Lesson #1 Life Happens When You're Busy Making Other Plans
Is what she finds out when brilliant university student Lynora Minnelli meets the hot new Professor, Simon Foster, on campus. Her reaction isn't what you might think. He gets her fired her from her job as a Teacher's Assistant all because of his shitty arrogant attitude.
He claims he doesn't need her but that proved to be untrue as his hunger for her stokes into a fire. She claims she doesn't like him but that also proves to be false as her stubbornness falls prey to his carnal desires.
Once the two come together there's a lot of lessons to learn. Him with affairs of the heart and her with her knack to keep her distance and for the first time in their life they come to love it.
It would be very remiss of me if I didn't give you fair warning. Upon reading this story you'll never look at showers the same and you'll never look at the game Simon Says without the urge to crack mischievous smile.
Teacher's Pet is a coming of age, new adult romance that teeters on erotic romance. It's meant for a mature audience, 18 and older only.
The first day she starts working with him, he grabs her wrist, sits her down on his lap and starts rubbing her. Later he says that he has a tendency to get involved with people he shouldn't. Well, lucky for her, I guess. In the book blurb it says she is smart and intelligent. She is not! She is always late, skips classes, is rude and disrespectful. How she got the job as a TA is beyond me, but author says that the heroine is smart and intelligent, that's all you need to know.
This is getting really annoying - authors choosing taboo subjects without knowing what to do with it. This professor Simon, is as perverse (not in a good way) as they come in a bad erotica books. You take the word "professor" out of the story, and you get just some random creep hopping a leg of a woman on a subway. The book is full of lines pulled straight out of manuscript for a porno film, such as "I'm sure you can offer me more satisfying things than an apple." The line is used during their third meeting.
The book is free, so there was no hard earned cash lost at least.
So I was intrigued by the blurb and title of this story, I expected a little bit of a taboo story about a college professor and his TA. Although that is what I did get; I didn’t get the story that I really needed.
Simon is introduced as the replacement professor who is a little hot headed and very easy on the eyes. While Lynn is the shy student who is clearly not aware of her own attractiveness and is a little on the shy side. When they have two disastrous encounters prior to the first day of class, I was waiting for a slow start to this story, one that would build the attraction of these two but got instead a very quick flash of heat that seemed out of place.
The encounters between these two had very little justification and made Simon seem physically out of control. I didn’t really get a feeling that there was anything true with his reactions to her, like it was a bit about the danger of the situation and not really anything deeper. Especially since they said only a few words to each other, it was hard to expect any type of foundation for a relationship to suddenly appear.
For Lynn. I was confused. She was this poor, shy student who seemed to be innocent and an ugly duckling type. Then suddenly she was playing seductress and was far more aware of what she had to work with. That revelation comes to her almost instantly and without warning.
Then there were some small things that just too much. The use of the word moist is one that most readers will tell you is cringe-inducing. The use of moist, moisture, moistened... was overused and at some point I was trying to match up the inner dialogue of an econ major with the way she described certain things and feelings. And the use of every word/phrase other than pussy to describe the “passage’ between her legs. Sometimes simple is better.
I just couldn’t piece together the parts of this story. From trying to find a way to understand these characters and their actions/behaviors to trying to grasp on to the direction of the story... I just was not able to. With these serials it is difficult to pull off the story within a story concept that each of these need to hold with in its pages. I just don’t foresee myself continuing with this series but will probably check back on a few reviews of the other installments to see if there is a point where it comes together.
Okay so this book just didn't do it for me at all. It was just annoying and unrealistic.
Lynn pretty much fell in love in a matter of days with this professor Simon dude despite barely speaking to him throughout the day... Must be the lucky red apple that did it or the way he spoke to her like shit :/ . -For a 22 year old woman she acted too childishly for my liking. I just wanted to kick some sense into her.
And sorry but what was with telling people she was seeing this guy!! For a smart student she sure seems dumb. She knows if it got out he could lose his job. Fine, she told her best mate bobbi about it, who then pretty much told her boyfriend straight away for 'advice'. Then she's woken by her room mate who she dislikes and clearly doesn't trust- and tells her... Am i missing something? Is this not a big deal to be putting out there??!? Ffs i wanted to slap her.
Seriously, I'm glad this wasn't a full book because i don't think i could have made it through without throwing it at the wall.
Worst smutt book I’ve read to date. Here is why: *SPOILERS AHEAD*
1) No matter how the author spins Lynn’s desire for Mr. Foster, it does not negate the fact that he is a pervy, middle-aged man who clearly doesn’t care about consent before touching a woman sexually….especially in a classroom. Or stalking them unapologetically when they have rejected his already. Gross.
2) there was no chemistry between the characters, no matter how hard the author tried. There was not a single conversation or action that suggested that Simon even remotely cared about Lynn the way he sweared he did. Maybe that’s the point but if she tried to show some kind of potentially love story in this, it was not executed well.
3) how do you go from talking on opposite sides of a tree to avoid being seen even talking to each other to having a full grown man follow you into a *probably* all female dormitory bedroom for sex only a few chapters later? Make it make sense.
4) why split the book up? It’s one thing to make a sequel to create an addition to a story; but this “book” felt like it was only about 25% of the main story. It makes me not even want to try to wait it out to give it a chance.
5) the writing overall feels very mediocre to me.
The ONLY reason I’m rating this 2 ⭐️ instead of 1 is because I kinda like Sonja AND, as much as I don’t want to admit it after ranting, the ending of the this “book” did make me possibly want to start the next one. At least the possibility is still there so I give another star.
Other than that, there are much better smutt books out there that actually give you the feeling you’re suppose to get with smutt, people. I’d say skip over this one if you’re indecisive.
The characters are contradictions of one thing to the next. She's supposed to be intelligent but Lacks enough smart to dress appropriate. Instead being frumpy. She's late, not accurate when grading papers, falls asleep in class, has no self confidence but thinks she's beautiful. And falls for her hot and hot headed, rude and dismissive new professor only a week after meeting him. Both characters are immature. With no emotional connection, no getting to know each other, and no sign of the desire for each other to risk what's a stake if they're caught. Or sign that they care if they get caught. In her pants the first day, sex a few follow that. There was no build up or flirting before the encounters. I never write bad reviews but this book start to finish was bad and I only read the first one of 62 pages. Thankfully it was free or I'd actually be mad
I think this novel had a good bit of potential but it wasn't executed well at all. The main female character wasn't very solid - her disposition was all over the place. One second she was a meek, quiet character. The next she became head strong and open. Eh... I don't know. This just didn't work for me at all. Too many "yea, right" moments in the story and serious eye rolls.
I liked reading Teachers Pet, all about Professor Simon Forster a young thirty year old hot professor & a TA from one of his classes. Seems he did not really care for the TA, however he did make advances to her! The author wrote a very interesting story, and the characters brought said story to life. Read about the adventures with the professor and his TA.
Quick read only 62pages. OK, everthing just seemed to happen so fast. I was surprised at how quickly Prof. Foster hit on Lynn with seemingly no regard to his career. Then her elusive roommate suddenly becomes her bff.
I go into a book like this with certain expectations. Unfortunately, this didn't meet those expectations. The writing seems choppy, the time line is miniscule, and the characters are boring.
I will not be finishing this series. I'm glad this was a free book.
She's an idiot and for a supposed thirty-something professor - he's a complete douche! The cliffhanger ending is fine with me, I have no interest in reading more about them. Not poor writing, just terrible characters and an incredibly rushed plot.
I enjoyed this story. The characters were intriguing and the story had a steady pace to it.
I gave this story a 3 star rating however, because I did not realize going in that this was part of a serial. I don't like those kinds of stories because I always feel like I'm being cut off in the middle of it, which technically I am. This is the only reason the three stars. I do plan on buying the completed set and will post a new review on there as soon as I can finish the story. I anticipate a higher rating if the story continues as it has.
Lynn is a TA at a university and also a student. She meets her new professor Mr foster. Mr Simon Foster is taking over professor Nora Temple job since she is pregnant and needs time of her feet. Nora makes Simon take on her TA without question, he hates the idea. Through the story their is a lot of flirting between Lynn and Simon. Lynn is a confused by his advantages. In the end they sleep together then call it quits. This is not something that I would normally read.
I liked it. The only thing is I don't like that it is a series. I would enjoy reading more about it, but I can't justify spending the amount of money for only 60 pages.
When I first started this story it had good potential but it went downhill as I read on. The story finally started to have some interesting points and supporting details to the story but it just abrubtly ends! I do not have any intention of reading the second book which is not my norm.
Thrown together by force they have to deal with each other for their temporary situation. He’s gorgeous and feisty. She just needs to make it for a few months. Spicy read. Abrupt ending.
Quiet okay for a free book. But at a point in time I honestly got frustrated with the TA running between two brothers and being reckless with them.. Well, glad she made a choice finally and the story ended
