In a moment when everyone is seeking to be “set apart” as something—successful, beautiful, talented, popular, skilled, knowledgeable, or blessed—being set apart as holy is often an overlooked (or even undesirable) pursuit. Even for believers who agree that holiness matters in the Christian life, we often feel more comfortable cultivating and assigning other godly attributes to ourselves—love, grace, mercy, justice, kindness, and so on. But holy? It is so…other.
With biblical teaching and practical tools, longtime Bible teacher and women’s minister Tasha Calvert delivers good God is calling you to be different, set apart, and “other,” yes, but in a far better way than the world offers. In this book, you’ll
What holiness really means and how to access it (good it’s not impossible or irrelevant!) How to identify the obstacles keeping you from being set apart for God The practical tools you need to cultivate a holy, different, and transformed life How to offer your whole life to God, instead of just parts of it How to faithfully walk out who God already declares you to be It may feel like holiness doesn’t come naturally to you, but it comes naturally to God. Through His empowerment and your daily decision to lift up your whole life to Him, you will experience what it means to not only be different—but changed all the way through.
This is a wonderfully practical guide (that I spoke about on the podcast) that teaches exactly what God's command for us to be holy really means. Tasha Calvert unpacks the verses about holiness with context, discusses common roadblocks believers might incur, and offers practical instructions on how we can can practice holiness in our everyday lives. I thought it was really helpful!
Tasha is so knowledgeable and wise!!! All of us should desire to be holy just as Christ is holy, and Tasha gives so much insight on habits and rhythms to apply to your life that align with what God says. This book was incredibly transformative - it is a MUST READ!!
Set Apart for More; The Transformative Power of Living Your Whole Life for a Holy God by Tasha Calvert
I get it, I really do. Yes, in the world it seems everyone is searching for some way to “set themselves apart”. Yet all the while… all seeming the same.
But, for God’s children, being set apart is oh so much different than what the world is seeking. In this book, the author walks us through just how we are set apart by the King… Set Apart to be Holy. With biblical teachings and practical tools, Ms. Calvert brings the good news that we are called to be Set Apart from this world. She uses her skills to take us through – What holiness really means, Identifying obstacles keeping us from being set apart, Practical tools we need to cultivate the Holiness we are called to and How to walk out who God already declares you to be.
This is the first book I have read by Ms. Calvert, and I thoroughly enjoyed her book. Her wit and sense of humor were delightful. I will truly say, this is not a “once and done” read and move on. This book requires reading, rereading, reflecting and deep study. Thank you, Ms. Calvert, for the opportunity to read this book.

Disclosure: I received this book free from B&H Publishing via NetGalley. The opinions I have expressed are my own, and I was not required to write a positive review.
“Set Apart for More” was such a timely and encouraging read. I appreciated how the book challenged me to pursue holiness and deeper surrender to Christ without feeling heavy-handed or discouraging. Tasha writes in a way that is both relatable and rooted in Scripture, and I found myself highlighting so many passages along the way. More than anything, this book reminded me that being set apart isn’t about striving for perfection, but about belonging fully to Jesus and living for His purposes. I walked away encouraged, convicted, and more eager to pursue the things of God.
Holiness. It honestly not a concept that I would seek to attain in my Christian walk. Always felt is it something we gain upon Jesus return but Tasha has made some great points that in our Christian walk we need to seek holiness and points to scripture. It is a very convicting book as some points "ruffled my feathers". It was a good wake up call for me to improve my walk.
Not many people are writing about holiness, but Tasha does it really well, with honesty and wisdom. She takes concepts that often feel lofty and makes them relatable and accessible for anyone, no matter where they’re at in their faith.
