Hart was recognized with several awards, including five from the National Cartoonists Society, and the Swedish Adamson Award. In his later years, he sparked controversy by incorporating overtly Christian themes and messages into the strips.

This is a really good mix. I think where daily strips fall apart is by relying too much on their own tropes or beating a joke format to death or otherwise feeling same-y day after day. This has sports jokes, anachronism jokes, caveman jokes, war of the sexes jokes, in-jokes, poems, timely (for the 1970s) jokes—but not too many of any of them, and the punchlines are not always predictable. Like, there's a bunch of hippie jokes here, and they play against the smelly/lazy hippie trope—but also the "hey, maybe they're on to something" idea.

It keeps things from getting stale which is even more important when you're reading a half-year's worth of strips in 20 minutes.

Still no sign of the gag I'm looking for.

I am blessed because My grandmother has the whole collection, from the first printings, all still in fairly good shape, so I was gifted in being able to read and see just how life was back then lol!! These are true time capsules of humor. The best part, I kept them up myself and hopefull my kids will enjoy these as well!

Coming out in 1973 with strips from 67 and 68 – specifically, from late October of 67 to late September of 68, almost a whole year’s run. Since there are only 125 strips here, they represent a bit under half of the dailies for that period. I will say whoever selected the ones that got into the book seems to have done a pretty good job, I thought everything here was pretty funny.

I thought that the book "Cave-in" was an awesome easy read. I really enjoyed the diversity of this book. It was very cool to see all of these different comics. I love reading the comics in the paper and this was one of my favorites to read.

Since this book is filled with many comics that all have different plots it would be impossible to just pick one. A lot of the events that happened however where based on the stone age, while it still included the modern world. I really enjoy this type of writing, it is very interesting to read and compare time periods.

I hope that a lot of people take the time to read this book even though it is a very quick fast read it is still packed with very funny and relatable comics. The characters in this book are cavemen and women, who are dealing with all types of situations. These characters make the book humerus and fun to read. This book is based of off people that lived in the stone age while relating to today's world also. This makes the book very interesting and makes a good background for the book. The setting takes place in the stone age, it doesn't have an specific place that it takes place, it is mostly different with every comic.

I believe that most people overlook this book because they think it will not be interesting enough, or that it doesn't have enough content in it. But I think that if you honestly just like to read or like to laugh this could be the perfect book for almost everyone.

I would defiantly recommend this book to others to read and enjoy. I also think that this could be an awesome book for people that don't like to read as much. This book will keep the reader very interested. I also think it is good for people of any age, this book is filled with humor that should be enjoyed by people of all ages.
