It’s all fun and games until you accidentally knock down a building…

Rumors are flying, and none of them are very flattering—or true. But ever since the kidnapping, it seems I’ve acquired a reputation. My neighbors want me evicted, my customers whisper behind their drinks, and I’m getting recruitment offers from mercenary guilds slipped under my door at all hours.

I don’t exactly have time to deal with them. I have a teenager going through puberty, a rogue elemental setting fire to my couch cushions, and now the Shapeshifter Court has summoned me to answer for my supposed crimes. And this time, Callum can’t save me. He’s bound to uphold the laws he helped create, so we have to face this if we’re to have any hope of a future.

But before I can confront my sordid criminal past, the conspiracy that destroyed the Symposium rears its head once more, and this time, they’re in deadly earnest. They’re determined to destabilize the peace between humans and Idrians, even if they have to destroy an entire city in the process.

They have numbers on their side—along with an utter disregard for life—but I’m not backing down. I’ve claimed my magic, my future, and this city, and I’m ready to fight for them.

The trial for my life is just going to have to wait.

Magic Claimed is the explosive conclusion of a thrilling urban fantasy trilogy featuring twisty magical plots, gorgeous dragon shifters, plenty of found family, and a smoldering, slow-burn romance. For fans of K.M. Shea, Shari L. Tapscott, and Heather G. Harris.

4.25 ⭐️ Recieved as an ARC, but all opinions are my own!

Such a sweet ending to this trilogy! I felt like this book was a giant game of chess. I had no idea how it would wrap up perfectly, but I trusted the process, as I know Kenley Davidson is big on HEA endings (which I love). Needless to say, she pulled it off, haha.

My favorite part of this series (and really all of KDs books) is the sweet, clean, slooooow burn romance. It’s always so genuine and wholesome. I LOVED Callum in this series. (And Draven in the other one… and basically every, single MMC Kenley has ever written).

I also particularly loved the found family aspect (I could never get tired of reading about Raine with her kids - SO precious), Ethan’s storyline in this book, and that it’s all interconnected. So you don’t just get this trilogy’s couple and storyline, but also a good sprinkling of the other trilogy’s (The Dragon of 23rd Street) couple: Kira and Draven. Not sure which trilogy I like more 🤔 There was also quite a bit of hinting at other relationships within the main family, so here’s to hoping we get more trilogies set in this world 🤞

The only reason it’s not 5 stars is that it’s so very cheesy at many points and feels a bit too unrealistic at times with the pristine HEA endings for *everyone* on the good side (especially super last minute ones due to miraculous things happening right at the perfect moment - never too early or too late), buuuuut I also feel like sometimes you just need that and when it’s cozy season and I’m bundled in a blanket with a steaming cup of hot chocolate, I’ll allow it. Haha

A satisfying conclusion.

I quite enjoyed this conclusion to the trilogy, though I don’t feel ready to say goodbye to the characters. I loved the found family elements and how they all fought and sacrificed for one another.

Fine ending to the series

I was happy with how every storyline was tied up. The first person narrative still isn’t my favourite, but the plot was fun enough to get past that. I hope we have another glimpse into the MCs’ HEA in a spinoff. ☺️

What a roller coaster of a book! I’m so grateful that I was lucky enough to get an ARC of this. I loved the first two books and had been eagerly awaiting this one and I can happily say it was worth the wait!

Several times in the book I wasn’t sure how everything would work out, but Ms Davidson did it again and I found myself satisfied with the ending, but hoping there will be more to come (perhaps Ryker?) Anyway, if you are on the fence about this book, jump off the fence and read it already! It’s worth the small bouts of anxiety to get to the lovely conclusion.

Fabulous ending

I was on the edge of my seat the entire time! I loved the beautiful foreshadowing and how all the pieces came together. I binged it in one night, couldn't put it down!

💋Kisses only
🤬mild swearing
⚠️Lots of fighting and death but by this point you should expect that so don't say you were not warned 🤣

Quite a captivating start to the book, it’s been a while since I read the first two books of the trilogy but thankfully Ms Davidson cleverly recaps the main points so I wasn’t too lost.

This book is filled with lots of action, especially with the previous dragon queen being brought in and actually playing a fairly substantial role in the book, considering I didn’t really recall her that much from the previous two books. Quite a bit of the book is also dedicated to Raine’s inner thoughts and also discussion of human vs Idrian relations. I have to admit I skipped over some of those since I really just wanted to find out what happened in the end.

Can’t believe what happened to Callum, at first I found it a bit incredulous but I guess the motivation for the attack on him plays into the bigger plot. Raine’s declaration of commitment to him no matter what happened to him was very touching indeed.

Still love the light hearted moments, my favourite ones are as follows
Regarding Tairen - “detaining a dragon must have felt a little like juggling a live nuke” - great description!

And when Raine hears a thud on the rooftop:
It wasn't a normal, healthy thud either, like you get when someone drops a shoe, or trips and falls on the floor— more the kind of thud you might expect when a very large toothy predator lands on the roof with the intent of eating people or setting things on fire.
And that wouldn't be a problem if I didn't know that all the friendly dragons in Oklahoma City either couldn't shift or were downstairs right now looking for a way to save Tairen.

Regarding one of the traitors:
"You should have let me eat her when I had the chance," (Kira) growled savagely.
Callum just ran a weary hand down his face and sighed. "Fine, yes. You were right. Next time I'll just hand you a fork."

Hahaha. Love it. Glad there was enough to end the series satisfactorily after the final battle was concluded. Now I feel a bit bereft because I’ve finished reading the book!

Magic Claimed, the third and final installment in Kenley Davidson’s Shifter of Sheridan Avenue series, is a powerful and deeply rewarding conclusion that will leave readers eager to explore more of the author’s work. For those just discovering Kenley, this trilogy is truly a treat, and I highly recommend starting with books one and two before diving into the final chapter. The groundwork laid in the earlier books is essential for fully appreciating the events and emotional depth of Magic Claimed.

Having had the privilege of receiving early copies of all three books, I fell in love with the story from the start. This final installment masterfully pulls together all the threads of Raine’s journey—her courage, her vulnerabilities, and the tremendous risks faced by both Idrians and humans. Throughout Magic Claimed, Kenley Davidson’s writing kept me on the edge of my seat, balancing suspense with hope and delivering a reading experience that was both thrilling and uplifting.

One of the highlights of this book is the heartfelt moments between the characters. Their connections and relationships made the world come alive, immersing me fully in the stakes and the emotional resonance of their struggles. As the fate of the city hung in the balance, I found myself completely absorbed, anxiously turning each page to discover whether unity and understanding could triumph over division and fear.

The character growth throughout the trilogy is immensely satisfying, and the seamless blend of magic and reality makes the story feel authentic and believable. Magic Claimed delivers everything a longtime fan could hope for, offering a fulfilling ending to an unforgettable series. Whether you have followed Raine’s journey from the beginning or are just discovering this captivating world, this book/series are must-read.

Kenley Davidson is an absolute master crafter of stories with startlingly good balance between action and romance, depth and coziness, light and dark. Magic Claimed shows just how well she can do that. With Raine and Callum, we have the most tender-hearted romance, but it's also real. Kenley doesn't skirt around the issues you'd expect them to face because of her past or his position; she leans into them and gives the reader even more reasons to love this precious couple. Seeing their love grow—and the way loving and being loved changed both of them—was one of my favorite parts of this series. Not to mention Raine's relationship with her kids. I may or may not have teared up a time or two watching her with Logan this time around. But, seriously, as wonderful as they are, the beauty of Davidson's characters is in the way friends become family, showing us how to love and make space for people who've had a rough go of it or are simply different than us. This seems to be what Kenley does for me with her books too. In a stressful season, this book allowed me to read a genre I love and feel coziness rather than feeling dragged into darkness. So, once again, I find myself at the end of one of her series, satisfied with where all my fictional friends ended up but wanting more from this story world. I can't wait to see what Kenley writes next, and truly hope we end up getting to see more of these amazing characters.

🐉 I received an early copy of this book (ARC), but the thoughts and fangirling expressed here are all my own and given because I love this book, not because I had to. Magic Claimed releases on November 14, 2025.

Magic Claimed is a satisfying conclusion to Raine’s adventures!

The book starts off with a bang (actually, with a fire alarm), and that pace continues all the way to the climax. Raine, Callum, her found family and their allies face the conspiracy initially revealed during the first book of the trilogy. Raine has finally embraced her stolen magic and become a stronger heroine as a result.

Kenley Davidson did a beautiful job creating twists and turns that eventually resolve into a happy ending that will leave you feeling content.

While Raine and Callum hadn’t fully settled into their relationship at the beginning of the book, I really appreciated that they trusted each other. There was no final misunderstanding or tiff between the two of them to mar their romance. I also enjoyed how Raine, Callum and their friends and family worked together to resolve the conflicts in the story. It made the story feel hopeful.

This is the third book in a series and should be read in order. The first two books are Magic Forsaken and Magic Betrayed, which I highly recommend. I recommend starting with Kenley Davidson’s Dragon of 23rd Street trilogy first for the most enjoyment. That series takes place prior to The Shifter of Sheridan Avenue series and some characters are in both series.

Raine Kendrick is trying to fight for a better future with Callum and her family. But Blake and his followers have decided to continue where the queen left off with her magical artifacts. Only Blake has been planning to expose his power to the world. While Raine is trying to find out where and when he will strike next, Blake has been one step ahead. Raine must figure out how to save both the humans and Idrians from Blake's plans before a war ensues that neither side wins.

Raine Kendrick's family and friends scramble to rally enough reinforcements to protect this city they all call home. But can they prevent a war that is raging with restless humans and infighting of the Idrians' courts?

I loved each of these books in this series! I loved the development of Raine as she goes from scared and insecure to brave and self-confident defender. I also love that there are no sex scenes and only mentions people using curse words.

If you haven't already, I would urge you to read Book 1 and 2 in this series before reading this book. It is a chain of events that builds into this story.
Not needed to understand this book series, but I loved all the characters that I first fell in love with The Dragon of 23rd Street series which is a little of a prequel to this series.

A sweet, satisfying conclusion for our ever growing found family.

Magic Claimed picks up about a week after the events of Magic Betrayed. While Raine’s Idrian status continues to hang over much of the book, the focus is instead on a mystery surrounding missing human children. Our extended cast of characters get their time to shine, particularly Faris, Logan and Ethan, with multiple surprise guest appearances from the Dragon of 23rd Street series. Ethan’s magical growth was probably my favorite subplot. The romance was not as prominent as in earlier installments, but Raine and Callum get their HEA.

For me, this series was about Raine finding and building her own family more than anything else, and the conclusion of this trilogy felt very satisfying. With so many characters in this world, maybe not all had equal screen time, but I will wait for their reappearance the next time the author chooses to step into this world. I find Davidson’s works to be consistently reliable reads, and this novel delivered exactly what I was expecting. Recommended for fans of Davidson’s earlier works or readers looking for a clean urban fantasy like K.M. Shea’s Magiford books. 4.5 stars, rounded up.

Thank you to the author for the eARC. All opinions are my own.

I loved how much Raine finally stepped outside of her fear, and takes charge in a way that she hasn't done/been able to do in the previous books. Honestly, I am 1000% here for her relationship with Callum. He's far more swoon-worthy than I ever have him credit for!

I also really liked how everything kind of came full circle, and how the ending played out. Plus, seeing Tairen, Callum's mom, outside of her "Queen of The Dragons" role, I ended up liking her so much more.

And the plot twists!! I figured out a couple of them. But the ones I hadn't--YES! I was HUGE fan of those ones!

My only disappointment was that we never get to see Kira and Draven's wedding. But! I loved the surprise characters that dropped in, the other characters that surprised the crap out of me, and the twists that brought it all together nicely.

I truly did enjoy Raine's epic finale, it tied the loose ends up pretty nicely. I am wondering if we'll get to see more of a certain Head of Idriaian Affairs Officer in possible future books. Or if Ryker will get a starring role in any possible future books. Girl can dream!

"I love you. Whatever happens after this, that fact is the first and the last thing I need to know. Everything else comes second."

The love story between Raine and Callum is epic and the way they fight for and protect each other is everything.

I love the beauty from ashes theme that is woven throughout this series. Many of the characters have suffered atrocities in their past that could have broken them (and in some cases did), but most chose to fight in order to prevent those things happening to anyone else.

"Now all we had to do was survive, unravel Blake's plotting, find an antidote, prevent a war, and come home safely."

The found family aspect is so well written. The ties that bind these characters together and the strength they draw from those ties is beautiful. The idea of fighting with every breath for those you hold most dear is woven throughout this series.

There is such an eclectic and diverse cast of characters in this series and they each bring something unique to the storyline.

I have loved this series and am sad to see it end. I hope there will be more books set in this world. I would love to see Rath and Ryker both get their own books/series!

Reading the final installment was a great treat with a good amount of suspense.
I particularly enjoyed seeing Raine navigate her role as a motherly figure to the other victims—these parts added a lot of heart to the story. I feel like there was more suspense than slow-burn romance, as the relationship between her and Callum has already been established. That’s not to say there isn’t any further movement, but not anything surprising based on what the series already set up for those characters. The villains prove menacing, and it is entertaining to experience the story unfold.
Although this series ended, we feel like these characters are still living their lives and figuring out how to face the various challenges they will encounter. I wish the book was longer, as I would have enjoyed more time with these characters. I wouldn’t be opposed to a short collection to catch up on some folks (most especially a certain wedding…or two) or another spinoff in the world. Either way, this book (and series) were a fun way to spend my time. Highly recommend.

Things are not going well for Raine, she’s getting requests from mercenary companies, the attempt to quiet Ethan’s powers isn’t working – he set fire to the couch in his sleep, that means her neighbours want her out. The Shifter council wants her to appear to answer for her supposed crimes. And kids are disappearing.
And if that is not enough, Callum has been poisoned.
Everything leads back to Blake; he wants to recreate the experiments that the previous elven queen did to siphon magic and create magical artifacts that can give humans powers.
The fight to stop Blake is difficult, no one knows where he is but they know he has something to do with the missing kids. All he needs is Kes.
This book has action, magic, the great characters, a slow romance (getting stronger as it goes along, surprises, suspense and humour.
This is a great book and I’m unhappy that there are no more right now.
I would definitely recommend this.

Book 3 in The Shifter of Sheridan Avenue series

Oh my goodness! What an epic conclusion to this series! I've loved this series from book 1; from my love of dragons to the overall storyline which has held me captive, Sheridan Avenue Shifter has stolen my heart. It's filled with found family, chosen family, fierce family devotion, action, trust, undying love, and so much more. It features humans, not-quite humans, dragons, elementals, shifters, fae, and other supernaturals all set within a no-spice fantasy romance. Not only does it host a wonderful set of main characters, but it also has some pretty lovable side characters. I enjoyed the magical aspect of the book and look forward to doing a complete series re-read to enjoy it all over again.

How do I even begin to explain the rollercoaster of emotions this book put me through? One minute I was holding my breath, the next I was grinning like an idiot, and then suddenly I was heartbroken all over again. There’s so much action, heartache, and so many twists that I honestly never knew what to feel next.

I absolutely love Callum and Raine together…their chemistry, their banter, their quiet moments. I just wish there was more of them. More of their story. More of their life. I didn’t want to leave their world when I turned the last page.

I’ll admit, there were a few times I was this close to skipping ahead to make sure everything turned out okay. But I resisted, stayed strong, and I’m so glad I did. The journey was completely worth it. And yes, I’m happy to say the ending left me smiling and sad it was over.

A great ending to Raine & Callum's trilogy.

I love how far Raine has come in her journey of learning to trust and rely on her friends and found family and this plays out beautifully in how they all have to work together to defeat Blake.

I enjoyed the involvement of Callum's mother, the former dragon Queen in the story and I particularly enjoyed her meeting with Raine.

I would have liked to see more of Callum and Raine working together now that they are fully committed to each other so the certain events that had them apart for the first half of the book weren't my favourite.

The secondary characters are great - if we can even call them that given how real they feel and how integral to the story they are. I always love Kira (poor Kira, just when is that wedding going to happen) and I want more of Ethan. Ex- dragon Queen was a scene stealer and Anjelica is awesome. On another note while I don't object to the pairing of Shane & Kez, for me it seemed to come out of left field. I was actually hoping for a Kez & Rath book at some point so that one surprised me.

I received an ARC but all views expressed are my own.

Excellent finish

This is the final book in the Shifter of Sheridan Ave series, and Kenley definitely finishes this series on a bang!

She picks up right where book 2 left off, and Raine is doing her best to keep her little family safe with the unrest between the supernaturals and humans. But teens are going missing, and supers are being blamed.

So much happens rather quickly in this book, and I was biting my nails to see how Kenley would wrap everything up. This book was fast paced, with lots of action, lots of conflict, and so much excellent character development!

I loved the growth we see in Raine and Callum’s relationship, even with everything going on (no spoilers here). Also seeing the development of some side characters was so amazing! Overall this was an excellent conclusion to this series!

I have absolutely loved this series! The fantasy world Kenley Davidson has created is so much fun to get lost in. Raine is such a spunky and likeable heroine. I really appreciate that she has been through so much, but is determined to make life better for everyone around her, even though she deserves that so much for herself too. Callum is strong and protective, but still caring and not overbearing. I love their relationship, and how they complement each other. The action was nonstop in this book, and I kept checking for the completion amount on Kindle, not wanting this book to end. The side characters are also so well written and so interesting. This was such a satisfying conclusion to this trilogy, and I sincerely hope more is coming from this world! I was given an advance copy of the book, but all opinions are my own.

I was so incredibly lucky to receive an advanced copy of this book, and get an early look into the finale of Raine and Callum's story.

As per usual, Kenley did not disappoint. There was so much going on in this book, and she even added new trials to this final installment that were effectively and satisfactorily all tied up.

I'd very much like a Kes and Shane book, as well as one all about Ethan. He was the most intriguing character for me, and I love how his arc was set up and resolved.

All our favourite characters made appearances and our main couple got their promised HEA, but they certainly had to fight for it. The Shifters of Sheridan Avenue is a superb addition to the Dragon of Sheridan Avenue storyline and I hope there are more stories to tell in this world.

Dragons & Other Idrians and Humans & Stolen Magic—5 stars.
There is lots of action, from beginning to end. Raine and Callum and friends have many challenges & mysteries to overcome, but they work together as a “family”, not just friends, to overcome them. Ethan finds his purpose and place in society, Logan gets his wish to help Raine more with her adventures, and some couples find love. I love Raine’s snarky and witty banter, as well as her desire to help and keep everyone safe. Faris may be the glue which holds the Shadow Court together, but Raine is the glue which holds her family and friends together. This was a very busy book with a satisfying conclusion. Be prepared to stay up late reading. I received an ARC copy from the author and am very pleased to leave a review.

It’s over - already?

Although the fate and demise of Idria was never explained, throughout the 3 books you learn of despair and rediscovery by a displaced people. The love that binds family and individuals is the basis for trust and loyalty throughout the series. The relatively unexplored concept of magic stolen being wielded by humans is to me a welcome new approach of learning to accept minorities as different not wrong! A touching and strong plot leads through romance, destruction, rebuilding and eventual new beginnings in a society long entrenched in the fear and resistance to those labeled as outsiders. Nicely done! I wish there were more stories after this trilogy about the Idrians on earth and about Callum and “the Shifter of Sheridan Avenue,

This was the perfect ending to the trilogy! I loved seeing the conclusion to Raine and Callum's story and I loved how Logan and Ethan both found ways to be useful and became a more integral part to the story. The plot and politics included were really intriguing and kept me on the edge of my seat! This finale did not disappoint and the relationships, characters, and emotions were so real and perfect! I loved seeing Faris more, and there was quite a lot of fun humour in the book as well. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who's looking for clean urban fantasy!

I received an ARC from the author. All opinions are my own.

What happened to Declan?

This series- a continuation in the world of Shifters of 23rd avenue - was pretty good! I had it marked on my calendar and enjoyed the books over the course of 2 days. The characters were interesting and the found Family great.
However, I’m curious as to what happened to the second brother of the MMC - Declan! He was an interesting part of the story in the first book, and then he just … completely disappeared in book 2 and 3. When the whole family collects at one point, no one even notices he’s gone. The greatest unanswered question of the series … where did he go?

This is a perfect and satisfying ending to the series. It has fun humour, heart-felt found family, sweet romance, edge of your seat action, and plenty of twists and turns to keep you guessing how it will all end. The conclusion is satifying and perfectly wraps up Raine and Callum's story, but leaves plenty of scope for more stories in this 'world' in future series that will showcase more of the supporting characters from this and the Dragon of 23rd Street series in stories of their own.

I received an ARC and voluntarily leave an nonest review.

I hope there's more in this world

I would like this to please become an ever expanding universe like Magiford please. Especially since KM Shea seems to be out for the count. I just loved both these series so freaking much. So much love and forgiveness and passion and hope. However, I do have to quibble that I find it extremely unrealistic that all fifty states would ever pass the same type of law nowadays. Not when people live in different universes, and I'm not just talking about magic...

Enjoyed the series. Clean, fast paced, and connected all the books together. There were a couple times I forgot about Raines background and remembered why she is the way she is. :)

Content:
Only kissing, fighting and war, magic, one curse word

Fave quotes:
““Nothing has changed,” he said, each word quiet but firm. “I’m not rethinking or second-guessing. No matter how long we’re apart, no matter how hard we have to fight. You’re worth it, and I’m not giving up.”

Because she’s a runner.
““You can’t get rid of me that easily.” “If you ran, I’d find you.”

Loved this final book in the trilogy. Things really hit the fan in this book, with not only Kes in danger, but also Callum and all the others who have tied their wagon to Raine and her family. Raine and Callum are finally open to their feeling towards each other, but will they survive the machinations of a seriously twisted madman who wants Kes for his own purposes. Oh, and Callum's mum pops over to take the measure of the lady in her son's life... Raine's not sure which is worse.

Loved this. Will definitely be added to my reread list.
