I don't know how I first stumbled across this book, but it is a gem. An unpolished gem, but still a gem. There are space battles and lions in spaceships and clones and sex and long lost relatives and kidnappings and magical fate shit and dragons and psychic powers and mad scientists and uninhabited planets and elves and Jesus it has everything. Unfortunately, there is no more. The author clearly intended a sequel or two, but she passed away just a few months after self-publishing her first book.

Now, considering how few people have bothered to rate or review this book, it's curious that there are two slightly different stories floating around about this book...

The first being that the author was ill and self-published instead of sending her final draft to the editor so that she could hopefully earn some money to pay for medical bills - the book didn't sell quickly enough and she ended up passing away because she couldn't afford medical treatment.

The second story is that the author was incapacitated with her illness and her family self-published her novel to steal the proceeds and she happened to die only a few months later. Though that might have just been drunken cynicism because they also theorized the family could have killed her because they thought she was writing naughty things.

Regardless, the editing is not great. I personally believe the story is great. I want to recommend it, but I also don't because if you hate it, then what does that say about the future of our relationship?

It is 6am and I stayed up all night reading this book for the 3rd time and another 20 minutes typing this shit out and I am just conscious enough to know that this is one of the most nonsensical reviews I've ever written but not sconscious enough to fix it.

This book was given to me for my honest review.

This book is a capturing by far. Though it is not a book that this reviewer would read over and over again it may be that book just for you.

Dreams are they for real or are they just what are subconscious thinks they should be? Can dreams become our reality? Can we only hope of what is to come when we close our eyes and see that flash of what has yet to be? This book will answer these questions.

Can you find love in all the wrong places or in the strangest of coincidences? Can a man give you butterflies in your stomach when you are suppose to feel and objectivity to the circumstances at hand? And what becomes of all this? Can you in your own reality predict what the future lies? For these characters in this read I bet your answers will be answered.

This is a paranormal meets sci-fi adventure with a bunch of twists and turns that one will love to read about. Just when you think that something is about to happen this author puts a spin on it with leading you into another direction totally. She offers a lot of different scenarios in this book.

So come take this journey with these characters and find out what dreams are made of. Don’t worry about the big bad monsters they only come out to play when you least expect it. Just laugh a bit or shed a tear or two and they will leave you be if not for only a split second they are afraid but they never show the fear or do they?

To the author I wish I could say more about this book. I wish I could give it the 5 stars but in all reality I can’t so this is my honest review.

Happy Reading

This is a powerful love. That touches the heart, and opens the eyes to a whole new world. To see what Blue and Jayden go threw for love will make you relies that true love is worth fighting for, and never giving up on. Yes it takes place in outer space ,but Blue Jayden and the rest of the charters are so realistic. You are able to imagine this heartwarming story of a love so powerful, nothing in the universe can brake it apart. this book is a pure joy to read. I have never like anything syfi in my life, but this story drew me in and showed me a that even a love in outer space can still touch your heart. It was nothing like i believed syfi was and that amazed me. I now look forward to reading more from this awesome new author and Blue and Jaydens love has me wanting more from them. I look forward to joining them on this amazing journey by reading more from Billie Jo Hanlin she has hocked me and now i can not wait to read more syfi romances like hers all tho i believe Blue and Jaydens story is a one of a kind must read

Absolutely Brilliant!!
Billie Hanlin has an astute eye for detail and creates a fantasy world like no other...this book is absolutely brilliant! It will snatch your attention and attach your emotions to the characters while your heart races to keep turning the pages! It is fast paced and had me sitting on the edge of my seat and biting my nails...when I wasn't laughing, crying or falling in love with one of the characters. It grabbed me right from the beginning and the subject matter is utterly compelling. The slam bang finale left me gasping and wanting more! It is difficult to believe this is this author's first book. She is definitely worth keeping an eye on. The next book can't come too soon!! Bravo Billie Hanlin!

She has brought Sci Fi together with romance and made it blend nicely. Blue was born on a different world she was kidnapped as a child her family thinking her dead. She was her world only hope to keep from dying. Taken to Earth and experimented on she is rescued 20 years later by her brother and his crew. The hope of her world depends on her. Will she save it and the ones she loves? What about the man she has bonded with? Will she save him too? A must read to find out!

This book captured my attention from chapter one on. Ms. Hanlin spun a story that was so imaginative that it left me wanting more. I love the character Blue and thought she was an exemplary person who is strong and good to her very core. I love books that keep me guessing and this book did not leave me disappointed. I look forward to reading the next book that comes out and I would recommend this series to my friends.

What a good book. I was really leery to read another new author as I've been sorely disappointed way too often lately. Ms Hanlin has delivered however. This book has so much going for it. Good solid concept with really well done character interactions and dialog. I'm really looking forward to the next offering from this author. If you are looking for a scifi space opera solid read with a strong H/h through out definitely give this book a go. You won't be disappointed.

I loved the opening scene of this book!
I could vision myself there. This Author
has a way with detail. You will fall in love
with her characters. This book was entertaining
and kept me on the edge of my seat.

I don't give away spoilers. There is no way to
sum everything that happens up in a couple of paragraphs
to tell how good this book really is! I can't wait
until the next book comes out!

This book had it all: great characters with amazing powers, crazy attitude and strong personalities, great story full of adventure, new worlds and suspense, very bad and very guys, a lot of humor, powerful love and a sweet tiger to go with it.
I couldn't stop reading this book and wish it hadn't stopped!! Can't wait for the next installment.

Chrystal Bones was an entertaining read with a little of everything. The story is a great sci-fi that will grab your interest and keep you up all night reading to find out what happens. The ending seemed a little disjointed with the time gap but otherwise well thought out. Look forward to the next book in series.

Chrystal Bones by Billie Jo Hanlin is a magnificent scifi adventure like no other for this first time author has managed to infuse this tired genre with a fresh lease of gusto. Her characters are so well fleshed out, the reader can immediately identify with them, the descriptions are rich with texture without getting overblown and the story is quite simply astounding.
The story kicks off with a woman using her special abilities to track down and save kidnapper children. here the reader gets to know Blue at her toughest but beneath the surface there dwells something entirely different, something that will make the reader leap from their comfort zone.
Then a life-altering event of such magnitude affects Blue way beyond her wildest imaginations. Blue is sent on a dangerous quest full of adventure, mystery and finally romance with the enigmatic Jayden, all of which will mold her into the Chrystal Woman.
So come and join Blue and Jayden on their journey of love, battles and a destiny that will leave the reader gasping for breath.
A must read scifi novel and very highly recommended.

Blue is my kind of heroine! Spunky, independent, sarcastic and down-to-earth even if earth is space in this case.

Apart from the usage of effect where affect should be, sometime past tense where present tense should be i.e thoughts, gasses instead of gases homophones such as praying in sentences that call for preying, pours where pores should be and brake where break should be, the overall story was enjoyable and I await with bated breath the second installation of this story.

Billie Jo Hanlin has proven an attention grabbing author in my estimation and she can only get better from here.

This one is little hard for me to rate. The world-building is definitely worth four stars but the story-telling was a little iffy at times. Maybe somewhat unpolished. And some editing is order.

It isn't particularly steamy and the romance portion of the story takes a back seat to the politics and intrigue. I won't turn anyone away though. It's worth the read.
