It's a God Thing Volume 2: When Miracles Happen to Everyday People

Rate this book
More incredible stories of God's intervention

Some things in life have no earthly explanation. It's just a God thing.

Miracles are not reserved for the characters in the Old and New Testaments; they happen to everyday people today, all around the world. Series creators Don Jacobson and K-LOVE Radio Network (14 million listeners) have joined together once again to produce a remarkable collection of modern-day miracles.

Stories include:

• A man who was mysteriously pulled from a broken truck as it sailed over a ravine
• A young boy who made a full recovery after being trapped under water for seven minutes
• A young girl who defied all medical prognoses and survived after her vehicle was hit by a train
• A mother, compelled to drive across town, who found her nine-year-old son stranded and alone at a busy intersection

Experiences like these are far more common than one may realize. From more than 1,000 occurrences, these 40 stories were chosen for their ability to amaze, encourage, and inspire all who live each day with both faith and doubt, victory and despair. Each day, the sunrise itself is a sign of God's miraculous hand, and these stories prove that it's only the beginning.

I really, REALLY needed this book now. I had read a real stinker and one meh book before this one and was starting to doubt I would find any good books for Lent this year.

I picked this book on my eReader while waiting for rehearsal to start and got sucked into it immediately. The stories are short, but they all pack a punch! I was tearing up, full out crying, laughing and smiling, thankful for God loving us and for people who shared their stories showing His love.

This book is a great pick-me-up. Positivity and love, exactly what I needed right now. Five stars, no question. I would recommend this for anyone who needs a reminder that God loves us, even, especially, through the tough times. Miracles still do happen. Maybe not on the scale of parting the Red Sea, but huge for each individual to whom they happen.

My thanks to NetGalley and Thomas Nelson--W Publishing for an eARC copy of this book to read and review.

Don Jacobson created these stories of miracles. They are not the epic miracles of the Old Testament but rather everyday events that are miracles. From a drowned child brought back to life because one mom had taken a CPR class. A prayer for God's angel to surround a mom and her two daughters as a tornado destroyed her home resulted in the three surviving. A young father who had no idea how he escaped his truck going over the cliff, he said God pulled him out of the truck. It's A God Thing Volume two, When Miracles Happen To Everday People will give you hope and raise your spirits. I know it raised mine as I went through a difficult time this summer.

MY REVIEW:

Jacobson & K-Love do it again! They have compiled a collection of everyday miracles. This is one of the most up-lifting books you will ever read. It will show that even in the deepest darkest moments of life, God is STILL in control. These stories give hope and encouragement. As I read each story, there was a little something I could identify with and often found myself wiping away the tears. I was reminded time and again of events I have taken for granted in my life, that were actually miracles through God. After reading this, my prayer is that I will be ever- mindful to always give thanks to God for His loving mercy and protection in my life. This is a book well worth reading.

Disclosure: I was given a copy of this book by Senior Publicist, Andrea Sanchez at Shelton Interactive, Publisher Thomas Nelson. I was not required to write a favorable review nor was I compensated for my review. The opinions in this review are my own.

I really enjoyed Don Jacobson`s first book, It`s A God Thing so I knew what to expect and knew that I would love It`s A God Thing, Volume 2.

It`s a God Thing, Volume 2, is a compilation of stories of God`s intervention in the lives of everyday people. God`s intervention happens in many different ways. These ways are told in the uplifting stories. I found them to be particularly comforting. It is always comforting to have reaffirmation of the wonderful blessings that the love of God can bring.

A dear friend was recently pulled back from the brink of death in the ICU so I found Story 55, Back From Death by Alan Flynt, to be particularly reassuring:

I found out that during the time I was in the coma, several churches, pastors, friends, and prayer groups were praying for me. It was humbling to hear about all the people who put their lives on hold to pray for me if only for a few minutes. My story doesn’t contain a vision or grand revelation that came to me while I was in my coma, but I do know that during the worst times, when everyone thought I was dying, I knew that I was not. I could somehow feel the hospital room vibrate with the prayers that everyone was offering up for me. It was as though my room was floating on those prayers; the presence of God was right there with me. (Don Jacobson: K-LOVE. It’s a God Thing: When Miracles Happen to Everyday People: Volume 2 (Kindle Locations 2540-2546). Thomas Nelson.)

All of the stories and testimonies are similar to that. Very uplifting. I think you`ll love it! A great gift for someone who needs to be reminded that God is amazing!

Anyone who believes God is out of the performing miracles business should consider reading It's a God Thing Volume 2: When Miracles Happen to Everyday People. This story collection of ordinary people sharing their experiences of God performing miracles in their lives is sure to transform many unbelievers into believers.

Within the pages of It's a God Thing Volume 2 you will find stories of God bringing people and circumstances together to restore faith and heal the sick. Other stories reveal God’s almighty hand led some to trust Him with the small details of life or obedience to Him when He speaks whether in a still, small voice or a push or shove.

Heartwarming stories of God drawing unsaved souls to Him in uncanny ways, pulling some out of a valley-season of life, dragging others out of their comfort zones to do His will, love Him, trust Him, and follow Him. Time spent with this book will certainly heighten your awareness of miracles in your everyday lives. I received a copy of It's a God Thing Volume 2: When Miracles Happen to Everyday People from the author with no expectation of a positive review.

*I was given a complimentary copy of this book through BookLook Bloggers in exchange for my honest opinion.*
This is a great "feel good" book. I enjoyed reading it a lot. It is about miracles that happen to all types of people in everyday situations. People came together to form this books, so it involves people of all walks of life. All the stories listed are pretty short, so you can always find an easy stopping point, if needed. The forty stories included are very encouraging, uplifting, and definitely made me thankful for what was around me. I finished reading each story thankful for God.
I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who wants a little encouragement in their life.
You won't be disappointed!

Hott Review:
What I liked: This book is amazing and can be both used as a typical read or as a devotional. I read the first half in one afternoon and enjoyed every story. Though I will admit that I had to ponder and pray during and after each story.
The essays contained in this are wonderful 5-10 minute reads that will have you marvelling at the wonders of God’s works and His continuing love. They will not only show you the big miracles but also the small everyday miracles that so many tend to overlook.
What I didn’t like: The only thing that bothered me was that most of the stories are from a woman’s perspective. I’d love to hear from men more frequently how He affects them.

This book rocks

I've read several similar books about God's marvelous works in people's lives. This book has a great selection of stories with relatable characters and everyday life as we all know and experience it. Most of the stories are short enough to read during a quick coffee break or while waiting on an appointment. Everyone of them has an inspiring, hope filled message to lift you to a higher realm bring more meaning to your daily existence. It's a God Thing really rocks.
