The stories are mildly interesting, enough to keep me slogging through the German-only portion that follows the parallel text portion. I learned a little bit of German vocabulary (though I probably only remember a handful of the words that I didn't already know), I learned interesting tidbits about some cities I have never visited, but mostly I had the satisfaction of being able to read stories in German (which I know only from one semester of college German plus seven years of Duolingo) and understand the gist of them if not all the details. I'd rather have more interesting content, but for a free ebook I can't complain.
