Who this book is for
Αλλού is for A0-A1 adult learners interested in delving into Greek, and understanding how sentences with complex notions can be put together in simple, natural language. This will enable you to structure your own thoughts and start expressing yourself in a meaningful way, even at a basic level of vocabulary and grammar.

The book has four parts.
Part 1 ends stories with a glossary of words are marked bold in the text. On Kindle, you can tap on them to view their definition in a pop-up footnote window. Part 2 features a paragraph-to-paragraph translation for each story, with the addition of all-capital Greek text to help you become visually familiar with it. Part 3 is an alphabetised compilation of all glossaries from the first part. Part 4 is a grammar for complete beginners – a detailed explanation of all grammatical phenomena featured in this book. All the grammar needed to read this book is at the end .

No pronunciation guide is included, so it's a good idea to make sure you're able to read Greek first.

It’s best if you’ve had 5 to 10 hours of Greek learning before trying to read this. (And 5 to 10 hours of sleep, ideally) This can be time you’ve spent on lessons, language-learning apps, or other types of self-learning.

This book will not help you order food at the taverna. It is NOT a phrasebook, a textbook, a tourist-Greek guide, a survival-Greek handbook, or a book that teaches practical, everyday vocabulary. Wait... So... what was this book again?

I loved these short stories! Their witty dialogues and monologues, combined with simple syntax, pan-European terms, and repetitive patterns, make them enjoyable and easy to read for beginners.
