Matthieu had never planned to settle down, to have a home, or fall in love. But then he takes a job for a friend and he meets her.
Maya puts up walls to stop people from getting close to her. But that is almost impossible around Matthieu. She has a lot going on and she absolutely cannot fall for the gorgeous, sexy bodyguard.
Matthieu knows that Maya needs a break from everything that life keeps throwing at her.
But will he be able to gain enough of her trust for her to let him in?
Laylah loves reading, but she particularly loves a good romance with some seriously alpha men. Protective, possessive men with large hearts. Writing has become her passion and she hopes her readers enjoy her stories as much as she does writing them.
Papa’s Bébé is a story i was looking forward to getting my hands on,and not just because i got to see all of the people i love again. No,Papa’s Bébé is Matthieu’s story, and he needs someone worth staying for, someone that makes him see that love makes life só much better!
Ink had already asked Matthieu to join Callahan Security, and the Iron Shadows wanted him to join the family, but he’d always held back….until now. When a local detective and a detective working for IA ask to talk to Ink,Matthieu is there too…to judge their honesty. Because the local police is dirty as hell, and Matthieu is a good judge of character. When he hears about the threats made to the chief of police and his family,he volunteers to keep the daughter safe. Not knowing that decision is about to turn his life upside down….. Because the woman he’s meant to keep safe touches something inside of him he didn’t know he had. Plus, she’s beautiful, adorable and clearly loves her animals!
Maya is used to being bullied by her stepmother, she’s also used to being bullied by one of her father’s police officers,Vince. Sadly, she’s also used to her father not believing her when she complains…..but it’s getting old. At least she has her babies, the animals she’s rescued, and they brighten up her days. Right now, she’s working “undercover” as a yoga instructor because she suspects her boss to abuse the puppies he uses in puppy yoga. So,getting a bodyguard throws a serious wrench into her plans…. Not to mention the fact that he’s so gorgeous she can’t even look at him without losing her train of thoughts!
The more time they spend together, the more they both grow to care about eachother. Matthieu starts to see who Maya really is,and while he hates the reasons she feels the way she does,he admires the woman she’s become in spite of them. She’s a spitfire as well as smart, funny and caring….plus she’s hiding a Little he’s dying to meet. Maya,to her surprise, finds she has new friends….friends that are willing to help her with her investigation. And she needs help, because she’s got her hands full with her bodyguard. The one that seems to find all sorts of ways to get behind the walls she so carefully put up around her heart…
Both their lives are starting to look so much better,in spite of the threats. And then someone sets fire to her house….endangering her babies, not to mention both of them! Who ís behind those threats, who ís responsible for her house burning down? And who is the one responsible for the police corruption?
This was another heartwarming story in the MC Daddies series, and i loved every second! There was humor, friendship, newfound family, growth of character and love….lots of love. And there was that hint of mystery, that splash of danger,to keep you guessing. Luckily, someone we all know and grew to love (you know who i mean) was on the case because his Pup adored Maya….
Such a good read! Can't wait for the next one!!! Hope the twins get their own book soon. Also be cool for sanctuary girls to meet the biker girls and hit it off!
4.6 stars. Ive been wondering about Maya and Matthieu since we were introduced to them. Separately, I mean. So to see them get their HEA together was so fun. I loved the animals and how Matthieu just embraced them with zero hesitation. I also really enjoy Laylah’s pacing in her books. It was such a slow build to their relationship, but I loved every second. Of course I also would’ve liked a bit more time with them after they made things official, but I’m always wanting more from this author so that’s not new. I’m just greedy. 🤷🏻♀️😂 Plus we got a bunch of returning characters. I’m so looking forward to Hayes’ book next, but I’m still eagerly anticipating the twins’ book, or books, too. *sigh* So good. This author is always a smash hit for me.
Papa’s BêBÊ is another intoxicating, gripping installment in Laylah Roberts’ addictive MC Daddies series. It's a high-octane blend of raw emotions, sizzling chemistry, danger, and humor. You have to give credit to Ms. Roberts, who delivered another gem that had me laughing at Maya’s quirkiness and crying at the injustice of how her family had treated her. I have enjoyed all of the books in this series, some more than others, but Maya and Matthieu’s story is now one of my favorites.
This story pulls readers into the chaotic and dangerous world surrounding Maya, a feisty, funny, and fiercely independent woman who hides her vulnerability beneath sharp wit and sass. Years of emotional neglect and cruelty from a stepmother straight out of a fairytale villain’s handbook, and a father not much better, have left Maya with low self-esteem. Yet her compassionate spirit shines through in her rescue of mistreated animals, making her a heroine you root for from page one. I loved Maya and her menagerie of unusual pets. She had two sides to her personality. One where she was a spitfire and another where she was a scared little, unsure of herself, and with trust issues.
Enter Matthieu, ex-French special forces, who prefers solitude and a life without complications. Tasked with protecting Maya from the dangerous threats to her family and from increasing incidents aimed at her personally. Matthieu is unhappy when Maya does not take the threats seriously, and forgets to inform him that she also has an unhinged ex-boss with stalker tendencies and her current boss, who misuses and mistreats puppies. Matthieu expects nothing more than a straightforward job. But Maya is far from simple. She challenges and fascinates him, and sparks a protective instinct he can’t ignore. Matthieu’s Dominant nature surfaces not to control, but to shield, nurture, and coax her into embracing her “little” side, a part of herself she’s kept hidden from the world. I admired how he cared for Maya and all her animals, knowing how much they meant to her.
Laylah Roberts masterfully balances intense scenes with tender, intimate moments. The tension between Maya and Matthieu simmers until it boils over, giving readers a romance that’s as much about healing and trust as it is about passion. The pacing never falters, and the combination of suspense, emotional depth, and strong, likable characters makes this a standout in the series. Of course, this book wouldn't be complete without including the characters from the previous books in this series, including a cameo visit from the Fox.
Sorry but it’s boring until about 75% then it’s really good, and I didn’t either of the mc’s.
I don’t understand all the high scores for this one. I had to force myself to finish it as it was boring, I didn’t like either of the mc’s and it’s really ridiculous at times. It dragged on and on and Matthieu didn’t impress me as he spends nearly the whole book sending out mixed signals to poor Maya. One minute he’s treating her like she’s his, and calling her bèbè then he backs off and treats her like she’s only his client who he is protecting. This is made worse as Maya has a lot of issues about abandonment and it causes her a lot of anxiety and upset. I felt really sorry at her times. Matthieu is terrified of commitment and settling down with someone, he says that he’s lived with women before and he’s a daddy dom, so these poor women all thought she was the one! Then there’s Maya who is just hopeless! She’s 26, lives in a rough neighbourhood as it was all she could get with her rescues. As she needed land for them. Yet her mother had left her an inheritance, later on this changes. She has no friends and literally goes to work and home again every day. She has a hamster who f*rts all the time, which means she’s feeding it totally the wrong diet, she has a rescue dog that has been badly abused and she ‘rescues’ him and locks him in a bedroom all day! Then she’s really shocked when they take him out for a walk and he’s loads better! 😡😡 She works in a gym as a yoga instructor a job that she’s never done before and isn’t qualified to do but she’s amazing at it, even though she’s constantly anxious. She only stays in the job even though she hates her boss as she wants to rescue to puppies that her boss does puppy yoga with. 😂😂😂
Then there’s the stupid plot with her father who is the chief of police and is an idiot. Mathieu is called in to help Ink and protect Maya, when her and her father receives threats. At first it seemed like it was going to be exciting but it wasn’t. NOTHING happens with the danger or with them until about 75% in then Matthieu decides that he wants Maya for life and to be hers. After blowing hot and cold nearly all the book poor Maya takes a bit of convincing as she doesn’t believe him. It’s obvious straight away who the baddies are, 🥱 and I can’t believe that no one clicked apart from the Fox.
There was a huge amount of mistakes right through the whole book. It says in the beginning that her mother who died was extremely wealthy and she had left the house to her three children, but as Maya was underage her dad could live there. Then later on it says that her dad put her mothers money in trust for the three children. 🙄🙄🙄 Maya wouldn’t be able to just teach yoga if she’s never done it before, and certainly not with all her anxieties. Kathryn the horrible stepmother is so awful to Maya yet no one notices? Her father was a fantastic dad apparently till his wife died then he had a personality transplant and is suddenly horrid. Maya is supposedly close to her sister yet she never sees her as she moved away. Her brother is the same he hardly ever sees her yet later on he says he wanted her to live with him when their mother died. None of it made sense, and don’t get me started on Maya’s ‘little’ who has a separate personality and talks weird. I’s not tired sort of speech again. 🙈🙈🙈
I was so excited for Papa’s Bebe because I absolutely love the MC Daddies series, and this book did not disappoint. We first met Mattheiu in a previous book, and even then I could tell he had main character energy. He’s protective, caring, and exactly the kind of steady presence Maya needed. After being let down by so many people in her life, she finally has a man with real inner strength who will never walk away.
Maya herself is such a sweetheart, and I completely fell for her and her chaotic little menagerie of animals. Their antics had me smiling and laughing throughout the book. I also loved getting to spend time with other familiar characters from the series. It felt like a family reunion with people I already know and adore. On top of that, we were introduced to some new faces, which makes me hopeful for even more books to come.
Laylah Roberts has become an automatic read for me because of stories like this. She delivers well-written books with characters who have real depth, and this one reminded me exactly why I keep coming back.
I always love coming back to the world that Laylah has built - there are so many characters I enjoy popping up in various books, and this one did not disappoint!
I will admit the main characters were more obscure side characters from "older" books that I honestly didn't remember well, but I did still enjoy their story and connection.
I loved the animals in this book, Maya's care and protection of animals was endearing. as was the names she gave her animals!
The twins continue to be scene stealers in any books they pop up in...and I'm never ever mad to see Fox and Brody pop up!
Another good read from Laylah that kept me invested and page flipping to determine the "who done it."
Oh my Goodness what a Wonderfully Romantic Love Story 🥰 Maya and Matthieu are perfect for each other where she is weak he is strong.Maya completes him in a way he never wanted and he tries to convince himself that when this assignment is over he will go back on the road away from all entanglements. She realizes very early on that he makes everything in her life easier and that she can trust someone for the first time in her life that will not let her down. Along the way we visit with so many old friends including the Fox. I can’t wait to read this book again. ❤️❤️ You will definitely enjoy so much sadness but an abundance of Laughter and of course a healthy dose of Spice🌶️
Between Matthieu's protectiveness and Maya's shyness, this was more a slow-burn than an instalove, but all the more enjoyable because of the buildup. Her relationship with her father and his second marriage has caused her to build a protective bubble around herself. Emotional walls that keep out all but her foundlings, the animals she has adopted as her own. When threats against her father threaten her own safety, she relents to allow a bodyguard. But she never expected one who challenged her perceptions, encouraged her strengths, and supported her emotional needs. As always, any cameos by the twins or the Fox/Brody are a welcome addition to add humour in unexpected ways.
This is Matthieu and Maya's story. I love Maya, she is a wonderful friend to the other Littles, and that gets her their Daddies' help when she needs protecting. Matthieu doesn't want a Little, a relationship at all, but when he meets Maya, that goes out the window. He even embraces Maya's menagerie of rescues. Their HEA is wonderful to read!
I have to say I love to read this author's books. She tells her story thoroughly, making for a wonderfully long read. I'm looking forward to more books in the series!
Another protective, possessive, positivitily, animal loving Papa. I loved meeting Maya her babies & Mathieu. Loss can cause people to do things they normally wouldn't or to push people away, however once you meet one of the Iron Shadows littles you don't know which way you're going. I loved that they both had to put their trust in each other for the same thing of not wanting to be left alone. Of course no book can be without The Fox making an appearance.
This story was amazing! I think it was may personal favorite of the series! The story was good the sex was HOT. My only complaint was I wish main couple had gotten together a little sooner in the story because I would have loved to see more of their relationship development and more sex obviously.. definitely a must read for sure!
I really really hope we get baron and royals stories (or story I can totally see them sharing) soon!! Their chaos is just amazing!!
My heart is so full! I love this series and each story holds a special place in my heart! Matthieu and Maya are such a delight! Maya has never had real love in her life until Matthieu comes along and sweeps her off her feet! He also shows her that it’s okay to be “Little”. These two made me laugh and cry! Plus their chemistry is smoking hot! Maya has such a big heart for her animals and I loved their names! And Matthieu is totally swoon worthy! What a truly delightful story! A definite must read for all!
This book is part of a series but it can be read as a stand alone. Beware, it will suck you in and you'll want to read the preceding books. This is Maya and Mathieu's story. Maya is a little bit had never trusted anyone enough to show her. Mathieu is a drifter daddy who hasn't found his place. Until Ink asks him to guard Maya. Circumstances bring them to learn more about each other and begin a bond. Will they have an hea? Read and see.
Maya was a struggling Little without someone in her corner, a Papa. And Matthieu was a wandering soul looking for a home, a reason to stay, and a Little of his own. And then he found Maya with her big heart, and her "babies"- her animal menagerie. A match made in heaven, (maybe with a little help from her mom in heaven?) And a lot of help from the MC Daddies and their Littles. I LOVE ❤️ Laylah Roberts books!!! She's an automatic purchase for me.
I am so happy that we got to see Maya again and getting her happy ever after. She and Mathieu were such a wonderful couple. Loved the dynamics between them. I also loved that we got to see Livvy and Millie again. And Brody and the Fox. Hope to see them again, maybe in a Christmas novella or something 😎
I adore all the Iron Shadows members and their Littles. This book was a great addition to the series. It was definitely worth waiting for. Mathieu and Maya were so cute together. I love the Fox who did his normal cameo appearance. I never get enough of Royal and Baron. Love this series.
Laylah Roberts will always be in my top 5 authors of all time and this is my ultimate comfort series but these books are getting too long man!! this was over 500 pages and they didn’t get together until 400 pages in and all the mystery/suspense plot got rushed in the last 30 pages 🥲 i just wish they were spaced out better
First of all, always The Fox, Royal and Baron. I feel like those three are my favorite characters in the series. Although, I love everyone. These two MCs are great, and I really enjoyed their story. I am excited to meet some more of these side characters. I also really enjoy the found family that has developed.
Oh boy, what can I say about Matthieu and Maya? You’re going to love them. Maya and her babies are cute and funny! I want chickens now so I can give them awesome names! As per all Laylah’s books I enjoyed this story. Maya is so used to disappointment and Matthieu is never planning on falling in love but somehow they find their way to each other. This is a great book and there are plenty of little nuggets from some of our favorite characters mixed in. Definitely worth reading!
This is the best daddy dom series ever. Fox is my absolute favorite but I fell in love with all the characters. I can even tell you how many times I read this series. It's just so good. I always want more.
I love the girls from Iron Shadows MC, you know you're going to have a smile on your face the whole time you're reading. Lots of love and action with Papa and Bebe. Always a good story from Layla
I am so ready for the next book. Reeves needs one as he is so freaking cute. Matt and Maya story was cute. He tried so hard to not want to relationship but he fell hard.
