This is for ME,
the Pinnacle of the several books
by and about Janet Flanner
that I have read...more like DEVOURED !!!

Alas, I don't have my own copy.
And the copy I found in a Sydney remainder book store
at a very cheap price ,
I failed to purchase,
because I already had more books
than I ever could possibly read
before I cast off this Mortal Coil.

Later I couldn't recall,
and still puzzle over it,
whether I had actually dreamed
this encounter,
this last sighting of a precious document,
of wonderfully composed letters,
by a wonderful writer.

I think it was a Dream.

But I still kick myself
for NOT buying it !!!!!!!!
