This was a mostly satisfying conclusion to the duology. The only way it would have been better is to have had a longer epilogue. I would love to see what happens after that ending with everyone, the weddings etc.
We finally see more of the sweet side to Keene and let me tell ya, it absolutely SLAPS. The relationships between Bex, Jamie, Connor and Keene all deepen and you see just how much they care about each other. I absolutely love all three of the MMCs and the way they support each other and support Bex. They help each other heal from previous traumas and overcome a lot of fears and they encourage each other and support each other every step of the way. The found family here and the level of trust and safety they find in each other is actually 10/10.
All of the supervillain plots really come to a head here and you get a lot of answers. At times is it a smidge unbelievable and extremely unlikely? 1000% but this was such a fun read and I absolutely devoured it, zero regrets there.
I was actually kind of surprised with a lot of the twists and turns here. For me, what I found truly bizarre is that at no point does anyone think, hmmmm, perhaps Bex should do some self defence lessons.
This was a great duet, I feel like it really had it all! The suspense, action and romance. There’s a lot of storyline packed into these two books. I loved Bex and Luke’s relationship and the fact that their Father couldn’t control them anymore. Keene finally comes around in this book, which was definitely a highlight for me. Connor and Jamie were already great and continue to be so. Bex has such a kind heart and she really just wants to help everyone!
Plot: 3/5 • Spice: 3/5 ————-> I appreciate that this was a duet and is only two books. We do get a conclusion along with multiple happy endings for people. I did like book one a little more. This one, and I don’t know if i’m explaining it right, felt a little boring.
Even though in this one we find out who was stalking her, there’s suicide, talk of abuse and a breeding program. It just felt rushed and missing something.
The relationship with these three guys was great. Finally glad Keene opens his eyes.
This book is fast-paced and full of some steamy times. Bex and Luke finally get much-needed answers and closure, and questions are answered that I so wanted to know. Even cameos from a couple of my favorite police officer. Enjoyed it
Burn for me is the final story in the series, and i'm sadly sad it's coming to an end, but it was sush a fantastic read and definitely one of my favourites. A story that had me on my toes from the very start with the suspense of finding out who Bex masked attacker was and why was he going after her. While pure shine and an x fiancé along with her evil father, who i absolutely dispised. I mean, who would think they could treat people that way. Then there's the mystery kiss and trying to finding out who kissed her while Bex is pretending to have a fake boyfriend but along the way Bex will get to know the guys better and things will definitely heat up with Jamie, connor and even the grumpy keene who'll make a truce with Bex to keep her safe. I especially loved the Guest appearance with Aries from the falling for them series who'll help try and help them track down their attacker thanks to the adorable but yet fiesty Poonani who'll protect her property because that cat dosn't like anyone apart from keene. I especially loved the drama between Bex and Kenne and think he's my favourite of the guys, and I loved how we got to know more about his past and finally show his true feelings for Bex. And boy, was it never a dull moment with the hateful messages and that bombshell of an ending that had me speechless. But the ending was swoon worthy, and I'm so glad Bex got her happy ending with her guys.
This book was a lot better than the last one. Keene drastically improved, the plot was developed more than in the last one, and it ended properly. Once Connor was all in, he became more playful. All the guys became an even more tight knit team because of the relationship. Keene became softer. The game where they all fought against Kurt was awesome. It showcased their teamwork and their care for Bex. I still think Keene needs therapy and communication for his issues with women. I also think that the whole "pulling pigtails" trope is terrible. A person should not insult or hurt a person they are interested in because they are interested in them. The sex scenes were even better in this one that the last, hotter. Overall, I liked this book. The ending resolved a lot of the obstacles and antagonists. I was glad that the victims of Bex's dad got their well earned money. I did not expect a second attacker but I knew Bex's dad had something up his sleeve amd that Kurt didnt do it on his own.

i don’t know if this makes sense, but i feel like the characters don’t get each other’s humor. everything is just pretty awkward tbh.
i’ve seen books with this trope work really well, but this one just wasn’t quite for me.
i love all the characters and keene redeemed himself, but just fell a little flat.
bex getting kidnapped by her dance partner, while her ex was in jail was a plot twist. also bex’s best friend getting engaged to her ex was interesting, and her being pregnant! all the lore coming out about bex’s dad was so crazy and mastermindy. so for him to be so stupid about taking bex was crazy. him telling everyone including the police officer his plan and then saying they could leave if they left bex with him was the stupidest thing ever. obviously they aren’t just going to pretend this never happened even if they had left. i also don’t think in this scenario him as a character would’ve killed himself. i think he would’ve shot bex and took his chances with being snipped. no matter what he would never go down alone.

This was a great read and a strong way to close out the series. Melissa definitely knows how to keep the tension high and the emotions running wild. That said, I did get a little frustrated with how often the FMC circled back to her dad and how she was treated—it started to feel like a broken record after a while and pulled me out of the momentum of the story.
I also struggled with the love/hate dynamic between Bex and Keene. It was dragged out for so long that when their feelings finally shifted, it felt sudden and almost out of nowhere. I really wish we’d seen a slower, more natural move toward love in the first book or at least early in this one instead of hitting the middle and suddenly—BAM—they’re in love. It just felt a bit rushed compared to all the buildup.
But I will say, the ending was intense and completely pulled me back in. The final moments had me hooked, heart racing, and it wrapped things up in a really satisfying way. Overall, definitely worth the read.
We left off in book one with Bex having just escaped her attacker and accusing her roommate Keene of trying to scare her. This book continues the journey for Bex and Jamie as they realize the fake dating isn’t fake. Also as Jamie sees that Connor is into Bex and green lights them seeing if there is something there. Throughout the process everyone knows Keene is into Bex except her. Just when you think things are ok and she is safe something more happens. The guys are super protective and do everything they can to try to keep Bex safe from her ex, the stalker that may or may not be her ex and her father.
The ending was fantastic. I loved the very last chapter so much!
Absolutely loved the conclusion to this duet. Book 2 picks up right where book 1 left us hanging on the cliff. We finally get Keen into the picture. First as co-protector of Bex with Connor and Jamie. There is growth and personal issues being worked through - on top of the drama of her father's media empire. If you like your RH littered with action, hot college guys and the drama to match, this is a must read for you. Bonus info: We have characters making Easter egg appearances from other of MA's series. I personally loved that and it made me even more eager to go back to a certain one LOL
I don't really know how to review this duet. The best description I can think of is mediocre. The plot was a little out there but okay and unique enough. The problem was the repetitiveness of it all. I'm pretty sure it could have been one book instead of 2. Secondly, it was a little boring. The characters lacked some depth and the fmc was way too cheerful for all what happened. It was a little unreal. Lastly, the cat's name. I am by no means a prude and am definitely able to cuss like a sailor but I am Caribbean-raised and that name isn't punny like 'pussy', it's more vulgar, kinda like 'cunt'. And it grated on me that anyone would name a beloved pet that.
Everything was written so perfect loved the story line had a few things that almost seemed cliche at first but were done in a very tasteful way. Also the length of the series was perfect the first book was left on a cliff hanger but nothing that makes you mad or want to put the book down (it’s a terrible issue for me if the book is great but if the ending leaves me frustrated I won’t generally go for the second) but no could not put this series down I literally finished it in 3 days it was so good every chance I got i was reading it. Also the chemistry build up between the characters was done so good LOVE LOVE LOVED IT definitely recommend
Oh my word, what an ending for a great series. The twists and turns are superb this time round, just when you think you've figured things out something else gets thrown in to keep you on your toes. I'm glad my guess on who the "secret kiss" was correct because he is my favourite <3 Loved also seeing Ares in here from the "Falling for them" series and little name drops from other previous series too. And the actual ending? What a twist (though boy I am thankful its the last one because I dont think my poor heart could take another cliffhanger haha) All in all a great book.
This was the concluding book in the duology, and it was quite enjoyable. I particularly appreciated the camaraderie among the teammates, and the relationship between Luke and Bex was endearing. The storyline was engaging, though I had hoped for a more developed exploration of the relationships between Bex and the other male characters, rather than an instant connection. Additionally, I wished for a more substantial portrayal of the downfall of certain characters.
im sorry. In general I enjoyed it but there were so many times with Keene and Bex that I almost gave up. im a sucker for enemies to lovers but damn... Bex drove me nuts. there's stubborn and then there's just plain annoying. this wasn't for me but I did finish it. it was okay but I felt like things were repeated too often(i.e. "he's an asshole", "I will never trust women", "my dad sucks") over and over again when we know because we(the readers) have been there the whole time... anyways. not terrible but definitely on the harder side to read.
I really liked this series. It was quick to read. I read it in like a day. The second book just came out which I just finished. And it was still pretty cool. The if you read it in or you listen to it on audio, be prepared. The audio is not great. It's not done in duet, but you know you can still follow the story. And it does have at least a male and a female narrator so that was good, it wasn't just a female trying to do all the male voices or male trying to do the all the female voices. So yeah, at least there's that so good.14 star
I read this book straight after finishing the first because I felt this book could have all been in the first book. This gave many multi happy endings and perfect little sweet moments. And tided up with the first book lovely and didn’t just go off on a tangent.
This was more Keene and Bex getting there turn and it was done very well. This book was more pulling with the out of the bedroom antics. It ended perfectly and even tho I gave these books 3 stars it’s a good quick read with a little spice thrown in.
This is book 2 in the six six six rule so do read the first one before reading this. This is the end of a duet and oh on one side I am sad but the ending? Chefs kiss I promise. I love that the steaminess is right on point and I am here for it. I do not want to spoil it too much but this is a definite must read duet! The ending left me like huh what just happened and I had to re-read the ending to process it even. Amazing!
This is the conclusion to the Six Six Six duet and Wowee is this good. I have absolutely loved Bex from the beginning. Jamie and Conor next. Keene was just, well I guess it took a minute to warm up to him. I don’t love him but I don’t hate him either. Does that make sense?
I really liked the story and I love how it just ties in with other books, and you see appearances from other characters. Hi Ares. Melissa Adams has created this amazing shared universe and I absolutely love it. Can’t wait to see what’s next!
Yay was so glad to get this book, after being so hooked in by the first book.
This book carries on from the first one and honestly it doesn’t disappoint in the slightest. Some of the online comments about Bex made my heartbreak for her. We are definitely taken on a rollercoaster ride throughout, her dad is definitely messed up in the head with what he had planned for Bex!! Thankfully it gets resolved and Bex and her guys get their happy ending. Overall a fantastic read.
Grab this one and dig in to some spice, mystery, and a little danger! I love that the guys in the series aren't your typical knights in shining armor. They all carry their own baggage that needs to be sorted., but you can help but fall for the characters and cheer them on throughout the story. I was able to guess who the mystery man behind the mask is, but Melissa makes you work for it to find out the answer. Another great story in this universe!
4.75 ⭐️ A stunning conclusion to Bex’s story, and I must admit that I will miss Bex and her guys. The suspense of who was Bex’s mystery attacker kept me on the edge of my seat, especially wondering when they would show up next, and how nefarious the next attempt would be! A little surprise visit from one of Melissa’s MMCs from another book series also filled my heart with joy. As always, all opinions are my own.
Awww, did it have to end?? I loved this storyline, Bex was such a bad@$$ with all her sass and standing up for herself and it's never too late to do what right, especially when it's family. Dad... yeah he is 1hunny' a deek and deserves all he gets, and then there's Mr. Creepy face Ooooo he is so where he belongs. Any whooo, this is a lovely ending to another fantastic tail about strength, love and all that make a reader tingly inside. Loved, Loved, Loved.
Loved the conclusion of Bex’s story! She and the guys are still trying to figure out who’s messing with Bex. Events have conspired to finally push Bex and Keene together and force them to admit their feelings for each other. The spice was so delicious! Things with her father finally come to a head, with a very surprising (but satisfying) ending. Loved it!!!
