His credits run the gamut from Superman to Star Wars to Scooby-Doo, and from Clive Barker’s Hellraiser to Looney Tunes. His comics for kids have won a Comics Buyer’s Guide Fan Award, and been nominated for an Eisner Award and two Diamond gem awards, while several of his stories for older readers were included in the #1 New York Times bestselling graphic novels Action Comics.
Been looking forward to reading this first issue of SDTU for some time! Just lots of fun; a great balance to some of the heavy reading I have been doing lately. I really like the way the stories are written; very kid friendly but with lots of jokes only adults will get.
Good for fans of the old TV series, I'd say - Batman's portrayal here 'sounds' a lot like his Adam West incarnation to me.
Also good for anyone feeling nostalgic about the old Scooby Doo shows as the plot reads basically like your standard episode (in a shorter time frame) - at least until the Man-Bat actually shows up. The story is pretty mediocre otherwise, though a younger reader might be able to better enjoy it - it's pretty simple.
The art is very bright, colourful and cheerful - very cartoonish.
This is an absolutely adorable adventure of the Mystery Inc gang as they join Batman and Robin. The art work is very good and the story is fun and reads quickly. This is a great read for kids of all ages.
I remember Scooby-Doo and the gang teaming up with Batman and Robin way back when I was much younger. So, when I saw this free download of them teaming up, I decided to take a trip back down memory lane. I was not disappointed.
Batman and Robin are on the trail of the elusive Man-Bat. They join up with Scooby-Doo and the rest of the gang just in time to stop some bandits and the real Man-Bat.
I loved the little nods throughout the story, like Fred saying it was like they used to team up with someone new each week or Batman responding with he was always glad to team up with anyone that was Brave and Bold.
The artwork was more in the style of Scooby-Doo than Batman, but it was clean and consistent which is always a plus.
Kids should really enjoy this comic and their parents may relive some nice memories.
The overall story was very much in line with the standard Scooby Doo style mystery. There were a couple times when both Batman and Robin and the Scooby Doo game poked fun of themselves. One cute line said something about how the gang used to always run into famous musicians and athletes. Obviously this was a reference to some of the tricks the writers used for cross promotions.
Super cute story told super cutely but I'm glad I didn't pay for this book.
I choose this book to be rated because it has a lot of suspense. It's very exciting to read. What disliked I had for the book was the fact that it needs more. So like in the last book u did was they met The League of Superheroes or something like that. But I wanted the Gang to go back to Gotham City and figure how to use the tools are supplies to get ManBat.
My dad worked for DC while I was growing up so I would frequently get free copies of their "kid's comics"- mostly based on Cartoon Network shows of the late 90s. This comic reminded me of my childhood reading. A fun, quick read with characters I grew up loving, it's a very nostalgic story. Plus- ManBat makes an appearance for a Batman v Manbat fight... so, pretty cool.
What can I say about a Scooby Doo/Batman comic. It's juvenile, but that's what they're going for, right? It's for children to read. Typical Scooby Doo/Batman format. I like both cartoons, so this is why I read it. Expecting it to be as it was, I wasn't disappointed.
I don't ever read comics but when I saw this one I know that I wanted this one becouse it had Scooby Doo and you can never go wrong with him.plus it's free on Barns &Noble.but the price won't have matter like I said it's all about Scooby Doo
This was lame and had zero plot. It was lame and bat man and robin might as well been Easter eggs. This book is lame and should not be read by Harry potter fans. It is not detailed and the three robbers were not needed. You should not waste your money on a potless book
Thought I read a comic book for a change. Used to love both teams in this one. Have to say not a great combo. One or the other would have been best, but it was a freebie.
Look forward to reading more comics, but maybe not combos
Obviously, this is one of those books you can absolutely judge by its cover. It's a great mix of Silver Age style Batman and Robin (with the Bronze age Man-Bat as a villain/McGuffin) and classic Scooby-Doo. It's a great odd to the glory days of Hanna Barbera.
There really isn't much to say other than this was a fun, entertaining read. I mean, come on! It's Scooby-Doo and Batman! How could it be anything less than fun?
I was going through the iBooks store on my iPhone and suddenly thought of going through the comics section under the Free tab. Totally felt like downloading it and having a go at reading comics on my iPhone.
Totally worth it for the time! Nothing much more surprising than using the same formula of Scooby-Doo gang style that most of us have seen in past animated series. Sudden criminal activity shows up and the gang goes on to investigate while both Shaggy and Scooby-Doo feel their scary tummy.
It's also good to see them team up with the classic Batman and Robin from the old animated series. Together they solve the mystery that quickly defining minimal odds. This time they have Man-Bat on the loose scaring the town far away to Gotham City.
Thanks to the writer for giving glimpses of the past memorable moments.
Just 3 out of 5 rating because of the simplicity and fun read. Nothing more to add.
