She thought Wonderland was just a dream. Now it’s her destiny.
Alice left Wonderland behind years ago—or so she believed. A tumble off a cliff during a hike brings her back to the place she once visited in her childhood dreams. But this Wonderland is no longer whimsical and strange. It's darker.Wilder. And it’s been waiting for her.
In Wonderland, Dreamers either stop dreaming… or they return for good.
But Alice isn’t a little girl anymore. She’s presented now—an Omega in a world where Omegas are rare, treasured, and fiercely desired. Surrounded by Alphas and Betas, she quickly realizes she’s more than a visitor.
She’s a prize.
A gift.
And she’s far from forgotten. The Hatter protects her like a father, watching her back while others circle closer.
Seth, the enigmatic King of Spades, rules with ice in his veins—but his eyes burn for her.
Dee and Vee, the mischievous forest guardians, speak in riddles and kiss like they mean it.
Chi, the ever-smirking Cheshire Cat, hides secrets behind every grin—and seems to know her better than she knows herself.
And Hart, the rebellious son of the Queen of Hearts, tempts her with danger and devotion alike.
As suitors from across Wonderland vie for her attention, Alice must navigate a courtship unlike any she’s known. The deeper she falls into this strange, seductive world, the more impossible it becomes to choose just one.
But maybe… she won’t have to.
In a land ruled by instincts, can she bring together the men who’ve claimed her heart—and make them a pack of her own?
Aspen Winters is from Bettendorf, Iowa. She has a slight obsession with stingrays and anything that has to do with chocolate and wine. On the days she isn’t working, she is either typing or is letting her artistic side out by painting or doing any other art project she has set her mind too. She has many books planned out and can’t wait to share them.
Maybe I'm dumb (or not high enough) but I couldn't follow this to save my life. I can't imagine wanting to bang, let alone bond, a single one of these bitches.
This was a very interesting retelling of Alice and wonderland. The main character is an omega who never felt like she belonged anywhere. One day she ends up in Wonderland and her world changes. The mmcs are all different and dont completely get along. They all satisfy a need in her that is unique to each of them. I love The Cheshire car and the Hatter. They are both such fun characters. The ending is painful and I can't wait for the next book to see the Red Queen get what she deserves.
Not your regular omegaverse. Super slow burn. Romance doesn’t even begin to happen till 58%, and even then it’s very minimal. No real mention of scents and no mention of bite mark mate bonds.
MFMMMM.
A very interesting take on Alice in Wonderland. Needed some more editing. In the beginning Alice speaks to both her parents, then halfway through she mentions her mother’s funeral 😂. A lot of repetitive mentions. Multi first POV, but mainly Alice. Very long winded, I started skimming.
Alice: (blonde/omega/fmc) Lost soul. Wants love not a forced pack. Cheshire/Chi: (magenta-pink hair/alpha/mmc) Mischievous. Smart aleck. King of Spades/Seth: (raven haired with silver tips/alpha/mmc) Thoughtful. Enigmatic. Dee: (white haired/ mmc) Tweedle twin. Fantasist. Vee: (white haired/mmc) Tweedle twin. Studious and analytical. Heart: (red head/alpha/mmc) Son of the Queen of Hearts. Emotional.
Knot My Wonderland: A Fairytale Omegaverse Romance by Aspen Winters is an interesting omegaverse retelling of Alice and Wonderland. Alice never.felt.like she fit in until one day she finds herself pulled back into the Wonderland of her childhood but this time she's grown up and an omega. However both Alice and Wonderland have changed. Alice is expected to save Wonderland. With the help of others can she do it? I really enjoyed this take on a favorite of mine. Definitely a completely new approach to wonderland and I loved it! If you enjoy omegaverses and retelling this is a must read!
Alice slips and falls back into Wonderland. She had been told that wonderland was just in her imagination, that she had made it up in her mind…it was a child’s fairytale. But, while hiking she falls and finds herself back in the world of imagination and dreams. Varik aka, the Mad Hatter finds her, rescues her and welcomes her back to wonderland. She is a lost DREAMER a child of wonderland that was always meant to return to her rightful home. Now that she’s back the pathway is closed and Alice must learn to live and survive in a world that she only remembers from dreams. She is also an omega. And while on earth an omega is rare and wanted, in wonderland an omega is a prize worth dying for. The Mad Hatter knows that every alpha and beta out there will have sensed Alice’s return to wonderland and will be “hunting” her. He tells her he is like a father figure to her, and that he’ll help her navigate her new reality. The Cheshire Cat, Chi, is next. He’s an alpha and friend of the Mad Hatter…he is also a somewhat “incorporeal” being. But when Alice touches him he becomes more REAL, and it’s immediately obvious that he is one of five bonds that Alice must make to save wonderland. You see the Red Queen has systematically been destroying wonderland for decades. The other queens and kings aren’t great either, but the red queen is the worst, the most violent and unstable. She is willing to kill anyone and everything in her goal for ultimate power and dominion over wonderland. But wonderland has been waiting for Alice, a dreamer who carries the resonance of the first Queen, the only Queen who formed a partnership with the magic of wonderland, and didn’t try to control and dominate it. Alice is the eighth and potentially the last dreamer to come to wonderland, the dreamer that will balance and restore wonderland.
Alice begins working on her magic and resonance with Wonderland under the supervision of Chi and Varik, and soon Varik calls the Tweedles, Vee and Dee in to help secure allies in their fight against the Red Queen. The Tweedles are twins and guardians of the pathways. They can see, decipher and understand possibilities, and they can help create portals of magic aka pathways for “travelers.” They are great allies because they can not only help Alice figure out possibilities, but can help her and her friends escape in times of crisis. Varik enlists their help, along with Hart, the red queens exiled son and resistance fighter who has been waging war against his mother’s tyranny, and Seth, the king of spades who is the master of shadows and illusion. Seth is the “unknown” variable, he has been carefully moving “pieces” on the “chessboard” since he was a right hand man for the first queen. He can see possibilities as well, and has lived in the “void” the shadows for so long that he sees and knows everything. He is desperate for Alice, but everyone, including himself, believe that bonding with him could cause Alice irreparable harm, that she could fall into the void so completely she would never find her way out. After a particularly difficult battle the group, led by Alice and directed by the Mad Hatter retreat to plan and regroup in the Forgotten Lands, at a castle that was created by the first Queen. Alice has bonded with Chi, and then bonds with Hart. She discovers that the Tweedles are also two of her necessary bonds, and that Seth would be the fifth necessary bond. She slowly gets to know the Tweedles, but her guys are less than enthusiastic about the possibility of her bonding with Seth, the king of spades because of what his bonding to Alice could mean to her, and the “pattern of possibility.” The Red Queen is ruthless in pursuing them, and is killing everyone in the neutral zones in an attempt to draw Alice out. Alice remains steadfast in her castle, planning. But when the group discovers traces of blood magic resonance they know they have spies in their midst. Verik invents a few brilliant devices that can detect blood magic resonance in order to weed out the rotten fruit in their batch. And when they test the devices on the people in the castle, namely Hart’s soldiers and people, one of Harts trusted soldiers is discovered as working for the red queen. He stabs Hart, and manages to portal Alice to the Red Queen’s domain. The first book ends with Alice in the evil Red Queen’s clutches, and the Red Queen telling her how she’s going to steal Alice’s magic, and break Alice down until she’s nothing but a mindless, obedient omega pawn.
**THOUGHTS/OPINIONS**
This was such a great reimagining of Alice in Wonderland. It was a refreshing take on the story with creative and new ideas and tropes added in. The Omega and Alpha elements were awesome, and so much fun. It was really wonderful to see the omegaverse trope utilized in such a creative new manner. I loved the idea of Alice having five harmonizing bonds, and the fact that each was a wonderland character wrapped up in an Alpha package was so fun, exciting and exploratory. Aspen Winters writes a powerful and dynamic story using well known Alice in Wonderland elements and adding in new ideas and plot devices of her own. The cliffhanger at the end of book one is a doozy and has me chomping at the bit for book two. How I’m going to have to wait half a month to get book two (knowing there are 3 more books planned) is going to drive me outta my skull (lol) but this is all great indication of a truly marvelous story teller and fabulous series. If book one is any indication, then this entire series will be positively WONDERFUL!!
**DISCLAIMER**
This is a really low steam book. I’m not certain if the series will “grow” in steam and spice factor. But the first book has little to no spice. Even when Alice bonds with her two alphas it is not spicy. Just giving you all a heads up so you know what to expect…or in this case, not expect, lol.
I just couldn't read any further. I kept waiting for it to get good and instead it just kept getting worse and worse.
Desperately needed an editor. ...my mother's funeral, a moment I hadn't thought about in years. Maybe because your mother is alive and well. You just spoke to her a few days ago, remember? Hey, maybe you don't remember because it is not like you have given any of the people you left behind a moment's thought since you got here.
Storytelling was terribly over-written (ie Without the hat, he looked both younger and older at the same time—more human, yet somehow more wild.), repetitive (ie patterns beneath my skin was repeated over 160 times, sometimes three times on the same page) and mainly told, as opposed to shown, typically during conversations filled with contrivance, inconsistencies and enough pointless word-vomit to beat out Stephen King.
Female lead was an immature, self-involved twit. During the three days showing her in her ordinary life, she demonstrated zero appreciation for her parent's care and concern or the privilege of attending a place of higher education and while relying heavily on her only friend for emotional support and validation, never extended the same courtesy in return. In fact, she never evidenced any interest in her friend as a person in her own right.
Upon entering Wonderland, the female lead was given great powers for no apparent reason which she did little to learn about or develop and failed to use purposefully or intelligently. For instance, she knew her parents and friend would be frantically searching for her back in her own world but does not ask about or look for a way to use this great power to contact them or at least send a message saying she is safe. Heck, the twit had a sentient ward in her magical arsenal but she didn't even use it to protect her and her people at the second location.
The male leads started out unique and interesting. There was a creative, clever explanation for Cheshire fading in and out of existence, the take on the 'Tweedle twins' was especially novel and imaginative, and the King of Spades was fascinating. Unfortunately, they all ended up being the same lonely, needy sad-sack at their core. The relationship building was insta-love and there was no smut.
Oh, how we enjoyed the story of Alice in Wonderland when we are young, the fantasy, the white rabbit and all the other parts of the story like the cookies eat me to grow small and eat me to grow big. Then one day we are expected to put away those thoughts and grow up and think adult thoughts. Alice in college always felt like she did not fit and even though she had presented as an omega, she knew picking an alpha and belong to a pack was the way she was supposed to go, she just felt like she was waiting for something more, or wanting something different. While taking a hike one day Alice slips and finds herself back in Wonderland, but what a difference! Wonderland while having some similar things has changed. Like the real world there was chaos and fighting. Wonderland was fragmented in to you and those people. Alice is supposed to help fix it, how does a human and a young women do that? Who do you trust? When you are just learning to trust yourself? Alice with the help of the Mad Hatter, Cheshire, and others show her how her signature is changing. The Red Queen is out to take over all of wonderland can Alice fight her, and have faith, trust and accept the changes that are happening? What of the King of Spades is he going to help or as a strategist always using things as his pawns to his own ends and what is he wanting? The authors thought provoking use of wonderland and its characters to create a whole new concept is amazing. I can’t wait for the next book to see how the fight against the Red Queen goes and if Alice and the 5 elements she needs to bond with to anchor her and help save Wonderland, land, air, earth, water, and void can merge harmonious. The Red Queen did she just win as she has just captured Alice?
Knot My Wonderland Part One is an omegaverse retelling of the classic Alice in Wonderland. I've read several Alice retellings, and this is a tie with my favorite. I cannot put into words how much I loved this book, but I'll try.
There are a lot of books out there that are omegaverse forward, and I love those, but I also enjoy a good plot. I am extremely happy that Aspen Winter put the Alice story first and the omegaverse aspects second. There's still alpha, omegas, scents, and bonds, but the plot was the most important thing. I still got to enjoy the beauty and chaotic whimsy of Wonderland. The magic was excellent. I loved how detailed and unique it was. Plus, Aspen wrote about it in a way that made sense but stayed true to the world.
Of course, this is the adult version of the story. Alice is trying to discover who the Wonderland version of her is while navigating a political minefield, dealing with prophecies, and learning about magic. The characters were awesome. I liked Alice; she fits in Wonderland in a way she didn't on Earth. I enjoyed that Alice was level-headed. She quickly adapted but was still questioning things. As for the guys, I loved all of them, although I am slightly disappointed that Hatter and Caterpillar aren't part of the harem, especially Hatter. I know he's a father figure, but I was more than willing to call him "Daddy." Haha.
Congrats to Aspen. Alice in Wonderland is a challenging story to adapt, and she's done it perfectly. Knot My Wonderland Part One was superb. Everything was so incredibly descriptive I couldn't help but be completely immersed in the story. I'm so excited for the conclusion of this duet; it has now become one of my most anticipated books of this year.
I finished this book and just sat there for a minute, completely useless, trying to figure out how to come back to reality. Wonderland isn’t cute here. It’s not whimsical. It’s wild and strange and a little terrifying, but also kind of intoxicating in a way that crept up on me.
Alice doesn’t just fall back into this world. She gets claimed by it. And not in the usual swoony romance way. The forest wants her. The air shifts around her. And every character seems to recognize something in her before she even understands it herself.
I loved the Hatter. He’s messy and haunted and somehow still feels like safety. Then there’s Seth, who is cold in that controlled, calculating way that makes you want to know what he looks like when he finally cracks. Dee and Vee are chaotic little scene stealers and Chi is exactly the kind of grinning trouble I am weak for. But Hart? Hart was the one I didn’t expect to like so much. He’s a little reckless, a little broken, and completely sincere in a way that felt like a punch to the chest.
The whole thing reads like a fairytale you accidentally wandered into and now can’t leave because part of you doesn’t want to. It’s got magic and danger and slow-building tension that feels more emotional than physical. I kept rereading paragraphs just because of how beautifully they were written.
Preface: This review is my opinion only. Yours may be different. Neither is wrong and that's ok.
This is the first book by Aspen Winters that I have read, though it is not her first Omegaverse book, it is the first in the Wonderland world.
It is an Omegaverse Reverse Harem storyline, with a FMC and several MMCs. There are no swords crossing in this book.
Overall I enjoyed the book, the main male characters were all well written and each had their own individual character traits. It was also interesting to see a different take on well known Alice In Wonderland characters, as well as an interesting view on the history of Wonderland.
The spice was low indeed, especially for an Omegaverse book, possibly half a chilli out of 5.
It does end with a cliffhanger, but it's good and I cannot wait for book 2.
The only downsides, and it loses half a star for each: 1) Repetition of conversations - things that were said in a conversation not two pages previously are repeated almost verbatim. 2) There is a lot going on, lots of characters and it felt a tad rushed trying to get every character 'seen' by the reader and FMC.
Overall though, it does get 4 stars as it is a good story and I do recommend it.
Alice returns to Wonderland where she visited as a child. The only problem is, it is rare for Dreamers to return a second time and if they do they then belong to Wonderland. Wonderland does not let its Dreamers go a second time. There is also a big problem, the land is dying. And the only person that has the potential to save it? Yes it's Alice. But she is going to need the help of a whole host of characters to do so, whilst also avoiding the wicked Queen of Hearts.
This is an Alice In Wonderland retelling with an Omegaverse twist. To be truthful although I read Alice In Wonderland as a child it is so long ago that I barely remember it! But the names remain embedded in my memory and I love that all the old Characters are here, The Hatter, The Cheshire Cat, The Tweedles. It is very slow burn and low spice, there has barely been a kiss so far. As this is the first time I have read a book by this author I don't know what her style of writing is,so whether it will heat up or keep the heat down low in book 2 remains to be seen. Whichever it is, I am here for it as the story has really grabbed me and that cliffhanger has just left me wanting more. Can we have the second part now please?
I absolutely fell in love with this story. We have Alice who comes back to Wonderland and all is not as we thought it used to be. The story is unique and absolutely amazing. It drew me in from the beginning. Characters have changed and evolved as does most things in Wonderland. We have Alice learning what has happened in Wonderland since she was last there. Changes are occurring rapidly and this only draws you deeper in the story. I love ja good retelling of one of the Fairy Tales and Alice In Wonderland is one that is not often told. That in itself makes it unique. I love the Alpha and Omega aspect of the story as it gives a beautiful nudge in to a different direction. We have conflict, betrayals, new friendships and reacquainted ones as well, magic and unique characters that all lead to a story that will have you on the edge of your seat unable to put it down. You absolutely have to find out what happens and how it is going to end. Oh then we get to the end of book 1 and you are absolutely going to be excited for the next book. This story is a fantastic must read and doesn’t disappoint.
Beauty and Cruelty, Hand in Hand One thing I have to say is that I absolutely love the way this author writes. Truly beautiful language and word choice, she creates such vivid descriptions. I would say this leans more heavily toward the Fantasy than the Romance in this book, but that is by no means a bad thing. It’s intriguing, and just so well written than you can’t put it down. I like the fact that she has a more “paternal” figure as well as romantic interests. I also like that she does a really good job mimicking the way some of the characters from the original book spoke—with just enough alteration to fit the new story. It’s very organically done. I was a little confused by the switch in referring to Vee and Dee individually from they/their, to he/him, but I was able to move past it as it didn’t jar me out of the story too much. There are also a few typos, but that can happen in any book. I should also note that this is not a spicy book. Perhaps there will be more spice in the next book, but this one is pretty mild. It doesn’t take away from the story, but I’d definitely like to see it heat up a bit in the second book.
This is an awesome retelling of Alice in Wonderland with so much depth. I love all the different pieces that are woven together and the world building is amazing. Alice is an omega woven into the fabric of Wonderland that requires 5 anchors. The bonds happen really quickly between Alice and 3 of the 5 with what I felt was very little interaction. Most stories you read with omegas require the bond to have some intimacy and there was very little heat in this book. Hoping that picks up in book two. One thing that was very redundant is the repeating of "through the bound I felt." It pretty much a given that Alice will feel all the emotions of her anchors through their shared bonds and I grew tired of constantly reading that phrase. I kind of tuned out about 80% of the way through the book because that phrase was all I read.
There is a cliffy but it is very predictable as to what is going to happen. As a whole this was a good book, I just got tired of constantly reading "through the bond I felt." Hoping book two can grab my attention better.
Whimsical, Wild, and Wonderfully Addictive! Knot My Wonderland by Aspen Winters is an absolute fever dream of a fantasy romance—in the best way possible! From the very first page, I was swept into a world that’s twisted, magical, and full of surprises. Aspen takes the classic Alice in Wonderland theme and gives it a deliciously dark, spicy, and emotionally intense spin. The heroine (our “Alice”) is strong-willed, sarcastic, and totally relatable as she navigates a strange world full of knotty secrets and dangerously attractive men who each bring their own magic (and chaos) to the table. Each character is unique and unforgettable—whether you’re falling for the protective brute, the charming trickster, or the brooding mystery, there’s someone to obsess over. The pacing is fast, the banter is sharp, and the steamy moments are chef’s kiss. But what surprised me most is how much heart is packed into the madness. Beneath the twisted fun, there’s a story of finding yourself, embracing the unexpected, and learning to trust even when everything feels upside-down
Alice is feeling lost as an Omega at college, where the societal expectation is for her to find an alpha and settle down. On a solo hike to help clear her head, she miscalculates her step and falls off a cliff. When she wakes up, she finds herself in a different world, looking up at someone she thought was a childhood dream.
Aspen weaves a compelling new tale of childhood story all grown up. We are reintroduced to the Cheshire cat, the tweedle twins, and the Hatter. We are also introduced to the prince of hearts, the king of spades, and a wonderland that is on a brink of war, where four kingdoms are split and a land that is fading.
If you are looking for a retelling that opens your imagination to a new take on Alice in Wonderland, a grown-up twist with multiple mates, slow burn start, and relationships that have the potential to re-make-or-break wonderland and all its inhabitants, this is a story to be read. It ends on a cliff hanger and will have multiple books in the series.
Whoa, this was definitely different & yet very intriguing.
I was definitely hooked in once she ended up in Wonderland again.
Getting to see a different take on some famous characters was definitely fascinating to read. I mean Hatter taking on the mantle of father figure. Then her anchors. The five men who will help Alice in her pursuit to unify Wonderland once again are all very different but very luring in their own ways.
She was only able to connect with 2 of out the five but definitely interested to see how the others play out.
But that ending though!? I mean for Alice to end up there after such a horrible moment. I’m gonna need her anchors to swoop in & help her. Because me no likey the Queen of Hearts. I would really like to see her demise.
I am very invested though & am anxiously waiting to see how the next book plays out. I’m gonna need some answer asap please 🙏
This definitely had me locked in & just dying to see how it all played out.
Knot My Wonderland is the first book in this new series. An omegaverse retelling of Alice in Wonderland is a genius idea.
From the first chapter, I was transported into the magic of this world, where Alice has been pulled back into Wonderland. It is unusual for dreamers to return a second time, especially as an adult. The fact that she's an omega means that most creatures in Wonderland are stalking her. But the magic of Wonderland is changing Alice and is helping her to be ready to face these threats.
This first book was a great blend of reimagined characters woven within this magical world of adventure and danger. I loved seeing familiar characters and seeing them in a new light. I also loved how the author stirred up things in Wonderland and added in the whole omegaverse part. It is a very cool way to reinvent a classic tale.
Looking forward to the next book and more Wonderland.
A deliciously twisted retelling of the Alice in Wonderland story with a grown-up, Omega-presenting Alice thrown back into a magical world of danger, desire, and political intrigue.
This book leans heavily into rich worldbuilding, in-depth character development, and a slow-burn romance that simmers beneath the surface. While it takes its time ramping up the heat (especially for an Omegaverse), the emotional tension, plot twists, and character dynamics absolutely deliver.
Alice’s journey through Wonderland is filled with magic, mystery, and the promise of complex, captivating relationships. If you enjoy fantasy with spice, slow-building tension, and strong heroine energy, Knot My Wonderland is definitely worth the fall.
Can’t wait to see where this series goes next. 🖊️Just a note this review is entirely voluntary. No compensation was received, and all thoughts are 100% my own.
It was a very interesting dark twisted fairytale. Good storyline, which has me emotionally invested in that I need part 2 asap. Good well described characters love the alternate sides to the characters. Alice is an omega who feels she doesn't quite fit in the world, but then she is taken back and trapped in wonderland, where she starts to develop into the amazing FMC she was always meant to be. She has a magical connection to wonderland, but to stabilise the power she is required forms bonds to anchor the magic. Essentially, these will become her mates, as there appears to be chemistry between all the potential bonds. But all the current royals want that power for themselves, and will use deadly force to take it. This book built the world perfectly with great descriptive writing. I can not wait to see where the story leads and what twists will unfold.
This omegaverse retelling of Alice and Wonderland is so fantastically chaotic. The author created an extraordinary world with characters like the original story but with a uniquely dark twist.
I adored the mess that is the Hatter. So chaotic charming. I loved how paternal he is with Alice. Chi’s grinning manic energy is exactly the kind of trouble Alice needs to navigate Wonderland. Dee and Vee bring a sort of ying and yang vibe to the group. Seth, is controlled and calculating, and I’m looking forward to seeing what’s underneath all of that. Then there’s Hart, the rebel. The spice is slow building but once it gets started I know it’ll be good.
Overall, I enjoyed the book. The characters are well written and the story flows nicely. Plus it was interesting to see the author’s take on all the original characters.
I've read a couple of stories from this author already and really enjoyed them, and this one I enjoyed just as much. When Alice takes a tumble off a cliff, she is transported back to Wonderland, only it's different now, but then again, so is she. This is a fantastic new take on the classic, and not just that, but it's only part one.
Wonderland is in chaos, and Alice might be the only one who can repair the damage that has been done to it, but she won't be able to do it alone. There are parts to the puzzle; other players needed on the chessboard to help her succeed.
Hatter has got to be one of my favourites, including Dee and Vee, who are a little confusing at times, but Alice seems to understand them better than anyone. This story however, does end on a cliffhanger ending and I really can't wait for part two!
A reimagining of Wonderland, with intriguing ideas and characters, all of whom are older, though I suppose if you are being pedantic, there is a large age gap between Alice, Seth and Chi. There are so many strands to the story, Alice is an omega, the Red Queen an alpha, there are bonds forming, patterns growing, plus betrayal and blood magic. It was a little overwhelming at times. There was also quite a long start about Alice in the real world, which after we were told she could never return, seemed a little pointless. There’s delicious tension between Alice and her bonded and soon to be bonded, but very little actual spice. The story flows really well and with the ending, I am definitely going to read the next one.
This was a fun and unique read by a new-to-me author. First off, I was thrilled with the idea of an Alice in Wonderland retelling. It's not that common. I also loved the twist of it being an omegaverse story. So fun! This is the first installment of Alice's return to Wonderland and how everything has changed. She starts connecting with characters that have also grown and evolved, making everything fresh for us readers...and Alice ;) However, nothing is simple and I found myself glued to my reader, following her along. This really is the start of her journey and I definitely cannot wait for the next book to see how things continue to unfold for her and her men. (You know this means there's a cliffy so be prepared for it ;P)
I absolutely love how this author writes. She has this gift to transport me to another place of these amazing characters that is just my happy place.
Here in Knot My Wonderland it is a Omegaverse retelling of one of my favorites Alice in Wonderland. I just loved the new version of this wonderful tale. Aspen has taken and made this a fantasy read more than an romance, and I was so here for that. So much going on here, it was hard sometimes to keep up. What did throw me off and I had to re-read it a few times to understand the vee/dee and they and their. It does not take away from the story, just the word play had me going back to re read it.
Great writing, great story and fast paced. This is going to be an amazing series I know it.
This was incredibly detailed, complex. There's so much to read: balance, magic, wonder, war, and hopelessness. The relationships developed fast, but also realistically, as much as a fantasy book can depict real relationships. The twist of David sending her to the Red Queen was surprising, even though I knew she was planning something. We see characters that we know. The Mad Hatter, Cheshire Cat, Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum, the Caterpillar, White Rabbit, with mentions of the doormouse and march hare. Then there are new ones that develop the world of Wonderland into a sprawling, different world than the one in the kids' book or movies. It was a bit repetitive, and there are confusing time factors, but WONDERFUL.
I love Alice in Wonderland retellings. The Wonderland concept is always so interesting. This book in particular has a great plot! So far there has been good story development. I’m a plot-heavy kind of person and I love that although this story definitely hints at some more spicy moments to come, right now it is focused on building the connection between the characters - and I love that. The characters themselves are wonderful - so interesting and dynamic. This is only part one though, so we still have a ways to go to see true growth in some of the characters! I’m really enjoying this story so far and can’t wait for part two!
Aspen gives us the beginning of an awesome Wonderland retelling duet! Alice returns to Wonderland as an adult to find out that this time she won't be going back and that she'll be the catalyst to heal the damage done by the queens and king over the centuries. This leads to a wild rollercoaster ride of emotions and events as she begins to collect her anchors on the way to a wicked cliffhanger. Dive into this wonderfully written book with complex characters and plot twists that keep you glued to your chair and turning pages throughout! I loved reading this story and can't wait for the next book. Don't miss out on this book!!
What a fantastic Alice in Wonderland rendition! Alice has been to Wonderland before, but never expected to return now as an adult in college. Now returning in her full Omega status, this significantly impacts this second trip to this strange and magical land. Many are now looking to her as a prize, and those she meets are much more than just friends. We see a lot of the characters from the original fairytale redone for the Omegaverse world, and I never expected so many to turn out so... steamy. The suitors from Wonderland are truly off the charts, and I cannot wait to dive right back into the rabbit hole in book 2!
