Abigail thought she’d saved Leon from the Bagman curse, but the Games are not yet over. The Oldest has forced Leon into a new Game and he must once again hold a Bagman’s bag.
In an attempt to save his slipping humanity, Abigail, Tabitha, and Leon traverse a war-weary England, in search of allies and answers. But Nightmares are trailing their every step, and a Bag is a dark burden indeed...
Meanwhile, Xanthe is separated from Boyle, and will do anything to find him, including allying herself with trickster and con-man, Jasper Leonard. But he is full of secrets and leads Xanthe to discover one about herself that she never thought possible.
And drawing them all into her web is... the Physician.

Everything I had hoped it would be... and more.

I thoroughly enjoyed The Bagman so I, like many others, waited patiently for The Physician. I think a lot of people will draw comparisons to the Miss Perigrine series, but for me, The Abigail Cobble Trilogy offers more!
The characters are so cleverly drafted that I have no difficulty visualizing them... or the landscapes described. My imagination just flew with this story-- it was so well done, it was if I was watching a movie in my mind. Not a difficult read in any way.
Although I could see influences, I never once felt as though the author had pillaged anything from another writer. The influences were detected but Rachael Rippon has a unique and compelling story here. I'm so excited for book three and can't wait to see where the story goes!
This book and it's series is a treasure. I am a fan now and will read anything that Rachael Rippon puts to paper.

I'm so in love with this clever series by Rachael Rippon. Part of it is her utterly charming writing style, which paints a unique picture of this thoroughly original world she has created. This book even twistier than the first and takes us far deeper into the world of Bagmen, Nightmares, and Fey.

I'll be anxiously awaiting the October 15th arrival of the third book!
