Rate this book
In Manila, counterfeit cash has deadly consequences. And Joe Reacher is in the crosshairs.

When millions of dollars in sophisticated counterfeit bills starts flooding through Philippine banks, Treasury Agent Joe Reacher and his partner Ivy Harper uncover a money laundering operation that spans the Pacific.

But what begins as a financial crimes investigation quickly escalates into something deadlier.

As Ivy follows the money trail through Manila's casinos and shadow banks, Joe works the case from Washington—until three assassins come for him on a dark DC street.

Navigating a maze of corruption that stretches from Philippine police stations to international crime syndicates, Joe and Ivy discover the counterfeit money is only the beginning of a much larger conspiracy.

Time is running out, and the stakes are higher than either agent could have imagined.

A relentless international thriller where money laundering meets murder, where corrupt cops and criminal networks will kill to protect their secrets, and where two federal agents must risk everything to stop a deadly conspiracy.

Perfect for fans of Lee Child, Vince Flynn, and Daniel Silva.

Joe Reacher is back in Dark Money. This is another great adventure in the Reacherverse by Dan Ames. Although a large part of the story involves his co worker Ivy Harper, Joe is most definitely involved. There is also a great backstory. Someone is moving large amount of fake hundred dollar bills in the Phillipines and Ivy is sent to find the source, but suddenly everything turns bad really quick, not only in Manila but also back home where someone is trying to kill Joe. I must recommend this book and series even if you aren't a Reacher fan. I must thank Dan for sending me a copy of this book.

Dark Money - a review by Rosemary Kenny.

Jack Reacher's elder brother Joe's post-Army MP career took a different path, but Dark Money by Dan Ames shows he still has what it takes, even from behind a US Treasury desk.

Another exciting adventure in the Joe Reacher series, but this time it’s bit different. Joe’s researcher, Ivy Harper has tracked down a massive money laundering operation that appears to begin in the Philippines and has requested that she be allowed to investigate it further on her own as a field agent. In her detailed investigation, she has determined who she feels is trustworthy in the police and at the American Embassy and she will be safe since she will just be doing paperwork with her Philippine contacts. Of course, things immediately go awry, and Ivy is on the run to stay alive. In order to make sure Ivy comes home safely, and that this operation and the operators are completely destroyed, Joe finds that he must take control. Murderers, corrupt cops, and government secrets all stand in the way of Joe taking care of business. This is another thrilling Joe Reacher adventure and I am ready to jump into the next one.

Ivy Harper, Joe Reacher's partner, has discovered a counterfeiting operation in the Philippines. She presents the information to Joe and the Director, then makes the case for her going to Manila to continue the investigation. But it doesn't take long before Ivy and the police liaison trigger the attention of someone and they find themselves in danger.

Back in DC, Joe is reviewing the files Ivy left in the office and comes across some information that gives him pause. He starts to think there may be more to the case than a simple matter of someone counterfeiting money. And when he is attacked, his suspicions are all but confirmed.

The question becomes, can they solve the case before one or both of them are killed? There's plenty of action, danger, and a link to Joe's past. Great read.

I have not yet heard of the term dark money being applied to falsified money. Yes, dirty money when applied to all kinds of dirty deeds. Aptly so. Yet, dark money is quite apt once you learn why.
Treasury agent Ivy Harper discovered millions of false money being bandied about. But for what reason?
The Philipines is well known for daily criminality but not on such a scale as is happening here.
Recommended by Joe Reacher to investigate this in Manilla, Ivy hardly arrived before she got nabbed, her life at risk.
Author Dan Ames once again introduces the reader to a hectic action packed thriller where deathly surprises are the order of the day and one's fingers struggle to keep up with the fast paging.
Enjoy.

An action-packed international thriller with a well written storyline and an excellent cast of characters. Ivy Harper and Joe Reacher have to deal with plenty of corruption in this exciting adventure. Plenty of non-stop action in this highly recommended thriller. Great series that is very enjoyable. Will be looking forward to the next Joe Reacher thriller.

Intriguing

How did the author come upon such a concept? Seems very real, more than plausible. Hard to put down.

Intriguing.
