Book #6 to this exciting historical romance series. I am still loving the Graham family, and now we have a new family added to the mix, and that is the Gibsons.
Review to come once I get settled back from our weekend wedding trip, but all in all another great read!!

Rebecca Graham has chosen her prince when she was still a teen. Sadly he has proven to be a toad. Now, five years later, she is the town's healer, has a satisfying life, and has her heart locked inside of her chest. However, none of this prevents her for falling again for the same jerk. Does she like to suffer? Can she avoid him? Or is destiny telling her they are fated to be together?

Tobias Gibson has been destined from birth to be a bad person. When his grandfather dies, he almost left earth with him. Five years later he has barely manage to survive. Living without proper hygiene, getting drunk all the time, has been his career for these last years. When tragedy hits his family once again, he decides to man-up and help out. What he is not expecting is life's curve ball in the form of his old love Rebecca Graham. Does a man deserves second chances? What about third?

Tobias is the sixth book of a western series that involves a family of eight and the hard life at the 1800's. Haven't read previous books from this series, I believe I have miss some important facts of the family's history, that would definitely have enriched my read.

This book has a well written plot, with good characters and a great setting. Rebecca is a good example of a strong Texan woman that veers away from the standard to create a path for herself. Tobias, I have separated in two. The first-part-of-the-book Tobias, is not one that I like. Is a bit irrational, from my part but, I have a big thing with hygiene and cleanness, and just reading about him living in a shackle, pissing and pooping almost anywhere, was a bit of a turn-off for me. I know the building of this description has a point in the story, but it kept distracting me with out-of-places thoughts. The second-part-of-the-story Tobias, I like. He is a man looking for redemptions, better yet, he is a clean man, proactively going after redemption.

Ms. Lang has catch my interest, and I'm really looking forward to read about Cat and Benji's books. In fact they are very appealing characters. Now, I know I'm going back to reading the previous books of the series, so I can better how the characters evolve through the time.

You may read this book because you've been following this series from the start; you should read this book because you like western romances; but you MUST read this book because you like to see someone break-out of their shell and rebirth!

"She thought she knew what love was, but she was so very wrong. It wasn't a fluffy, pretty cloud to catch and admire. It was an elemental connection between two hearts and souls, the essence of life.""

Tobias Gibson & Rebecca Graham
Rebecca secretly harbored a crush on Tobias for years. she put it behind her because she knew it was impossible and that she would pursue being a healer/doc. She met him again 5 years later when his brother James comes for her to tend to youngest brother Will. Tobias is a mess. He's wallowing in self-pity and is a drunk. when he is hurt as well she needs to tend both of them. he knows he has done wrong and when she reveals her secret, he knows how wrong he has been. Very good story.

Enjoyed book

I liked this book a lot. This is the 2nd one I've read from this series. The problem with this one was the editing. They obviously used spell check but no editing. There were so many editing errors it was annoying and very distracting. Dont remember the other book being like this. Hopefully the writer will hire an editor. Really would help.

REVIEW: 3.75 stars--TOBIAS is the sixth installment in Emma Lang’s (Beth Williamson) historical western Circle 8 romance series focusing on the men and women of the Graham family owned Circle 8 ranch. This is Rebecca Graham and Tobias Gibson’s story. Although this is the sixth book in the series, it can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information, from the previous storylines, is imparted where necessary.

Told from third person point of view, the storyline focuses on Rebecca Graham –a healer or the ‘doc’ as she has come to be known. When she is called to aid a wounded ranch hand she is stunned when the man that she once loved comes along for the ride. Tobias Gibson’s brother has been gravely injured and he is lost as to know what to do.

The premise follows a second chance relationship between Tobias and Rebecca. Five years earlier, following a forgettable one-time act of sex, Tobias walked away from Rebecca, never looking back. There is a history between Tobias and Rebecca’s family one that years earlier compelled Tobias to set fire to the Circle 8 ranch and the resulting loss of life has eaten away at Tobias ever since.

Tobias is a shell of his former self. Alone and drunk, Tobias has been separated from his family and those that he has loved for years but when what appears to be an attempt on his younger brother’s life, Tobias will find himself in need of Rebecca’s medical knowledge, as well. The years have not been good to Tobias and, his personal and private life have all gone to h*ll. He is a man who is wracked with guilt, self loathing and personal doubt. His is unable to forgive himself for the sins of his past.

The relationship between our leading couple is one of attraction and love. Rebecca and Tobias have never stopped loving or wanting one another but there are too many years and heartbreaking secrets for our couple to begin anew. It is only when Tobias finds himself in prison for a crime he of which he has no recollection does he realize that Rebecca is the only woman in his heart.

The world building continues with the inclusion of most of the previous storyline couples. We are re-introduced to the people at the Circle 8 ranch and get a glimpse at the next generation of family and friends.

Emma Lang pulls the reader into a compelling historical western storyline of betrayal and trust; loving and loss; family and friends. It is a story about two people who have suffered with the knowledge that life as it once was will no longer be the same. There is also the introduction to the next couple-James Gibson and Cat Graham’s story.

TOBIAS: Circle 8 is a story of family sacrifice and finding love. If you love an historical, western storyline with a broken hero and a second chance at love then TOBIAS is the read for you.

The Circle Eight Series is one of my favorite series by far. I have enjoyed each of the stories of the Graham's adventures and finding their true loves. I have to say Rebecca and Tobias' story is my favorite. In the previous book you find out that Rebecca has fallen for Tobias and thinks of him as her Hero and sees him as her future husband. In this book she has not seen Tobias in 5 years because of the way they exited each others life. Time has not faded her love for Tobias, but she has given up on her hero and dream of marriage to him. She is brought back into his presence when his younger brother has been injured and needs her help as a healer. Time has not been good to Tobias as he has fallen into the bottom of a bottle and cut ties with everyone and everything he loved.
The chemistry between the two is still alive, but they are both denying its presence. I enjoyed the back and forth banter of these characters. They are two sides of the same coin, both to stubborn to see the love that is still in their hearts for each other. When Rebecca confides her secret to Tobias and the way that he reacted is heartbreaking and beautiful. The love that Tobias has in his heart for his brothers after they are reunited is wonderful to watch.
This book is full of adventure and intrigue. The villains are cruel and deputy is just as devious. I hope you will pick up this story and get lost in the adventure and emotion of The Circle Eight Series. You will thank yourself later!!!

Tobias was a great book to read.
Rebecca Graham finally gets her shot at happiness.
But the problem is the man she choose, at age seventeen, is no prince at all. Tobias Gibson. The one person who her whole family dislikes. But it still doesn't stop her from wanting him. And going after him. Only, her fantasies dont match up to what happens. She is heartbroken and hardens her heart and concentrates on being a healer.
Five years later, Tobias is back asking for her help for his brother. She doesn't hesitate or let the past stop her from helping someone who needs a healer.
But when they get to the ranch that his brother works on, things aren't as they seem. Secrets abound and danger lurks around the corner. They have to stick together to through this.

Tobias was such a good book. I absolutely loved it. I am looking forward to Catherine's book.

Another great book in the Circle Eight series! It's been 5 years since the previous book, Nicholas, and Rebecca Graham is now a practicing doctor and Tobias Gibson is a drunk wasting away on regrets and self pity. Through coincidence, they are brought together again. Rebecca is also no longer the naive and innocent starry eyed girl in love with Tobias. I enjoyed the trials and tribulations Tobias had to go through to become a better man. It was heartbreaker about trials and tribulations Rebecca had gone through. But both she and Tobias came through it better people once it became known. It was great to see the Grahams and the Gibsons come together again as family to protect every one. And the tension between James and Catherine makes me anticipate the next book in the series. Of course, we're all waiting for Ben's (Benjy) story the most. At least I am!

I was very excited to get Rebecca and Tobias' story. I'm not sure it was what I was expecting though.
I can't believe Rebecca had a secret as big as she did and she never told anyone. OR that someone (the one person she shared it with) would actually keep that secret for her back in those times. I'm glad she eventually told Tobias though.
I love the headstrong women in this series and the men that love them. I love that somehow those strong women get the men to pull their heads out of their asses and become the man they need them to be.
I think what I missed most was the strong sense of closeness within the family that I normally feel. With Tobias' family being broken and not caring and hers being far away it just didn't translate well in the book for me.

I love this series. I can not wait for the next book to come out. So when Tobias came out yesterday I was ready to read it. I had to wait because of things. It took my 2 1/2 hours to read the book. This story has you at Chapter One all the way to the end. I could not but it down. I will tell you that you will cry. It is a sad story with a great ending. I even wish I could jump in to the book and kill couple of people. I wanted to knock Tobias in the head. Rebecca had me cheering. She a strong and smart women and know what she wants. Becca just does not think she going to get it. I can not wait for the next book. Thank you for writing a great book.

Tobias feels like he is the bad boy and no one but his pop's loved him. He turns to the bottle and feels he is alone his brothers moved on. When his pop's died five years before he walked away from Rebecca Graham and she promised herself never again.
Rebecca became a healer and took care of anyone that needed her help little did she know Tobias and his brother would be her patients and he would steal her heart again. I loved this book and can't wait to read the next one.

So far, my favorite in the Circle Eight series. Both Tobias and Rebecca are examples of what it is to fall down and get up. She’s intelligent, authentic an example for the women of her generation. He’s had an awful life that has scarred him big time, yet he manages to find a new path in life not trying to forget but remembering at every step what made him that way.
I can’t wait to read Cat and James’ story!

Love this series

Beth Williamson/Emma Lang is an automatic buy author for me and I'm never disappointed. I always know there will be a wild west adventure, a little heartache, and a whole lot of love when I open up a book by the very talented Mrs. Williamson. Great addition to the Circle Eight series.

Love, mystery, and the humanities of family members. The loyalty and the compassion of said family, did not take away from the life of our pioneering cowboys.

3.5 stars. I enjoyed that Tobias pulled himself up by the bootstraps and kicked his addiction. I wish there was more relationship building with Tobias and Becca though.
