This is 2 for 1 collection of classic stories, cozy romances from Debbie Macomber's early writing. These are both cozy, light reading with all the nostalgia of the 80s romance genre. In Yesterday Once More, Julie fled three years ago after her engagement left her feeling so far from herself. Now she's back wanting to make amends with Daniel, the man she never stopped loving, but he's become hard and unforgiving. In Sugar and Spice, it's ten years since Jayne graduated and she's still single. Not wanting to embarrass herself in front of her bullies, she's determined to find a date. A chance encounter with her hot neighbor Riley has her convinced he's the one.

Sugar and Spice Kisses is one of those reads that feels warm and familiar, even if it didn’t completely sweep me away.

Yesterday Once More has that classic Debbie Macomber second-chance heart to it. Julie and Daniel’s story is tender, and I loved the idea of coming home and trying again. I just found myself wishing for a little more depth between them, but it’s still a sweet, hopeful reunion story.

Sugar and Spice was my favorite of the two. Jayne’s awkward charm and Riley’s steady presence made their opposites-attract storyline really easy to enjoy. It’s predictable in a comforting way—like a cozy rom-com you’ve seen before but don’t mind revisiting.

Overall, this 2-in-1 is soft, nostalgic, and simple. It didn’t become a standout read for me, but the gentle vibes and easy storytelling make it a nice pick when you’re in the mood for something light and feel-good.

Thank you to NetGalley and to the publisher for this e-arc in exchange for my honest review.

These were 2 cute and simple romance reads packed in one book. They are both cozy and light, and possibly are a bit dated but they're sweet reads. I could have used a little more depth to the stories, a little more angst but for what they were they were okay.

From #1 New York Times bestselling author Debbie Macomber comes a heartfelt novel about a young woman’s journey to earn forgiveness and her unexpected second chance at love. But when his mother falls gravely ill and her only request is for Julie and Daniel to resume their happily ever after, can they make her wish come true?
My favorite quote is
Early the next morning Julie arrived at work intent on checking the list of occupants in her office complex. The Inland Empire Building housed fifteen floors of offices. As she studied the directory in the foyer, the listing for Daniel Van Deen, Attorney, seemed to leap off the board. Only one floor separated her from Daniel. For five of the six days she’d been in Wichita, they’d been this close without even knowing it.
I recommend this book.

Sugar and Spice by Debbie Macomber
BY THE BOOK...
With her high school reunion coming up, librarian Jayne Gilbert was determined to go with a handsome man on her arm. The finding one. So Jayne decided to rely on her favorite source of books. Riley Chambers had no room in his life for women - especially not this gorgeous innocent armed with a book on How to Pick Up a Man. Unfortunately, women like Jayne had a way of sneaking up on a man, and whether he liked it or not, he was hooked. But had it been by the book?
My favorite quote is
Ms. J. Gilbert he didn't know her first name.
All sugar and spice and everything nice.
The best thing he could do was forget Ms. Sugar and Spice.
I recommend this book.

Reviewed at Happily Ever After Romance

Sugar and Spice Kisses is a 2-in-1 book of two previously published novels by Debbie Macomber. Since I am a longtime reader of Ms. Macomber’s work, this was a fun, nostalgic reread of romances I loved when they were first published and still enjoy today. To be fair, they might seem tame, even dated, compared to today’s romances, even what is considered “sweet & clean”. Yet, you’ll always find a character-driven romance without profanities or excessive intimate scenes in any of this author’s stories. If that is what you are looking for in romance, I can happily tell you there is a huge backlist of stories to get lost in, should this be your first experience with her work.

Yesterday Once More brings us Julie and Daniel’s rekindled romance. Julie ran away shortly before their wedding. In Daniel’s mother’s eyes, she could do nothing right; her every choice for the wedding was overridden… and it was HER wedding. Overwhelmed, she ran, but she never stopped loving the man she would have married. Three years later, Julie will return, determined to seek forgiveness from both Daniel and his mother, only to find that Daniel’s anger is not going away any time soon. And that his mother is deathly ill, and wishes to see them back together and happily married. For his mother’s sake, they agreed and married… only Julie will soon discover that the apple didn’t fall far from the tree, and if she and Daniel are ever to have a real marriage, some things are going to have to change.

Sugar and Spice brings us Jayne and Riley’s romance. Two people who couldn’t possibly be more opposite if they tried. Jayne is quiet, shy, and, in some ways, even sheltered. Her profession as a librarian allows her to live life vicariously through books, and it’s to those books she’ll seek help for finding a man to love her… or at least, get her through the school reunion coming up soon. When she runs into her neighbor, Riley, and one of her help books literally falls at his feet, she’d like nothing more than for the ground to swallow her up. Riley is a confident, determined man, completely at ease in his life. He’ll gladly step in to help Jayne shine at the reunion, and perhaps they can both find the happy ending Jayne’s self-help books promised.

I enjoyed Sugar and Spice Kisses. Both stories are well-written, emotional, with tears, laughter, and possibilities throughout. Just because a book wasn’t originally published yesterday doesn’t mean the stories within aren’t still enjoyable at any time. Yes, both stories were previously published, but they were both delightful, sweet, loving romances that I completely enjoyed (again) today. That is what makes Debbie Macomber a go-to author for me.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley, and I sincerely thank the author or publishing house for their trust. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

“Yesterday Once More” - Book 1 of 2 books

Julie Houses has recently moved back to Wichita. Leaving work one day, she finds herself in the elevator with Daniel Van Deen whom she has not seen in 3 years. They had been engaged when she was just 21 but Daniel’s wealthy mother-in-law stated planning a huge wedding, telling Julie how to dress and more which overwhelmed her. Daniel just expected her to go with it, but she couldn’t. So, Julie packed her bags and left town. Her guilt at hurting Daniel has been so bad so that’s why she has returned to Wichita to try and ask for Daniel’s forgiveness along with his mother’s forgiveness. Daniel wants nothing to do with her and she finds his mother very ill.

Since they work in the same building, Julie slowly tries to make amends with Daniel and his mother tells them she wants to see them married before she passes away. So, they quickly and quietly marry and Julie moves into his condo but with separate rooms. They slowly start to be together but more as roommates. When they do finally become intimate, she finds that Daniel wants her to quit work and stay home. But she refuses. So, there is still a lot of friction between them. Can they find a way to respect one another’s feelings?

“Sugar and Spice” - - Book 2 of 2 books

Jayne Gilbert works as a children’s librarian in Portland, Oregon. At 27, she is still a virgin and doesn’t hardly date anyone. She’s a pretty girl but appears to be prim and proper.

When she receives an invitation to her 10-year class reunion at St. Mary’s Girls School, she feels like it would be nice to go but she had always been teased for always having her nose in a book and no boyfriends.

She checks books out from the library about ways to find a boyfriend. Coming home to her apartment with an armload of books, she runs into her neighbor, Riley, and accidentally drops a book. When he reads the title, he laughs at her which embarrasses her. But soon, they begin a slow friendship and he offers to even teach her how to dance if she goes to her reunion. Slowly, they are drawn to one another but he seems hesitant to get too close. What is he hiding?

This was a sweet and clean book with a bit of adventure which added to the story. It is hard to believe that Jayne is so naive, but that only adds to the charm. Enjoy!

⭐⭐⭐☆☆ (3/5 stars)

This felt like curling up with a cozy blanket and an old-school romance movie- the kind that’s soft, familiar, and easy to sink into, even if it doesn’t completely sweep you away.

Sugar and Spice Kisses is a two-in-one collection of Debbie Macomber’s earlier stories, and you can definitely feel those nostalgic 80s romance vibes throughout. Both novellas are gentle, comforting, and very much centered on hope, forgiveness, and finding love when you least expect it.

Yesterday Once More leans into second-chance romance territory, with Julie returning home to face the man she once left behind. I liked the emotional premise of regret, forgiveness, and trying again after heartbreak, it has that tender, heartfelt quality Macomber does so well. I just found myself wishing for a little more depth in the emotional resolution, because the feelings were there, but I wanted them explored a bit further.

Sugar and Spice was my favorite of the two. Jayne’s shy, bookish personality and Riley’s steady, slightly mysterious charm made for a sweet opposites-attract dynamic that was easy to root for. It’s definitely predictable, but in a comforting, cozy-rom-com way where the journey matters more than the surprise. There’s something warm about watching a character step outside her comfort zone and slowly open herself up to love.

Overall, this collection is simple, nostalgic, and very feel-good. It didn’t become a standout read for me, which is why it lands at three stars, but it is a lovely choice when you want something light, wholesome, and easy to read without too much emotional heaviness.

If you’re in the mood for classic, cozy romance with gentle stakes and happy-ending energy, this is a sweet little escape.

This was such a warm, nostalgic comfort read. Two gentle, heartfelt romances bundled together, each leaning into second chances, vulnerability, and love that grows through honesty rather than grand spectacle.

Yesterday Once More is classic second-chance romance. Julie returning to Wichita after walking away from her wedding years earlier immediately sets an emotional tone that’s tender and bittersweet. The hurt between her and Daniel feels very real, the kind that lingers because neither person ever stopped loving the other. I appreciated how this story focused on growth: learning to speak up for yourself, setting boundaries, and understanding that love can’t survive if one partner disappears into someone else’s expectations. It’s soft, emotional, and quietly hopeful.

Sugar and Spice leans a little more rom-com, with a shy librarian heroine, a mysterious neighbor, and a reunion-fueled motivation that’s easy to root for. Jayne’s insecurities feel relatable, and watching her step outside her comfort zone was genuinely satisfying. The opposites-attract dynamic with Riley is sweet and charming, especially as misunderstandings give way to trust and connection. This one has more playful moments, but still delivers that cozy, reassuring happily-ever-after.

Together, these stories feel very much like a snapshot of classic romance storytelling- Earnest, sincere, and comforting. If you enjoy gentle pacing, emotionally grounded characters, and love stories built on forgiveness and self-acceptance, this collection is a lovely way to spend an afternoon.

3.5 stars rounded up. (Some of the references are a little dated but I didnt mind, as I am a little dated too.)

This is book is two stories in one. You first meet Julie and Daniel, Julie leaves Daniel right before their wedding. .Julie couldn't handled being pushed into a life she didn't want by her soon to be mother in law and not having Daniel stand up to his own mom and support Julie. Now 3 years later, Julie who has never stopped loving Daniel returns to their hometown in hopes or reconnecting and explaining herself and she has grown up but Daniel wants nothing to do with her. Julie goes to meet with Daniel's mom only to realize that his mom is ill and now she regrets her actions more then anything. One wish his mom has it for Julie and Daniel to be married before she dies. This is a sweet second chance romance.

Second book you meet Jayne and Rile who both live in the same apartment complex. . Jayne is a librarian and Riley has not been honest with what he does and Jayne is worried it's something she doesn't want to be part of. Jayne is looking for someone to take her to high school reunion so she doesn't have to show up alone, can Riley be the one? Riley says he'll be out of town but yet Jayne sees him around town. When Jayne turns to the police thinking Riley has gotten himself involved in something she is met with a complete surprise that she didn't expect.

Debbie Macomber has a gift for writing and creating characters who feel lived in from the first page. She blends everyday struggles with soft sparks of hope that love grows not from dramatic twists but from kindness, patience and small choices that can change everything.

Much to my surprise this was a two-for-one collection of two novellas by the popular writer, Debbie Macomber. My favorite of the two was titled Sugar and Spice and it featured a prim and proper librarian named Jayne and Riley, a good but rough-around-the-edges man who has been jaded by all of the hard things he has seen in the world. Jayne has lead a sheltered life and most of her experiences have come vicariously in books. They are opposites in many ways and that is why their relationship works. I loved the twists and turns as the reader learns along with Jayne about Riley’s true identity.

The other novella, Yesterday Once More, featured Daniel, a successful businessman, his overbearing mother named Margaret, and Julie, Daniel’s fairly young fiancee who was being pressured and browbeaten by Margaret to wear certain clothes, walk and talk a certain way, and let Margaret make all of the decisions regarding the wedding and where they would live, etc. When Daniel was unconcerned about this, Julie became a runaway bride about a week before the wedding. Most of the book takes place a few years later with a more mature Julie who still loved Daniel and returned to beg his forgiveness and hopefully reunite with him. Daniel hardened his heart and rejected her until his older and now-wiser mother intervened and reassured Julie that Daniel really loved her and she should not give up. I had trouble liking Daniel who gave me emotional whiplash with the way he treated Julie. Thankfully it all ended with a HEA. I received a advance digital copy of the book from the publisher. This is a two book collection. The first book, Yesterday Once More, tells the story of Julie Houser and Daniel Van Deen and their reconnecting after not seeing each other for over three years. They were once engaged to be married but things didn't quite go as planned and they parted ways. Can they get over old hurts, mistrust, and resentment and try to rebuild what they once had or are they destined to only be a couple that was once and will never be again? Read this charming short story to find out what happens when you try to put the past behind you and build a new future.
The second book, Sugar and Spice, tells the story of shy librarian, Jayne Gilbert, who is planning on attending her 10 year high school reunion ..... if she can find Mr. Perfect to go with her so that she can show her old classmates who were none too nice to her that she's no longer the mousy bookish plain Jayne that she was in high school. The problem is that she kinda still is that mousy bookish girl so she doesn't even have the first clue how she is going to meet a man who will wow her former classmates and get him to go with her in just a matter of a few months. Her fellow librarian and friend, Gloria, is bound and determined to help her succeed and before long Jayne is checking out an armload of "how to meet the perfect man and make him fall for you" books. Will Jayne find the perfect man to accompany her to the class reunion or will she find more than she bargained for while looking? This is another really good story from Debbie Macomber.

Yesterday Once More
The story of a runaway bride, Julie Houser, who returns to Wichita to win back her former fiancé, Daniel Van Deen. Their first meeting upon her return doesn’t go well. Daniel wants nothing to do with Julie and instructs her to stay away from his mother, also. But Julie can’t just leave things as they are and goes about trying to apologize to both Daniel and is mother. Will Daniel give her the second chance she desires?

Sugar and Spice
Jayne Gilbert was bullied in high school but yearns to go to her 10-year high school reunion to prove she's changed. The problem is, she hasn’t changed. Still a single virgin, still prim and proper, she lives alone and works in a library. Oh, how she would love to show up with a handsome man at her side. But who? At the advice of her friend and coworker, Gloria, she starts reading books on how to attract a man and follows some of the advice she reads about, which doesn’t turn out well.

She runs into her neighbor, Riley Chambers, and gets the impression he doesn’t much care for her. He’s never paid much attention to her in the first place, but when he runs into her in a bar, he’s extremely annoyed and lets her know. Slowly the two start to spend time together and Riley agrees to go to the reunion with her. But Jayne senses Riley is keeping some secrets and isn’t sure she can trust him. She even thinks he might be involved in something illegal. What’s a girl to do?

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This is two books in one. Both stories are sweet, but they are also very different.

In Yesterday Once More, Julie knows she hurt Daniel many years ago when she left him 5 days before their wedding. She wants forgiveness, and maybe the possibility of a new and improved relationship. What ends up happening is even more than she could have hoped for.

I enjoyed this sweet romance just because it was a second chance romance. They were so young when they were engaged before. Both of them have grown up and more fully understand the meaning of the word love, but it will not be an easy one.

Although I enjoyed the first book, I really enjoyed Sugar and Spice. The two main characters in this book made it well worth reading. Jayne Gilbert is a librarian who was always pushed aside in high school. Now her reunion is coming up and she wants to show up with a man on her arm. Be careful what you wish for Jayne.

Riley Chambers is her very mysterious, brooding neighbor. The main thing he has going for him is that he is a nice looking man. These two could not be more different. He has no personality, or that is what you think at first.

There were some sweet moments, some funny ones and a little mystery at the end. I liked both characters, even broody Riley. I knew there was more to him than met the eye.

Both stories have the signature sweetness and charm I have come to love from this author.

Thank to Harlequin and NetGalley for this ARC. I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Sugar and Spice Kisses surprised me in the best vintage way. It’s actually two novellas bundled together, and reading them felt like opening a time capsule of classic ‘90s romance; complete with phone receivers, Yellow Pages, and all the emotional drama you can imagine.

The first story, Yesterday Once More, is basically a Celine Dion song in book form. It’s wildly over-the-top, packed with long-lost love, dying mother-in-law wishes, and a conveniently timed (spoiler). The logic takes a few hits, but somehow I was still flipping pages and rooting for the happily ever after.

The second, Sugar and Spice, felt like it was written directly for 14-year-old me. A shy, bookish librarian with zero experience falls for a brooding undercover FBI agent with a secret past. There’s a proposal in a tuxedo, a dramatic entrance at a high school reunion, and enough virginity tropes to make every ‘90s teen girl swoon. Adult me sees the purity culture undertones and the “he’s emotionally unavailable because he loves me too much” fantasy for what it is, but I can’t lie ... younger me would have eaten it up.

This book doesn’t hold up to every modern lens, and I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it to all readers (especially those looking for contemporary or nuanced romance). What it does offer is a fascinating look at where so many beloved romance tropes came from. Vintage, dramatic, and fully committed to what it is. Honestly? It was kind of a delight.

A fun way to take something with you and get two stories. This is a two for one, you get Yesterday Once More. This featured Daniel, a successful businessman, his overbearing mother named Margaret, and Julie, Daniel’s fairly young fiancee who was being pressured and browbeaten by Margaret to wear certain clothes, walk and talk a certain way, and let Margaret make all of the decisions regarding the wedding and where they would live, etc. When Daniel was unconcerned about this, Julie became a runaway bride about a week before the wedding. Daniel hardened his heart and rejected her until his older and now-wiser mother intervened and reassured Julie that Daniel really loved her and she should not give up. Shows the importance of discussion between two people prior to committing to each other. Sugar and Spice and it featured a prim and proper librarian named Jayne and Riley, a good but rough-around-the-edges man who has been jaded by all of the hard things he has seen in the world. Jayne has lead a sheltered life and most of her experiences have come vicariously in books. They are opposites in many ways and that is why their relationship works. Both stories have the signature sweetness and charm, and clean love story good for a range of ages. Many thanks to the author, publisher and Netgalley for the opportunity.

This is a title that has two books in one. In the first book, we meet Daniel and Julia, who at first glance seem to have a lot of tension between them. Through the pages we learn that they were engaged and she walked away before the wedding. He wants nothing to do with her, due to his humiliation three years prior. Trying to make amends, she apologizes to him and reaches out to his mother. What transpires after the meeting with his mom, their lives change forever. There were times that, while I understood his reasons, I was upset with him for the way he treated Julia. Julia proved how much she changed by not walking away when he worked very hard to get her to do that again. Will he succeed in pushing her away or will she prove him wrong.
In the second book, we meet Riley and Jayne. First impressions aren't what they think, and they have to knock down their beliefs about the other to get to know the truth. Riley is mysterious to everyone in town, but he has his reasons. Jayne is a librarian who can't believe someone like Riley would be interested in her. I enjoyed how they brought out the best in each other and helped the other see the world from a different perspective. Whether opposites really do attract remains to be seen.
I really enjoyed these stories and the relationships between the main characters. I received an ARC and this is my honest, voluntary review.

Rating: 4/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Thank you to Harlequin Trade Publishing, MIRA, Netgalley, and the author for access to this ARC in exchange for an honest review!

Sugar and Spice Kisses is absolutely sparkling and brimming with charm. With loads of love and laughter, every page is so heartwarming. A 2-in-1 story including Yesterday Once More and Sugar and Spice, Sugar and Spice Kisses is a classic Debbie Macomber story that’s perfect for romcom fans!

Yesterday Once More: Julie Houser, who called off her engagement and left town three years ago, is now back in Wichita. She’s hoping for a fresh start and to earn the forgiveness of her ex-fiancé, Daniel Van Deen. She never stopped loving him. After his mother falls ill and her only request is for Julie and Daniel to get back together, they wonder if they can make her wish come true.

Sugar and Spice: Jayne Gilbert wants to attend her high school reunion with a man on her arm. The only romances in her life are those she reads about. A surprise encounter with her neighbor Riley Chambers quickly changes everything. Riley is bold and mysterious while Jayne is prim and proper. Opposites may attract, but Jayne wonders whether she and Riley can last.

A quick and cute read, these two short stories are both wonderful! Both are light and enjoyable reads that have a sweet happily-ever-after ending.

This was a lovely, lighthearted collection of two novellas that deliver exactly what you expect from Debbie Macomber: gentle vibes and feel-good endings.

Yesterday Once More: A tender second-chance romance. Julie Houser returns to Wichita three years after calling off her engagement, hoping to earn Daniel Van Deen’s forgiveness. I loved the "coming home" theme, though I found myself wishing for just a little more depth and development between the two. Still, it’s a very sweet reunion story.

Sugar and Spice: This was my favorite of the two! It follows Jayne, a bookworm who wants to show up to her high school reunion with a date to spite her former bullies. I related so much to Jayne. She literally tries to learn how to dance by reading a book! Her awkward charm paired with her neighbor Riley’s steady presence made for a delightful opposites-attract story.

While there isn't a lot of depth or groundbreaking originality here, it is incredibly easy to read. This is a closed door romance. It feels like a cozy rom-com you’ve seen before but don't mind revisiting because it’s so comforting. It’s the perfect pick for when you need something low-stress and sweet.

Recommended for: Readers who love Hallmark-style romances, bookish heroines, and quick, happy endings.

If I could rename this one, it would be called "Sugar and SILLY Kisses." Why? In both novellas the FMC exhibits silly and annoying behavior at the drop of a hat.

Here are some notes:

💍YESTERDAY ONCE MORE 🌟🌟
Julie Houser was a runaway bride three years ago. She returns to Wichita to make things right with former fiance' Daniel Van Deen and his mother Clara. This read was too Harlequiny and not in a nostalgic way. I was so annoyed with Julie (and Daniel) at times that I almost DNFd. Makes me wonder if I want to read any of Debbie Macomber in the future.

📚SUGAR AND SPICE 🌟🌟🌟🌟
Jayne Gilbert is a lovable children's librarian. High points for the choice of occupations and time spent at her workplace in the plot. Riley Chambers is her neighbor and he seems to be exhibiting shady behavior. Still, he is a charming and affectionate boyfriend once they start dating. There are some fits and starts -- cue the weird behavior on Jayne's part especially. The goal is for Jayne to have a TDH date for her summer class reunion. Will they make it to the finish line?

I picked this up to save for reading around Valentine's Day. It was a bit of a disappointment, but I can recommend at least one of the novellas in this paperback. Thank you to MIRA (Harper Collins) and Edelweiss+ for a DRC in exchange for an honest review.

Sugar and Spice Kisses by Debbie Macomber is two short romances: Yesterday Once More and Sugar and Spice. The first is about Julie, who had run with her wedding only a week away. She had returned home to make amends. She didn’t expect to have to face anyone this soon, she’d only been home a week. But, there he was: Daniel. It was a sweet story with amends made and more. A sweet HEA with fun characters and a good storyline. So Debbie Macomber.

The next is a little darker with Jayne Gilbert, a librarian, stressing about her high school tenth reunion. She wanted to go but she didn’t want them all to know she had turned out exactly as they had all predicted: a mousy librarian. She and her friend, Gloria, were researching how to meet a man. She wanted him to be the perfect man and appear to be totally in love with her. She finally spoke to the quiet man who lived down the hall and he turned out to be so much more than what she assumed. It is a fun story, obviously a romance, so an HEA, as well. Both fun, relaxing reads. Thanks! Just what I needed!

Sugar and Spice Kisses is two books in one- Yesterday Once More / Sugar and Spice.
Yesterday Once More told the story of Julie and why she decided not to marry Daniel. It was heartbreaking to see her come to terms with why she did it and to make the journey to explain to Daniel why she did it. She moved home and seeing Daniel again she knew she had to explain she had made a terrible mistake. I felt the emotions they were both feeling as they reunited. I enjoyed being with them as they rebuild what they had.
I love second chance stories, and this one was very good.
Sugar and Spice is about Jayne and Riley. This was a rom-com and I really liked it. These two characters were made for each other and watching Jayne step out of her comfort zone was fun to read. I felt what she was feeling. Riley was so opposite to Jayne that they were meant for each other and just didn’t know it.
I enjoy reading Debbie Macomber’s book and these two novellas were a comforting enjoyable book. Debbie Macomber is one of the authors I have on my list to read when she has a book out.
Thank you NetGalley, Debbie Macomber and Harlequin Trade Publishing for this book. This is my personal review.

Both of these stories were excellent
From a young woman that fled from her upcoming wedding because she felt she was losing her identity with what her future mother-in-law was picking out for her to seeing Daniel in the elevator on her first day at work. She was shocked and he was not speaking to her. When she finally saw him again, he was still angry with her and told her to stay away from him and his mother. What follows takes awhile to set things right, but they were right for each other, they just had to be honest about what they wanted.

The second story was more involved in some ways as Jayne wanted to go to her class reunion but she was not very popular and wanted to have a date that was handsome and show she could date. She was a librarian but was feisty when confronted. The man she had seen in her apartment building was gruff and there was mystery surrounding him. Quite a few misunderstandings that had to be settled and worked out but in the end, she was happy.

I really have enjoyed every book that I have read by Debbie Macomber and this one is no exception. Each story makes you feel like you are part of the story. I enjoy the characters as well as the story line.

Yesterday Once More

Julie and Daniel were supposed to be married but then his mother took over the wedding plans and Julie became overwhelmed. The more she complained about the plans the worse things became. She decided she had no choice but to leave.

Now after 3 years away she has decided to come home. She still loves Daniel but not sure if he still feels the same way.

Check out the book I think you will like it.

Sugar and Spice

Another awesome book from Debbie Macomber.

Jayne has her high school reunion and she wants to find a man to take with her. One that will make her the envy of all of her classmates. She has a neighbor that she keeps running into. But she checks out some books at the library on how to get a man, and all that.

A really cute book that I really enjoyed. Check it out.

#BookReview : Sugar and Spice Kisses by Debbie Macomber

3 ⭐

This title includes two novellas in one collection. In the first story, Yesterday Once More, we meet Daniel and Julia in a second-chance romance. While the theme of reconnecting is meaningful, I had a harder time connecting with Daniel, and their relationship felt somewhat tense at times. The story keeps the romance closed-door, fading to black after they are married.

The second novella, Sugar and Spice, introduces Riley and Jayne, and I found this one more enjoyable. Jayne may be shy in social situations, but she has a quiet bravery that really stands out. Their love story is sweet and heartwarming. I’ve always appreciated this author’s writing style, and while these stories were pleasant reads, they weren’t my favorite compared to her other works.

Thank you to the publisher and netgalley for the complimentary copy. All opinions expressed are my own.

This is actually two stories. Yesterday Once More is about Julie and Daniel. Julie ran away shortly before their wedding was to take place. She was being pushed by Daniel's mother to have a life that was nothing like she wanted and Daniel didn't stand up for her. Three years later she returns and Daniel wants nothing to do with her. When she goes to meet with his mother, she learns that she is ill and truly regrets her actions. This is a sweet second chance book.
Sugar and Spice is about Riley and Jayne. Jayne is a librarian, and Riley seems to be involved in something that Jayne is worried about. When he supposedly goes away on a trip, Jayne sees him around town. When she turns to the police for help, she is met with a surprise.
I received an advanced reader copy of this book from NetGalley, and this is my honest review.

Debbie Macomber has created magic once again. In Sugar and Spice Kisses we have two stories (Yesterday Once More and Sugar and Spice), each centering on a couple working to find themselves and each other. In Yesterday Once More, we meet Julie and Daniel. Having called off their engagement years ago, they find themselves face-to-face once again. Could they find it in their hearts to forgive each other and find love once again? In Sugar and Spice, we meet Jayne and Riley who keep bumping into each other and find out there could be possibly be more then just being neighbors. Loved that the book contained two stories. Each equally good and pulls at your heart strings. If you are a fan of Debbie Macomber, this is a definite must read!

Sugar and Spice Kisses is a set of two cute little stories.
The first one , Yesterday Once More is a story about Julie and Daniel. They were supposed to get married but Julie had called it off. After regretting her decision she moves back to town to try to convince Daniel she was wrong and show him that she wants to start over.
Book two,Sugar and Spice is about Riley and Jayne. Jayne is a librarian that has lived a fairly straight and narrow life. Riley , her neighbor seems to live a more adventurous life. They quickly fall for each other but Jayne is unsure she can trust him.
Both Debbie Macomber stories are cute little novellas that make for a fast read. Thanks NetGalley and publisher for a copy for my opinion.

This was super cute and cozy, the kind of read you pick up when you want something light and comforting without a ton of emotional heavy lifting. It’s actually two stories in one, which I liked because you get two different romances and vibes in the same book.

Both stories lean into classic, feel good romance with familiar tropes and gentle pacing. Think second chances, small town warmth, opposites attract energy, and characters who are easy to root for. Nothing shocking or groundbreaking, but very sweet and easy to settle into.

It didn’t completely sweep me away, but it was charming and pleasant the whole way through. Perfect if you’re in the mood for something soft, romantic, and low stress.

Definitely a nice palate cleanser between heavier reads 💕
