This is probably the book I've been looking forward to the most this year, pretty much since it was announced. Love the author's earlier work re: internet, so I knew I'd like this.
Maybe a little too much? Once I started it was hard to put it down, and that could only end in one way: reading before bed. DON'T DO THIS. It scared shit out of me and I ended up not being able to sleep until four in the fucking morning. Fuck that shit.
...but I guess that means the book is good? It is! I *loved* getting the stories behind the creepypasts, like with Slenderman and Goatdude. The stories are still scary, even if you know exactly who came up with them and why, but it is a lot more interesting getting both at the same time, rather than just reading the creepypastas on their own.
Also loved the TV chapter, including one of my fave creepypastas - Candle Cove (I just think it's brilliantly told) - because it talks about a Nickelodeon movie so obscure that it could have been from a creepypasta, but actually exists. Internet folklore AND history, all mixed up together.
Yep, this book delivered. Maybe a little too much. Seriously, guys, don't read it before bed. Terrible idea.
