moon Lake first. While both books are great as a stand alone, it helps to have the background on Tori, since there are references in book two being that she is Melanie's BFF. As with every Amy Gamet book I have ever read, this book will suck you in until you wish you lived in the story. I am now set on finding Moon Lake and moving there! The story was great, as was the love "triangle" with Tori, Gabe and Jed. I also loved how Jed's mom made it so that at some point, he and his father, Tori's future step-father, would have to mend fences and get back into each others lives. Ms. Gamet's books are always an easy read and I never fail to read them from cover to cover in a single sitting. (They are THAT good!) I cannot wait to read the third book about Lisa, Melanie's sister and the relationship she apparently tried to spark up with Melanie's former boyfriend Greg. I can only HOPE Ms. Gamet sees this review and hears my plea...don't let it end here! I fell in love with these characters and I just can't see a way to end the story and have that be the end of them all! :(
This was an interesting story, but somewhat forgettable, and I didn't have a lot of interest in reading on to Book 2. While the story in itself was well written, I would have liked the author to develop the characters a little more. I felt there was room for further personality developments. For instance, we learn very little about Tori and her mother and the life that they had together before wedding announcements, other than she felt that her mother was not proud of her. I also wasn't sure whether I was reading about the actual wedding or the rehearsal night, and I am still not sure. I had imagined some interesting happenings describing dresses, meaningful looks during the exchanging of vows, relationships developing on the dance floor, etc.
When I read a book, I like to "know" the characters to the point where they become part of my life as I read the story, and when I finished this story, I forgot the name of the book a day later, but I did remember the author's name. If there were 1/2 ratings, I would have given it 3 1/2.
I would say that I was just a little disappointed. Tori and Jed were selfish to worried about themselves and playing the pity party games to consider other people's feelings. Tori with her, poor me; I really screw everything I do. I losing my business, to see what others could see. And sending Jed away instead of fighting for her love. Jed with my daddy didn't love me, and my brother betrayed me. I don't want to believe in love. Then after months of time passing and the end of the book. To come to his senses and going back and hoping it's not to late. Don't get me wrong, I did enjoy the book. But I would have liked for it to have ended differently. Like maybe the wedding and a baby.
Jeb has major issues festering from childhood. Tori is her own worst enemy. Together, they need someone to smack them upside their heads and instill some sense. But their problems are understandable and all too human.
Overall, the story is sweet, but a bit disjointed. It's difficult to see how these two really connect. Jeb's a bit of a jerk and Tori's rather wishy washy. They're sniping at one another one moment, then kissing the next. There's no leading up to the romance; it's just plopped in there.
That said, the editing is clean and the story flows pretty well. If you're looking for an enjoyable, if not memorable, read, then this will do.
Tori Henderson has had a crush on Gabe Trainor for 10 years. When Tori's mother and Gabe's father decide to get married, Tori has the opportunity to see Gabe again. However, Gabe's older brother Jed comes along and offers to be Tori's date since Gabe is bringing his girlfriend to the wedding. Tori and Jed fight their attraction from the beginning. Both have issues from childhood to overcome, especially Jed. The story was okay for me. There was a lot of miscommunication that could have been avoided if they had just talked to each other.
I truly enjoyed this book and I wish moon lake really existed. You get to meet some really great people, and a lot of them appear in other books of the series. Each book has its own HEA with a different hero and heroine. The two we focus on most in this book are Tori and Jed. Tori is a townie trying to save her jewelry store. Jed is a man with a lot on his shoulders. The attraction is instant, but can they go through all the hurdles? I definitely see this as a must read.
I love the Finger Lakes but think that using the name Moon Lake - there is one in NYS but in Jefferson County so the North Country - might not have been the best idea. On the other hand, I always love hearing about places I know of in books so mentions of Ithaca and Syracuse made me take notice.
I am trying to figure out how to get my hands on book 2 and cannot wait to read a bit of book 3 on Amazon after it comes out in July.
I read this book in one night, it's a really cute and romantic story! The characters are likable, the plot is interesting and well written, and you can feel related with some situations, come on, who wasn't in between two brothers? lol Highly recommended for any fan of the Romance Genre. ** I received a copy in exchange of an Honest Review **
This story is wonderful and the setting is great! I love the characters and the relationship dynamic of the them. While the characters were looking for the treasure, I found it! Can't wait to read more in this series and by the author.
I was given this book in exchange for an honest review via LibraryThing.

This book was a good book. The author did a great job of writing the conflicts of the book. Some of the transitions between passages were rough, but not bad enough that it distracted from the story.
But the overall story was good and easy to follow.
I have been reading a love story that smells like "Musical Chairs". Tori has a crush a man from years ago. He also has a brother, named Jed. Evelyn is an attractive woman who was once the fiance of Jed. It is a merry-go-round I tell you. Tori wants Gabe, but Gave wants Evelyn, so who will find the real treasure?
I received this in exchange for an honest review. This was a whirlwind of emotions all due to all of the characters jumping to conclusions and so much mess included in the final ending of love winning out against all odds. Cause personally I got really tired of folks being all in their feelings but I also loved that there was real life in the story. Nice job of keeping it real or closer to real
