Read this on ComiXology. Think Batman has is bad? Wait till Halloween comes around and he has to track down the Scarecrow. I thought it was pretty good. Bruce Wayne hasn't slept in days and to make matters worse he has to face off against Jonathan Crane aka The Scarecrow. The illustrations could have been a bit better in some parts but overall the storyline was very solid and you really felt for Batman as he let his feelings known and even some of his deep dark feelings. Also, even Gotham's beloved crimefighter and playboy needs sleep.
I liked this one- it was only 36 pages but with the excellent graphics it was definitely an intriguing story. I was impressed that even with a lack of text there was so much depth in a story dealing with scarecrow and psychosis- I mean only a true artist could convey that in a few frames! Even the movies have to have a couple of scenes with a lot of dialogue.
I haven’t really read any of the Batman comics. We picked this up for free on Free Comic Book Day this past weekend. We thought it was odd that this comic store had so many Halloween comics, but when I looked closely, it appears there is a Halloween Comic Fest – which this was a part of.
I really enjoyed this story. I am fairly aware of who Scarecrow is from the Dark Knight movies and Gotham, tv show. I thought the comic did it really well drawing the fear that people see. I’m not sure how Batman didn’t inhale the gas. Good lungs, I guess?
Obviously this was way too short. But it was enough to make me want to read the graphic novels. My husband owns several of them, so I plan to pick them up in the next month or two, once we’ve read all our free comics!
If you’re a comic nerd, you should definitely keep an eye out for this event next year. We hit up 4 different comic book stores and while they all had a lot of the same ones (the 2016 releases), some had some from previous events left over, and another appeared to just be moving out some of their old stock. So we got a pretty good selection.
I read this on ComiXology and loved it. I decided i wanted to try to get into comics and through my love of batman would be a good way to start, i really wish i had somewhere decent near by to actually by comics as i found reading this online to be a bit of a challenge. great story, action packed and full of batman awesomeness.
My standards for review ratings are different for comics than they are for books, but this was a good story, nevertheless. I plan on getting all the issues that make up this story arc as the graphic novel, "BATMAN: HAUNTED KNIGHT."
